Tip: Call ahead for walk-ins to avoid private events or reservation-only situations. The Sunday brunch is highly recommended, especially the seafood and pasta station, but it's not cheap.

We held our company holiday party here over the weekend, and it was fantastic. The view was gorgeous, and Jasmine, the manager, was incredibly helpful throughout the event. We had a total of 95 RSVPs and reserved the patio, though in hindsight, a restaurant buyout might have been a better option since the space felt a bit cramped, especially as our guests wanted to dance. The staff was attentive and efficient, regularly clearing used dishes. The food was excellent, and the buffet setup worked well to accommodate our guests.
It was a very good Italian restaurant. Very few people actually dining there, I am not sure why on a Friday night. But the food was absolutely delicious and the service was very good. Server was very attentive, almost coming around too much to refill the drinks. Price was also very good. A very delicious personal pizza that two people can share was about $40 including drinks. That was a good price.
🌹 I have to tell you about this absolutely incredible restaurant 🍴 — hands down the best menu in the city. Their pasta instantly transports me back to Italy 🇮🇹! I chatted with the manager and learned that the pasta is specially custom-ordered and shipped straight from Italy, and the desserts 🍮 are authentic Italian exclusives. Everything here screams Italy! The manager and hosts treat you like family — please remember their names: Julio, Armando, and manager Ali. Truly like family ❤️ We’ve tried nearly the entire menu, and next time I’ll introduce the dishes one by one 🍷 Can’t wait to share more!
Their brunch is not cheap. $70 + tax + 18% gratuity =$91.60 per person. However I would say it was well worth it if you have the money to spend. They feed you lobster tails, king crabs and shrimp cocktail (all in cold), ane pasta station where you could order fresh pasta of your choice with lobster claws (hot). The dessert features mini macarons, which was my daughters favorite. To be honest it was no comparison to the carnival buffet you would expect in vegas. However the selection was just perfect for a Sunday brunch. The best above all was their service. Everyone was smiling, super attentive and very patient. Both my wife and I gave it a two thumbs up!
One of VITA’s biggest strengths is its commitment to fresh, local ingredients. According to their website, many of their produce items come directly from Cal Poly Pomona’s farm, which gives their menu a vibrant, seasonal feel. This isn’t just your average Italian-chain — there’s a genuine emphasis on quality and sustainability. Located inside the DoubleTree Hotel in Pomona, the restaurant has a classy yet approachable vibe. The patio overlooks the Pomona Valley, and guests often highlight the relaxed, warm decor and slightly elevated but not stuffy atmosphere. It’s a great setting for date nights, brunches, or small celebrations. Seafood lovers will appreciate dishes like lobster & shrimp tortelloni, which come in a garlic butter sauce, balancing richness with elegance. For something lighter, the Caprese salad is well-rated: fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, basil — simple but very well done. Their brunch is a big draw. Based on their own site, they run a Sunday brunch (11am–3pm) with stations for pasta, omelettes, carving, and more. Diners love the variety and the “bottomless” feel, especially when paired with mimosas. Vita Italian Bar & Grill in Pomona is a very strong choice if you want Italian cuisine with a modern, farm-fresh twist. It’s not your run-of-the-mill pizza-pasta diner — the food feels thoughtful, the sourcing is intentional, and the atmosphere strikes a nice balance of elegance and accessibility.
We got stuck after visiting from Texas and the black guy from the front I'm sorry I don't remember his name but the bald one took care of us and even gave us free breakfast which is a lot because three people for 3 days would have been over $ 100.00 the breakfast was amazing and also the beds were amazing the place was very clean and very luxurious we were scared to rent a hotel in Pomona but this place really was gorgeous and high class!
Vita Italian Grill in Pomona is absolutely outstanding! From the moment we walked in, the warm, inviting atmosphere made us feel right at home. The filet mignon ($68) was cooked to absolute perfection — tender, juicy, and bursting with flavor in every bite. The Caesar salad ($16) was crisp, fresh, and perfectly dressed, balancing the richness of the steak beautifully. Service was attentive and friendly without being overbearing, and every detail showed true care and passion for great food. A must-visit for anyone who loves exceptional Italian cuisine with top-notch service!
I was very pleasantly surprised by this spot. Beautifully decorated, modern & very classy! The bartender was very attentive & seemed to really enjoy his job.. The food was great! Really Great!!!..., I mean, I just got back from Italy & this restaurant blew it out of the water. / I'm definitely going back!
