I order Sasimi combo was not the best but it ok. Great place feel warm and cozy. Staff are friendly and helpful. restroom very clean. Parking was to find.
The staff is amazing and super sweet. My family and I arrived at the location but decided to do a takeout, everything was well prepared and taste delicious. The presentation and packaging elevates our experience even when eating from home. Thank you so much for having us, we highly recommend and will come again.
We discovered a hidden gem in a strip mall! We sampled numerous dishes, starting with the California roll. Despite using imitation crab, their unique method of finely mashing it, combined with excellent sushi rice, made it exceptional. The gyoza were a highlight—crispy on the outside and tender inside. Each order came with six pieces, and we enjoyed them so much we ordered another round. We tried three different sizzling rice plates: pork belly, Korean short rib, and eel. All were outstanding and left us craving more. Beware, though—the sizzling plates are extremely hot. We also enjoyed a noodle dish, though I can't recall its name, and the chicken udon noodle soup, which was quite satisfying with its perfectly textured noodles and savory broth—perfect comfort food. Our only complaint was that one dish was forgotten, and we had to remind the staff. It must have been an oversight in the kitchen. Nevertheless, we waited patiently for the last dish to arrive before starting our meal. Parking is abundant in this mall, so there's no need to worry about that. I'm eager to return and try more sushi and sashimi. They looked incredibly fresh at other tables. January 2025 update: Yes, this is my new obsession place. I’ve been here three times in one month. This time I focused on sushi. The sashimi combination was full of large fish pieces, very fresh, on a bed of ice to keep them cool , and with both fresh and concentrated wasabi. Excellent! The Hamachi carpaccio was delicious. Tangy and with a little spice from sliced chilies. You will not see carpaccio this big elsewhere. But even though it’s big, it was very tender and delicious. And lastly, as a filler, California roll. They’re just good. March 2025 update: Doh! I found a weak point, in my opinion. I had the pork belly ramen for the first time. I want thrilled. The soup base was very bland and the noodles seemed more instant than authentic. I don’t know, I could be wrong but that was my thought. The eel sizzling rice plate was as fantastic as ever, though. I think I’ll stick to those sizzlers and the sushi and sashimi next time. May 2025 update: Tried something new this time. It’s a hot pot. With beef, mushrooms, tofu, glass noodles, and veggies. I really think one order is good enough for two people. But if course my eyes are bigger than my stomach, as usual, and ordered California roll and hamachi nigiri. And then I was FULL! The one thing they can improve is they to serve hot tea. I mean, it’s all Asian food here. So we asked for hot water instead. Guess what, no hot water.
This is a casual Asian eatery where you order through a QR code on the table. It’s small but clean. There’s plenty of parking in the lot and the menu is varied. Everything from sushi to hot pot to sizzling rice bowls (although mine did not sizzle. It was a fizzle-hence only 4 stars for food). But the food arrived promptly and the hot pot was big enough for two.
My favorite local spot that has never disappointed with any entree. I ordered their curry chicken katsu sizzling plate and my partner ordered the pork belly sizzling plate. While the curry is thinner than I’m used to at other katsu places, there is still a lot of flavor! There’s also a garlic miso butter they put on top of the rice that melts beautifully and blends all the flavors perfectly. 10/10 do visit. Portions are big, price is reasonable
delicious food, cozy atmosphere, super friendly owners; what else could you ask for? i loved the food here and will definitely come back. my favorites were the takoyaki and sweet potato fries. the sizzling beef short rib rice was yummy as well, but next time i would take out some of the butter on top because it was too much for me personally. still, i highly recommend eating here 🩷
I stopped into Mimi's Kitchen after a day in San Jose. I was looking for a good ramen spot, and this place had really high reviews. I wanted ramen but saw the Sizzling Beef Plate and it looked delicious. I ordered the Sizzling Beef, gyoza, and takoyaki. It was my first time trying a Sizzling Beef dish and the takoyaki. Both dishes came out steaming hot. (Make sure to poke some holes in the takoyaki so it can cool down a little.) The beef dish continued to cook at my table as the meat went from medium rare to medium. I took a bite off the top and got a lot of the salty seasoning. After mixing everything together the dish became more balanced and every bite was full of flavor! You place your order from the QR code located on the table and the women working bring out your food as soon as it is ready. They were very polite and welcoming, and worked hard cleaning and helping customers throughout my entire visit. It is a small restaurant, but super clean with nice decorations and quotes on the walls. Next time I come back, I will have to try the ramen and the cheesy corn! Highly recommend if you are looking for something different!
Cheese baked corn is excellent!!! Squid is nice and I always love the Takoyaki! Ramen on the other side is just okay, but…what do you want for a $12 bowl ramen in Bay Area! All in all, cozy little place, will come again!
Food was amazing! We got the eel sizing plate and beef stir fry udon. We brought our little one with us and they were so accommodating and even gave him a toy! ❤️ Service was quick and ordering was done though your phone. It was cool to use the online ordering. Definitely worth a try and we will be back!
Restaurant is cute with an Asian modern vibe. The staff are extremely attentive and kind. The food was delicious. I had the Beef Fry Udon. It was flavorful and a generous portion. The pork belly sizzle was delicious too. My friend finished every morsel of food on his plate. Would definitely return. Only minor con is I'd like to have more sides of veggies to order and maybe some additional beverage options. Can't wait to come back.
This is the first restaurant I saw in Bay that provides such nice packaging for the takeout orders. It doesn't only keep the dishes hot but also shows how the owners go an extra mile in respect and care for the customers. The food is great but that gesture is something that would really make me come back
Quaint little restaurant tucked away in a corner of a shopping center with charming vibe and welcoming staff. I ordered a pork belly/rice sizzling dish and some hamachi nigiri. The fish was fresh and buttery in texture, and the pork belly dish was complex with delicious flavors, and a nice sized portion. Everything was perfect. I'm so happy I found this place so close to home, and I'll definitely be coming back for more 🙏🏼
Supporting neighborhood foods place. They are actually really good. I would give 4 1/2 stars if I can. Parking is great..Will come again try others foods. I do recommend.
The food is really great and the staff (I believe they are the owners) were very friendly. Food service was excellent. I highly recommend this place and we will definitely come back soon. We forgot to take more photos because we got excited every time they bring our orders.
Amazing food, great service & ambiance, and the prices are so good for the amount of food you get! We ordered the takoyaki, pork broth ramen, and beef pepper rice for $34 total. All 3 dishes were delicious! Highly recommend 😊
The food was great would come back here again.

