Had the chicken lime rice plate, it was very tasty and fresh. Healthy and delicious. I will definitely come back! Friendly staff too.
I got the spicy chicken and it’s truly just as good if not better than a lot of fine dining restaurants I’ve been to. My first bite of the chicken had my eyes rolling back. The skin was so crispy and the meat is tender. (I think they use the thigh for this plate.) The sauces, spices, flavors, textures are so good. And the sweet potato was probably cooked in coconut oil so it really compliments everything so well. Yum yum yum! The person who took our order was super sweet as well. We sat outside and worked on laptops. Comfortable and quiet outdoors. No bad smells from trash cans nearby. No bugs or annoying crowds. Music level at a good volume. No complaints about this place.
Love this spot! Make a point of stopping here whenever I have extended time in Santa Monica. The food feels light and energizing (big fan of the Spicy Calabrian Caesar), the team here is friendly, and the music is always vibey. Love the patio area in the back. Highly recommended for a fast casual fix.
Super clean and healthy — you’re able to customize and take out or add ingredients. I got the wild harvest wrap without the dressing, cheese, and with a gluten free tortilla. The ingredients were clean, filling and satisfying. I was pleased with the quality of the ingredients , and the sweet potatoe and apples in it tasted really fresh and so did the roasted chicken. The sunflower salad was also great - it had grains, greens, and I swapped out apple for strawberry, took out the dressing and overall I enjoyed the taste. I also added roasted chicken and it was fresh and tasted pretty quality. Overall the flavor of alfafa was pretty good and the presentation of the food was great; I rate food based off of freshness most of the time and alfafa’s food felt really fresh! I also like their pink aesthetic — would highly recommend if you’re looking for a quick sit down or to go place that is satisfying and not heavy. Honestly, no complaints
‘West Coast’ salad was life changing. No word of a lie. I’m not a huge salad person but I’d come back for sure. It’s cool that they let you choose the ‘level’ of dressing amount when ordering via the kiosk, never seen that before. Staff were extra friendly and I loved the overall feel of the place too. Nice courtyard, good vibes, everyone seemed happy. Next time I come back I’ll be trying one of their donuts too for sure!
Great food and second only to the staff. This is the kind of place you feel good about supporting. The breakfast burrito was fantastic and the salad in the picture (can’t remember the name).
We loved Alfalfa! The breakfast burritos were very good, I had the chorizo one and my wife had the peppers one I think. We both really enjoyed them. The green salsa with it was spectacular if you enjoy cilantro you will love it. We also split an apple donut. Was very moist and dense. My wife had an iced coffee she said was very very good. Definitely would check out for a quick cute breakfast! Staff was super friendly and helpful!
New spot here in Santa Monica. I stumbled upon this restaurant in while doing some shopping on Main St with my girlfriend. The pink walls and patio seating really drew us to staying for a bite. We went inside to a long lunch rush line and knew the restaurant was popping! GM there was super accommodating running around, making sure everyone was being taken care of so service was immediately top notch. On top of that, the indoor aesthetic, interior design, bountiful lighting, music and displays really made the experience warm and welcoming. To add to that, they had a clean and spacious outdoor back patio, with a solid seating arrangement, and surrounded by lots of plants and nice lighting. All the details were there. For food we ordered the Peruvian Chicken salad, 2 donuts (HOMEMADE oreo and Australian butter), the chorizo burrito, and the ginger turmeric lemonade. Let me say it loud and clear for discretion: I NEVER GO OUT OF MY WAY TO ORDER A SALAD! But salads were the main dishes on the menu so I had to settle. THE SALAD WAS AMAZING! Ingredients super fresh and mixture flavorful. But what really satisfied me was the portion. Quality food with a hearty portion, I forgot I was mainly eating greens. That good. The chorizo burrito absolutely slapped as well, and the hot sauce straight fire. The homemade donuts were then the perfect dessert to top it off, and the lemonade was refreshing and enjoyable, Not too sweet but still light and tasty. DO NOT SLEEP ON ALFALFA! For a brand new spot here in Santa Monica, I was impressed all around, and you could tell the ownership/staff really put their heart and devotion into the quality of service, vibes, environment, and food. I would 10/10 recommend and go out of my way to get a salad from here again.
My wife and I absolutely loved Alfalfa!! They had a delicious selection of donuts that are gluten-free. The lavender and lemon thyme were delicious! We also ordered the chorizo breakfast burritos and we really liked the side salsas. My wife ordered the matcha latte and loved it! Staff was super friendly and informative about the ingredients in their food. Music and overall atmosphere is a definite vibe! Highly recommend and will be coming back.
Food and service was excellent, highly recommend! My sister and I live in SD but were in Santa Monica for the day and stopped here for lunch. I got the cobb salad and my sister got the West Coast wrap and both were excellent. We both also got the Ginger Turmeric Lemonade which we couldn't rave enough about. We loved the soft hits of the ginger and turmeric, not overpowering, and it wasn't too sweet like other lemonades. Overall, the food was excellent and I couldn't say enough about how great the service was. I wish there was a location in SD so we could stop by for lunch more often but we'll definitely make sure to stop by again when were up in Santa Monica.
OMG!!! This place was everything we were looking for and more. We were so pleasantly surprised by the food quality and the beautiful patios. You have a choice of street side patio or head to the back of the house for a private patio area. The burritos were amazing and we really enjoyed our lattes. We would highly recommend this place to anybody looking for vegetarian options or fresh food made quickly. Oh!! The donuts and Nutella bites look amazing, but we were too full from our breakfast wraps to go down that road. We have no doubt that they are great and they are gluten free as well
After ~50 orders I should leave a review 🥰 The wrap formerly known as the Beyond Far East has officially rolled into my monthly budget. While at first the new changes to the menu, offerings, and pricing made me question my loyalty, alfalfa regained my trust. The Far East with tofu (all vegan) whether as a wrap, gf wrap, or salad is my favorite lunch. I think the move is "heavy mixed in" which glues the ingredients together and gives contrast for all those superfood crunchies. Do I miss the edamame and complimentary side of sauce to dip? Absolutely. But in this economy restauranteurs are struggling to stay open, and customers are struggling to keep up with price hikes, so let's meet in the middle. Thank you alfalfa for obviously grinding away and making salads exciting.
Lack of indoor space or good outdoor heating almost made me rate this 4 stars. But, after many visits, the quality of food, staff, and the whimsical inclusion of donuts gravitates me towards 5 stars. You can create own salad if the menu doesn’t scratch your itch. (photo shows custom salad)
Highly customizable! Best salad I have had in recent memory! The Peruvian chicken is amazing, and the back patio is very cute.

