I stop and grab the lunch special on Saturday every chance I get. Ropa vieja is one of my favorites and tastes delicious! It's a small space but perfect for grab & go with great assortment of options to choose from in RR area.
This place was sparkling clean and filled with unique and tasty treats perfect for breakfast, snack, or lunch. The lady was cheerful and pleasant. Definitely check it out, we are fortunate to have places like this, so support them. I had a chicken filled pastry and beef filled one. Both were perfectly seasoned and delicious with flakey pastry shaped like a cute little pie. I also had a very tasty ham and cheese croquette and bought a delicious looking Napolean that I will share a photo of when I eat it. 😋 And here is the photo of Napolean the next day, eaten this morning with coffee in a Christmas mug. These are nice holiday treats! I can't wait to go back and try more goodies. Wow, I just noticed some people wrote some very mean-spirited reviews attacking this small business! The quality and the flavor of this food was excellent and the prices were so reasonable that when I realized I forgot my wallet, I was still able to find enough loose change in my car to cover the cost! Total perfection only exists in our memories of the places we wish we hadn't left.... and the most homesick people I have noticed are always the least satisfied. Also a small business like this does not always have lots of staff to cover if someone gets sick or has a family emergency.
Tasty ham croqueticas (mini croquetas)! They're small so I'd suggest getting three each person for lunch instead of only two like I did. The guava pastry was also exactly what I was looking for. Soft and flaky.
We stopped by for lunch and their Cuban sandwich, maduros, and tostones were delicious! So nice to have authentic Cuban food near by. We will definitely be back!
Nice inviting staff, and presentation! This is a must go to stop when I visit North Austin. I live in Dallas and my son asks me to bring food home from here 🩷. Beef empanadas, the desserts, the love they put in the food 🤤
Great sandwiches and empanadas, but I go there for the flan. Rich and not cloyingly sweet. So rich one piece is enough for two.
Amazing authentic food! Pictured are tamales, flan, beef empanadas, Media Noche (sandwich), which were fantastic. Sandwich Cubano is also wonderful, if you prefer sweeter bread. Also, a picture of their wonderful bakery case. Only one con: with its increasing popularity, unless you get their early you may not get much of a selection. The bakery opens at 8am daily and is closed Mondays. They are opened later (till 6pm) Thursday thru Saturday.
We’ve been meaning to try this place and I’m so glad we finally did! The sandwhich was hot and fresh! It was so packed and delicious! It had a nice crisp, better than the ones I’ve had in Florida! The guava and cheese pastry was so good and flakey! Wonderful service!

Interesting variety of pastries that you can't typically find. Definitely a place to stop and try something new.
This is the ONLY Cuban place in the area that's authentic. They have the best guava pastries.
Love this place! I always get beef empanadas and the Cortadito!!! :)
I'm from Florida, so I've had a lot of good Cuban food, and this place ROCKS. I would say the media noche is the best I have had outside of Miami. Do NOT skip the pastelitos!! The guava and cheese is my favorite 😋
Upon entering this quaint little establishment, I was greeted promptly and was given a great summary of the food on display. I was hankering for a good cup of coffee and pastries to go with it. I gotta say, the pastries with the cream cheese was delectable, and the beef empanadas were scrumptious. The Ham croquet was good. The highlight of my visit was the Cafe con leche. It was sweet, creamy, and had that distinctive Cuban coffee flavor. It definitely hit the spot. This place also serves lunch, and I will be returning to try their sandwiches.
It's a simple place with delightful treats. I had a couple of meat pies (not official terminology) and a round potato ball with meat in the middle. Delicious!!!
What an amazing little secret! Outstanding BBQ and breakfast options made in a traditional Cuban style. Only drawbacks are if you're not a fluent Spanish speaker, you may have trouble ordering and there's a bit of wait but, this place is so very delicious. Highly recommended.

We've been driving by for years and decided to try the place out. We got there at 2pm and they close at 3pm on Sunday. Apparently, most items were sold out. They are not a bakery. Looks like they bake their own bread? We ordered the Cuban. It was a large sandwich. Maybe it was an off day? Staff was super nice. The place looks like it hasn't been touched since the shopping center was built 50 plus years ago? We were hoping for so much more. Looks like there's a great wig shop next door!

I’ve seen Cuban Sandwiches before and eaten them a whole bunch, but this is a new one for me. Granted we’re in Austin which doesn’t have a huge Cuban demographic but this could’ve been done better and for the price I paid for $$$ And that’s was just have the sandwich. HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED 👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽 This picture speak for themselves.
They were closed. I was there 10-15 mins before the closing time they had posted on Google. As you can see from the picture...there also were no times listed in their sign. I suggest an edit of your hours, and put your time as closed before you actually close. Such a waste of time and gas money trying... especially when people can't trust your hours.
Hi, Cuban here.. from Miami. Not a single thing on the menu is authentic. They just slapped Cuban names on it, and called it a day. Sandwiches are awful.. and lacking just about everything. If I was rating it as a regular bakery, they'd get 2/5 stars.. but as a Cuban bakery?? I'd give it a 0. Go find yourself a Pinecrest Bakery in Miami, and try some authentic Cuban sandwiches.

Place appeared dirty. Everything looked grimy and outdated. No posted hours on door. Service was not friendly. I guess they have regulars they cater to? You have to either speak Spanish or be really (!) clear about what you want. They offered no suggestions or made any attempt to clarify their offerings. Ended up ordering the cuban sandwich. Hardly any meat, bread stale, barely hot after waiting 40 minutes for it. Not cheap for a very cheap, low class experience. Too bad.
To start off the lady there is very dry and lacks manners but it was the closest Cuban spot for cities since there are not many. The Cuban sandwich was ok but the rest of the food was not fully cooked especially the ham croquettes. I showed her that they were and she got upset and instead of remaking them she automatically just refunded me without asking! Mind u I drove an hour to this spot Becuase of the reviews! I got so sick and was back and forth in the bathroom for hours! Their tamales 🫔 and croquettes got me so sick I’m NEVER going back there!
