Excellent pizza! The crust is thin but holds up when you grab a slice (perfect for not needing a knife and fork!). The toppings are great, too. They come up with new combinations of toppings frequently, and the best ones go on the menu permanently. We ended up getting the wrong pizza but that was resolved swiftly and with great service. Super friendly and good staff!
First time there so I won’t dare to judge them till I visit them enough times to give them a fair review but so far I was pleased with their pizza their version of the typical pepperoni pie and I even liked the Shroom one as well. The good news is that they impressed me enough to return and try their other options. As far as service and atmosphere they’re set up to be very family friendly so if you’re looking for a fine dining experience you’re not getting it here. Service is simple and straightforward. They keep their menu pretty simple as well which I like.
Suuuuper cool pizza restaurant with very basic inventory and lots of families with children. Definitely not a quiet place, but oh so good! Will come back for sure! - update 12/22: they updated their furniture, so cool and fancy! maybe was a bit cold in there imo. otherwise: good as always!
Top 3 pizza I have ever had. A bit far from downtown SF, but worth! Think we had 8-12 different pizzas, all amazing. Great bread, and very friendly and knowing personal. Secret karaoke-room is always a big pro.
ATTN: FINAL BOSS PIZZA After trying 85 San Francisco Pizza Establishments since May 2022, this Pizza Reviewer deems PizzaHacker/Bagel Macher SF as one of the G.O.A.T.S., Standard Bearers and God's of San Francisco Pizza. One could safely win an argument that this is actually possibly the Best Neapolitan and Best Square/ Detroit Style in all of San Francisco due to the how high quality they are but also because they use San Francisco Sourdough in everything. That is why you can safely argue this is actually the Best San Francisco Pizza period. Jeff Krupman, I assume is the author of this Pizza and by following PizzaHacker/BagelMacher SF on Instagram, it is clear that he is a Devotee of Pizza. By the way, the Intermezzo Salad is also excellent. A nice variety of fresh vegetables and a nice Poppy Seed dressing. Back to the Pizza, the sauce is out of control good here. It is insanely good and it is bright blood red to boot! The whole quality of this Pizza... you need to make trying this place Top Priority if you actually love Pizza and/ or Sourdough and/or San Francisco. I am a Native of San Francisco, not from somewhere else and i say this. I am a Top 10% Pizza Reviewer on Google and I say this. I am a Pizza Elitist. A Man of Pizza. A Devotee of Pizza. A Self Diagnosed Pizza Expert. Offered to be a Pizza Officer via Yelp (for Hawaii though). I have been to New York. And Italy. And Chicago for that matter. Okay? So do yourself a favor and either go to PizzaHacker/Bagel Macher for Both Styles of Pizza wether it is Neapolitan San Francisco Sourdough Pizza or Square/ Detroit Style San Francisco Sourdough Pizza or get it delivered. Those are your only options. Until then, do not chime in with your opinions about Pizza. As if you know anything. You don't know what you're talking about until you go here. These are facts. And by the way, they have been doing the Square/ Detroit Style since 2009. Okay, Jack? So this isn't their first rodeo. Their Square has been around for over a decade. So they didn't do it to cash in on a trend like a lot of the newly opened ones regardless of it they are good or not. I have tried every single Detroit Style Pizza in San Francisco and only one other place uses Sourdough - Sunset Squares. I would say the Square here stacks up well with the following: Capo's, Cellarmaker House of Pizza, Long Bridge Pizza Co., and Tony's Napelatana. That's the area of the truly good Detroit and honestly... PizzaHacker is probably the best of them all. So stop reading this. Create a plan to try this. Now. ATTN: PizzaHacker/BagelMacher SF Now. I do have this one criticism. Why no original art on the boxes? Why no shirts for sale? This Pizza is so good that I want these things. I want to wear a PizzaHacker/BagelMacher shirt. That's what I want. How dare you not have some kind of thing with imagery relating to your fine establishment for strange men like me to wear when they go other places to represent how much they love what you do for Pizza daily? How dare you! Addendum I: Gluten Free SquAIRS After trying the two main styles of Pizza here and receiving a nice message in response to my Review... I felt PizzaHacker deserves something few Pizza Establishments deserve... My trust in them to try their gluten free style. To be fair, it is a lot smaller than the Gluten Full Detroit Style and it is borderline no longer Detroit Style which is why they probably don't call it that. It actually is really good if you are someone who must eat gluten free only. I would say that if you want to eat something good that is almost Detroit Pizza and the exchange of that for your bowels being tied in knots all night isn't worth it to taste the excellence of their Gluten Full Pizzas, this would be good. Obviously Gluten Free is probably never going to be able to be as good as otherwise but this is good. I am not mad I tried it because I love PizzaHacker and they deserve for me to try it and talk about it here. Summary My Ratings, using the One Bite Pizza Rating System: Thin Pie - 8.9 Detroit Style - 9.1 Gluten Free - 7.5
Could not believe the quality of this pizza! Just moved to the neighborhood and had a pizza craving tonight. Been to New York, been to Boston, but The Ohio pizza was the best pepperoni I've ever had, 100% no joke. Will be back for more. The crust, the sauce, the pepperoni... perfection.
Great pizza. Update for six years later, pizza still going strong. They’ve added bagels also in the mornings on some days. Also on the breakfast menu is low carbon coffee. I talked to the proprietor this morning who said it’s more work, but definitely worth it. Pro tip if you have kids, go for pizza around 5, it usually isn’t crowded yet and you can get a table to yourself.

