I'm always shocked how slow business is for lunch. Considering how lovely, helpful and friendly the wait staff are; as well as the food and portions being perfect. I've always enjoyed the chicken Pad Thai here.
I love this place! They make some of the best Thai food I know. Best part is they are open to 3 AM everyday in case you want to grab a late night bite. Only problem is you'll struggle to find parking due to limited availability during peak hours. Also suggest to have a reservation done, if not you'll have to wait for 15 min or more.
Zenna is kinda that perfect go-to when you're craving sushi and pad thai and don’t wanna choose. We popped in after work and hit happy hour—sake bombs were flowing and apps were cheap, love that. I had the spicy tuna roll and drunken noodles... both were solid, not mind-blowing but def tasty. Service was fast, though our server was a little checked out lol. The place has a casual, late-night vibe—dim lights, music low, kinda feels like a hidden hangout. Wouldn’t call it fancy, but for the price and variety? I’d go back in a heartbeat.
This is a hidden gem. Food and drinks were fresh and delicious, awesome service and atmosphere with a surprise of live music on a Friday night. Definitely a recommend.
This Japanese restaurant is the place! If you're looking to eat Japanese food, give this place a shot. The pork chop bites are my favorite following along with their sushi rolls. I've had mostly every plate at Zennas. From soup to fried rice. I enjoy them all! The environment is warming and service is great!Definitely recommend this place.
Specialized Thai/Asian dishes in a modern relaxing ambience. From the moment you get there you can tell that it's not just about the food but about the entire experience. Their lunch bento boxes are a good value and come with a ton of different flavors. Definitely worth a try. Dinnertime is usually very crowded, especially on weekends, so plan ahead!
New fav! Who has happy hour on a Saturday? Zenna! Arrive before 7. The sesame chicken is amazing. Cooked better than we have had anywhere else. Seriously. Could not decide between red curry (spicy) or panang curry (sweeter) so I ordered panang and asked them to kick up the heat. Wow! #Love! Will return OFTEN!!!
Our waiter Jeremy was beyond excellent and making sure that our party of more than 15 people had everything they needed. I came express how well the service and the food was at this location. Definitely would recommend this place to anyone who is looking to try something new with a very waiter and kind staff. My spider roll & yellowtail roll came out perfect as you can see. Thank me after you have had your own phenomenal at this location.
Always my favorite place and I drive from Fort Worth to enjoy this place. I have not had a dish i did not like. The prices are reasonable and I love the adult beverages. I hate that the other locations closed.
Cozy, casual atmosphere. The restaurant was packed with patrons. But that did not deter the waitstaff from providing excellent service. EMNORMOUS portions. Great value for your hard earned dollars. From the appetizers to dessert we were well pleased. We will definitely be coming back.
I love Dolly! She is amazing! Every time I have ever came here no matter how late, they treat you like family and they want you there, on top of the food being amazing I love this place
This is my little go to!! The only reason I gave it the stars on the atmosphere is just the fact that they always have the patio area closed it's not all that great anyway but its kind of cold inside which is fine for most people but I like patio dining as well as sitting on the inside but other than that it's cool here laid-back never crowded and I always have a chill time here !!
Zenna has been one of my favourite Thai place in Dallas. Shrimp Tempura - good 😋 Edamame - 😆 Yakitori Chicken - average, teriyaki based 🙃 Tom-kha noodle soup - 🔥👌😇 superb Tornado Roll - good Spicy Basil Fried Rice - 🔥👌😇 superb Shrimp Red Curry - 🔥👌😇 superb Chicken Pad Thai - a bit disappointed, can be improved Fried Ice Cream - another reason to come back 🍨👌 Overall AWESOME 😎 Staff are nice too! 🙏
I had been in Thailand as well as Japan for awhile and loved the food. I missed finding good sushi as well as good curry. This place had great dishes with great flavors. I had the shrimp sushi and green curry - loved them both. Portions were large enough that I have some for tomorrow. The place is really busy but our food came out fairly fast and service was great! The only thing I would have changed is have some pumpkin in the curry but all was great. They also have a full bar. There is one of these in Mesquite but several have told me that the PLANO one is much better.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Zenna Thai & Japanese restaurant, a hidden gem that brought the vibrant flavors of Thailand to my taste buds. Started with salad which had peanut sweet cream and Yummy tom yum soup . One of the highlights was the Penang curry chicken- rich , aromatic and bursting with fresh herbs . All we went with spicy level 3. It is moderate level. It is a must visit for anyone seeking an good Thai dining experience.
