Good food. Serves excellent south Indian cuisine. This place is moderately crowded during weekdays and heavily crowded during weekends..
Tried the food on too good to go left over app and the food was great. Anmol the manager gave me excellent service with a naan. Thank you!
I was hungry and so I got a thali today. Naan was tender, fresh. Came with Dal and Saag which were tasty; vegan chicken (soy) was not great. To make it healthier they could add a salad or optionally swap it for the mini samosa. At little past lunchtime it was empty and didn’t have a great vibe.
Super fast for lunch (2-3 mins after order) and quite delicious butter paneer plate! Also all meat is halal except for the chicken in the kids menu.
I had a chicken tikka masala burrito and it was one of the best burritos I ever had. The manager Anmol was super friendly and he was very hands on with helping staff in the kitchen during the lunch rush. Overall the restaurant was very welcoming with a good vibe I would 100% come back again
Loved my experience at Curry Up Now. The service was super fast, and Ellie, our server, was so sweet and welcoming. Definitely recommend this spot if you’re looking for great food and quick service!
I got the Thali (Lamb Rogan Josh, Paneer Tikki Masala) and it was great. The portions were generous, the service was friendly and fast and it's located near downtown Palo Alto, but in an area where it's easy to find parking. Definitely worth the money since I get to enjoy a nice meal out and still have leftovers for the next day. Highly recommend.
I am so happy that I stumbled upon this restaurant while walking around! The food is absolutely delicious and just the right amount of spiciness. Also, when I asked for a cup of chai, it was complimentary and came with two Parle G cookies that took me straight back to my hometown Bombay. I highly recommend stopping here if you've never had Indian Street food. I wish I could take this restaurant back to Florida with me. Plenty of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options!
Great service with very courteous employees. I have tried a few different options here, but their vada pav is good. I also tried pani puri but but you can give it a pass. The puris are crisp and puffy but dont taste authentic. They should serve them with either ragda or potato masala instead of chickpeas. I would come back to try other dishes.
Lots of unique Indian fusion dishes. Very quick service. Great spot for a quick meal or for trying out various dishes with a group. The place has a good amount of seating for groups of 3-6. That said, the portion sizes are a bit small for the price. Each time I've come here, I've left just wanting a bit more food. The bowls are a bit more filling (the portions are better), but everything else is quite small.
A fun place for Indian snacks and lunchables. Great for families and casual groups. The meat is halal. Wish they had more seating though. Portion sizes are decent. Little pricey. Had the bhelpuri which was like papdi chaat. Teekha (spicy) and quite true to the original flavour. Also had the veggie loaded sweet potato fries which had paneer gravy on top. While the chips themselves were good, I wasn’t a big fan of the paneer gravy. Very strong taste of coriander seeds. The mango lassi was delicious. The star of the menu was their paav bhaaji- the buns were buttered and toasted. The bhaaji was on spot. Perfectly flavoured. Wish they had given onions and lemon on the side and more of it. Service was quick. Will definitely go back to try the other items on their menu.
Courteous service. A large menu with creative dishes and fun names for them, however taste and quality are rather mediocre. Stunning back wall mural. Delivers North Indian cuisine experience.
The place was good, samosa chat is exotic to taste buds. Food tastes great, best part is order a bowl and try 4 items for price of a single entree, “bowl”. I gave it a shot with panner tikka masala bowl comes with dal makhani, rice, paneer tikka masala and crisps. 2 things I didn’t like about is we placed an order for 2 bowls, 1-chicken tikka and 1-paneer tikka bowl. However, we received both bowls with paneer, asked the waitress the same. Dodged it with an apology. Also I got a mango lassi for 4$, it’s stale. Non edible. Since I didn’t consume at store and got it home, I couldn’t return. Please please please do check the items if they’re edible before serving!!!
Place is nice and staff was friendly but the food was okay. I like the ambience they used and were creative with the glass servewares but food didn't tasted very good. The potion size with respect to cost seems to be small. They do serve free chai with every order, they served it with Parle G cookies which we loved it thoroughly ❤️
Ordered papdi chaat, chole bhature, and beverage. The service was good but the food, nope. It was sooo damn spicy. Even with the curd, could barely eat (mind you, we are desi). The whole experience became bad because the whole time we were just combating the spice in both the items. Also, bhature was not crispy.
Subject: Feedback on Recent Visit to Palo Alto Location Dear Customer Service, I recently visited your Palo Alto branch and ordered the lamb thali. While the food itself tasted fine, I wanted to share some concerns about the experience: Portion Size: I chose to dine in but requested that the food be packed to go, as I wasn’t sure I would finish it. However, the portion I received was noticeably smaller (by more than 50%) than what others dining in were served, yet I was charged the same amount. Possible Incorrect Dish: What I first received was shredded meat that I assumed was lamb. Later, when I was asked what I would like extra of (since naan was missing), I requested lamb and was given large pieces that were completely different from what was in my thali. This made me concerned that my thali may not have been lamb at all, but possibly pork. While I appreciated the taste, the overall experience felt disorganized and lacking in integrity. I wanted to bring this to your attention so that future guests do not encounter similar issues.
planned on bringing my family and office team here, but I’m glad I did a trial run first via Too Good To Go. Despite the app advertising a "food box," I was shocked to be handed a bland, "Indian-style" chicken burrito. When I asked for clarification, the server bluntly told me, "That’s what the boss asked us to give." If I wanted a burrito, I’d go to a Mexican food truck. To market yourself as an authentic Indian establishment and then serve tasteless fusion leftovers is a total dealbreaker. This place is right by my office and home, but after this experience, they’ve lost my business for both team lunches and family dinners. Authenticity matters, and this isn't it.
Food was mediocre at the best. Order experice was bad. Pretty disappointed, tried to order a combo, saw it online but in store they said j cannot order it . As soon I placed it right after paying wanted to change the order they said they cannot cancel the order as they needed a code from a manager and he won't be there till next day. Don't understand this terrible order management Recommend going to another Indian place-not this
Honestly, I would not recommend going by the online reviews. My experience today was quite disappointing. The food seemed pre-prepared and simply reheated before serving. The portion sizes did not justify the prices, and overall, the dining experience was below average. I ordered the Kathi Roll, which appeared to be filled with a mix of three different curries that were not even properly warmed. The Thali included Kadai Paneer and Paneer Butter Masala, both of which were average in taste. The dal and rice were also below average, served with a mini samosa, some fryums, and a small naan cut into four pieces. As for the Chole Bhature, I would rather not waste time describing it. To be honest, the food is not worth trying.
There is a great difference between loving being a Chef and loving owning a business Vs running a business just for the survival. I ordered a vegetarian thali and guess what, the paneer tikka, saag paneer, the naan etc; all were not prepared and cooked in the restaurant. All the items were served from ready-to-eat food packets which are loaded with preservatives. Initially, I had a doubt. But as I eat more, I was sure. Being native Indian, I know the difference between freshly prepared food and preserved food. Kindly don’t do that, please. Love your business. Love what you do to serve a better food. Thanks
Used to be great, but the last time I ordered the Punjabi by nature bowl the portion size was barely adequate and there was hardly any saag paneer, in fact there was only two pieces of cheese! I'm going to have to find somewhere else to eat which has better value. Edit: I've started ordering from Darbar a few blocks away- you get more food for the same price with better customer service
