“Absolutely loved this spot! The Indian food was delicious and full of flavor, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the owner was incredibly kind and welcoming. Everything felt fresh, authentic, and truly worth it. A 10/10 experience—I’ll definitely be coming back and highly recommend!”
This little gem was so worth the stop! We arrived a bit early and they were very friendly to let us know they would be opening later today. (Not sure why) Good was AMAZING! Great selection and taste. They had such a nice variety of food options. Of course I tried every one of them! Taste is very flavorful, of course portions were large cause were in Texas!! (And cause I loaded my plate!) Drinks were in a can, but stand was gracious to give us iced glasses. Complimentary waters for the table. Prices were great, place grew packed as we ate. Not many dessert selections but still appreciative they had a dish. Garlic Naan was excellent! Spice level was assorted. There were dishes that were mild to none and others that took the spice kick! Overall experience was Amazing and we will most certainly visit again. Parking right in front no problem.
Very good food. Great atmosphere. Friendly staff. Loved the chicken options on the buffet. Fresh naan comes with it. I’ll be back. It’s even open until 2 am. My favorite Indian dish is the paneer. Owner was very friendly and welcoming. I can tell he takes pride in his restaurant. Love that he makes sure everything is good. I’ll definitely be back.
We were traveling to San Antonio and looking for the best Indian restaurants when we came across a place with good reviews. To our surprise, they were offering a buffet at 4:30 PM. The food was fresh and delicious, with over 25 items to choose from, including both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. The dosas and chutneys were particularly enjoyable. Overall, we had a great time and loved the food. We didn't take pictures of what we ate as we were starving by that time.
I saw a one star review and was concerned. But the food was excellent. We asked for medium spicy and it was just right for us. The comment about everything being sweet was completely unfounded. The naan was soft and crispy, absolutely delicious. We ordered extra to take home.
Came all the way from west Texas to try this place on a recommendation. Let me just say the food was amazing and the service was superb. The owner was so helpful in recommendations and very attentive. The goat sukka was absolutely amazing!! The chicken biryani was the best I have ever had! This place was so worth the 5 hour drive! Will definitely be coming back!
I'm a first time customer and my experience was top tier. The chicken tikki masala is more tomato forward than I'm used to, but I prefer this flavor to the ones I've had. The veg samosa were soooo delicious my mouth is watering just from the memory of them and I ate the last bite 5 minutes ago. They're also open until 2am! Incredible! I'll be back.
I have traveled around the world and I am picky about the Indian places. I prefer. This place ranks as tied for my top two. The portion sizes are decent, but the flavor is amazing. The chicken is surprisingly tender. And the service is excellent. I'm not sure I even want to try another Indian restaurant in the San Antonio area. I really appreciate that they're spicy is extremely spicy. I chose the spicy level number four and it was pushing my limits. 😂 The only thing that could have made this better was if I brought friends along to share the food and if they played either some Bollywood films or had music playing. If you find a better restaurant in the San Antonio area, do let me know.
Spicy – Authentic Indian Cuisine That Lives Up to Its Name We recently tried Spicy and it was absolutely delicious! The flavors were rich, authentic, and made fresh to order based on your preferred heat level (from 1 to 5). I ordered the chicken curry at a level 3, and my boyfriend had the goat saag at a level 2. Even though his was a “milder” option, it still packed quite a punch for him! I managed to finish mine, but in hindsight, a level 2 might have been perfect for me too. The service was just as impressive as the food. Our server was incredibly sweet, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. I also love that they offer a lunch buffet (though it was closed by the time we arrived), which we’ll definitely have to come back and try. Overall, Spicy is a gem for anyone craving authentic Indian food with customizable heat levels. We will definitely be returning!
We had Uthappam, roti with a kadai paneer and vegetable fried rice. All 3 items are very nice and spicy. The taste is very authentic to the original recipe in the south side of India. The portions seemed quite a bit less when compared to the other Indian restaurants. The service is very good. We were taken care of by the front desker Sai, he had come to the table every time the food came to check with us the taste and our requirements. Good to have such a kind of interaction so that we had the food in our tastes. Will definitely visit again when we come to San Antonio. We almost eat everything before taking the pictures😀
EXCELLENT QUALITY AUTHENTIC INDIAN FOOD. Me and my Husband meet in San Antonio once in awhile. This will be our new monthly spot! It is absolutely the best Indian food we have ever had. And we like to try new Indian food restaurants a lot. We tried their aloo gobi, butter chicken, chicken vindaloo, chicken Hyderabadi biryani, chicken samosas. Absolutely 10/10! If I could give it a higher rating, I would! I can’t wait to try more of my favorite Indian dishes here the next time I come!