Excellent pad thai, glass noodles and fried rice. Our family really liked the heavenly beef appetizer and the mango sticky rice dessert.
Open late! Good prices and vast selection. Drinks are also good. Service can be slow so be prepared to wait, but worth it in the end.
Clean layout, varied menu options, fair pricing for the quality and ambiance. The music selection is amazing, the atmosphere is one of the best I've seen lately. Everything is clean and well maintained. Cannot reccomend it enough. The first time I came here, it was 2:40 AM (20 minutes before close), they served us quickly, kept our drinks refilled, and our sever was exceptionally cheerful and attentive. We didnt feel like a burden at all, as is often the case when you come in that close to closing at most restaurants.
This spot has taken my top overall Thai spot. When you walk in you are greeted instantly and they work to find you seats if available. Certain hours there is live music which is entertaining and actually a pretty high quality/level performance. I order drunken noodles (pad kee mow) at spice level 4 every time and it’s amazing.
Okay. As a harsh Thai food critic and foodie, I must say… Wow! Delicious, authentic Thai food! I’m so glad we found this place on a whim. I got my go-to Seafood Panang and my boyfriend got Pad Kee Mao (Drunken Noodles) with beef. Both items are fresh, portion size is good, and the flavor is outstanding!!! Definitely adding this to our rotation!
"Spicy Basil Fried Rice with Chicken." A delicious entree with fresh ingredients to include: basil, bell peppers, egg, onions, cucumber, and cilantro. This dish can be customized to your liking by adding or omitting ingredients. Such a very tasty and delicious entree. Great food, great people, and great service.
Really love this place and come all the time. Nothing fancy but really good Thai food at a good price. We come almost once a week and have never had anything we didn’t like. Friendly staff and flamingo guitar from time to time. Highly recommended for casual Asian dining.
The restaurant was really loud, music and conversation, and seemed to attract more of a bar crowd than a restaurant crowd. I ordered to go. The food was delicious as always. Fresh made and well made. So good! Service was attentive, but the food was about 10 minutes late per the SMS updates I received.
My wife and I celebrated out 10th year wedding anniversary her tonight. It was awesome. I actually had most of there dishes growing up in my high school days. I grew up with Chef Joe K. along with his 2 brothers. Their mom is an amazing cook. Love you Joe. God bless you my brother.
My husband and I found this place while looking for something close to our hotel. It was a quick drive, and we arrived at a good time as it was not busy. We were seated immediately, and our server was quick with menus and took our order within 5 minutes of sitting down. My husband got the yellow tail sushi roll and a side of steamed Gyoza. Bothe were very good. I ordered the Thai noodles with chicken and #3 spice level. It was a huge portion with lots of flavor. The heat level was a little low for my liking, but I never know how they actually measure their spiciness. I would probably get a 5 next time, but all of it was delicious.
A friend of mine was having his birthday dinner here and invited my wife and I. He has been telling me about this restaurant, and we've been excited to try it out. For starters, we had the Steamed Tulip Dumplings, Yakitori Chicken, and the Crab Rangoon Dip. My favorite was the Yakitori Chicken, but they were all very good. We also had the Tom-Kha Soup, and it was flavorful and amazing. We will definitely be getting it again. Next, we had the Pineapple Shrimp Fried Rice. I was kinda skeptical about it, but after I tried it, I was sorry that I didn't try it sooner. Pineapple goes great in fried rice. For dessert, we had the Fried Bananas and the Sweet Black Sticky Rice. The fried bananas were good, but everyone loved the sweet black sticky rice. The whole meal was great and the service was amazing, they were short staffed and our waitress Dolly was the only one there working all the tables and she did an amazing job. We will definitely be coming back.