My partner and I got the crowd pleaser pizza, which was a fantastic pizza with a great balance of flavors, textures, and unbeatable crust. We also got the kale Caesar salad which was very well prepared and not heavy at all. Finally we got the meatballs which were in a delicious lightly spicy marinara sauce that was bursting with flavor. It was honestly the best meal I've had in SF in a while!
Thin crust pizza never tasted so good. Buffalo wings were perfect and the Brussel sprouts if wanna be healthy hit the spot. I recommend a margarita pizza, but the best is the Tamalpais, like no other in town.
Great pizzas! even better wings. They also have an amazing beer selection. My favorite pizza was the tamalpais, need another one already.
PizzaHacker does NOT disappoint! I’ve been coming here for years and I’m always impressed and delighted with evert aspect of this establishment.
The food was delicious! The meatballs had so much flavor, the sauce was amazing, the pizza was fabulous. Authentic Italian flavor. We ordered 1 pizza and 3 meatballs and it was perfect for my 3 person family.

Solid pizza ~ The Margarita was alirght "The Ohio" was quality. Very nice place, good beer on tap, good vibes
This place has one of the best pizzas I have had in the bay. The place has a great vibe so perfect for hanging out with friends! The staff here is super friendly and nice. Also almost 70% of their pizzas are vegetarian so options for everyone. FYI- I noticed they use sourdough for their crust.

The Rocket Man pizza smelled great and had a nice thin crust. The garlic was good, but it could’ve used a bit more flavor overall. Even the arugula sauce was bland—and interestingly, it turned sour after being refrigerated. Prep was quick, though. Husband felt his Ohio pizza had way too many peppers.
Solid pizza, nothing special. The options for half salads are cool. I like the Tamalpais, but check the board for specials.

I got the Over the Top pizza and The Ohio as a square pizza. Over the Top was pretty good, would definitely order that one again. I wasn't as impressed with the square pizza, I don't think their sauce works well with the thicker dough. The service was pretty slow as there were only 2 servers for the whole room. I'd definitely order from here again. -2 stars for music being way too loud, it was hard to talk to my partner across the table.
Worst salad ever. I’m sorry to post because we love their pizza but when you pay $16 and get yellow kale it’s disappointing. Should have stuck with pizza. Pic shows a few but won’t order again.

Had the Over the Top and 2 slices had a 3/4" slab of mozzarella that was ICE COLD; the other slices had the cream which was melted. The waitress said that's the way they make it there—it has to be added cold after the pizza comes out of the oven, and she asked if I've had a burrata pizza before. I said yes, this very pizza, 8 times prior here. She said that's weird because this is how it always is. I tried to show her the size difference in the cheese and get her to touch the cold slabs. She wouldn't hahahah. Just kept arguing with me about it. Well we pulled them off and had a decent marinara I guess. YIKES.

We got the margarita pizza and the over the top pizza. The margarita pizza was alright it was too much cheese it didn't really feel like a margarita pizza, and then the over the top one was just not to our taste. The wings were extra cripsy but lacked favor. The home made ranch was also not the best.
We ordered delivery through DoorDash. The “cheese” pizza came BURNT to a crisp, and no cheese. The sauce was good, but otherwise inedible. Do not order. They burn their pizza and don’t put cheese on the cheese pizza.

Small pizza with very minimal weight. No choice for size so you don't know what you'll get until you receive the light weight pizza.
