I’m absolutely in love with this place! Hands down the best shabu shabu I’ve had all year. The quality, the flavor everything is spot on. Highly recommend! The sukiyaki set is chef’s kiss. Big Thank you to Lia and Tiff for all your assistance and kindness.
Went for AYCE lunch at 30 pp. The quality of the meat was very good and fresh. Assortment at the bar for vegetables, mushrooms, etc was very good. Everything looked and tasted fresh. Quality of meat and ingredients are good. 4 Broths to choose from for Shabu shabu. Staffs were attentive and super efficient. After we stuffed our faces, we got some ice cream too! Overall a good experience and we will be back.
Mo-Mo Paradise, a renowned international franchise famous for its sukiyaki hotpot, has its only San Diego location here, and it doesn't disappoint. With a more upscale and modern decor than their LA County locations, it's a perfect spot for hotpot enthusiasts, especially if you're a fan of Sukiyaki and Shabu-shabu. Weekday lunch specials are more affordable than weekend, holiday, or evening prices, though they lack options like pork belly and chicken thighs. Be sure to arrive before 2 pm for lunch, as that’s the last seating time. We visited on a busy Sunday night, and despite the crowd, the experience was well worth it. Before starting the hotpot, I highly recommend the beef curry with rice and the AYCE beverages. You can even DIY your own milk tea, choosing from Matcha or Jasmine tea with toppings like crystal boba, coffee jelly, and red bean—a fun and customizable way to start your meal. You can choose one or two soup bases from Shabu-shabu, Tomato, Tonkotsu, or Sukiyaki—with Sukiyaki being my personal favorite for its rich, sweet flavor. At the Farmer's Market section, you can grab as many vegetables, tofu, noodles, and salad as you want. For the AYCE proteins, they offer beef chuck eye, beef short plate, beef eye of round, pork shoulder, pork belly, and chicken thigh. I particularly enjoyed the beef eye of round and pork shoulder—both leaner cuts that pair perfectly with the dipping egg mixture. The staff is friendly, though a bit overwhelmed due to the crowd, so we had to call them multiple times to order more protein. As a sweet finish, they offer ice cream, and the Rocky Road scoop, with its blend of chocolate and mochi, was a standout dessert. While the price is slightly higher, the quality of food, variety of options, and overall dining experience make it worth it for a great AYCE hotpot experience.
We loved it!! The food is simply delicious!! We highly recommend making reservations, and going during lunch time because is less busy. Josh our server was very attentive and helpful. It was our first time going, and his recommendation worked out great. For the amount of food we ate the price was reasonable. The place has a lot of parking. Looking forward to go back again. :)
I love a good all you can eat experience for hot pot! The curry taste amazing and reminded me of a cute little buffet in Osaka. All of the meats were a very high quality and service was wonderful. Manager Dan popped by to make sure that we were having a great time! If you like hot pot or buffets or both… You have got to come by. All you can drink crystal boba and jelly milk tea as well! I appreciated that the business automatically adds in 18% service charge to take care of their staff. I’m a huge fan of paying fair wages to service employees instead of hoping some kind customers would add a few additional dollars of tip out of the generosity of their heart. My rule of thumb for tipping is usually 20% or more at a restaurant anyway, so the 18% is definitely reasonable. Update: they’re in OpenTable! Love earning my points!
Can I give this place 10 times 5 stars?! I am a thousand percent satisfied with the experience here. My husband was not really happy with the waiting time at the beginning, because we had a reservation, but still got to wait about 20 minutes for the table. I’m fine with that, since I understand that right now every restaurant needs more people to work. But I have to say, my husband is sooooooo happy about the food and agree to give a full 5 star after we finish dinner. I tried Sukiyaki in Asia - Tokyo and Shanghai before. I will say MOMO PARADISE is as good as my previous experiences in Asia. I highly recommend Sukiyaki with raw egg, that’s how we eat it, and if you would like to try the authentic experience, you should do that. About the meat, my fav is the beef short plate, which is very marble and fatty meats, so yummmm. My husband fav is the pork shoulder. I mean it’s really depends how you like the meats. They all very good. And my husband is happy with the drinks too, their liquor price is really amazing. Also I’m happy with the cocktails as well. Oh, in the end, don’t forget the super delicious ice creams.
Based upon a recent visit, Mo Mo paradise has my heart again! I visited here a couple of months ago and had a not so great experience but since then I returned and had a complete 180 visit! Staff was attentive and helpful and the food was excellent as usual. I hope they continue to keep up the changes for all guests with children.
I'm glad this place opened up while we were in town. Always a fan of a great shabu shabu and this place did not disappoint! The staff were incredibly nice and accommodating for us. Initially we were sat outside, but my friend was not used to the cold weather and we were able to move inside when a table was available. The broth we chose were the sukiyaki and tonkatsu ones. I liked that we could also dip the meat in a raw egg (whisked properly). The meat was of good quality and the veggies were fresh. The Dassai 45 was our sake of choice. Everything was just great and my friends enjoyed it. We will definitely come here again next time we are in town.
I recently visited Momo Paradise with my friends in Mira Mesa and had an outstanding experience. The food was absolutely delicious, with a wide variety of mouthwatering options to choose from. The service was impeccable, with attentive staff who went above and beyond to ensure a delightful dining experience. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, adding to the overall enjoyment of the meal. I particularly loved the Wednesday special – a fantastic 50% off on beer mugs. It's a great deal that enhances the overall value of the dining experience. Whether you're a fan of hot pots, fresh vegetables, or simply want to unwind with a cold beer, Momo Paradise in Mira Mesa is the perfect spot. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking to savor delectable food, receive top-notch service, and enjoy a fantastic atmosphere. Don’t forget to ask for the hot drops to fulfill your spicy needs!! If you want to enjoy soup with large parties and a wonderful experience, this is the spot to be at. Can't wait for my next visit!
Made a reservation for 7:30, arrived early and were seated right away. First time trying this style of dining; it was delicious and a fun way to dine out as a family. So. Good.
I like that this place is all you can eat, but keep in mind that there is a limit of 90 minutes. We were seated inside and decided to try half the shabu-shabu and half sukiyaki broth. For meats, we started with all of them- beef chuck eye, beef short plate, kurobuta pork shoulder, pork meatballs, and fish meatballs. We also ordered all the veggies, ramen, udon, and condiments as well. There were a few appetizers offered, but we skipped those. Everything we ordered was nicely presented, but in such small amounts, that we had to keep asking for more LOL. Our favorites were the sliced meats, so we just kept reordering those. Don't forget to save room for ice cream because this is also all you can eat!
I have dined in, and had takeouts from this restaurant. The food is consistently good, and there’s nothing that beats the fun experience of cooking it yourself. Between the different types of meats and vegetables, the sources, the noodles and condiments, the variety of food is huge.