It's one of my favorite Asian fusion restaurants. They have good variety. The sushi isn't bad for the price. My favorite is the Thai menu (you have to askstafffor it). I believe this is one of their strong point of interest. And its great to have late hours on the weekend. The service is always excellent, and the food is always consistent.
I had an incredible dining experience at Zenna Thai & Japanese Restaurant! I ordered the Curry Combination Noodle Soup, Ginger Lemon Hot Tea, Water with Lemon, and the Volcano Roll as an appetizer. Every dish was flavorful, fresh, and well-prepared. The curry soup was the perfect blend of spices, and the Volcano Roll was delicious and beautifully presented. What truly made the experience stand out was the exceptional customer service from Dolly. She took the time to ask about my preferences, listened carefully, and recommended dishes that I absolutely loved. Her attentiveness and friendly demeanor really elevated my visit. If you're dining here, I highly recommend asking for Dolly—you won’t be disappointed! This restaurant is a gem, and I’ll definitely be returning!
I always pass this spot or hear my friends saying how great it it. We decided to try it last night and I’m so glad We did, the food was amazing and the service was even better. Daniel at the bar took good care of us. We got the combination red curry with no shrimp, it was fire!! The sesame chicken was the best I have ever had and the fried rice was cooked perfectly. Pork ribs were bomb, so flavorful and tender. The spring rolls were delicious! The margaritas had us tipsy and the Fried Banana Dessert is a MUST!!!!! Will definitely come back here. Loved it!
Really enjoyed Zenna for our son's post graduation dinner. Was never able to reach them on the phone or any social media method, but at 9:15pm on a Tuesday evening they weren't too busy and seated us within about 5 minutes. Everyone liked the BBQ pork chop tapas. Tiger cry beef was delicious and spicy. Other items weren't very spicy at all, but the flavors were delicious. The only one I didn't care for was the volcano roll (normally one of my favorite sushi rolls items). Will definitely come back again.
Went with a group of friends. The service is quick and our server was a very sweet lady. Pad Thai noodles are good. Tried calamari and shrimp, both appetisers were decent. We did not like the mango pudding. Good for a small friends hangout.
First time there and I had to leave. I don't know what was going on but the party there and my server have issues. He even went out to the parking lot to speak with them. The my server. I felt very uncomfortable and left. I even saw one of them he was talking to come back in as I left. Glad I leave. Thank you for your reply. Regular or not. No one need to leave the restaurant and I still didn't get my drink even after waiting 8 mins for him to first greet me and take my order. I never got my drink after 9 mins. There are other customers who might become regulars. They deserve the same level of service. I came back during lunch and service was great, food was even better. I wish I could've experienced this the first time. I changed the stars to 4 and wish it could be a 5 but after my first experience.
My husband and I decided to come here while celebrating our 10 year anniversary. We were told that it will be a 15 minute wait to be seated.. After 30 minutes my husband asked about sitting and they stated it was an issue with the kitchen getting the orders which delayed sitting. Yet they never told anyone of the issue and just had people waiting.. It has now been over an hour with several people leaving not only after service but previous to.. This is my first time and it just may be my last.. Happy anniversary to us.. 😢😢😢... okay I'm boosting our stars because our server May was amazing and the food and drinks were delicious.. The spring rolls, Crab Rangoon dip and pad Thai were amazing... Plus they play amazing variety of music.. Overall I enjoyed..
This place is a hidden gem, especially for night owls and healthcare workers. Open late until 3 a.m. and offering delivery, it’s perfect for anyone working night shifts or craving a solid meal after hours. The happy hour deals are fantastic—definitely a great bang for your buck. Their pineapple fried rice? Chef’s kiss. Seriously delicious. The portion-to-dollar ratio is solid overall—generous servings for most items, though sushi portions tend to run smaller (but that’s mostly during happy hour). They’ve got a wide, diverse menu with something for everyone. Whether you're dining in, picking up, or ordering late-night delivery, Zenna always delivers on flavor and value.
