it’s true - everything about this place is high quality ! still the best donut i’ve ever had & i’ve lived in San Francisco, NYC, Los Angeles & Tokyo. Every time I visit my hometown I make sure to stop by my Sunshine Donut for that simple classic donut in a quaint little plaza in South Salinas. None of that hipster cereal or inventive recipes…. just pure nostalgic flavors. Super lovely owner too. Go & support this place, you’ll see why everyone loves it!

After many attempts to find good donuts and friendly service in Salinas, my bf and I finally found Sunshine's Donuts!!! The gentleman that helped us (maybe the owner?) was very friendly and the donuts were so yummy! He didn't have any custard filled donuts available so he offered to fill the donuts with custard for us on the spot!!! The donuts tasted fresh and the coffee was good too. Plus they have other items on their menu besides donuts. We will definitely be back and we will also refer other people!!!

First time here and fantastic pastries I got a maple bar and cinnamon roll and it was so soft,chewy, thick and the glaze was sweet and soft. Definitely will be back to try the cinnamon twist and mozzarella sticks.

The owner/ employees have the best customer service. They have a broad menu. From donuts to churros.. even lumpia and other savory things. A wide selection of cold/iced coffees and drinks. You can also place in a big order of donuts in advance. Everything is at a great price and everything tastes so good! Highly recommend it here.

Such a sweet couple, great frappes..and any sweettooth will be delighted. They also have a breakfast and lunch menu. The ole timers hangout starting early...like 6 am😎

I want to love Sunshine. While I like the service and people the donuts are a little too dense/cakey for me. Not bad and I'll probably still go back if I'm nearby. Not making a trip just for it though.

Good doughnuts. They're fresh and dense, but for $25 per dozen, a bit on the pricey side.

Went here on my off days some times on. That all came to an end when i spotted a cockroach on a shelf of donuts. I let the older gentlemen, probably the owner, know about it and he insisted i was wrong. It upset me, but not too much as i had seen enough and wasnt going to come back after what i had seen. I wouldnt trust this place.

Terrible. They haven’t changed their menu prices. Everything costs double or more. They will not honor their menu board prices, and just make up new numbers on the fly. This place needs to get their act together.
