Absolutely loved it here. Off season on a Saturday morning, it was one of the few places open but boy, did the visit pay off! Super friendly staff and gorgeous historical building, great coffee, tasty food. They sell day old pastries for a little less, still tasted amazing. I had the crepes with sweet cream cheese and cherry compote - so, so good. I would love to come back when the weather is nicer to check out the namesake courtyard!
Stayed at the bishop hotel across the street for the weekend This café offers everything we were looking for fresh pastries, and great coffee with outdoor seating for our family pets Service was quick and friendly at the counter and we ordered a selection of things to share photos attached They were all delicious large quantities and prepared with quality ingredients. Serve to us at the table outside. Self serve coffee refills Definitely a great spot for breakfast and I’m sure their lunch menu is delicious as well Check out the courtyard Café if you’re in PortTownsend, easy from anywhere in town
Headed here after basically being ignored for breakfast over at the horribly understaffed Hudson Point Café. This place was a Godsend: delicious blueberry scone and excellent drip-brewed dark roast coffee. Great location, plenty of seating, prompt and friendly service. Outdoor seating, plenty of windows.
I’m picky about my cinnamon rolls and just got back from long term traveling the world and can confirm these are simply my favorite ones in the whole world. So much cinnamon - it doesn’t get any better than this. Thanks for making them guys!
This place makes great sandwiches. The picture attached is one half of a club I shared with my wife and it was excellent. Order as you go in and they bring it to your table. All of the staff were welcoming and professional. I do recommend the Courtyard Cafe for lunch when you are in Port Townsend.
It was the only place we could find open for breakfast and I am so glad it was, because otherwise we would've missed this hidden jewel. The atmosphere is so calm and homey. The service was great. Most importantly the food was delicious and good portions (not too little not humongous). The crepes I had here where the best I've ever had. 100% recommend and would stop by if I'm ever around the area again.
I can't believe I haven't given them a review yet! Such a great place both for the awesome food and awesome owners. This is truly a unique place for us locally who are known by name. Family friendly.
Great lunch of turkey sandwiches and soup. Smoked salmon chowder by itself was worth the stop. Service was topnotch.

I love this place. Five stars, BUT **important to note/only drawback: the bathroom is up a full flight of somewhat narrow, steep stairs. If accessibility is a concern, this would be your problem here. Everything else is downstairs with ramp access from the street. Favorite place in Port Townsend to go sit at a table. It's a small family business, order at the counter place with a great menu of breakfast and lunch things plus bakery things. The seating outdoors is very classic and pretty with roses and the indoor space is very warm and relaxed with family photos all over the walls. You can work on a laptop here. You can also have a very nice lunch with a six person group. Great place to hang out with a kid, too--some of the tables are also checkerboards with checkers on the table to play with. They have drip coffee from a local roaster and they encourage you to refill your mug to your heart's content. The people are nice. And the cookie was really good.
It’s been a while since we made the 1+ hour trip over to PT, but we were delighted to see The Courtyard open as we love their pastries. We stopped in an hour before close and stocked up on delicious muffins, croissants, scones and a cinnamon roll. Watching my boys argue over who gets the cinnamon roll the next morning was hilarious as they are delicious. The muffins are huge and perfect with a warm cup of coffee. The service is always lovely and welcoming.

Such a yummy little spot for sandwiches and the cinnamon roll was insanely delicious. And the girls working were wonderful! Had a great time
Cute cafe in a house! They have food, baked goods, and coffee. My boyfriend and I only got coffee to go, but we had great service and took a lemon bar to go as well (it was delicious). They have day old treats that are sold a little cheaper, but the baked goods looked yummy. It's kinda smokey inside assuming from the kitchen, so we walked out smelling heavily of food, but still don't let that stop you from coming! Will definitely be coming back for some actual breakfast next time we are in town.
The homemade Pull-A-Part cinnamon roll was delicious and a nice size if you don't want to get a huge cinnamon roll. Try their strong tasting local coffee. We both had the local favorite with their homemade wheat bread! Delicious 😋
Lovely place with an extensive menu of salads, soups and hot and cold sandwiches. Although they do not take note in the table, the staff is very nice and you can enjoy live music. The Best are the grave cakes and pastry
Delish! Stopped in for a bite walking around town had some coffee, cider and giant cinnamon rolls.
The pastries and desserts are great; I was told they are done on site. They argue the sandwiches are their specialty but I the veggie and bbq brisket were just ok. A good place to be off the radar

