First time going, I was seated right away. I ordered a "sashimi regular" dinner that included soup, salad, and three types of fish. Everything tasted fresh and delicious. I had my dinner with hot sake. Service was prompt and friendly. I went there a second time a couple of days later and had a similar experience as the first time. I will be returning.
We went to Sushi Boat today and the food was delicious 😋 and the service was spectacular. Limit amount of people inside which was great for us. We were singing HaPpY BiRtHdAy to my daughter and after we were done the staff brought over Frozen Green Tea dessert with Tempera Crust for us (we didn't order it) that was such a nice surprise. Thank you Sushi Boat for taking the extra step to end a great meal 🍱🍣🫖🍤🍥🍧
We have been coming here for almost 20 years. It can be a little pricey but it shows in the quality of food. Great sushi place and they have kids meals too. For the freshest sushi, we always sit at a table and order our favorite sushi. My favorites are the 49ers roll and Rainbow roll. We normally have Sapparo with our sushi and tempura ice cream for dessert, its so delicious.
We only eat cooked rolls, and our favorites are the Crunch, Simba and California tempura rolls. Oh, and the fried matcha Ice Cream is so good! Food is consistently good and great service!
This is our neighborhood sushi place and is our go to sushi spot. My wife likes sushi, unfortunately I do no. Luckily Sushi Boat Town has really good teriyaki chicken (or beef) available. My wife by the way likes their sushi and really likes their sashimi which I understand is a bowl or raw fish.
My favorite place to go for Sushi, it's 8 out of a 10 for taste but service and comfort is a 10! Love Sushi Boat Town.
I always go for lunch. The food is fresh and there are great lunch items. The service is great and I see that people from a nearby school go there for lunch as well. Affordable and I go to the nearby laundromat and throw a load in while I have lunch. Works for me!
This is a Japanese restaurant with thick sashimi. The jalapeno fried boom menu is unique and delicious. Boat flow system and Tempura,Fried ice cream,is fun too.
I love this place. I am not a sushi fan and this is my parents favorite place to eat. When I went back home to visit we went out to dinner and we ended up here. I started with a chicken teriyaki plate and then my parents made me try their sushi. First I had a shrek roll, amazing! Then I had the ever popular California roll and it was so so but then I tried the spicy version and it was great. Now that I am back home I have been craving for a shrek roll and it seems to be a special one they make. They have great service and remember my parents and are attentive to their needs. The food is always good and we hardly have leftovers.
Service was good...the hostess was very nice also took care of me right away. Also the boat theme was cute.
Service here is great! Always quick with frequent check-ins on our table. Also... $1 hot sake on weeknights! 🤯

My go-to spot for sushi and I recommend it to others great prices great staff great drinks

Great local place. If you call for a pick up order, it’s typically ready so fast within 10 to 15 minutes. The staff is always so nice and professional.
Such a great spot for sushi! Everything tasted fresh and the staff was very welcoming. The sushi boats make it a fun and unique experience. Highly recommend Sushi Boat Town if you’re in the area.
I went here with friends for dinner. They had delicious fare from sushi rolls to ramen to bento boxes. We sat at a table so we could partake of our conversation and subsequent laughter but single or couples can sit at the sushi boat and snag delicious sushi from the ever rotating sushi boat trolley. Good food, good service
A great place for some semi-expensive yet great tasting sushi. You can go all out for a special occasion or just eat casually. There are lots of sections to choose from, and the food is always very delicious!
I came on a Monday night. It was the best sushi boat experience I've ever had. Lots of choices, great service, ample parking. A bit expensive but worth it (over $50 for me alone). I left with a full belly and a smile on my face.
I love how we can sit next to the boats and get whatever we want. it’s great for people who are anti social but still want their own choice. 100% recommend.

