When I drive down US Hwy 79 I lower my windows any time I am about to drive past this place during their business hours because I cannot wait to almost creepily deep inhale that absolutely delicious smelling smoke into my nostrils as many times as I can manage before the opportunity is gone. Also, the taste is as good as the smell. The food goes in my mouth though, not my nose.

Best quesadillas in round rock. The salsa, guacamole, and sour cream are an added bonus. Friendly staff and great food. I also recommend buying the 8oz Verde salsa to add to your dishes at home.

So I love this place. I come here at least once a month. I get the 2 piece chicken with rice no beans. The chicken is seasoned really well. The rice is good also. I have eaten here over 10 times since moving here. They do simple right. The place is not premier dining but if you want a good lunch and affordable($8) check it out. I love the atmosphere of the place and it has a real blue-collar feel to it. Which I love and the patrons are all pretty chill.

We went in May 2021 but i just got around to writing a review. Very good chicken, we ordered some while there and some to-go for our 8-hour trip home. The green salsa is delicious as is the red salsa. The staff was very busy when we were there but they were very helpful and friendly. The bathroom was in need of cleaning and general repairs, tho. There were no hand towels, i did tell the cashier but she seemed overwhelmed, so I don't know if the towels were replenished before we left.

The food is always consistently good and probably one of the closest places to actual Mexican food in Round Rock. The drive-thru line gets pretty long and the wait can be annoying but the food is worth it, and their agua Frescas are pretty good too!

You can smell the food before you even get to the building and it smells amazing. Food is always hot, fresh and tasty. You can't go wrong with anything you decide to order. Only thing that sucks is they pulled my go to item "Papas Rica's". Those carne asada fries were SOOO good, please bring them back or let customers order if they ask! Pretty please lol

One of my favorite places, awesome food everything on the menu is good. This location seems to be faster than other locations. The nachos are a family favorite and it’s enough to share with another person.

First time here and this place has amazing food.. the staff were friendly even though the lady barely spoke English, she was still smiling and very friendly. Food was great. Tables were clean. Floor was clean and swept. Bathrooms were clean.

Lots of bad reviews about service, but I've been a number of times now and haven't had a bad experience once. The food has been fantastic every time. Hard to beat the value on the whole grilled chicken and when it can be hard to find appetizing, healthy options nowadays, it is a great options to have and not one you'll find at every Tex-mex restauraunt.

Everything was delicious 😋 except when I ordered my drink (Jamaica) it wasn't sweet at all. Hopefully they check up on there drinks next time I order.

I just love El Pollo Rico their food has always been very tasty 😋 When I drive up to the drive thru window the smell of the parrilla transports me back to my Abuelita house in México. I highly recommend this place for some great delicious Mexican fast food. 🫶

This is a good break from all those burgers, and fries. The smoked chicken was juicy, rice flavorful. The pico de gallo and the jalapeno sauce out of the world. The Jalapeno sauce so good i just dipped all the chicken with it, even ate the fries with the sauce. I will come here again for the Jalapeno sauce and fresh juicy chicken. The whole onion that was smoked was yumm. Loved it.

It has really good food and their Rico bowl is a large bowl of food at a flat $7 with everything you could want in it. The only downside is that there is so much smoke coming off of that nice smelling charcoal grill that it overwhelms you. Luckily they have a drive through window for that.

3.5 rating. I got three beef tacos, chips and salsa, and a water for $9.71. Not bad. For a chicken joint they did not have chicken tacos, I thought that was odd. The place wasn't as clean as I would expect. The service and food are good though. The smell of the charcoal grill from the road is amazing too. The chips are the thicker kind that I don't care for but we're good - they only give you two small boats of them but they brought my order to my table and offered more. The salsa bar selections are good too. They do have beers too. Next time I'll try a half chicken diner.

The food here is always delicious. The main downside is the incredibly long wait for everything ... even if it's just one item off of the menu it is usually a 10-15 minute wait whether you're eating inside or at the drive-thru. Staff can be quite unfriendly from time to time. The last time we went, the waitress rudely tapped her fingers the entire time she waited on us to order. We still keep coming back because the food is so worth it!

It took me a long time to give this place a chance. I dont know why, but I've past this place at least 100 times over the past couple of years and never have tried it. Well I finally gave this place a shot after it was suggested by a friend. I was not disappointed. The chicken tacos are delicious! Some of the best flavorful chicken tacos I've ever had and its from a fast food place. The only reason I am giving 4 stars instead of 5 stars, is the prices/quantity of the taco. The tacos are very small and I need at least 3 to get full. For $3 a taco, I'd expect a lot more meat on the taco. Other than that, I have not been disappointed and have returned 4 times within a month.