Difficult to review …. they absolutely have the vibe of a great coffee and bakery and restaurant…but having an Italian coffee machine when I walk in I expect great coffee . I ordered a black coffee and was told to use the thermos of old coffee behind me ….I did and coffee was old and luke warm . Yuck . All coffee people want fresh coffee . Increase the coffee experience please .
8/6/23 While visiting Port Townsend last time, we ran across this cute little café, The Courtyard Café. We had already had lunch and decided to try it on our next visit, which was yesterday, 8/5/23. This cute little café was a bit dated, but that was part of the charm and oh-so-popular and oh-so-very hard to maneuver around the front door. About five feet in is where you place your order, so you are dodging people walking up and down the stairs (which is right at the door and counter), the waitstaff walking back into the kitchen area or behind the counter, then you are dodging people ordering or standing in line to place orders, and then people leaving. Mind you, this is a minimal space; it is all as you walk in the front door. We started to sit outside; plenty of cute little tables and chairs around the restaurant, but every table we went to sit at had lots of bird poo all over the table and chairs, nothing had been cleaned for a while, as a lot of it was dried on. We found our way back inside and grabbed a table; unfortunately, we had to sit close to two loud people, so talking between us was almost nonexistent. Sadly, I know more about their personal life (it should have been a private conversation) than my own, LOL. About our lunch... I had a Caprese sandwich on wheat bread, and hubby had a Twisted Crisco sandwich on wheat bread; he also purchased a bag of chips. My Caprese would have been stupendous had they added a balsamic drizzle and not just dipped the cheese in balsamic vinegar, which did nothing. That was my letdown; I love Caprese sandwiches. I have never had one that didn't ALWAYS come with the balsamic drizzle. The pesto sauce on the sandwich was yummy, the mozzarella was wonderfully thick pieces, and the tomatoes were perfectly ripe. It would have been a complete win-win had they added the balsamic drizzle, so anyone ordering this sandwich, make sure to ask for a side of balsamic 😉 My hubby liked his Twisted Crisco sandwich but was slightly disappointed in the raspberry chipotle dipping sauce. It tasted good, but he hoped it would have had more chipotle spice; overall, he felt it was a hint of chipotle and lots of raspberry. Overall, not including a tip, it was over $31.00 for two sandwiches with no side and a paid bag of chips; we drank water like we usually do. I want to return at some point and try something else. They had some great-looking pastries. Danishes, cinnamon rolls, and various pies; although they offer more, they had sold out of most of them. Aside from their lunch menu, which offers plenty of items to choose from, they also have a decent breakfast menu. Also, they offer shakes, espressos, drip coffee, and various other drinks, including some beers, wines, and ciders. Unfortunately, I cannot give my opinion about the restroom, nor did I even see one; perhaps that is what was upstairs, which would not be handicap friendly if that's the case! The Courtyard Cafes location is at 230 Quincy Street, Port Townsend, Washington. They're behind the Phoneix Rising gift shop, which happens to be on the corner of Quincy and Water Street. Thank you for supporting family own businesses such as The Courtyard Cafe. and please remember, Be kind to ALL living things. 🐾🌲

As one of my hero’s once said: with great power comes great responsibility. I think that’s applies to sandwiches too. Be prepared to spend $50 for 2 alright sandwiches and 1 fountain drink to share. Those are almost Disneyland prices. Don’t expect to use the restroom if you can’t use stairs to ascend to the throne. 3 stars because I truly believe the employees are trying their best, despite poor workflow design, strange menu rules, and coffee training. Also I did get charged $2 more for my sandwich than what was written on the board, but that’s probably more due to the fact that the Reuben here has raised $8 in price over the last 9 months (according to other menu photos here). You could make it a titch cheaper if you didn’t make it Big Mac style and eased off the kraut.
Both quiches we ordered were cold, while the other half of our party got warm food. Bathroom is disgusting, covered in cobwebs, grime, and a few flies… don’t look at the windowsill. Vanilla latte was good.

Sketchy pricing, poor business practices and very bad customer service. Would leave 0 stars if I can. Biscuits and gravy is $14.99 on the menu, I was charged $20.59...After asking, the lady tells me $14.99 is cash only price(nowhere on the menu does it say this) and that togo orders cost more. $20 for biscuits and gravy is wild. Would never come here again. Clearly taking advantage of the "tourism"... Update: the biscuits and gravy were mediocre, the gravy taste like canned gravy with almost no flavor and the biscuits were okay at best. Maybe management or the owner would like to reach out and say something because 1) to not tell people the menu is cash only and 2) to charge an unknown amount MORE for "to go" orders is disgusting and why small businesses fail...The lady did not even bother to tell me what the non cash price was OR what the Togo order price is... Sketchy guys real sketchy. If you look at the reviews, you will see others complaining about their sketchy pricing and being overcharged too. Maybe you have to say the special "local word" in order to not be plundered for your bounty... Good luck 😬

Overpriced. Biscuits and gravy is real disappointing-almost inedible. School lunch style, flavorless white gravy, served barely warm. Ordered a warm cinnamon roll with icing. Came cold with no icing. Espresso was burnt. Service was nice enough.
