So this is just for people looking to try or already love Vietnamese coffee So I’ve been traveling the west/sorth west side for the best. Little did I know That REAL pho was basically in my back yard tucked in near planet fitness (great pre work out drink for those too) So the reason I give this one a 8/10 Made to order- this is important to me just for fresh ness guarantee they use a pretty decent French espresso and standard condensed milk splash of regular milk and ice! (It’s a simple drink but if you love strong coffee drink you have to this, it’s medium sweet with condensed milk but so delicious also little less expensive for 16oz then Starbucks or other at just under $7 for the cup. I haven’t ate there or had anything else but the coffee alone make me want to get a banh mi sandwich The ladies working were friendly and was enjoyable to chat with while they made my drink!
Small pho bowl was fulfilling for a quick lunch break. I got the brisket of course tempura shrimp has a nice crunch to it very good.
My uber driver delivered the wrong order, called real pho and they got me all taken care of. Great photos and great customer service. Would recommend to all.
Our usual Pho restaurant is closed on Wednesdays and my wife really was craving pho so we decided to give this business a try and she loved it! Believed the quality and amount of food was great for the price. We will be returning soon!
We were hesitant with entering the place due to reviews. We decided to rate the place ourselves. Contrary to the reviews, we find this place to be better than other Vietnamese places we had ate at. The place is spacious, clean, restrooms are clean, atmosphere is delightful. The food we ordered, the special appetizer which consist of combination of spring rolls, egg rolls, and shrimp rolls. The portion was good for 2, flavors is great and tasty. The pho and short ribs with rice was good. Flavorful and well seasoned. We were happy that we did not let the reviews stop us from eating there. Due to dietary needs, most restaurants are careful to not put too much salt and spices, the table has condiments that ones' can put on their food. Therefore, the flavor, seasoning, and portion are great.
The food was hot and fresh. The lady was super friendly and quick to take our order. The place was very welcoming with soft calming music playing. The brisket pho was really tasty. The spring rolls were very hot so be careful. The lemongrass chicken was perfect.
Best service and food I’ve had in a long time ! We walked in close to closing time without realizing and we asked if they wanted us to take it to go so we weren’t an inconvenience and they were so so nice and reassured us we could take our time ! BEST PHO IVE EVER HAD 10/10 definitely will be back!
Portions as big as the flavor! Had the House special vermicelli bowl, it was truly amazing. Highly recommend it. Hubby had the round steak, brisket, meatball combo pho. The meat was very tender and delicious as well. Friendly atmosphere from the start, wishing this place many fruitful years of business
Guys, this place has been delicious every time I'm here! Great customer service, flavor, price, and portions. FRESH INGREDIENTS ☺️ Their Vietnamese tea and coffee are very flavorful. I do recommend the pho, I have had the seafood, chicken, vegetables/tofu and the eye round steak and brisket as well as seafood fried rice. Today, I I got the Korean beef BBQ w rice. As I said. Great overall, Sometimes, I also get a portion of veggies on the side. Always very well steamed and good flavor. 👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽 Great new management! I am obsessed.🥰🥰
This is the place to go for some delicious authentic Vietnamese food! I came here for the Pho and was definitely not disappointed. They have a variety of other items on the menu. Tried the wontons for an appetizer and they were made perfect with a crunchy outside and cheesy inside. The staff are very friendly and the new chef knows what he is doing in the kitchen. If you are looking for great atmosphere, and delicious food I suggest you give this place a try.
First time here was not bad. Waiter attended to us immediately and was very helpful with the menu. I ordered the Vietnamese Eggroll to start off then ordered the Eye Round Steak and Brisket Pho. The eggroll was very tasty and the pho was even more of a well waited treat. My first experience here was overall good. The place can use some more ethnic decor and music to give it the overall Vietnamese experience which I can only imagine is awesome! Will definitely come here again and good luck finding nearby parking.
Most of the dishes are fantastic, but not all. The Korean beef with rice was tough, and had a ton of fat and bones, but very little meat. The seafood salad, however, was exquisite, probably the best one in San Antonio. The tempura shrimp and calamari was also excellent. Overall, a great value. *Note: The appetizers and Korean beef were carryout, while the seafood salad was dine-in.
