UPDATE still has soft puffy powdery tortillas! Service was great. Timing was quick from the kitchen and always delicious. Do you like "brown gravy" carne guisada? This is your place. Always judging on tortillas and these make the grade.

First time coming here and they did not disappoint! The carne guisada is the best I've had in a long time. The tortillas are fantastic and fluffy. Bean and cheese with bacon was delicious, potato and egg with cheese were on point. Definitely recommend this place. The waitress was sweet and helpful. Love the artwork up around the place.

Good food. Seated right away. Service was quick. Drink order taken right away. everything was correct. Chips and salsa complementary. Order was take shortly after. I was impressed by promptness of service. Great job. Clean. Good crowd. Friendly atmosphere. Affordable prices and quality food. Definitely going back again.

Fast and friendly service, clean restaurant. I would have given 5 stars but my tacos were cold. Sent them back to be warmed up. Not a big deal, still very enjoyable

Tommy’s always has the best barbacoa and overall great quality Mexican food. Their potatoes are always a bit under seasoned but cooked to perfection otherwise. There isn’t a barbacoa plate on the menu but ask for it as it is worth it!!! The only thing they need is a bigger dining room! And a waitlist on yelp or their website.

1st visit to this location, Unfortunately it was not as good as the other two I've visited. The flour tortilla was tough around the edges, there wasn't a lot of cheese, and the carne guisada was kinda dry when you bit into the chunks. My wife loved her chilaquiles and beans, but the potatoes, which looked great, were leathery and dry inside. She did say her corn tortillas were homemade and delicious! All in all, it was a mixed bag. Our server was friendly and somewhat attentive after disappearing for a bit. I'll be back to another Tommy's, just not this one. 🤷‍♂️

Visit the Medical District monthly so I decided to stop for breakfast. Got the Migas and asked for it to be prepared à la mexicana with cheese. Ordered a barbacoa taco on the side. Plate came with fried potatoes and refried beans. The barbacoa didn’t come with cilantro or onions so I had to ask for some. The “à la mexicana” was $1.59, the cheese was an extra $2.29 and the little cup of cilantro and onion was $.79. I couldn’t believe how much of an up charge for the extras. Cheese I understand but $2.29 for maybe less than 1/4 cup of shredded cheese? $1.59 for diced onion tomato and jalapeno? The cilantro was maybe a teaspoon worth. The onion not much more. Pretty disappointed to say the least. The whole meal with coffee was $20.93. Won’t be returning.

Usually i dont have issues, but they took 40mins to make a flauta plate(it wasnt busy). Then we ordeted a chalupa and the tostada was soggy, you couldn't even lift it to eat. Such a shame it really is a shame I ordered a nacho fajita plate. What they brought was taco shells snapped in half beans fajitas cheese and that was it. They have chips. Why couldn’t they do traditional nachos they might as well. Just call these TostNachos. It’s sad that they call them nachos and they really are not. That is just basically half of a tostada past office a nacho.

Nobody in charge to keep things in order. Waited around trying to figure out whether to seat myself, nobody greeted me, so I took the intuitive to find an empty table and was asked if I had signed in. Of course not, the sign at the register that nobody was working said to seat myself. Walked back and asked to sign in, said yes, and they continued to not sign me in, lol. Wth! Forget this place. I'll spend my money elsewhere.

Staff was flirting with a group of cps workers instead of helping customers up front I waited 10 minutes till someone finally approached me and a few other customers then to tell me I have to wait even longer for my order you should be greeting your customers right away not after 10 minutes No even drive through was answering after I got off They only took care of Uber Eats and door dash customers. I hope a manager sees this because this is poor customer service. This place has gone down hill. I will not be coming back. Also I left after 20 minutes of waiting.