The sushi was ok. It is not as good as some other places, but it is better than some. It was freshly made. We got this to-go which took a little while. The bartender was nice while I waited. They have sushi specials which included $5.75 Spider rolls. Their Happy Hour specials are really good, but there is usually a crowd. I would come back. We ordered the Spider Roll, Plano Roll, and Dragon Roll total with one sake, including tip was $35.
Service was a little slow but very good Had the Thai Peanut Chicken and it was good. I had it at level "3" heat and it was not hot at all!! Flavor was good though as you can see by my pic. We also had a sushi roll that for the life of us we cannot remember the entire name. Some type of a " crunch" roll and it was really really good.
What nice little surprise this place was! Service was friendly and efficient. Food was good, no doubt. We ordered Spicy Thai basil fried rice, miso soup, chicken broccoli with passion fruit margarita & coconut water. While the soup and the food were very good but Imy friend didn’t like the drink and coconut water that much. The server and the ambience are good, family friendly. Will try again in future. They are open till 3AM so this place has always been my togo place when it’s late for dinner.
Food was fantastic. Service was horrible. Took forever to get a server and just took too long for everything. Tables around us seemed to be getting served promptly. We had to keep flagging ours down.
I always ordered takeout for Thai fried rice. Amazing fried rice, and great portion. However First time I dined in, waited around 40min for the food to come out. My friends order was messed up, and my rice was still not out. So we decide to just cancel my friend’s order, and ask for my fried rice to be package for takeout. When I got my take out fried rice, the portion size was smaller. I would say it shrunk about 33%. It use to be in a white square styrofoam and was filled to the brim. That being said, fried rice was still good.
Definitely a great local restaurant with international experiences. They have great cold tapas selections, I would suggest the imperial rolls with extra shrimp. For sushi entrée, shrimp tempura 1 Noodle entree - pad Thai seafood with level 4 spicy 2 Noodle entree - udon no eggs
This place can either be your best experience or your worst experience. The pineapple fried rice is my absolute fav. There’s a few waiters that are pretty amazing too (some previous ones won’t bother to check on you). The main downside is I’ve had previous issues with food and drinks such as finding hair in my food and what I’m assuming is residue from the coke machine on my drink. They have a pretty solid happy hour as well and the heaven beef is a must have.
Zenna has been my go-to spot for Thai food for a long time, mainly because of how good their Spicy Basil Rice and Panang Curry are. I’m a regular customer and would’ve easily given them a 5-star rating based on taste alone. However, over the past few months, I’ve noticed a consistent drop in the quantity of Spicy Basil Rice in takeout orders. Until last year, the box used to be completely filled. Recently, the portion has been noticeably less compared to what it used to be. I called the restaurant to check if this was a one-time mistake and was connected to the manager. I politely explained that I’m a regular customer and asked if something had changed. I was told that the rice is always measured using the same bowl before being packed. While I understand that explanation, there was no acknowledgment of the concern, nor any willingness to verify it (for example, asking me to revisit or share a photo). Paying around $15 for that quantity doesn’t feel worth it, especially for a place where the dine-in atmosphere and interiors are fairly average. When it comes to takeout, value matters. Price, taste, quantity, and service should balance out. Zenna still delivers on taste, but unfortunately, service and portion consistency have taken a hit recently. Posting this here so other regular customers are aware.
SUMMARY: Hostess was awful, everything else was incredible! EXPERIENCE: Rosa at the front desk left a lot to be desired - with a table of 8 coming, I arrived first and asked to be seated. She straight out said No. I asked if I could be seated alone, to get a glass of water (it was a long day and I drove quite a ways).. also No. She said I could not be seated until at least 3 people from my party had arrived. Why 3? If 3, then why not 1? No clue. Another ridiculous policy that only serves to ruin the customers experience. Especially with her nonchalant attitude about it. Oh well. After that, our server was AWESOME! And the food was incredible, and authentic (our family is from Thailand). We had the Kow Ka Moo, Rice Porridge, Pad Thai, and Som Tum. The black sticky rice custard dessert, although not authenticaly Thai, was yummy.