Food was amazing! The service was just as amazing. They’re very kind and always checking on you. Super clean and amazing decor. MUST TRY THE BUFFET was worth the price! 04/13/24 Came twice this week and all 3 experiences were just as amazing! Food just gets better and better. You cannot beat the price. Great customer service and amazing food! Owner gave us goodies to try too! Coconut chutney was my favorite! the white one is peanut chutney!
A good little variety of foods to try on their buffet. I like being able to try the different entrees. Fresh dosa and naan made to order (regular, garlic, spicy, or butter). Most of it has a pretty good spice level, and there's good rice pudding to cool you down. Nice hot milk tea to drink, too. Overall, pretty good.
Buffet has many varieties. Taste was good. Shrimp was my favourite. Gajar ka halwa was too good super. I loved it. Food was overall good. Yeah plates and bowls were running low. Water was served as soon as we entered and a person received us and shared us the available options to order. Should improve reception and maintenance. After a month again we visited for dinner. But we didn’t know that buffet is only for lunch. So we ordered ala a carte. Chole bature, Shrimp fried rice, Goat Sheek Kabab. Spice eaters should order spicy level 4 or 5. Level 3 is not preferred. Apollo fish was not as I expected but tasty was good. Mango lassi was also good but bit pricy that other restaurants.
Life is precious, and I like collecting new experiences. But today, I had one of the most unforgettable experiences of my life. I went to Spice Fine Indian Cuisine for their buffet. The food looked good from the outside — nice colors and nice presentation. I started with the chicken mushroom fry. When I took my first bite, I could taste raw chicken, like it was not fully cooked. It felt like I was eating some fancy French dish by mistake, maybe they should rename it Chicken Fricassée instead of chicken mushroom fry. The potatoes were just boiled - no masala, no flavor, just pure potato vibes. The sambar looked like rasam, and the dal looked like sambar. I think even the dishes were confused about who they really are. Then I went to the pani puri stall. The pani tasted like tamarind water with extra foam on top. After eating it, I felt like sitting quietly and thinking about my life. My friend had payasam, and after trying it, he got neersam. But the best part of the whole experience was the washroom. There was a giant stool kept right in front of the commode. After eating the buffet, it felt like the perfect place to dive into the commode and enjoy a full swimming experience with the food memories. Maybe the names of the dishes should be shuffled, because I was totally confused by everything. I wanted to give a 1-star rating….....but because of the amazing stool in front of the commode, I am giving 3 stars. It was really nice to dive in the commode after having food in this restaurant. Please go and experience this amazing world-mix cuisine. Today, I had a wonderful experience in my life. I feel like I completed one of the toughest phases of my journey. Please do visit the restaurant.
Quantity wise it’s huge and you can choose spice level which is good. We order Apollo Fish , Gopi manchurian which i felt they used the same sauce didn’t felt any taste difference. Quantity is also big as the price (12-14$ each). We also ordered a Chicken fried rice and a egg Briyani for 2ppl. When we saw the fried rice it was too much a person and ended up sharing because of the big size appetisers, took the egg briyani as to go. Pricey place. Lot of food will go waste or you need to pack them to go. So plan before you order.
After eating here, I’m shocked this place has such a high rating. I’ve heard people recommend this place for years and finally tried it to my great disappointment. Pricing is expensive for meager portion sizes. The small container of rice for the tikka masala wasn’t anywhere near full for $18. You get 2 normal size samosas for over $8. On top of that flavor was not to my liking. Unfortunately this place doesn’t live up to the hype others gave it. It only gets two stars instead of one because it was edible. I won’t be going here again, as there are plenty of other Indian restaurants around with a lot better food and pricing.
I rarely leave negative reviews, but I felt compelled to share my experience. I’ve enjoyed Indian food across many places but this was by far the worst I’ve ever had. The food was extremely salty, had a strange, off-putting smell, and clearly wasn’t fresh and wash room, ambiance also dirty. I genuinely wish I could get my money back because it felt like a total waste. I won’t be coming back definitely and can’t recommend this place to anyone who actually enjoy, at least moderate taste of , Indian cuisine.
