Now that there's so many seafood boil spots it's hard to find the best one. I've had the majority ones in the Sacramento area and this is my favorite. They have a nice size parking lot and there is also some street parking. There are tables and booths. They also have a separate area for big parties inside. I went in on the weekday and there was a small wait but I've heard about the wait time on the weekends. The server was really nice and attentive. I ordered M2.Shrimp(No Head)(1/2 LB). I added half pound sausage. I got some sides that were extra sauce, fries, and steamed rice. I love that the extra sauce does not come in the bag. They serve it on the side. The rice was yummy especially when adding the sauce. I got the "Hot" and it had a real nice kick to it. My flavor of choice was the captain special that has everything in it. The sausages had a real good smoked taste. The fries were cruntchy as well. Overall all my food was great. The prices are more reasonable than other seafood boil places in Sacramento. I'm already wondering when I'll be back. Oh! Also FYI. They have a killer lunch special too.
Food is good....and prices are comparable to other similar restaurants Servers are nice
I never been to a sea food boil and decided to give Captain Crab a try. We went on a Saturday at 6ish. We were seated immediately. The server was kind and helpful. We got the $35 seafood boil and it was enough to feed two. We also got a side of hush puppies and jalapeño poppers. I will definitely be returning.
This seafood restaurant in Natomas delivered a surprisingly heartfelt experience. The grilled salmon was tender and perfectly seasoned, and the clam chowder felt warm and comforting without being heavy. The staff created a relaxed, caring atmosphere that made the whole dinner feel genuinely personal. A wonderful place when you need good food and a moment of calm.
Everything was perfect, except the "side" room we were seated in (next to the porch where people enter the restaurant) was very plain and didn't have much of a restaurant feel - more like a cafeteria. 2/3-item fried combos were delicious, food quantity was generous, and prices were reasonable for what you get. Service was attentive and friendly.
Food was delicious! The seafood boil is always well seasoned and the fish is fried to perfection. Servers are wonderful and their service is great except when it gets real busy. We went for lunch and ordered an appetizer that never came, we had plenty of food, and it wasn't put on the bill so we didn't worry about it. It took a while to get lemons, my wife won't start eating unless she has her lemons so she sat watching me eat for 5 minutes. At the end of the meal I asked for a refill that never came. We could see the server had a lot going on so we just shrugged it off and left.
This restaurant was honestly so fire the food was seasoned to perfection. The server was quick and attentive. The food came out piping hot. The prices are so reasonable on the menu honestly just a five star experience one of those places where you come in and you just know that you need to come back and order the exact same thing next time
Amazing place. The food is so good. Don't forget to ask for silverware and scissors for you boil. Food is the best I've had. Service is a bit slow. Last time I was there I went in with my two toddlers while my friends were getting their toddler out of the car and was told that 6 of the 7 people in our party need to be inside to be seated even tho there wasn't a wait or another person in the waiting area. The server then seemed annoyed every time we asked for something. The food is worth it though so we will be back. This is our 2nd time and we hope for more
My husband and I have been eyeing Captain Crab for a while and finally decided to dine in — and we’re so glad we did! Marcelino was a great server. We let him know it was our first time, and he kindly went over the pricing and recommended some great options from the menu. We ordered the King’s Boil, which was full of flavor, along with lemon pepper fries that were very filling for two guests. We finished with the key lime pie, which was the perfect ending to our meal. Even though we were the last guests of the night, we never felt rushed. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and we’ll definitely be coming back!
THE BEST CRAB EXPERIENCE IN SACRAMENTO! Our usual go-to spots are The Boiling Crab and Joe’s Crab Shack. We treat it like a special occasion because crab can be pricey at any restaurant, but this place totally changed the game for us! The value for the amount of food you get is insane! I was worried we’d have to compromise on quality since the prices were so good, but this is the cleanest, most flavorful, and best crab we’ve ever had. Joe’s and The Boiling Crab are sometimes too salty and we often had issues with the crab not being cleaned properly. Here at Captain Crab, we got the seafood boil bags with snow crab, shrimp, potatoes, corn, and sausage. We also got drinks. Everything looked and tasted AMAZING! Our total came out to be less than $100 for both of us, and we had leftovers for dinner! The service was incredible, the food was amazing, and the restaurant was clean and smelled great. There was no fishy smell at all. This is our new favorite crab restaurant, and we’ll definitely be back!