Inside was extremely large and setup like a restaurant so it holds a lot of people. It was extremely busy on a Sunday afternoon, and the staff did well turning around food for dinners and drive thru, along with cleaning up when able. We got 2 piece white meat which comes with barracho beans, rice, tortillas, a breast and a wing. The chicken was juicy with great flavors, and the red and green sauces were on point. Only oddity is that the place had a smell when you walked in.

Their specialty is rotisserie chicken but do al carbon too. I have to give them a little bit of a hit that their chicken is not as good as it once was. I don't think they changed anything other than their chicken vendor. Probably to save money but yet they are more expensive than they used to be now. Also, I don't speak very good Spanish show my order has been wrong a few times. I don't go anymore because of it

Had the Rico beef bowl. The meat was so tender and fantastic!! Red beans were really good. Mom had the chicken enchiladas, they were a bit spicy for her. Beef was great though. 💙 Nice people working there.

The food here is awesome. My kids love the rice and flautas and my husband and I really like everything we've tried. So much so that we really don't mind the wait in the drive thru. But if you have never been there, be prepared, it's longer than you think it's going to be.

Delicious food most of the time! Just don't come here at night or you'll get an amazing main with hours old, cold rice and beans. Definitely recommend eating here for lunch though when food is being made fresh and the staff isn't eager to close.

Enjoyed the tacos and the papa however the meat was not hot or even warm. It may have been because it was 8:30 and they close soon after. Hopefully it will not happen again for I truly did not like to reheat my orders.

First time there today. Order in drive thru the Tia was nice. The whole chicken family meal for 24.99 was the way we went today. Came with tortillas corn, salsas, and 2 sides. The two side we went with was rice and refried beans. So hungry we doubled the order. First the chicken is piping hot and the smell is mmmmm so ready to devour. But first grace!!! Grace!!! Amen the chicken BURSTING with FLAVOR WAY BETTER then Crazy Chicken. The juiciness of the chicken and the spice from the green sauce balances the deliciousness. The side were small in my opinion so that’s my only gripe but for 24 dollars it’s worth it. The rice is just rice nothing to write home about. The refried beans are better then the can but definitely not better then the way tu mama makes it. The sides are as big as the side of a 5 piece meal with two regular sides at Popeyes. If you know you know!!! I was expecting the sides that come with Popeyes Family meal. Again that was my expectation, but what they lacked they made up in service, flavor and price.

This was my first time trying El Pollo Rico. I had a craving for a baked potato so did a search and found their Papa Asada ($9.99) which comes with cheese, meat, sour cream and jalapeño. I ordered thru the drive thru and the attendant was nice. I also ordered a small chips and salsa ($3.19). There was 1 car ahead of me and I waited for only a minute. The ladies at the window were smiling and had a friendly demeanor. I had my poodle with me and they seemed to enjoy his presence. A little smile goes a long way with regard to customer service and weighs heavy when I’m reviewing. The potato was a little undercooked but not a deal breaker as it was very tasty. The beef was plentiful but dry to my taste which is why I gave it a 4 star. The chips and salsa were great and real crispy but the amount of salsa they give is very little. I look forward to trying their signature chicken plate and others if that goes well.

Food is good chicken is great, but a lot of the items are OVERPRICED. They generally don't keep up with the inside. Some Soft Drinks have been down a couple times with no availability to fix them. It would be 4stars but I've been here enough and had different scenarios

The food is very good, but my experience through the drive thru today was upsetting. I noticed some white colored paint spilled with tire tracks as I was driving through to the window. Not knowing exactly what it was or if it was still wet I proceeded on. Only to find out when I got home it got all over my right side front and back tires. I tried going through a car wash and not all came off and now dried to the rubber of my tires and back splash.

Normally give a 5 for them but today was not good. Ordered a burger for the first time and was highly disappointed. Bum was hard and dry on top amd soggy on the bottom. Fries were way undercooked. Spoke with the manager when I called in and he really didn't seem to care that I hrew the food away. I will take the drive to the other one from now on.

They were totally out of pastor, which isn’t a big deal to me if it was just for the day, but the way the drive-thru worker phrased it was “We don’t have pastor”, even though it was clearly on the menu. Overall, fine experience and good food. I got chicken nachos and I wish that there was more chicken on them, but they were still good.

