Ordered to go and it didn't disappoint.. I've lived in Austin since 2011 and this is my first time trying ThunderCloud Subs.. I have tried other sandwich places and so far this is on my top 3 list.. I'm not big on eating sandwiches per se, so when I see something unique on the menu, I'd almost always try it.. Will come back here just for this sandwich..

This is our go to spot during the week, before my Daughter's Kung Fu classes. The staff is always friendly, and it's been a good environment for my Daughter to lean how to place food orders and not feel overly pressured. We've had a variety of sandwiches, salads and smoothies. All have been exactly as we've ordered, and really good.

I want to start by saying that I love ThunderCloud! I ordered online to pick up sandwiches because I had been moving all day and I wanted something fast and good. I waited in the car until the time my order said it would be ready before heading inside, only to discover that while my order was in the system, the printer had failed to print and the staff was unaware of my order so my sandwiches were not ready. They asked me to wait and made our food quickly. I was exhausted and hungry and not thrilled about waiting but I sat quietly until the food was ready for me to take home. As usual it was delicious and hit the spot perfectly. Again, I love ThunderCloud but next time I'll order directly from the counter and if I need to pick up and take home, I'll consider something else

We love supporting small businesses and this wasnt bad - didnt blow my socks off but ok. Ideally because of all the sauces you need a better bread but oh well. Definitely had a homemade taste but again my biggest complaint was how soggy it made the sandwhich. Symphony was awesome service was great. Environment was cool too. The other worker came shaking rugs next to us as we ate so i was not happy with that. Overall not bad. Cool wall decor and vibe was vibin!

I asked for a Lady Bird, and wasn't really watching them make it.... and they forgot the Bacon and the Guacamole..... thats like the whole point of the sandwich lol pretty bummed. When made right, the Lady Bird is Unmatched!

t-cloud subs one of my faves but like this location sux. The last year or so when I go there, the meat too thin like what am I some kinda swamp rat looking for scraps or sumthin!? Nah miss me with that weaksauce. I drive to pfville for some decent meat.

One star for the indignant ego of the employee who made my Austin Club. Sometime around 6 to 7 pm Tuesday, I got an Austin Club. The guy put onions on the sandwich, but as he was laying down tomatoes, his thumb accidentally pushed the onion a little tiny bit in on one side. I tried to tell him, but he cut me off and interrupted my multiple times, literally having the gall to challenge my very intelligence with statements such as "the onions are under the tomatoes" like I didn't just watch him put them on, without ever listening long enough to hear that I was just trying to point out that on one side specifically, there was no onion on the very edge because his thumb pushed it in. He then had the nerve to rectify the issue by getting more onion and just spreading it all across the top of the lettuce he put down, even as I was explaining that it was only the one end multiple times, and then he just proceeded to explain to me that the original onion was actually under the tomatoes, as if that had any relevance to what I was saying. I didn't make a scene, because I didn't want to be a male Karen, but I think I should have told him off for interrupting me, because he utterly refused to listen to the most basic request out of clear frustrated ego.

I’ve been eating at ThunderCloud for over 20 years, and I never thought I’d be writing a review like this. The quality and service have gone downhill so badly that it’s barely recognizable from what it used to be. If you enjoy finding hair in your food, dealing with rude staff, or getting your order messed up more often than not, this is definitely the place for you. Unfortunately, the consistency and pride that once made ThunderCloud great just aren’t there anymore. After two decades of being a loyal customer, it’s disappointing to say that I can’t recommend them at all in their current state. December 9 2025 ✌️

The young bi-racial lady with curly long black hair who made my sandwich was so mean and not friendly as she asked me questions to make my sandwich. I wanted to walk out, but I wanted my Austin Club for dinner. Receipt w63-Thunder-Authorization Code:082035-on March 3, 2025 @4:55 PM. She was not nice at ALL!!!!! I will not be coming back to this location. I refused to leave a tip for mean and nasty service. The restaurant was not clean. Service was horrible!!!! I have a huge problem with the sandwiches being made on the wooden board without laying down the sandwich wrapping paper first to lay the sandwich on. She made me such a messy Austin Club sandwich because she slung the condiments on my sandwich so hard and rough. Why don't the sandwich makers wear hair nets? I felt the terrible customer service at 4:55 PM. Now I understand why there is a "Now Hiring Sign" in the window.