Service was great. The reason I gave a two star is for the following: 1. I ordered a glass of water and when I drink the water, I knew immediately that something was wrong with it. The water tasted like there is something in it. I asked if they get their water from a filter and the waiter said yes. I told the waiter that the water tasted like the filter hasn’t been changed in a while. As a result I only took a few sips of water. 2. For the entrée I ordered a combination yellow curry and an appetizer of marinated squid. The entrée came out before the appetizer. The curry was OK. The potatoes and the curry needed to be cooked longer as they had a bit of hardness to them. The appetizer was very good and probably the best dish out of everything I ordered. 3. Lastly, I ordered a spicy tuna roll and Philadelphia roll. Both roles tasted off. Neither roll was fresh. When I put the Philadelphia roll in my mouth, some thing about the salmon did not taste right. When I took the salmon out of the roll I touched it and it was not cold and you could barely call it chilled. The spicy tuna roll was also not good. They sprinkled some sort of red powder on top which adds to the distastefulness of the dish. If this restaurant focused more on the taste and freshness of the food, they would be doing better in my opinion.
This location never gets our order right. We asked for Spice Level 5, and our food had zero spice and it was even sweet. I spoke with Dylan, the manager, who was less than helpful. He asked for a picture, which we texted, and he claimed to “see a bunch of chili flakes.” How ridiculous is that?
raised my hand asking for a server waited 20 mins for water and the moment he saw my hand he put his jacket off and said he’s off his shift and walked away that is the most rude i’ve ever seen a server and it it disgusting.
The most filthy, disgusting restaurant in Texas. Food old, service horrific, splatters of old drinks on the wall. Floors were sticky, I could go on. Someone invited me to meet them here, never ever again.
Roaches. I went here not knowing anything about this place. Should have read the reviews, first mistake. Joint was completely empty so I sat down, second mistake. Sat at the bar hoping to grab a sushi roll - within about 3 minutes I saw 4 roaches. Was completely disgusted. Lost my appetite- the staff was REALLY friendly but that was so gross.
We sat down at open (4pm), ordered around 4:10. I got my food shortly after, within 15 minutes. My boyfriends sushi didn't come out until 5:18pm. So I ate my food an hour before him. Then sat there and watched him eat his food. We had to take turns because apparently it takes an hour to roll up some rice. I don't mind food coming out late, but bring it ALL out late so people don't have to take turns eating in front of each other. We were the first ones in there and everyone who came in after us left before us... We heard a few people complaining about how long it was taking to make their sushi too. And the sad thing is, ours came out last even though we ordered first.
This place used to be amazing, but not sure if new owners/cooks or what, but the food is r the same. The servers don’t care. It’s bland. Bar service is terrible.
I come here all the time. The food is great. The service is terrible. I just placed an order for pick up. Simple California roll and fried rice. They said 15 mins. Got there 20 minutes later and proceeded to wait another 30 minutes. Why am I waiting 45 minutes for a California roll and Thai fried rice. Very sad. I come here at least twice a week. Now I won’t ever come back.
Very disappointed! We went there yesterday around 6.30 pm, it was our first time ever to walk out of the restaurant! We waited 10 mins with nothing except menus on the table. There was a server was at another table next to us to check them out. He was not even stop by to ask for a drink after that. Then a new customer came, another server took his over before us!!! Unacceptable, lack of common sense! My little daughter got bored and even complained why it takes so long. Later on a server walked straight to our table way but he turned to picked up the check at the table next to us!!!!!! and left!!!!! That was the point making us walked out!! It would be understandable if it was busy BUT IT WAS NOT BUSY AT ALL!
If I could give 0 stars I would. My sister and I ordered from this restaurant late night based on the reviews was excited to try it. I got the pad Thai and it wasn’t spicy, barely any sauce, tasted slightly burnt, and to make things WORST there was a long hair deep in the pad Thai wrapped around the shrimp.
Ordered two plates with hair in them, then Maria walked up didn’t introduce her self as a manager “the manager “ asked how’s is there hair when no women working in back then 2-3 women walked out! Dolly was great as a bartender paid our bill and tipped her well thru it all!