ALI the previous manager is back!!! We decided to give it another try for Father’s Day as the reviews were looking good after our bad experience. It was on point! They had half lobsters, large Maine lobster claws, crab and large shrimp! They also had a seafood boil and the most AMAZING short ribs you will ever eat! We knew something had significantly changed and then we saw ALI! He has made it even better than before! Daniel was our server and did an outstanding job keeping those mimosas full and clearing the many dishes we had! He has been there for years and always on point! Arely was also amazing as this girl was serving up those lobsters like a pro! Super friendly and always giving you what you wanted. Don’t be shy, just tell her what you need!❤️ Desserts are always on point! I would love to see some Dubai chocolate mousse. Bring that on Vita! Thank you again Ali for returning and making this place EPIC again!
Hidden Gem in East LA - Stunning Patio, Fresh Ingredients, & Unforgettable Gigli Pasta! 🍴Vita Italian is truly a hidden treasure in Pomona! From the moment you walk in, the resort-style ambiance with mountain views, open patio seating, and giant floor-to-ceiling windows make it feel like a vacation escape right in LA's Eastside. 🥬 What sets this place apart is their farm-to-table philosophy--all vegetables come straight from Cal Poly Pomona's own farm, and even the beer is house-brewed! The freshness is undeniable and elevates every bite. We ordered several dishes, and every single one was memorable: 🐟 Tuna Poke Cannoli: A fun and fresh twist--crunchy shell filled with buttery poke, paired with a citrusy yuzu kosho aioli and colorful veggie crudités. A flavor bomb! 🐙 Grilled Octopus: Perfectly charred, tender octopus served over a soft polenta cake, paired with blood oranges and a vinaigrette that added a bright, zesty contrast. 🍝 Gigli Mushroom Pasta with Roasted Chicken: The gigli pasta, shaped like little flower blossoms, was handmade and captured the sauce beautifully. Earthy mushrooms, garlic, white wine, and pecorino created a rich, balanced flavor, and the seared chicken breast added that hearty touch. It was my first time trying this pasta shape and I'm OBSESSED. 🧀 Charcuterie Board: Loved the selection of truffle cheese, cured meats, sweet melon with prosciutto, pistachio jam, and real honeycomb. So well curated! 🍮 Desserts: The Tiramisu was cloud-like with just the right espresso hit; the Chocolate Nocciola is a dream for Nutella lovers; and the Panna Cotta was creamy, silky, and surprisingly light--an elegant finish. 🌇The patio is filled with Instagrammable touches: a floral wall, statement peacock chairs, and perfect golden hour lighting. Ideal for date nights or brunch with friends. 🅿️ Bonus: Free parking, which is a huge win in LA! 🥳 Can't wait to come back, especially for their weekend brunch (all-you-can-eat with steak & seafood!). This spot is a must-visit if you're into fresh food, gorgeous views, and next-level pasta.
I dined at an Italian restaurant inside the DoubleTree hotel and had a fantastic experience. The restaurant was very clean, and the staff were nice and attentive. The food was amazing, and the drinks were excellent. The bathrooms, located right outside the restaurant, were also very clean. The view from our table was beautiful, offering an amazing view of the mountains. We visited during the day, but we will definitely be back in the evening to enjoy the view at sunset. Overall, a great experience!
We were there for the Sunday brunch. Our first visit, and we were very happy we had the chance to try it. it’s a great Italian restaurant, but on Sunday from 11 to 3 they do the Sunday brunch. Lots of different varieties of delicious food. Their Prime Rib and Tri Tip odd excellent and very delicious. They also have fresh oysters, also the pasta’s and Omelette station was fantastic! Amazing staff and very friendly. Mimosas remained topped up throughout the meal. We love it and we will be back again very soon.
Dinner here was a real treat! The atmosphere was welcoming and large windows offered great views! Our server, Nick, was very familiar with the menu and made good suggestions. The food - exceptional. We went with the Pesto Pasta and the portions were generous and delicious. We also shared a pizza and veggie appetizer and the veggies were fresh and the dressings and hummus tasted "home-made". I look forward to our next meal here!
Its a nice place for the area. Its a good place to have a small party. Food quality is okay, I came once for weekend brunch. There are various high end food, but sitting too long in the buffet table. Service was okay. Staff is less attentive in my opinion.
IG/TT @waitfoodfirst Vita Italian Grill is located in the double tree hotel in Pomona. They have tons of free parking and The vibe is more lively than intimate and a great place to out for a fun dinner. They have tons of pizzas and tender steaks but my favorite items were the pastas. They are made in house and you can really tell. I loved the rich meaty flavor of the bolognese pappardelle and the noodles were cooked perfectly.
