Sonoma Eats

Amazing food that is Michelin quality! We have eaten here, or gotten takeout, at least a dozen times in the last month. We like to try different restaurants, and going to the same one, is not something we typically do, but Sonoma Eats, is that good. I can’t say enough about the food, or the staff, who take hospitality to the next level! The mole negro is my favorite. I would have posted pictures, but our food disappeared too fast. Stay tuned for a future pic post.

Best Mexican in the valley. Superior service. Amazing food. TACO TUESDAY!!!! Edit: This is actually the best restaurant in Sonoma. Super tasty, super consistent, super reasonable.

Super delicious. The chile verde pork was awesome and the al pastor I tried a bite of was mouth watering. Tortillas are hot and fresh and there’s outdoor seating.

This place never disappoints!!! Amazing food, great costumer service and the ey have indoor and outdoor sitting areas.

Must visit Sonoma Eats in Sonoma!! Food is sooo delish w friendly great service very clean spacious location and outdoor patio seating too. Get tacos (birria too!!) , tamales, enchiladas or burritos you cannot go wrong here. Also espresso lattes avail too. Thx for wonderful meals & fresh tasty holiday tamales - will come back soon!

I'm a taco guy through and through. Sonoma eats delivers for those taco lovers out there. I had the barria and pastor tacos and they both took me back to a eating a street taco in Mexico

10/5 stars if google would let me. 🤩👏The pastries (come early!) are incredible and the coffee is strong. You can tell they have a high standard for quality and pride over their food. The interior is vibey, and the shaded dog-friendly patio is clean, secluded and covered in plants/flowers. The best Mexican restaurant in Sonoma by far for a quick treat/pastry, brunch, lunch OR dinner. They have it all!

The food was good but the main attraction was Poco Loco a great Latin/jazz band.

I loved Sonoma Eats! It was recommended by the property manager at our vacation rental. The food was delicious, the service was friendly and the atmosphere was fun. The layout is a little odd, but we were a big party and sat in their one big booth. It’s super cute from the outside - loved their sign. The portions were really big for most items, although some were more typically sized (like the street tacos). Everyone seemed to really enjoy their food. They were able to easily accommodate my gluten free and vegetarian requests (I do not have Celiac disease though so I don’t worry too much about cross contamination. I would call and talk to them if that’s vital for your health) We had the Pumpkin Seed Dip, Guacamole and Salsa Trio. All yummy IMO although I’m not sure all the more traditional meat-eating men in our party were huge fans of the Pumpkin Seed Dip. I didn’t eat the Queso Fundido but it got devoured. The Birria Plate, Baja Fish Tacos, Quesadillas and Burritos all got rave reviews. We also had a jicama salad with tajin that was DELISH. The margaritas also got high marks. If I lived in the area I would be back on a regular basis. SO GOOD.

Bomb huevos rancheros and the rest of the menu, too. Go where the locals eat, y'all, and there's a parking lot and excellent service. Huge recommendation! 👍

Probably my favorite place in Sonoma. Best mole I've ever had. I grew up eating all the best Mexican food from all the best grandmas in my hometown, so that really says something. Great salsas! Really really good! Their daily specials are amazing. When they have pozole I make sure to get that. Really really nice people work there too. That makes it so much better. It's not pretentious and it's absolutely beautiful inside. I love that.

Wow, what amazing food and service. All the food was made fresh, and the service was incredible. We had everything from quesadillas, shrimp Cocktail, nacos and Street tacos. Everything came out hot at the same time and I highly recommend hibiscus margaritas.

What a gem. I’m always suspicious of Mexican food spots in the US, but this one surprised me in all the right ways. Not that I thought I’d suddenly been dropped into Oaxaca, but it’s a fun, fair tribute and clearly run with pride. I had the huevos and they were fantastic. The full menu looks legit. Indoor and outdoor seating, easy parking, music playing, good coffee, comfortable vibe. It’s a 4.5 that gets the friendly shooter’s roll to a full 5. A little pricey, but everything in this part of the world is. Highly recommend.

My husband and I stopped in here on a whim on New Year’s Day because it was one of the few places open and boy did we stumble upon a gem. The food was absolutely fantastic and the staff was incredibly nice. Don’t miss this! My husband devoured a whole plate of al pastor nachos by himself and gave it rave reviews. My birria tacos were excellent. Bean dip was also very good.