Our favorite hot pot!! Excellent quality and so flavorful! Many vegetables, meats and sides to choose from. The a.c is nice and strong, so we can eat hot pot even on a hot summer day! Staff is always friendly and helpful. Highly recommend!
One of my favorite shabu-shabu/hotpot style restaurants in town! The service is great, restaurant is clean, and the ingredients always seem fresh. Don’t miss out on the rice and curry! Highly recommend!

Finally got to try this AYCE hotpot spot that everyone talks about. First all, this place is so much better than Shabumi on balboa ave. This place definitely much cleaner with better quality of food. We made a reservation and was seated on time. We got some fresh veggies and fishballs then off we start. Sukiyaki and tonkatsu broths were tasty. Sukiyaki broth is quite sweet so if you like sweet broth. You can't go wrong on tonkatsu broth. Meats were fresh, great selections of veggies, and delicious teas to choose from. Jasmine milk tea is my favorite. Service was good but quite slow. You should place your next meat order as you're cooking the last round of meat. Same suggestion applies to ordering ice cream after you finish your meal. Place your order early to prevent delay... We also got kicked out of the restaurant right when they closed at 10pm. So if you don't want the manager to come yelling at you, leave a little earlier than 10pm. There's a 18% service charge on your bill regardless of how big your party is. So don't bother to tip extra unless your server delivers exceptional service. For me, my server was ok... Definitely a little pricier than I expected for the experience I had.
It's a bit expensive here but the kimchi and sukiyaki broth are good. The cuts of the meat are high quality and the available vegetables are also good. I wish there was more options for the sauce like chopped garlic. The beef curry and rice are good.
We love Mo-Mo. We always have excellent service, fresh and delicious food, and enjoy the ice-cream at the end. The Mo-mo sodas are the only soda I really like. The peach is my fav. We come very often. Sometimes date nights, sometimes with our whole family of seven. We recommend it to everyone. Sadly, they’ve removed the “hot drops” and ability to make it spicy. That was a huge part of why I loved it so much. I can’t see us coming back often unless there’s a way to make it spicy again. I hope this review makes it to corporate. Really disappointed today & hope they find a solution.

We didn’t get military discount as a family. It’s the first time ever I’ve heard a restaurant require to see family ID to give everyone discount. So eventually only one person on the table get the discount. It’s not written on their website that everyone needs to bring their id. It’s a policy TRAP.

We came for lunch one year ago and this time came for dinner. Both instances, we made reservations on Open Table. It gets crowded. Lunch is $25.95 and dinner is $34.95. You have access to all 6 meats for dinner and only 4 during lunch. You have access to the sauce and vegetable. For the unlimited non-craft soda and milk tea, it’s an extra $2.55. Beer mugs are 50% off on Wednesday. You’re only allowed two soup selection out of the 4. We got the two most popular, shabu-shabu and tonkotsu. Honestly, I think their broth was so bland and no flavor. I had to make a good sauce concoction to dip my meats. There are 3 beef flavors, 2 pork and 1 chicken. For the first round, we got one of each. Then for the rest, we only stuck to beef. The beef short plate is really fatty. I have to say, their meat selection is limited. But the quality is there. I’m just not impressed with their soup. There’s also rice with beef shabu curry. The curry was extremely bland. Needed your own spice but it smelled so good! I would have to say dessert was the best part. Nothing special, just ice cream. We had a scoop of vanilla, strawberry cheesecake, and caramel pralines.

Update 1/14/22 to 1 star So they have a promotion that was not clearly written so we asked the host who confirmed we would qualify, but when our bill came, the waitress claimed we didn't qualify and the manager made a big deal of how he was doing us a favor by honoring what his host said. If you can't trust a restaurant to keep their word and train their staff properly, then can you trust them to do the rest of their job properly? The food overall isn't bad and for the most part the service is attentive. They do bring the meat out pretty quickly, but there are only four types. They don't really have to do much since a lot of it is self service including vegetables, drinks, and sauces. That said, a lot of stuff isn't available such as udon, and the ramen kept running out. It also took a while to get the broth refilled. Most of the broth flavors are also pretty bland except for the sukiyaki Getting seated was also a bit of a mess. They definitely need to work out their staffing and roles.
Unhappy with the price, food and service. I mean $34 for soup?? On top of it they automatically add 18% service charge and an option to add more tip. Service charge when you're doing half the work. You have to get up and get the other ingredients. And no one checked on us if we needed more drinks. Our little bowls were still full when the waiter offered to bring our check 65 minutes after we sat at the table. I thought it was 90 minutes, why were we bring rushed? Also the amounts of the optional tip on the check changes after the handed me the receipt (see photo). You need to check the calculation on the first one. Anyway, I'm not going back.