Found this place about a year ago during the fires and have been loyal ever since. Best burritos in LA and the salmon plate is delicious. Always great energy there, a couple of employees know my name now and I love that about a restaurant. The only thing I would say is it’s a bit dated, it’s clean but could use a little updating on the decor.
I have been a few times recently, just relocated here. This is such a great spot. I usually take my food home, but today I decided to eat inside. The spicy Caesar wrap was killer as always. The counter staff were very friendly and helpful, I will likely eat in more often now.
Absolutely amazing experience from start to finish. The food was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care, and the portions were generous. The service was friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere made it a great place to sit down and enjoy a meal. You can tell a lot of pride goes into this place. I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending it to others.
Amazing food and service!!! I cannot thank Ricky enough for his absolutely incredible customer service. My coworker is going on maternity leave and we wanted to have lunch in the office to celebrate. Unfortunately, the driver grabbed the wrong order, but the Alfalfa team was quick to correct this mistake. We were able to get our correct order within the hour. We ordered a few wraps and salads which were phenomenal! We are definitely going to order again (the Buffalo Goddess was our fan favorite).

Alfalfa was a cute little donut shop that’s easily accessible if you’re around Santa Monica. They have unique flavors with deals on a half dozen donuts if you’re planning to buy that many. The donuts were delicious and perfectly glazed. I bought their lemon thyme donut, but I also had a bite of their tres leches donut and both were incredible!

The chorizo breakfast burrito could have convinced me I had covid it was so bland, and my coffee tasted like water. Zero risk. Zero reward. Nice place tho.
It’s a no for me. Ordered the *vegan far west salad and it’s simply not good. The harmony of the flavors simply did not come together. Firstly the lettuce is way to big with full pieces of broccoli in it. It made it really hard for the dressing to coat everything. Is that canned beets? Nasty color and taste on the beets permeated everything. The veggies felt unfresh and WHY IS THE BREADED CHICKEN COLD AND MIXED IN? Why not cook the chicken nice and hot and put it on top of the salad? The breading got soggy quick. Pro: Nice service inside the store, they forgot to put any utensils in my to go bag but were kind about rectifying. I used to machine to order and got a discount for first time of $7. So I only paid $10+ for the salad.