Sunday brunch, arrived 1:30pm for booking. Not super busy which was great. Oysters, shrimp, king crab legs were fantastic! Missing Lemon a lot of the time we were there. Prime Rib and Tri Tip was delicious. Live pasta station and Omelette station was fantastic! The staff were super friendly especially Miguel serving us. Mimosas remained topped up throughout the meal. Wish the buffet had abit more variety though. It was quite limited and watermelons sitting in water isn’t very appetizing. Otherwise quality of the food is solid
Make sure to call ahead of time for walk-ins. You never know if there is a private event or reservations only. They keep to-go orders open though which I think is good if you're really just needing decent food for convenience. Sometimes the bar was kept open but only if the event wasn't a whole private buyout. Expect reservation cancellations on weekends near holidays or any month like November, December, and January. Mid-week days are usually safe even on holiday months unless it's Christmas or Thanksgiving.
I would give zero stars. Extremely disappointing and unprofessional experience. We reserved the private dining room at VITA Italian Bar & Grill well in advance for our office Christmas lunch. Everything was properly confirmed. The reservation date and time were confirmed via email, the selected menu was agreed upon, the minimum spend was confirmed, and we paid a $300 deposit to hold the private room for Thursday, December 18. On Monday of the same week, we called the restaurant again to reconfirm the reservation and menu. Everything was supposedly in order. When our party of 15 arrived, there was no one at the front desk to greet us. After finding an employee, it quickly became clear that our private dining room was not set up and was being occupied by other people using computers. The general manager, Ali, eventually came over and told us our table was ready in the main dining room, as if that had always been the plan. When we explained that we had reserved the private dining room, he dismissed our claim. We then showed him the email confirmations clearly proving the reservation, yet he never apologized and instead blamed us for the mistake, even though the proof was right in front of him. With a very poor attitude, he said we could still have the private room but would need to wait an additional 20 minutes for it to be set up, after we had already waited about 15 minutes just trying to get help. At that point, we declined and sat in the main dining room. As we walked away, he muttered under his breath that he was not the idiot who made the mistake, which was completely unprofessional and unacceptable behavior for a general manager. Unfortunately, the experience continued to go downhill. Once seated, our server appeared confused about our party and told us that Ali had seated us at the wrong table, which was actually reserved for another party of 17. Service was extremely slow, drink and food orders took an excessive amount of time, and we were given only one server for a party of 15. At no point did Ali return to our table to apologize, check on us, or attempt to make things right. His attitude alone made the experience miserable, and based on his conduct, he should not be in a customer facing management position. To make matters worse, multiple staff members privately complained to us about how poorly he treats both guests and employees. I do not recommend this restaurant for any group event or honestly any visit unless there is a change in management. A reservation with a deposit and written confirmation should mean something, and basic professionalism should be the bare minimum. Will never dine there again.
Made a dinner reservation weeks in advance for December 13 for an annual holiday dinner for 4. Received a call from Vita restaurant on December 12 at 6:00 p.m. letting me know that the restaurant was reserved for a large party and that we would have to sit in a less desirable area in the front of the restaurant, and that it would be loud and noisy, and service would be slow. In other words they would prefer I cancel my reservation. This is the holiday season and securing a reservation at another nice restaurant in less than 24 hours would be impossible. They tried to say that their reservation system glitched and should not have accepted our reservation. Wrong! Obviously the larger party reserved last minute and they prefer to accommodate them and screw all the other smaller reservations! Says a lot about their integrity! Shame on you Vita!
Last-Minute Holiday Cancellation of Reservation for 10 (Dec 13) To Management, I am writing to express extreme frustration and disappointment regarding how your restaurant handled our reservation. We booked a table for 10 people over a month in advance, and I even called on Tuesday to confirm. Yet, less than one day before our reservation, I received a message from Ali telling us you had a “buyout” and would no longer honor our booking. Canceling on customers at the last possible moment is unacceptable under any circumstances — but doing this during the Christmas and holiday season, when restaurants are fully booked and it becomes nearly impossible to find last-minute availability, is beyond unprofessional. It shows a complete disregard for customers’ time and commitments. Your team’s explanation — that someone else had a reservation “months earlier” — does not justify your lack of communication or your failure to notify us sooner. If that were true, your system should never have allowed our reservation in the first place. Instead, we were left scrambling with less than a day’s notice during the busiest dining season of the year. This experience was disrespectful, avoidable, and reflects extremely poor management. I expect a written explanation and acknowledgment of this failure, as well as clarity on how you intend to prevent this from happening to other guests. Sincerely, Cesar Moreno
