11-APR-2024 This is a Crawfish review. Crawfish are excellent! My new top 2 place. Medium size in a garlic butter boil mix. $20/2 lbs, comes with 2 corn & 2 potatoes. Not fishy. Cooked to perfection, including the corn & potatoes. Don't fire the cook! Julie was our bartender, she's great. We are definitely coming back for 5 lbs. Daytime bar crowd is talkative and nice. I highly recommend the crawfish at Pier 36 restaurant. 27-APR-2024 The crawfish are still rockin' and Emmy Rose at the bar is super fun ; )

Always very good. Most times we order one of the specials. Service is always excellent. Gets busy during regular hours, so this past time we took the opportunity to go at 4 PM, mostly as a very late lunch, but it was almost full by 5:30 PM. Never had a bad dish, or one improperly prepared. Consistently very good. Nice little bar if that is your thing. It's Texas, so (of course) individual portion sizes start at huge and range all the way up to "easily feeds two people." Their hush puppies are better than most of the local BBQ joints (i.e., they are not greasy). It's exactly like a great little hole in the wall joint, except it's not little nor is it a hole in the wall. Just very good seafood. If you're in the area, don't miss it. UPDATE: It's been a while since we last visited, avoiding being in crowded restaurants, but we were in the area, and hungry, so we dropped in. Menu now three times the size it used to be, and the food is just as good or better. Many of the items that used to be favorite specials are now regular menu items. The Oysters on the Half Shell are as good as any other restaurant in the greater Houston area that I have reviewed (or not). They are huge and FRESH. Service here is spectacular. They serve food at the bar as well; while we were visiting, there was a steady stream of drinkers and eaters (mostly single diners). Be sure to pay attention to the specials on the board when you come in, or ask about them; they are consistently "special" (meaning mostly not on the regular menu) and a good value. If you ever see Stuffed Flounder or Rainbow Trout Pontchartrain or anything Florentine be sure not to miss them.

What an amazing find this restaurant was! The restaurant had a nice relaxed atmosphere. The staff was attentive. We ordered the fried calamari, it was one of the best calamari dishes we ever had. Fried to perfection and the marinara sauce was full of flavor. For our main course we ordered the Grilled shrimp Isabella and the Fulshear Pasta both dishes were delicious. We will definitely return to try the rest of the menu.

Texas Boy

This place is great. Now if don't mind having absolutely no lights outside in the parking lot and off the beaten path, then this is the spot. I had 2 lemon drops. (Thank you, Emme, they were perfect as bartender). As I as appetizers, we had had the dozen oysters stuffed with crab meat and spinach as well as the crab meat mushrooms (5) with cheese sauce on the side. As well as the Bourdain balls (5) with fries. The mushrooms were so good I had one left before I realized that I had not taken a picture. I had the blackened catfish and shrimp. It also comes with a side salad. The entree was ho hum. Too many other varieties to choose from. I had not been there in 5 years. So it was worth a revisit. Hint: skip the blackened option for any entree and keep it mind there might be a wait since no other restaurants nearby. But definitely worth the drive to Richmond.

When they are on..they are on! The food and service has been exceptional. Unfortunately, we had issues with 3 takeout orders. One time the offered to drive to meet me. Was not going to work due to schedule. Dine in perfection. Check your takeout especially if you requested a substitution. We'll keep going back.

Went here while in town visiting a friend. There was about a half hour wait, but it was a Saturday. The tables are a little too close to one another for me. The food was amazing, though! I got the homemade house dressing (I forget what it was) and it was so good I wanted to ask to get some to go! I had crab cakes, which were delicious. I would definitely go back if I were in the area.

Cramped and suffocating! This place is packed to the walls every Friday night. The food? Utterly bland. Presentation swings wildly between passable and pathetic, landing squarely on basic. The only redeeming quality is the servers, who bring genuine warmth and friendliness to an otherwise disappointing experience. Don't expect choices with your entrée. Your side options are limited to rice pilaf that's it. Want vegetables? Prepare to pay extra for what should be a standard offering

We've eaten here a few times and it's been hit and miss. Today was mostly a miss - the kids chicken tender's breading is peppery, so my son couldn't eat it. I think they use the same breading for all meals, which other restaurants we frequent do not do for kids meals. We also tried the Fish and Chips, which was gross - tiny slivers of cod enveloped in so much batter it resembled a giant log. The shrimp poboy bread also tasted bad to a couple of us. So far everyone likes the popcorn shrimp, and the shrimp dinners have been good. Overall, it's too expensive for my family of seven to leave with half the family disappointed. We'll probably make this our "shrimp dinner" restaurant, as my wife says it most resembles New Orlean's style than any others around.

After many recommendations we were disappointed 😞. 1>Servers were friendly and very attentive. 2>Facility was nice, restrooms clean, and drinks strong. The good stopped there ✋️ Crawfish were still small which I get but not flavorful. It didn't taste like they soaked them or seasoned them well (on the inside) AT ALL. I ordered spicy and it gave Tabasco n salt. My husband ordered mild and it literally tasted like seasoned water. I asked for extra juice and had to drown each tail for some flavor. Quite a bit of them were mushy and when you suck the head there is absolutely no juice. The shrimp were overcooked so we choked on a few pieces of shell that were stuck on. Andouille sausage (which we love) were salty and potatoes were hard in the center with no seasoning. Corn also overcooked. We waited to eat- so we ate em. They aren't just nasty but nothing to rave about and I'd never go back.

The interior needs remodeling. It's too dark ànd drab. The walls, tables, and floors are dark and outdated. My food was mediocre. I had the stuffed mushroom appetizer, which came covered with this cream sauce, that was totally unnessasary and took away from the taste of the mushrooms. It arrived cold and I sent it back. I also had the fried stuffed peppers. They were average at best. But both items tasted processed. My drink was pretty good. My husband had the gumbo, which he said were good, and the fried fish and fries and salad that he enjoyed, and said the cilantro dressing was amazing! Our server was very nice and attentive. Their bathrooms were also very clean. Would I dine here again? Probably not.

Went early on a Friday (5PM-ish), which appears to be senior citizen happy hour. The nice thing about this time is that we were seated immediately; later parties had a wait. The decor was surprising in its modesty. While we thought about dinner, I had a Jameson-pickleback and my wife had a chardonnay. Both were fine. For my dinner, I had shrimp and grits, which was also fine. My wife had something forgettable. Coming away, we didn't find faults but it wasn't as amazing as friends had led us to believe. The experience was average, which in context is a bit disappointing after the build up. The food and atmosphere was simple, which I do like. Don't expect a Michelin star and fancy, but do expect decent food in a clean location.

McDonald Dorothy

Will go in top five of worst experiences. Was in area thought we would try based on reviews. Started with clam chowder. Hearty and delicious. Hubby ordered tuna. Had to return because it was cooked well done. 2nd tuna waiter dropped at table and left. Cooked well done again. Hubby was hungry and tried to suffer through it. Could not finish. When sauce was scraped off noticed it was a pre-cooked frozen filet. When waiter finally appeared again we showed him tuna and hubby told him how hungry he was but couldn’t eat it. Was asked if he’d like something else. He asked for cup of gumbo. Final straw was to get bill. Tuna taken off but charged for the gumbo. After 30 minutes of waiting and 2 horrible meals we felt the least they could do was comp a cup of soup. Manager-guess there was not one on duty as they never bothered to appear. Service was bad as waiter was a constant disappearing act. Between food, service lack of apologies, etc. made for a horrible experience.
