I love this place is one of my favorite spot. I took my friend here for her 47th birthday she love everything on the menu and it was so delicious. The servers here are great very accommodating and can help you decide on what to get if you aren't sure. The Ebesu Signature Course was absolutely amazing! Everything on our plate was perfectly presented love it 😁portioned was just perfect and the foods quality great and unique flavors. We definitely got our money's worth! After we finished our dinner the waitress come out with the surprise birthday 🎂 home make cheesecake 😋 LOVE IT so yummy and delicious.
My favorite at all the time in downtown plano. It’s hidden gems. Fish is so fresh and yummy. Their course is one of the reasons im coming back. HIGHLY RECOMMEND
Some of the best sushi in existence. They are as good as some of the nicer sushi places in Tokyo - no small feat in the US. Highly recommend the nigiri, very generously sized.
2nd time visiting. First time was fantastic and this time was even better! Ryan has been our server and now this time Laura. They’re both excellent! Also shout out to Aiden for helping us out when I stupidly made the reservation for the wrong date. He made it a priority to have us seated even though they were fully booked.
Our favorite Japanese spot in North Dallas! If you’re craving real Japanese food like you’d find in Japan — not the usual Americanized version — this is it. Uchi used to be our go-to, but not anymore. This place is the real deal.
Absolutely delicious with incredibly creative twists on each dish! The sushi was amazing, but the robata dishes stole the show! Everything was perfectly cooked, presented, and portioned, really felt like master chef level quality and unique flavors. Very reasonably priced as well, we definitely got our money's worth! Some highlights are the pork curry, the amazing eggplant gratin, kurobuta sausages/pork belly, croissant pudding, and the delicious mocktails! Also very friendly, humble, yet informative staff. I visited from out of state and I'm still thinking about this place a week later. Don't hesitate!
Visited this sushi spot over the weekend, and it completely exceeded my expectations. All the fish tasted extremely fresh, and every dish felt thoughtfully prepared. Even though it was a bit busy (weekend rush), the service was attentive and the food came out in great timing. Highlights of the meal: • Tamago sushi : perfectly sweet, fluffy, and balanced. One of the best versions I’ve tried. • Grilled calamari : tender, lightly charred, and full of flavor. Definitely recommend. • Matcha tiramisu :light, not overly sweet, with a true matcha flavor. The berries on top complemented it perfectly. Overall, a fantastic dining experience and a place I’d absolutely return to.
The Ebesu Signature Course was absolutely amazing! Every dish was beautifully prepared, full of flavor, and so filling. The quality and freshness really stood out, and the presentation made the whole experience feel special. The service was attentive and welcoming, which made the night even better. If you’re in Plano and want an unforgettable meal, I highly recommend trying the Signature Course at Ebesu!
I had a wonderful experience dining here. From start to finish, everything was enjoyable. The food was delicious, well-prepared, and served fresh, while the service was attentive, friendly, and made me feel welcomed. It’s clear that the staff takes pride in creating a positive atmosphere for their guests. Overall, both the food and service exceeded my expectations, and I will definitely be coming back again.
A Hidden Gem in Historic Plano: EBESU Redefines Japanese Fine Dining Tucked away in the charming historic district of Plano, EBESU is not just a Japanese restaurant—it’s an experience. Every element, from the architecture to the pacing of the meal, reflects an unwavering commitment to excellence. The sashimi rivals—and in many ways surpasses—Nobu. Each cut is immaculately fresh, sliced with precision, and presented with the kind of quiet confidence that only comes from a kitchen that knows exactly what it’s doing. This isn’t theatrical dining. It’s restrained, refined, and deeply respectful of the craft. What elevates EBESU even further is its extraordinary attention to detail. From the temperature of the ceramic dishes to the seasonal garnishes that arrive without announcement, everything is deliberate. Nothing is rushed. Nothing is careless. Service is top of its game—elegant, intuitive, and seamlessly attentive without being overbearing. The staff move like clockwork, yet still manage to offer genuine warmth and insight into the menu. If you’re looking for a place that honors tradition while quietly pushing the standard forward, EBESU is it. A masterclass in Japanese cuisine and hospitality.