This is a review for the drive through window service. We pulled up to the speaker, but workers were mowing the lawn so we couldn’t hear anything. The workers also blew grass into our car. Eventually a guy came outside to tell us to just pull up to the window to order. We did, and he seemed quite unfamiliar with the menu. He was friendly though. We ordered two #13 tostada plates. The good news is it was fresh and made to order, but it did take at least 7-8 minutes to get our food while cars piled up behind us. The food was good overall, I’d rate it a 4/5. It was a little over $12 for just the two meals without drinks or sides, so definitely reasonably priced. I don’t know for sure if I’d come back given there’s lot of delicious Tex mex in the area I could order out from instead.

My friend and I ordered the half of a chicken meal and they literally cut the meat off of the breast and the thigh. Like it was barely any chicken on it like it was so thin!!! The refried beans are like liquid and the rice is bland. The chicken had good flavor but they definitely cheat you out of money and food! I tried calling up there multiple times and nobody picked up the phone. Like I expect an entire chicken breast. Not a piece of one and I expect a whole thigh not a piece of it. Definitely check your food before you leave cuz they scammed me.

Pretty good just be careful if you have any teeth issues because they chop the chicken meat up and put everything in. I eat here once a week and have to spit chicken bones out while I am eating my burrito. Cooks probably are careless but that doesnt really excuse them. Someone higher up in their management must do quality control.

First impression, When we walked in, we smelled cleaners mixed bathroom ordor!🤢 Thank God! It dissipated. So, I used hand sanitizer instead of going into the ladies room. JP ordered the Chicken Special: 2PC Dark meat with charro beans, rice, and corn tortillas with a drink, for only $8.08. I ordered the Gordita with Beef, for $8.08. I enjoyed it. JP gives them ⭐️⭐️⭐️, inspite of a few negatives, because he really enjoyed his chicken, beans, and rice. However, the corn tortillas were rubbery. And, before we ate, he went to wash his hands in the men's bathroom, and customers refused to flush after themsves. We pointed out to the staff, we were unable to choose the seat by the window, because several tables, including that one, were left uncleaned. This doesn't make since, because the restaurant was 98% empty. Green salsa was extremely hot!🌶🌶🌶. Were very grateful for the complimentary sour cream. And, the chocolate Tres Leche cake wasn't bad, either. That's why I too, give you three ⭐️⭐️⭐️.

1. Ordered 2 meals, got charged for the drinks separately.. Returned our $ 2. Asked for guacamole, got charged extra, got home and there was none. 3. One of the sodas was out, found out when we got home. 4. Hamburger bread, burned. Guy and girl at window were nice but maann it's not the first time our order is wrong. Hope management takes their time to look into this store.

I absolutly LOVE El Pollo Ricko. But this location might just have to be the WORST of them. Instead of lime they give lemon, and when you ask for corn tortilla's they give you flour. It screws up the entire authentic flavor. I mean how can you sell tacos with out lime? and how could you own a taco restaurant and now have corn and flour. I was here back in 2020 and they blamed the virus. But now I see the owner of this particular one just doesn't care about the authentic flavors. I will not go back to this one, but instead travel a bit to the food truck on Dessau or just head to the OG on Rundberg. I would have given 1 star but the staff was so frendly I added a seconf star. its not their fault the manager/owner is cheaping out on us.

Food is pretty decent but drive-through is terrible. Don't even bother going through the drive-through during their busy times if you're even somewhat limited on time. On more than one occasion the drive-through has forgotten something in my order. One time it was the tortillas another time it was the rice in a combo. Last time they forgot to put the pineapple and ham in the "Mexican burger" which is the only thing that sets it apart from any other burger. Bottom line: Either eat inside where you can have mistakes fixed on the spot or only go through the drive through when they're not busy.

The food is delicious but the service is bad. I've been here three times and the staff has been rude or dismissive every time. I also can't eat onions so I ask them to omit the onions when preparing the order. All three times, they still added the onions. They package the food poorly. The dining room is filthy with trash spilling out of the garbage. The tables are grimy and not cleaned regularly. I tried this place three times. Three strikes, unfortunately. I wanted to love this place and it DOES taste good but the establishment needs more work. I won't be returning any time soon.

