Best hibachi anywhere hands down.
Visited for a birthday dinner as were others at our table🎂...Food, and Service was great. The cook was delightful adding the special touch for a memorable experience.
THIS PLACE CHECKS ALL THE BOXES!!! If you're looking for a warm atmosphere with great food and service you can count on consistency here. I have never left here disappointed. Even during the rush of holidays!
I ordered a salad. I am vegan so my choices were a bit limited but for $28 bucks it was a bit disappointing and boring. It was beautiful but over priced and underwhelming. The other food looked amazing that our large party was having. Service was great and it was speedy. My husband's sushi roll he said was a bit dry. The restaurant is beautiful and in a great location 👌 I want to come back and try the veggie tempura rice bowl and see how that is. Also the Plum Wine Sangria 🍷 drink is on point. So good and refreshing. Restrooms were clean and stocked. I will definitely be back.
My family has dined many times at Kimono's teppanyaki tables but only once in the regular dining room. We did that last night and it was excellent. No wait time, service was great, and the food ordered off the menu was delicious, especially the sushi and baked salmon. We'll still go for teppan but won't hesitate in the future to order off the menu as a change of pace.
We just stopped by on our way home from camping and the food was delicious! Our waitress Sanny (I think that was her name) was really nice and helpful. We’ll definitely come by next time we’re in town
Good food! very nice and happy servers! and im telling you its been a few days now but im still dreaming of their salmon poke! its so good! and the sashimis? i remember the taste exactly like that in japan. oh i could just eat that everyday! and then we also ordered agedashi tofu for appetizer and the steak yakisoba dragon roll and california roll, and for to go volcano and benicia rolls! they were all good! worth the wait. it was valentine’s date night, and even with the reservation we still need to wait for an hour good thing they have a bar and order drinks while you wait like saketini and lychee blossom. i only took pictures of what i ate. it was my first time in this restaurant, totally recommend it and will definitely be back with friends and family!
Great place for teppanyaki and other traditional Japanese fare. I highly suggest you call ahead and reserve a table especially if you're planning to go there for dinner as they get packed pretty quickly especially on the weekends. A grill-side seating by the teppanyaki is a must for big parties and first time guests.
Went for dinner tonight. Wanted to try this place since I drove by it frequently. Wanted to stay away from benihana type of dishes. We ordered the fried rice, it was ok, needed more flavor and not worth the cost. Vegetable tempura was ok but again, not worth it. Tempura udon was what it was, nothing special. Tried the special Kimono oyster, not bad but I thought it was raw, not cooked. If I go out for japanese food again, won't be here. I would give it 2.5 stars if I could but 3 stars would be pushing it.
We used to visit on occasion before Covid but hadn't been here in a few years. It's a nice place to take young kids for the chef experience. Not sure if Covid changed things but I used to enjoy when the chef would toss food at you so you could try to catch it in your mouth. We didn't get any of that treatment and it I didn't see others tables get it either. It's a shame because the show is what you are paying for. If you are just interested in good steak and seafood and don't care about the show, there are better options for the money. Still, I would visit again if I had guests that hadn't been to a Japanese steakhouse before. The fact that it is 10 minutes from my house is probably another reason I would visit again.
Really disappointed with their customer service. Dinner was served and I had taken a few bites when I noticed hair on my shrimp. Nothing kills an appetite like finding a short curly hair on your food. I showed the waitress and she said "oh so sorry", took my plate and offered me dessert. I said no thank you, since my appetite was lost. She disappeared again and was gone for a while - came back and apologized again while handing me my bill for $100.00 for 1 adult and a two children. I've work in the restaurant business and find the best approach is to remove the offending item from the bill since it was their mistake and I hadn't eaten hardly any of it. The kids enjoyed their meal, so I will give them 2 stars.
I usually enjoy my time at this restaurant especially for how nostalgic it is for me but I feel the need to say this. I went here with my friends this past Sunday and we were served by Lina. I went to the restroom first and the other server working asked my friends if they wanted water. My friends declined and I got back to our table. It took about 5-10 minutes for Lina to get back to our booth and take our drink orders. We were ready to order at the time so we placed our actual orders as well. Two of us got meals, and if you've been here before you know you get a soup or salad before a lunch. My friend and I both finished our soup before any of us got our drinks. It took her about 5 minutes to put our orders in, and she just left my friends drinks at the bar. I made eye contact to try and get her attention but she just smiled and walked away. I had to get the manager and asked for our drinks, thankfully she had Lina bring our drinks. A couple minutes later our food comes out and it is brought to us by the host and the other server in the restaurant. She checked in on us once right after we got our food and that was it. I asked for a to-go box and never ended up getting it as well, even after waiting for our checks to come back and pay our bills. I would understand if it was busy in the restaurant, but I used to work here and I know how things are run. I know that at most she had 2 tables and us, which isn't a lot at the restaurant. I was so embarrassed the entire time my friends and I were there due to the service after I had talked about how much I enjoy Kimono. Also my friend thought the shrimp portion was small and wants me to mention it.
My family has been to Kimonos a few times for special occasions & we were here for my 70th birthday last night. It didn’t start or end good. We were seated at the teppanyaki table where a party of 4 were seated. We were a party of 5 & were squished at the other end where my grandson had to sit at an added table behind the chef. Then there was an air conditioning vent blowing on us & we asked if they could do something about it, they did not. We ate with our coats on & our food got cold quickly from the cool air. The chef did not do a good job with dividing the portions evenly or entertaining The food was just ok & this was the worst experience I’ve had at this restaurant. For my 70th birthday dinner it was just very disappointing & sad.