A couple days ago I checked out this restaurant because of all the good reviews. The tikka masala was straight-up awful. Place was nasty—saw flies everywhere and even a couple cockroaches running around. How the health department even lets this spot stay open is beyond me. Also had this one bald guy who was clearly drunk come up to me and keep bugging me while I was trying to eat. Wouldn’t leave me alone, kept pushing me to write a review right then and there. Super annoying. Pretty sure that’s why they’ve got so many reviews in the first place. There are tons of legit restaurants out there killing it with good food and actual good service. Support those places, not sketchy ones like this.
This place used to be my go to but you can tell that they have really gone down hill. Mushroom manchurian not even battered and fried yet some how managed like two inches of oil in container. Pekora was felt slimy yet wasn't breaded properly so was burnt on the inside? I don't even understand how you achieve both at the same time, but they did. So now we have $15 + of food that we cant eat.
While I rarely give a restaurant one star but the Order from this place was so bad that I had to give it one star. While I wanted to eat spicy thus selected 4 on spice level out of 5 however the dishes only had red chilli. Plz note - I did call the restaurant and they were supposed to call me but I still haven’t heard back from them. I hope it was one off for them but my experience was really bad. Total waste
By a taxi driver information I went to this restaurant, I asked if they serve HALAL, they said yes all HALAL, I I order goat karahi which they asked me how strong spices I like 1 to 5, so I said 2, but when it arrives, look like is above 5, so much spice, they asked me to leave them review on Google, which I said will do. But I want to try one more time so I can have fair comments. Next evening I went and asked for Saag Channa vegetable dish as I saw on the menu, We serve in Lunch Buffet HALAL MEAT, that mean previous night the meat I have was not Halal, which makes me feel upset so I just asked for veg and spices I reduced to 1 out of 1 to 5, which should be almost spiceless, but it was even spicy then previous night. Serving guy is nice and polite, but I don't feel the food specily curry are overspice and look like precooked food, just make hot and serve. Location, setting and staff manners good. About Saag Channa when I received, I swim a lot to find Channa but that is only in photos in menu but in physical, only Saag. Very disappointed to see, that halal is serve only in lunch buffet but staff who was polite, lie to me that all meat halal. Photos attached. Plus I found first night, I was charged btit high, so next day I order Saag Chana with a plain nan(butter less) which is is menu 2 dollar but I was charged 3, it is small amount but look bad when does not match your menu.
had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. The service was extremely poor — staff seemed disinterested and inattentive. The place was not clean at all, with dirty tables and an overall unhygienic environment. To make matters worse, the food did not meet basic hygiene standards. It lacked freshness, and I was genuinely concerned about its safety. Cleanliness and customer care should be top priorities for any food establishment, and unfortunately, this restaurant failed on both counts. I would not recommend it and won’t be returning.
I have never thought that I would give 1 star rating for 4.5 star Restaurant. Completely upset for the food and atmosphere. I have visited San Antonio with the family and looking at the reviews I found this restaurant for 4.5 star rating with more 5750+ reviews, I thought it is very good and visited it. I have ordered Naan, Roti, Bullet, Paneer Butter Masala and Malai Kofta. I would give 0 star if I had a chance. Naan’s are little hard and I never thought that they would serve Naan as Roti. Please never to look for the reviews and visit here. I’m extremely upset with the Food and Atmosphere. Restaurant is also not super clean. Please never more water here. Please order water bottle.
Food buffet, food was cold. I pointed this out to the staff member who said oh it will warm up. I was one of two customers in the entire restaurant at noon today. Floors were dirty. One man came in after me filled up his plate took one bite, turn around and walked out. There’s a dirty mop and associated trash near the buffet. You had to ask for silverware. You had a wait a long time to get a glass of water and ask twice. Silverware arrived, which is a spoon and a fork no knife to cut the chicken with. No tamarind sauce unless you ask. Then they bring it in a small container, very watery. Plates were dirty. I pointed this out. She took away three of them brought back in a few more and all of them had soap and water on them. Two more customers came in and when they went to get the plates, they also commented that the food was cold, and the plates were not clean. By my watch they had to wait 10 minutes to get silverware after they’ve already sat down with their full plate plates. I watched them go through several plates before selecting one that they thought was clean. A man with a baseball cap went and spoke with the lady at the cashier‘s place and told her he was going to put a thermometer in each containers on the buffet. He did that, but how sanitary is that? Health department?