Best testament I can give about this place as I missed being able to go there. But in the past used to enjoy going here at least once a month for lunch. A nice simple bento box or something always made for a good lunch. Definitely worth giving this place a try.
now is kind of expensive good flsvor but nothing spectacular
We've ordered takeout a few times from Sushi Boat Town. They have a nice selection, and the portions seem pretty good. The sushi itself was quite good for 1) the price and 2) being takeout and not eaten as fresh as it otherwise would be. Service was a bit slow (i.e. it took them awhile to 'find' our order when we arrived, and calling in the order was a bit difficult due to language barriers). Regardless, we certainly plan to return again.
Service was excellent. Manners come along way nowadays. So I appreciate it. The food was good as well. We got specialty rolls, & maybe that's why we got so much sauce. Didn't like that part. Everything else was good. Checked it out through word of mouth. They at least offer Godzilla 🐲 rolls, hard to find. My favorite & my lady's goto for this place is the jalapeño rolls! Really good! 👍
Prices are up significantly post COVID and due to inflation. It's been awhile since we've been here. The food has always been consistent. It's very good. Service at the table was not great as we had to go find the server even when we were ready to pay. It wasn't busy at the time either. We had a party of 16.
Ok, this review probably won't matter to 99% of you because weirdly enough, I don't eat sushi or any seafood for that matter. I come here because my boyfriend loves sushi. However, I do get this spicy chicken burrito that is really good! The service is great, and Angel is an awesome chef! I'm giving 4 stars only because the 3 times I've been here, it seems to take them 25-30 minutes to make my burrito.
Well, the food was pretty good. The hot stuff came out hot/fresh instead of sitting waiting. The cold stuff sushi had good flavor, and plenty of fish. The service was a little erratic, with appetizers arriving after main courses, but difference between appetizer and main course gets blurry when most of it is finger food. So, yeah I'll be back.
I do have to say this place was decent for sushi. Hubby and I were in town, our old stomping ground and decided to have sushi. I Yelped and found this place has good rating. Friendly service, though the price for their bento box was EXPENSIVE, we decided to simply order sushi from the menu and sushi from the boat. Good quality and not have been sitting on the boat for the longest time like other sushi boat restaurants. Price for our lunch was reasonable. Now we can where to go the next time we're in town and decide to have sushi for lunch. Service: A+ Quality: A++ Price: $$$ (for bento boxes)
I never really find many sushi boat restaurants anymore (but a similar concept is being spread with kura with their conveyor system), but this one in south san jose is still one if the traditional sushi boat restaurants you'd find in the mid 2000's to mid 2010's! You can choose to sit around the sushi boats or sit at a booth as you wish. Like all other sushi boat restaurants, you grab little plates of sushi and depending on the plate it was served on, that was the price. Prices of sushi on the boats ranged from $4.30 to $10. On a lunch day like this, not too many sushi were on the boats unfortunately... maybe it might be more popular at dinner or weekends. If the sushis on the boat dont appeal too well, there are many more options available through their huge menu! There are teriyaki plates to bento boxes to even a unique burrito sushi roll style dish! I ordered a bento box and the beef tasted pretty good minus the sauce which felt flat. It came with soup and salad and rice as well as a orange and dumpling! The main highlight of the bento box though was the tempura! It was really crispy and well breaded and fried! I loved the sauce it came with as well! $20 Service was very minimal and most interaction i had was just the payment as soon as i was done. But the place seemed to be well staffed and got around to anyone needing refills, etc. Overall it was a pretty good experience! Although the bento box kinda felt a little overpriced...
Went here for dinner and it was really good. The tempura ice cream was amazing. Love the vibe and the staff was nice. Their fried gyoza is really good. You can really get a good variety of sushi at the bar.
My honey and I definitely love Sushi!!! We stop by this place for the first time and I immediately drawn to their cleanliness and beautiful decorations. It was a bit pricy but their Sushi is fresh and good. We were pretty hungry so we ordered our favorite Charachi Bowl and couple of rolls. Charachi Bowl was really tasty and pretty!!!😍
First, there really is a sushi boat by the sushi bar here! Second, Prices are very reasonable. They have $1 hot sake Monday to Friday. Lots of good options on the extensive menu. Very friendly staff. We love this place for the good food, decent decor, nice staff and free edamame. Keep it up sushi boat.

Good for a quick bite from their floating sushi boat arrangement or sit down at a table for a more traditional sit down situation. Quality food, quick service.