Mimi’s Kitchen is so yummy! The prices are affordable, the portion sizes are great and the staff are very friendly! I often get raw salmon and it’s always fresh!
We stopped by MiMi's Kitchen after a track meet up the hill for takeout, and the universal sentiment is that we would all like to go back. The sizzling rice plates worked well as takeout, and I never even saw the chirashi consumed post-race. The restaurant itself was a clean and pleasant little nook with plenty of seating, and definitely invited us to go eat there on our next visit!

This is a nice little hidden gem with a variety of Korean and Japanesen dishes! There's a bunch of popular appetizers like cheese corn, edamame, gyoza, takoyaki, miso soup, and shrimp tempura. They also have a huge variety of sizzling rice bowls served in a stone bowl with different kinds of proteins. One kind that I wasn't expecting was chicken/pork katsu with curry. They also have 3 kinds of ramen, chicken/pork belly/beef. They have nigiri, sashimi, hand rolls, and all the popular sushi rolls! They also have fried udon if you're into stir fried noodles. If you like classic soup udon, they have that too! Finally, the last main dish on their menu is hot pot. We came here for dinner and got the pork belly ramen and lion roll, both of which were delicious! The prices here also seem fair with their portion sizes.
Exceptional! Wow... highly recommend! After reading the reviews, I decided to have my birthday lunch here. We ordered the sizzling rice eel. Soooo good. My friends ordered the Chicken Udon, the Beef Ramen, and the California Roll. After sampling each other's dish, we all agreed it was some of the best Japanese infusion we have ever had. The gyoza and spring rolls were very tasty as well. No beer or saki for sale (bummer)...

Tucked away in the corridor of an unassuming strip mall, Mimi's had a wait list after 8pm. It was Friday night though and we didn't mind the wait. There are maybe 8-10 tables and you need to wait outside until your name is called (after giving it to someone behind the counter). Service was fast and friendly! I got the beef sizzling rice plate and cheese corn. The food portions were larger than average for the price but the flavor I thought could have been better as it was just OK. My husband ordered the sizzling shrimp plate and squid appetizer. He loved both, but that's also probably because he never gets seafood at home. 😂 Good place for teens and to bring the kiddos as the plates have a ton of rice to protien ratio. I would go back in a pinch, but my husband already knows what he wants to order on our next visit!
