Stopped by Cơm Tấm Thiên Hương off Story Road for a quick bite and was really impressed! This spot specializes in broken rice dishes, and they do it right. I had the combo plate with BBQ pork, shrimp, and fish cake—all full of flavor and served up hot and fresh. The portions were generous, which made it a solid value. Only small letdown for me: I assumed the plate would come with more than one shrimp (most spots usually give two or three), but it was still tasty. The pork was nicely grilled, the fish cake had good texture, and everything paired perfectly with the broken rice and pickled veggies. Service was quick and efficient. Great casual spot when you’re craving a comforting Vietnamese meal without breaking the bank.

The portion is large and everything is great value and tasted amazing The pho was excellent and the rice plates was so tasty. Do not forget to get the pork spring roll. Yum!

The broken rice smells good and tastes delicious, just like I remember. Bbq pork chops is salty, juicy and chewy, goes well with the rice while the egg cake is on the sweet side with soft texture. The soup that serves as a side dish is chicken broth. Real chicken broth. Really sweet and flavorful. My son ate up both if our soup bowl. They also have this ongoing drink promotion, Buy 1 get 1 free boba drinks. The drinks come from Pho Ong Dia next door, so I guess they are either partnered with each other or same owners.

I always stop by for a rice plate when I'm in the area. While the food is excellent, the service and atmosphere leave a little something to be desired. Also recommend getting here early on the weekends or during the weekday as it can get very packed.

The Beef Ribs were cooked really well and had a nice flavor. Also enjoyed the egg and shrimp. Service was pleasant as I was greeted and served quickly and respectfully. I also did order a Thai Tea which I did enjoy and can’t go wrong with. Clean environment and very modern interior. Will definitely come back again.

Prepare for a wait, do go early and expect a wait. Food wise is tasty and authentic but felt super thirsty after. Do consume water after to hydrate. Felt the bun (dry rice noodles with fish sauce) is would be a good choice vs the soup (pho) .

My father wanted to bring me here for the first time and boy, it did not disappoint. The thit nuong and shrimp cake hit hard. One gripe, hella people waiting in line to have lunch, no reservations. Just walk up and put your name down on a notepad. Other than that, server was quick to take our order. Food arrived fairly quick.

Their simpler boba drinks are buy one get one free which is nice - the drinks and toppings were decent. Food was okay - took a long time to come and was overly salty (we got rice plates that had Korean BBQ ribs). I like that it came with chicken broth, but again, pretty salty. I'd come back again to try something else on the menu, and because the bogo boba is enticing. This place was pretty busy though and it wasn't even peak dinner hours.

Pricey but decent sized portions. They’re known for their broken rice dishes. For pho you can choose between thin and thick rice noodles which is different! The pho isn’t greasy and they give a good amount of meat. The rare steak was quite tender. they gave too much noodles. Order half noodles next time and you may get more broth! Nem nuong (grilled pork spring rolls) were good especially with the crispy egg roll wrappers inside :) I noticed they also have a full on boba menu so it might be nice to grab a drink in your way out.

Good place for com tam. The special has a good variety of things. Though it does get tiring to eat after a couple bites. The meat does taste like lighter fluid and the service is not that great.

A huge thank you to my Vietnamese friend that took me to this great location and ordered us an amazing lunch. Luckily, she knew this the size portions so we were able to split the meal. One of my favorites was the barbecue short rib that just melted in your mouth. There is a wait when you go, but it is well worth it

Pho Ong Dia is its real name. The food is good and has big portion. Their price is so cheap compared all other Pho restaurants. Their service is quick too. The outdoor environment is very as tropical.

Stop for lunch with our big family and relatives. Food was great, phở really flavorful, cơm tấm sườn chả chiên đặc biệt are excellent. Unfortunately the table we are seating has so many ants 🐜… we told the server and they just doing nothing about, not even acknowledging it.

One of our favorite place to get pho, com tam (rice plate), and other Vietnamese dishes. They have promotional price of only $11.95 for pho and com ga roti (chicken rice plate) which is posted on the window and not shown on the menu. They have many patio tables. Note that a 3.75% fee will be added to all credit card payments.

Really good but too much msg make you cough so cant eat on the regular. The free soup was ok initially but tastes gross lately. water sometimes is not good but this time is ok. These are not a big problem as long as the beef n pork ribs are good. I like this place better than other.

The food was very good but, I would say that the service is lacking at times and there’s not very much atmosphere at the restaurant inside or outside. Pretty good though but, I would recommend going early because it can get crowded very quickly and the waiting can go up from 30 minutes - an hour.

The noodles were tender and fresh, and the portion size was generous. The slices of beef were thin, flavorful, and cooked just right in the hot broth. I also appreciated the fresh herbs, bean sprouts, lime, and chili served on the side, which allowed me to customize each bowl to my taste. The overall experience was warm and satisfying—exactly what you want from a great bowl of pho. I would definitely come back again for another comforting meal. Had to wait in line for 30 mins.

The location is extremely popular among both Vietnamese and non Vietnamese (especially those with Vietnamese girlfriend/wife). I've had to put down my name on the list every time I've been here. This location also closes in the afternoon so plan your trip accordingly. The good thing is that the food is great as it gives you the most options for com tam (broken rice) in terms of what extra you want. The price also reflects the popularity as the price is usually 25-30% than the other com tam places across the street. The service is very efficient because they are keen making sure table turns efficiently. Tip is really optional which is great and I feel inclined to give tips this way. The location is not as big as you'd think so they have outside sections when it's too busy.