Today I decided to try this place for lunch and I was very pleased with the overall experience, the place is super clean the host is very attentive got a table in less than 5 min, as soon as I was seated I was able to order the drink and let me tell you servers are quick and friendly luckily I was there when they had Happy hour on starters I tried the delicious fried pickles 100% recommended all the food was delicious and the service 10 out of 10
Sacramento has many boiling seafood restaurants. Captain Crab Seafood Restaurant is one of the best, in my opinion. Both of their locations in Sacramento/Elk Grove are big and comfortable. Their customer service is also excellent. I loved their Family Special. It has a great selection of seafood that I can choice. The Captain Special Seasoning is also delicious. Captain Crab Seafood Restaurant is one of my favorites in the Arden-Arcade area.
This is my absolute favorite restaurant! The way they season their crabs is incredible—I've tried other Captain Crab locations, but this one is truly special. They seem to add a bit of magic that elevates the flavor. We always order the Cajun style with the second-to-last spiciest option, and it’s the perfect combination. I also highly recommend their fried mushroom appetizers and the fried fish; both are delicious. I find myself coming here 2-3 times a month, and I can't recommend it enough. The staff is fantastic, making each visit even more enjoyable!
Food was amazing! We had a to wait almost 30 minutes to be seated but that wasn’t bad compared to other similar places. We were greeted by a friendly Host who really helped elevate the experience she was friendly and made sure to check with us while we waited, she even came over to check on us and chat a little at our table. It’s hard to come by good customer service these days and she’s a true Gem thanks Aaliyah we hope you do great things!
The staff was friendly and fun. It was my first time visiting so I wasn't sure of the spice level and went with mild. It wasn't hot enough so I asked the waiter for medium and he told me there was a $5 charge for that. I'm a principle person so I told him no thank you. We spent over $100 you'd think they could throw in the next level spice. Anyway the potatoes and corn were cooked very well. The lobster and crab were good but the shrimp was slightly over cooked. I'll give it another try on my next visit to Sacramento
Wanted to try this place for a while and the day had come. We arrived just 5 min or so after it open. It took about 20-25 min to seat and there was not very many people inside but the front person did not say anything and no smile on her face. The food was good. Problem here is the staff! Keep people waiting updating every few minutes, the servers look around maybe someone needs something. I may give another chance next time hopefully is better
The staff were rude. They made it seem like it was an inconvenience that I wanted to order. The steamed oysters were underdone. It would have been nice to throw in a salt and pepper. The crawfish was good one of the best I have tried, however the way I was attended by the staff made me not wanna go back again
Love the food here, always great, but beware of their credit card processes. Went in for dinner on Saturday. They total was 182.67 . which was taken from my account. The total after tip was 212.90 , which was also taken from my account. After dealing with my bank today, I have to file a claim and wait 3-5 additional business days to be refunded. Just beware of using a credit card at this location. If we go back, will have to bring cash.
As a repeat customer, I know how the delicious food is served. While enjoying my birthday lunch I asked the waitress if I could have a combination of seafoods for my lunch. As I remembered, on one of my previous visits, there used to be one on the menu, it was no longer there. I do know I have ordered a combo lunch before and never ran in to the issue of the day. Waitress said, absolutely, choose your selections. I chose shrimp and the 2 offerings of clams. We were a table of four, and when the food came, I noticed my lunch was considerably larger. So, I again asked if this was the lunch order and waitress said yes. When the check came, we were billed for 3 separate lunches. My understanding upon ordering a combo lunch would be that I would get one lunch that was a combination. Not one lunch packed into one bag and charged for 3 seperate unique plates. Had they really wanted to give me 3 lunches. There should have been three lunches with all the food items that comes along with a lunch for each lunch order. That was not the case. I was given one bag of food and charged for 3 separate orders, entrees. I advised the waitress who explained that when combos are ordered, they are ordered by separate lunches. She didn't bother to tell me that when I ordered my one lunch.. and I explained I only wanted one order of combination, not 4 orders of full entrees packed in one bag. My son in law ordered a sandwich. Would they have smashed 3 sandwiches together had he wanted a combo on it...? Maybe they would have at the way this was handled.. I brought the matter up at the counter. I was told that "this wasn't a buffet" along with a very disrespectful response, by the young woman at the register. This was my 66th surprise birthday lunch with my family. I'm not one to sit and argue when customer service is so rude, and belligerent. Basically the check was a wash. This was clearly not a misunderstanding, but a deliberate way to overcharge a lady at lunchtime who might just have not noticed. Asking for lunch that was a combination was certainly not asking for 3 separate lunches. Buyer beware. This last visit definitely had a different vibe from my other visits. i would wish the business train employees to be kind to customers, especially on an event such as a 66th birthday. however, I don't see this business lasting much longer with only a few customers trickling in. This kind of Overcharging unsuspecting honest customers will be reported upward.