The location off 79 was awful I had to wait while both registers were being counted at the same time while the line got longer on a Sunday after church...then I ordered the chicken taquitos and I swear they don't use the pollo Rico chicken for these were dry and tasteless, no flavor at all, then they pile a salad on top of them, how am I really supposed to eat these? I generally love their green sauce but on this day we were all fighting for water as our mouths were a burning inferno....just to find out the water from their fountain machine is clearly not filtered, but pure faucet water-No thanks, this just added to the negative experience we had, needless to say they 1/2 chicken meal was on pt as always....to top it off they decided top mop the floor with mops that drenched it with water and we literally had to wait to use the restroom for fear of slipping and falling....I had my mother with me and didn't want to take the chance of that happening. Unfortunately I will not return to this location since I threw my plate in the trash after paying 10.00 and had to find an alternative meal elsewhere!

OMG, I would have gotten better food from Taco Bell for half the cost. Bought to Taco plates for 21.00 and change. In styrofoam containers .2 pathectic tacos about 2 teaspoons of refired beans an about the same of dried up rice. Never go back again. Youve been warned.

Omg yesterday my husband and I had a small order via drive thru. It was okay. Today we decided to try it again, but decided to eat inside. We were hesitant in the beginning but then said wth. We ordered the Carne Asada and the Chicken Quesadilla at this fast food restaurant. The Carne Asada was fair although somewhat dry. My son commented that his Quesadila was quite good. However, the service was extremely rude. We paid $29 for the meal in advance and the cashier gave a less than friendly glare when we didn't leave a tip. They didn't serve the food, but hollered out a number and we picked it up at the counter. My son asked nicely for hot sauce and the same cashier handed it to him with a roll of her eyes and quite a nasty sneer. The food was served in boxes with flimsy plastic utensils. Based on the rudeness of the staff we didn't feel comfortable sitting there, so we ate 2/3 of the food and walked out. We noticed one of the staff clearing a couple of the tables. That same rude cashier then followed my son to the door and aggressively demanded that he come back inside and clear the table. Bottom line for us this El Pollo Rico location is one to steer clear of.

The staff is incredibly rude. They just looked and turned away. Didn’t say anything. Not how can i help or just one second please. Nothing. And they have the nerve to have tip jars out. I was about to leave when they finally acknowledged my presence.

Karla is very rude in the drive thru, I don't know Spanish so I was trying to get my Google translate on so I could ask her about a menu item and she quickly said "go ,go ,go ,I dont know English bye". Yall have got to retrain her with some customer service skills ,she lacks them.! Other than that food was great!

I had the horrible experience of finding chewed gum in my soup. I am so disappointed and upset.

Every time I buy large orders at least one item is missing. Today sweet plantains is missing…last time it was churros…everyone it is hard to open all 5 bags of food in the drive through…. Also those servers on drive through is very Rude….. I am not going to order from this location at more….

Pollo Regio, 79 Palm Valley, Roundrock, Tx First and last time here. Me and my family met here so that my hubby could meet his grandbaby after a month of her birth due to bad allergies etc. We sat and as we ate we were conversating about how we've been and how things are going. When my other grandbaby (not the new born) starts making weird noises. We continued talking and as I look over to her to see what she want, I see a roach on her quesadilla 🤢🤮. I ask for the manager‼️ The cashier who helped us comes over and says "Can I help you?". Told her "Yes, there's a roach!" Cashier replies "Okay, but it's not in the food". 🙄 By this point it crawled out of the quesadilla onto the table. Told her "it was just on my grandbabys quesadilla and who knows what else". Also, if a roach is out crawling in the dining area can you imagine how it is in the kitchen. VERY RUDE ABOUT IT THEN THE BACK CREW COMES OUT AND START TALKING AMONG EACH OTHER AND SAY " IF THEY WANT THEIR MOMEY BACK THEY CAN'T TAKE NOTHING". THEY PROCEED WITH PICKING UP OUR DRINKS. WHO THE FUXX WANTS TO TAKE ANYTHING AFTER SEEING THAT IN AND AROUND OUR FOOD🤢🤮🤦🏻‍♀️

They don't speak ANY English and messed my order up and I couldn't get it fixed because they can't understand me. Upsetting and will never go back but some people like it I suppose.

I like the flavor of the chicken soup. The first time I ordered it I was still hungry after because the soup had no veggies just two pieces of chicken that’s it. The second time I went I had no choice I bought some for my daughter to take home. I told them what happened previously and again got no veggies at all. The soup is lacking.

I ordered the burrito with little rice , no lettuce, no guacamole. I get a burrito with everything I didn't ask for. Took it back and they still messed up my order. Never going there again. They acted like they didn't understand me the second time. Food was trash.