Bbq chicken was over marinated and just warm, not hot. Rice was not as fragrant as I expected and packed too densely. Shredded pig skin was an acquired taste and not to our liking. The pork rib was dried and too salty. Profanity hip hop music blast in our ears. $20.95 per dish whether you want that much food or not. Fried egg a la cart for extra $2.00 . Thiên Huong never included fried egg in the rice plate. So they can charged more. What a tactics. No more Thiên Huong. I’m done with you.

Had the Hainanese Chicken rice (yes, I know it is the wrong cuisine) but was not expecting it to be so bad. It would not have passed Vietnamese Chicken Rice either as the chicken was extremely dry and was mostly bones. The rice had no chicken flavor. I am surprised they got it so wrong. Would hesitate to visit again.

Extremely RUDE customer service. The guy who took us pointed us to a patio table, but we asked for inside table to which he said there was none. We asked how long would the wait be and he said “I don’t know”. And while we were deciding if we should just go w patio table (which was like 3 seconds) he left us to take another group. How rude!!!! As for the food, everything single thing was overwhelmingly sweet. Had sugar coma after eating just a few bites of their special cơm tấm. Every single bite felt like a spoonful of sugar. Servers would just randomly take stuffs from your table while mumbling “excuse me”. I’d rather pay $2k flight ticket to Saigon to have proper cơm tấm and be treated like a fellow human than enduring this. I do not get the hype about this place! Why is it acceptable that Asian restaurants can get away with bad customer service as long as the food this decent. Why not both?? It just leaves an awful image on the Asian community. We should have higher standards. I can’t take my non-Viet friends to a Viet restaurant without having to warn them about the bad customer service 🤦🏻‍♀️.

I flew in from Seattle to hang out with my Brother that lives here in San Jose for his birthday. His wife and Himself spoke about this place and originally spoke highly of their previous experience. So you can imagine that I was excited to dine here. My Brother, His Wife and myself sat outside to have lunch because we wanted to be near the trees. The tables weren’t clear yet, but we mentioned that we’ll be patient and wait for them to bus the tables, so that we can eat outside. Not a big deal for us to wait. However, it seemed like they didn’t want to clear the section because it was more work. Keep in mind that it wasn’t busy at all when we sat down, however people we slowly coming in after we ordered our food. 25 minutes go by and the people around us were served their rice plates and pho.. I understand pho is served quickly, but how can their rice plates be served before us and we were there 10-15 minutes prior to anyone else in our section? Bizarre. Now it just seems like we’re aren’t welcomed based on service priority. We waved down a man and asked where our food was because everyone else was served around us. He gave us a look, didn’t acknowledge us, then walked away with an annoyed facial expression. 5 minutes later they came out with our food and quickly noticed that all the proteins were cold! How do you BBQ beef ribs and shrimp, then it comes out cold? The only part of our meal that was hot was the broken rice. Not even the broth bowl soup was hot. That’s crazy. Unimpressed and annoyed, we asked the server to exchange our plates. She then suggested for us to put the proteins on a plate so she could microwave it, instead of making us a new plate that is up to basic standards. If we wanted something cold to eat, I would’ve went to get ice cream. They didn’t even try to accommodate for their bad service or tried to make it right. We just ended up eating our plates cold because at this point we understood that they weren’t going to do anything to make our experience a positive one. After finishing up the meal, we spoke to management and the server accused us of eating half of our meal before notifying them about the cold plates. I took a bite of the rice and only touched the ribs with my fingers to feel the temperature. Not only do they not take accountability, they would insult us and lie about the situation to avoid accountability. I know I don’t live here, but I truly wanted to like this place and come back when I visit from Seattle. That will never happen though. I’m sure there are other restaurants around the area that appreciate their customers and serve food with pride. Now it just seems like we’re aren’t welcomed based on service priority. We waved down a man and asked where our food was because everyone else was served around us. He gave us a look, didn’t acknowledge us, then walked away with an annoyed facial expression. 5 minutes later they came out with our food and quickly noticed that all the proteins were cold! How do you BBQ beef ribs and shrimp, then it comes out cold? The only part of our meal that was hot was the broken rice. Not even the broth bowl soup was hot. That’s crazy. Unimpressed and annoyed, we asked the server to exchange our plates. She then suggested for us to put the proteins on a plate so she could microwave it, instead of making us a new plate that is up to basic standards. If we wanted something cold to eat, I would’ve went to get ice cream. They didn’t even try to accommodate for their bad service or tried to make it right. We just ended up eating our plates cold because at this point we understood that they weren’t going to do anything to make our experience a positive one. After finishing up the meal, we spoke to management and the server accused us of eating half of our meal before notifying them about the cold plates. I took a bite of the rice and only touched the ribs with my fingers to feel the temperature. Not only do they not take accountability, they would insult us and lie about the situation to avoid accountability. I know I don’t live here, but I truly wanted to like this place and come back when I visit from Seattle. That will never happen though. I’m sure there are other restaurants around the area that appreciate their customers and serve food with pride. The place had potential, then you realize they’re selective about which customers deserve good service. Look at the photo. Looks great doesn’t it? Well, it would be if it wasn’t cold, and if they actually wanted you to be there. Only thing good about this place is the neighbor Coffee shop next door. -Rich Nguyen