Been here 4 times now and most recently I had the chance to try their tuna cutting experience. Every visit was absolutely amazing! Their tuna cutting experience is a high cost, but as a cheapass, it is so worth it. Check out my pictures and the chopsticks on the right side so you know what dish it is. Ended up getting some otoro to-go and oh man, it’s ruined all other cuts and tuna dishes for me. EBESU is a must try if you appreciate good Japanese food!
Our server Laura was so sweet and accomidating to us. The menu is detailed with color coding by allergen which was very helpful for my gluten allergy as I have celiacs disease. The head chef was masterful in his presentation and taste. The sushi rice was perfection. All the staff meticulously served. Everything was absolutely delicious. The chef's treatment of the Tamago was the best I have ever tasted. This was a surprise as the omlette sushi is usually overlooked. We had a perfect anniversary dinner!
We live within walking distance of Ebesu and finally made it there for dinner. We were seated quickly on a Saturday evening, though I’d recommend making a reservation to be safe. The food was top-notch, and both the service and atmosphere were excellent. While prices run higher than average, they’re not unreasonable. We’ll definitely be returning!
This restaurant might be the best of any I’ve ever been to in my life. Certainly the best sushi. The tuna was so fresh and everything just melted in your mouth. The tuna tartare with basil sauce was something I’ve never even heard of but wow you have to try it. The only thing better than that was the A5 wagyu. I can’t even describe how good it is. If you’ve never had it, it’s worth the price to try it. The only thing we didn’t care for was the sauce for The fried chicken appetizer we got. The chicken was perfectly fried in tempura batter and so flavorful. The sauce was a lemony creamy something I don’t know, but it just wasn’t for us. We got a side of eel sauce for it instead and that was perfect. The service was absolutely excellent and every person in the restaurant clearly cares about your experience and does an outstanding job. Very classy and upscale restaurant. This will be my absolute must come back to place in Dallas when we visit!!
My wife and I got reservations here for a Friday night after reading this was in the top 10 sushi places in the entire state of Texas. Overall, it was good, not great for us. Continue reading if you care for the details. Atmosphere - Decent. It's clean which in today's day and age is very much appreciated. It's small overall with a small bar area, a small "counter" area, and an ok seating area. I wouldn't say ideal for large crowds or children under 5. The sushi bar is in the open, which is nice. Service - This is their best attribute. Everyone there was super friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable on the menu. Our server was fantastic explaining the regular menu as well as the special menu they had at the time. The bartender was great and prompt with our drinks. The service was definitely top notch. Food quality and presentation - This is where we felt... a little short changed. We got the edamame and the pork belly as starters. Edamame is.. well edamame. Hard to mess that up. I will say the pork belly was fantastic. Being an appetizer, not very large or filling, but taste wise it was arguably the best dish we had. For entrees we got 2 sushi rolls, which if im being honest I can't recall what they were, and then their special "dipping ramen". The dipping ramen was different, and a little odd at first, but it grew on us. Id say overall it was pretty good. Now the sushi... what they are "known for" and top 10 in Texas. It was meh. I don't remember what rolls we got because they weren't very "wow". They were good, don't get me wrong, but you can get better sushi for half the cost elsewhere. We finished with a sake flight which was fun, but sake is sake. Price - This is where the 4 stars comes in. For just the 2 of us we dropped over $150 for "meh" sushi and small portions. This place is definitely the definition of "great looking food, in small portions, for a lot of money". I'm sure there are people that will disagree with me, but as stated earlier we can get better sushi for more than half the cost elsewhere. Overall - We enjoyed the place, but honestly probably won't be back. If we are dropping that much on dinner we are going to Haywire.
I think I figured out what’s going on here. The menu’s split between cheap rolls and expensive rolls but… neither is worth it. The cheap ones taste like hotel buffet sushi mostly filler. The pricey ones aren’t much better they just toss in extra cucumber and drown everything in sauce like that fixes it. And the whole “do you have a reservation?” + dress code thing feels like a gimmick to seem upscale. It’s not that vibe. The chef was literally in pajamas making sushi behind the bar. I wanted to like it, but unless they step up the freshness and basics I’m out.