Food was just ok. Prices at the bar are high for what you get. $5 for jello. $5 for 3 slices of california or 3 put stickers. Atmosphere got better from what it used to be but prices are unjustifiable for the quality and quantity of food you get.
Mediocre food at best. This sushi was okay we sat at the boat and felt like every employee was staring at us like we were going to steal or something. I eat sushi at least three times a week at multiple places (sushi kick) and a friend said this was ok. I gave this place a chance and I don't think I'll be returning not only because of lack of quality of fish, but because of the stares and constant eye balling on our lunch meeting. Felt very awkward and disrespected.
Maybe the most expensive sushi I’ve been to in the Bay Area, I was a bit it shocked given location. Sushi was fine though so I would probably only go back if they axed like $6 - $8 off their speciality rolls
The location and the view is spectacular. We stayed going during covid because they do a good job of keeping tables a good distance apart and plenty of outdoor seating. That said, the service was slow (45 min from order to food on the table). The menu is limited, nothing made "have to try it". The presentation was beautiful but I was sad to pay $100 for a family of 4. Paid for the place and not the food ..
This is a decent sushi place in South San Jose area. Nothing to crave for. Not a fancy place. Yet a good place for good sushi. Decor is less than average. Service is good. Place is very neat. Restrooms are well maintained. Your can also sit by the bar and order the sushi on the sushi boat. They boast $1 sake Monday to Friday. All in all a decent sushi place.
Food was good, spacious and clean interior, drinks had free refill Cons: very limited options on the train, when I asked to refill one roll on the train, it never happened and I never got that roll on the train again! Prices are not reasonable
Take-out order. Great food and good portions. Had the unaju dinner plate, but was a little disappointed w/ its preparation; I'm use to seeing a full unagi fillet over the rice, but in this case, looks like they use the cuts used in the unagi rolls- spread out over the rice . If I knew that, I would of ordered a different dish. They have a hugh selection of rolls to choose from price can go from ~$7-$10 for the simple rolls to $20+ for the more elaborate ones. Will be back to explore their other dishes

Online order: I’m consistently disappointed by one issue: they combine different sushi orders into a single container. This might seem efficient, but it means only one set of ginger, wasabi, and soy sauce for multiple people. Most recently, my coworker and I received both cooked and uncooked sushi mixed in one box—with just one tiny soy sauce container to share. It’s frustrating and frankly unhygienic. Are they trying to cut costs by saving on containers, soy sauce, or plastic cups? Whatever the reason, it really impacts the experience. If I’m placing multiple orders, I expect them to be packaged individually with everything each person needs.

I really wanted to like this place. Called in for the $31 Ninja special and got a handful of beef short ribs that were just bones and bad cuts of unseasoned black/burnt meat.. very mediocre sushi rolls, and forgettable tempura. The only good thing were two tiny bits of raw fish but it was overall not great! Staff at the front were kind of rude as well. Would not recommend
We sat at the sushi bar. The sushi seemed to be of decent quality and the fish appeared fresh. The food was mediocre, the teriyaki beef was not fully cooked or sliced making it difficult to eat. The miso soup was diluted. Additionally I found hairs on 2 of my dishes. The food was served in dishes that were chipped and some of the sushi boats had tape holding them together.

I placed an order through the phone for a simple shrimp tempura roll and they said it will be ready between 10-15 minutes I get there and my roll was not ready and waited 30 minutes to get it. $15 for the roll and the wait was not good at all. My first time trying it not happy about it.
Used to love this place. But lately it’s become crazy expensive to the point that it’s not worth it (rolls that are $12 in other places are $18 and taste worse!) Left me and the person I was with feeling nauseous on multiple occasions. During my last visit, I thought they were just having an off day. Today it was confirmed that the food is just bad quality. In summary: high prices, bad food. Safeway sushi is better.
I don’t recommended this place. Came here for lunch on Tuesday 11/25. The food was not tasty and not fresh. Price point is the same as other sushi places. Even the basic California roll was so so my kid disliked it and didn’t finish. The agashi tofu, before ordering I asked the waitress if it was the soft silk tofu. She said yes. It came out 4 giant pieces of firm tofu that couldn’t fit in the tiny bowl. Then she checked in if everything was ok, I told her I didn’t want firm tofu. She went in to check with kitchen and came back was like yeah it’s firm sorry.