Waaaaay overpriced. Ordered 3 rolls that cost $35 but it looked like a 3 for $10 roll special that you can get somewhere else. Rice is super sweet. Also ordered beef curry that only had 4 small strips of beef for $14.50!!! It's all soup and cauliflower. Not worth it at all Crab dip was meh. Overall, we paid too much money for the quality and quantity of the food we got. Never again.
After a long tiring day, they serve me something which I didn’t order after a 30 mins wait time and on requesting they took the dish back and got it back in within 2 mins which was cold and under cooked food especially the mushrooms. The curry on the side was salty as well. Staff was rude and they didn’t bother apologize or offered to replace it . Worse experience so far !
I used to be a loyal costumer to Zenna but lately my experiences are going from bad to worse. waiters are unintuitive , no one is there to welcome or guide us to our seat! no one there to hand us menu! No one will come to pick up our order unless we go to them! and is not just the services. i have been told it is the same chef but honesty i doubt it because the size and the amount of rice and flavor in the sushi reflect 7 elevn sushi if that had one!!! And the noodles look and taste like maruchan ramen. i feel really bad to lose on of my favorite spot but this what happened when restaurant operate below their usual standard
We ordered $70 worth of food at midnight. At 130 the delivery was 3 blocks away with a driver who couldn’t speak English or seem to even be able to text (Google translate has helped me in many countries I don’t speak the language in) or find the right apartment building let alone area of building that is several blocks away from the leasing office. We ordered online-with this restaurants website… which apparently uses a third party to conduct its business. Not sure why the manager, Joe, told me that was my fault. One of us, the birthday girl, is vegan and when several sushi rolls were placed not in same container (there is NO way to give any special instructions! We would have ordered more if we could have ensured no meat/animal products were used in her food). But here we are… Birthday girl unable to eat because the container of multiple rolls was smashed together in one corner of the container with sauces and fish/flesh touching her food!! I called and they told me come in for new rolls. This sure does seem to defeat the purpose of the delivery (I’m getting my hair bleached and colored and had to go with foils in my hair and cape on…and still got to pay for the delivery!!!!???? The manager added extra spring rolls. Didn’t ask for them. Didn’t want them. Not sure why the delivery took over an hour-closer to an hour and half for me to walk three blocks, and drive there!!! Got new rolls home… they are not fresh! They are not delicious!!! This place is a joke!!!! DO NOT ORDER from their website!!! I would avoid this roach infested joke all together! I’m about to make us some food! Waste of $70 plus tip/delivery (love you gotta tip even before knowing what you are tipping for)! Not worth the time, effort, money,, delivery fee, delivery time, tip, drive time to fix, nor the trash this place calls food! Great job owner!!! Thanks for the lesson learned!
Didn't even get to try the food. Stood in the lobby for awhile before being seated. The host was working on a to-go order. Sat at the table for almost 10 minutes, saw the waiter many times, but he never came to our table. We got up and left. There were 4 other tables there being served.
I would like to share my first time experience ordering from this restaurant . I had the chicken Thai fried rice overall 1/5 .. the quality of the chicken was off . The spicy level was ok . I also ordered the tulip dumplings … they were dry and the texture was crumbly . Not a big fan . I would not be returning to try additional dishes from the establishment .i can’t speak for the service and atmosphere as i ordered this order online .
Service here seriously sucks every time I’ve come here the past two or so years. Management needs to train their servers the bare minimum of taking care of their tables. Especially when it’s dead inside… they should be able to maintain their guests.
--- **No Star Rating** I typically refrain from leaving no star ratings, especially for a place my daughter and I frequent for its usually fresh and amazing food. However, our experience today was an unfortunate exception. We arrived to find the restaurant unusually empty, but the service was still great, and the food looked as delicious as ever. Unfortunately, a baby roach crawling around the rim of my daughter’s plate quickly shattered our dining experience. The manager promptly apologized and assured us that they have pest control services twice a week. While this information is intended to reassure, it actually raises concerns about the effectiveness of their pest control measures. Despite our many positive visits in the past, this incident has left us feeling uncomfortable and unlikely to return.