We’re back again this morning. This place is INCREDIBLE! Not only is the food truly spectacular, but Hailey and Efrain (the husband and wife duo who own the place) are so kind! If I had Sonoma Eats in my home neighborhood, I’d be here every day 😍🔥

We’ve had the avocado toast, the burrito, and the huevos rancheros and every dish, every drink has been incredible. I visit my mother from Marin every week or two and I ducked in after being a huge fan of El Molino but I ventured out on the recommendation of a friend who lives in Sonoma and I’ve been blown away with the quality of the takeout meal I had for dinner and now I’m having the breakfast, which is also extraordinary. Haley and her husband Efren, the proprietors have an amazing story and deep pedigree in the growing of food and highest level restaurant experience and they more than deliver great meals!

Don't sleep on this place. Their new location which is space sharing with Barking Dog is awesome. Their food is reasonably priced, lots of indoor seating and some outdoor. Great place to go get Mexican food without the over price gouging. They have Taco Tuesdays and they offer some killer deals. Beer on tap and the food was very good. They are still working out the opening pains of being in a new place but nothing to worry about.

Lunch date with our friends this last weekend (this is their favorite Taco Tuesday spot). Food was well seasoned and served with love and care. Portion sizes were just right. The strawberry lemonade was my favorite. It was a cooling distraction from the heat. The staff takes pride in learning your name and what you’d usually order.

they serve barking dog coffee roasters here and also sell the beans in bulk. mexican style breakfast is the bomb here with chilaquiles and huevos rancheros and even a killer breakfast burrito with extra sauce and fresh jalapeño peppers if you want. yum yum. we will be back.

There is no amount of legal swearing I can give to illustrate how much I love a good mole. Like I will go to court, hand over heart, looking up at the heavens I love love love mole negro! I’ve had it in Mexico numerous times and this is right up there. Delicious, fresh, flavorful and everything just works together! Kudos to the team here for bringing those flavors to Northern California! Please come support this business and more than deserve it!

I avoid Mexican food because it’s hardly ever legit and too often leaves me wanting what I know is authentic and fresh. Well, Sonoma Eats not only met my hopes of the legit, it proved to be a gem of authenticity. I’ve visited Sonoma twice in my life, and each time has included lunch at this place where taste-buds go to heaven. Just go. Just eat. Just be happy. Oops— be beyond fulfilled and blown away. And the desert completes the experience as divine.

I had the chicken mole enchiladas, and they were fantastic! The flavor was spot one my only critique was that the mole was a little grainy but, other than that the flavor was phenomenal!

Food was good. Large servings. The atmosphere was friendly & inviting. Food took a little longer and the goat provided complimentary desserts for the wait. Definitely a quiet local place to visit.

I recently had a frustrating experience at Sonoma Eats that compelled me to share my thoughts. Despite being a regular customer, I encountered a significant issue with my order that left me feeling disrespected and undervalued. When I placed my order, the employee on duty got it wrong. Instead of acknowledging the mistake, he insisted that I needed to pay more attention to what I was ordering. He continuously repeated this, claiming my ignorance. This dismissive attitude was incredibly frustrating, especially since I frequent this establishment multiple times a month. To make matters worse, he overcharged me for my order (I ordered 6 tacos, each taco was 3$ yet came out 24$). When I tried to move on and just pay for my order, he continued to double down on his assertion that I needed to listen better next time. It felt like he was deflecting responsibility for his mistake onto me rather than owning up to it. I was so taken aback by his attitude that I was losing my temper and wanted to punch him in the face. Instead of escalating the situation, I decided to walk away and express my dissatisfaction here, knowing that the owners pay attention to customer reviews. I hope they take this feedback seriously to improve their customer service or fire the guy bc he always has a smug attitude and I've seen him treat other customers the same. The food is great but this guy needs to get canned asap.

Very disappointed in food. It was bland, nothing special to make it stand out. We sat outside which wasn't a good decision of ours as the traffic roars by, it's so close to the road. The service was good though and very friendly. There are so many great Mexican places in Sonoma, but this just isn't one of them

4/10. Very expensive for what it is. Service was good. Food was bland and not like traditional Sonoma style Mexican food. It lacks the tang, spicy, savory flavors I'm used to. I can see a group of people who would like this style of Mexican food but it wasn't for me.

I did not enjoy dry, chewy carnitas in a foil bowl with bean and rice. I asked for additional items like cilantro which were not included. I will not revisit this restaurant.

I waited 25 minutes for shrimp nachos to go. It wasn’t even very busy. I sat and watched them switch bags with a regular in his car who drove back as they had given him the wrong order. After he left, my shrimp nachos came out of the kitchen. They fed a family of 3 adults and 3 kids that came in after me 10 minutes before my order came out. The shrimp were cold as were the nachos. The worst part was they tried to deny they had given him my order. They said nachos take the longest of their menu. Really? Nachos? Won’t go back there. $32 for cold shrimp tacos and a chocolate chip cookie. ☹️