I am writing this to express my deep concern regarding the recurring unprofessional behavior at this location, specifically involving a manager named Marissa. During my most recent visit, Marissa informed me my food wasn't ready, even though I had received a notification saying it was complete. This is a pattern; previously, she made me wait 30 minutes for an order that was sitting ready, resulting in cold food. I noticed on Google that I am not alone in this—at least two other customers have recently posted reviews detailing similar negative experiences with this specific manager. I am including a photo from my visit to identify the individual and the situation. It is clear there is a significant management issue here that needs to be addressed by corporate. I expect a higher standard of service and will be looking for a formal resolution.
I had an extremely frustrating experience picking up an online order from this location. I placed an order through DoorDash and arrived to pick it up. As soon as I told the employee at the counter that I was there for an order, I was immediately told they were not taking any orders and were not doing online orders, and that I should come back in 20 minutes. At no point was I asked for the name on the order or given any explanation as to why an order that had already been placed and paid for couldn’t be checked. I came back about 10 minutes later and asked why no one had ever asked for the name on my order in the first place. The employee told me she was instructed by her manager not to do so. At that point, I asked to speak with the manager. The manager, who introduced herself as Marissa, immediately had a sarcastic, defensive, and dismissive tone. When I explained the situation, she said, “Well sir, that is our policy.” I asked her to clarify if their policy was really to turn away customers who had already placed an order without even checking the name. Instead of addressing that, she spoke to me condescendingly and asked whether the order was placed through DoorDash or through their website. After I told her it was a DoorDash order, she walked to the counter and grabbed my food — which had been sitting there the entire time, including when I first walked in. This made it clear that my order was ready all along and that I was unnecessarily turned away simply because no one bothered to ask a basic question. This entire situation could have been resolved in seconds with simple communication and professionalism. Instead, I was misinformed, made to wait, and spoken to disrespectfully by management. Customer service like this, especially from a manager, is unacceptable. Because of this experience, I will not be returning to this location.
Horrible food! It doesn’t taste the same as other location I don’t know if it’s because Asian people own it or not but the point is that it was too salty, not spicy like the traditional captain crab. Even the basic potatoes was better. Also the rice was so hard I almost chocked, it was hard to swallow. The guy forgot my other order so I had to wait extra long while my table eat ahead. And before going in and when I sat down, I asked them if there will there still be the special lunch deal or not and both proceed to acknowledge it and told me yes. But ofc afterward they say since it’s a holiday there is no lunch special. I rather they be honest from the beginning. I will not come here again.
So i went to celebrate a go away for my aunt flying out that night ,we waited 15 min for our 7 guest ,we were seated in the middle section by the host ,after 1 min he asked us to move to another section because that table was reserved for another family that was not there I told him thats rude we are already seated ! So we moved ,when i asked to speak to the manager ,she comes out and she says im Sorry they moved you but its restaurant policies we had to move you for another host to help you ,i said but why ! Host said table was reserved for another family that could of sit were we were too as we got there first ( so i told her i feel discriminated by your host ( she automatically said then leave i refused to give you service (i never raised my voice or said anything disrespectful to her ,other guest watched and laughed at her ( then she said and didn’t obviously know how to conduct her self as a manager, just said for us to leave after being a happy customer for 2 years going every month there ! All table buzzers know me and very nice to me as they know i leave very good tips and always treat everyone employee nice , she comes out with the funniest lie (said i had to leave cus i did not say hi to her when i arrived lol ( which i did said hi because im a very friendly person and asking her or front host if they had a table for 8 ,when my friends already had checked in and waited for all party to show up ,which we know as all restaurants have that policy (i have been a restaurant owner manager too and have 31 yrs of business management experience would never treat a customer the way the untrained manager teated us ( good thing they have cameras ! Especially owners can ask the hispanic employees that pick up the tables how nice i am when i go each time ,(shes lucky i know how to conduct myself and tone of voice (this young untrained manager with attitude,
We’ve been here once before and it was great! Hence why we came back. In this experience, we came last night which was a Saturday night. Since it was 4 of us we got the one that is $119. We requested to substitute the sausage for extra corn. When it arrived it had a lot of sausage, one piece of corn, and one piece of potato. Our server came to take the order and drop off the food but was never seen again until she dropped off the bill. We were there for about an hour. I looked for her to see if my husband could get another beer, I could get a refill, and to ask about the corn but I could never get sight of her. She came to drop off the bill once I finally saw her and made the bill gesture. Bad experience this time. I understand it gets busy but no reason to not see your table and just ask if anything else is needed at least once.