The fried appetizers did not taste fresh(freezer burned). The actual dinner items were tasty but the servings were smaller than how they appeared in the pictures on the menu. Service was very nice. The floor under the table where we sat was sticky, and had what looked like lettuce or a leafy vegetable stuck to it.
I went here just trying to find something that may be a little different from the norm. The presentation was great. The pho was ok.. I don't remember the name but my fiancée had the one with chicken broth base and it was pretty good. I am not saying the food was but bad it was just not too much different from you your standard pho restaurant. I will go back and try something different so I can compare my experience and let's see if I feel different the second time around..
As a Vietnamese, I had expected more from a place named "Real" Pho, but was really disappointed. I had the combination vermicelli, it was decent: the grilled pork was tasty, the shrimp was battered and fried instead of grilled like other places, the one egg roll was tasty, the nuoc mam sauce was plain, with no chillies, garlic, carrots, or lime juice - I had to add Sriracha to give it some color. My husband had the Veggie pho with veggie broth: it was boiled veggies in water, no flavor at all, no pho spices or flavor, not even salt. We also ordered the meatball banh mi and a Cha Lua banh mi, which were the worst I've had in San Antonio: The bread was a regular bready hoagie although it was slightly toasted, it was still white and not a real french loaf that's fluffy on the inside and flaky crispy on the outside. There is no pate, no soy sauce, no pickled carrots and radish, there might have been a hint of mayo, and the cucumber slices were miniscule. The meatballs were bland, breaking apart, and had no tomato sauce (yes, Vietnamese meatball sandwiches also have a tomato sauce, but it's not like the American tomato sauce). The Cha Lua banh mi had 2 oblong chunks of dry Cha Lua (supposed to be soft and moist) instead of cut in thin deli style slices. It had whole peppercorns in there, which I did not like, although some might enjoy that kind of Cha Lua. The prices were also quite high for such foods, there are other higher quality Vietnamese restaurants having lower prices. The ambiance of the area was a bit hodgepodge, like it was renovated in small chunks, by different people with different design ideas (the floor tiles). The menus had the prices scribbled out, but no new prices were added, so you don't know how much anything costs. They also have handwritten phone numbers on them. It's all very unprofessional looking.
First this wasn't a 36 dollar meal. Combination fried rice was very sticky and had a butter & garlic taste to it. We both ordered the grilled Pork Pho. Pork was really good. The Pho was very bland tasting. And we love 🍜!! Sad to say we won't go back. Service was good and they were very nice.
It was pretty disgusting, my meat had a green tint to it, the summer rolls had this weird beef jerky meat in it. The server gave us menus and utensils and our food that was it. There are no drinks except tap water and smoothies. The food inspection rating was nowhere to be found either. My boyfriend felt nauseous after the steak and brisket pho. I got the combination pho. In the pictures below there is a mystery ingredient(the tentacle thing) I asked the server what it was and he didnt know and didnt ask the cook either. Overall a pretty terrible place to go at potranco. We spent $31 for all of this
This being a pho restaurant, their specialty is supposed to be pho ~ I mean their name is “Real Pho.” So damn everything else - the pho broth should be the star but it was horribly bland. No depth or flavor. I had to add so much extra sauces to help it and It got worse as the noodles were overcooked and mushy. It was inedible. As for the rest of our order: pork bánh mì and pork rice plate - were better tasting and better prepared. Turned out to be the most decent in our order. Fried rice was decent flavor but rice was mushy, as if made with too much water. It also did not taste like jasmine or any Asian long grain. Our Vietnamese egg roll appetizer came out at the end of our meal because the waitress “forgot about it”. When they finally appeared, we couldn’t eat them because they were charred and tasted like charcoal. The cook came out to tell the waitress something and she was not Vietnamese much less Asian. The service was polite if forgetful. Would have been nice to have been checked on for drink refills/ needs. We were 1 of 3 tables in the whole place…
