California Pizza Kitchen in Tarzana is praised for its consistently great service, with staff like Kyle and Lee being frequently mentioned for their exceptional service. The Shrimp Scampi Pizza and Pea and Barley Soup are popular. Some find the pizza pricey for the portion size.

The best pizza I ever had. From start to the end, everything is a nice experience. The service is fast. The atmosphere is high class, yet comfortable. The mgt was responsive. I admire this place. Their Veteran's day selection was superior to all others. I am grateful for that. Thanks!
Yes! Finally found a cpk location in the Valley that is worthy of the brand as i remember it growing up. The only issue might be the absent-minded service of what appeared to be the head manager, yet that was understandable as the location was busier than the previous ones i visited. My server was super professional (table 280) and was courteous. The quality if the food was just as i remember it but better because it was enjoyable in the present moment instead of some distant memory. Thank you so much for making it a quiet, relaxing, and enjoyable evening for me. I hope cpk pays attention to how this location does it. maybe i'm an outlier in my tastes, yet this is my new fav location (it used to be Northridge or Topanga).
This place is awesome, the food is amazing and the service is super nice. Vanessa is a pickup/online orders manager, she is the one who makes this place to shine. She took care about my order to be ready before the time, offered an outstanding service and was very friendly. Because of her attention and care I prefer specifically this location of CPK. Thank you Vanessa!!!
Very nice California pizza kitchen. Conveniently located in an easy easy to reach area. This is a beautiful restaurant inside. I ordered two Cobb salads and they were ready in no time. This was a pick up order. It’s a pizza place but the Cobb salad here is amazing.
My niece and I went. The food was great. We shared a Italian chopped salad and a margarita pizza. And we had wine. The server was very good. So nice, and very attentive. Plenty of parking.
Love it here! We came in as a party of 14 the night of a birthday and they sat us immediately and sent us 2 waiters. Clean and the food was amazing and affordable! The manager is also a very sweet lady, and is very kind to the students in the area since there is a school near bye. Food+1 Service+1 Clean+1 Friendly+1 Cool manager +1 P.S. get the chocolate brownie with vanilla ice-cream on top. super cheap for the size and savory taste!
The food was delicious and the service was great too. I've been coming to this restaurant for years and they have never disappointed. The waiters are all extremely kind and it is just an overall great and positive atmosphere. Highly recommend!
We had a great waitress named Mari. She was super attentive and answered questions about the menu. She didn't mind that we lingered a while after we ate. She even continued to refill our beverages. The food is good. They have a wide variety. I like that you can get half orders. Full orders are good for sharing. It's also easy to find and they have good parking.
Nice place. Great service. Quiet and clean. Had a "7" BBQ chicken pizza post my workout at the gym down the street. It was freshly prepared and tasted delicious. I love the freshly grated parmesan cheese from a soft block,it was so fresh and. It wasn't the powdered kind you usually get with pizzas.
We eat here at least once a week. Service is always great and restaurant is socially distanced and in line with requirements. Bryan is an exceptional manager and has a great staff. Kudos in his selection of qualified staff to attend to the customers.
Loved our experience ❤️. The best Chicken Tequila Fettuccine I had in a while. Our service was excellent 👌.
What an awesome experience. Everything was awesome. I wasn't too sure about the sauce on the pizza that i ordered as it had cilantro and I do not like cilantro. The waiter said that if I did not like it, that they would make me another pizza. Ended up that I loved the Carne Asada pizza. Can't wait to go back.
Just thought I'd give a shout out to the California Pizza Kitchen in Tarzana, California. Stopped in and ordered lunch today at the bar area as it was only me. Once again, great service was extended to me almost immediately after I sat down. Natali took my order and made a suggestion that made much more sense than what I was attempting to order. I appreciated her help and really enjoyed the quality of the food, as always. Once again, I appreciate this quality of service and care that CPK extends to its customers. Well done CPK team. You ROCK! ✌️😎
Kind employees, clean restaurant, right prices. Taste cocktails
California Pizza Kitchen never disappoints! The menu has something for everyone—from their creative pizzas to fresh salads and pastas, everything is always flavorful and well-prepared
They have an excellent menu They even have drinks I got the Lunch special. A Salad with peanut sauce and tomato soup. My sister got a small pizza and a salad. The drinks were good. Although the waitress messed up the checks One was for alcohol drinks only The second check was supposed to have food on it We ended up paying for our own food Our friend was supposed to pay for our lunch
The service was really fast and the server was super nice and accommodating. CPK food is delicious.
Met a friend knowing we had a lot to catch up on and our waiter Kyle was polite and gave us time and space. The lunch menu was a bargain offering 3 options at 9.99. I ordered the vegan delicious barley pea soup and the Asian salad without the chicken. Friend chose the tortilla soup and the half turkey and brie sandwich on a soft large roll. Pizza and a second item was also offered. All the food was delicious and a true bargain.Kyle always smiled and never interrupted us when deep in conversation. Loved his wink and thumb up at every interaction. Also handsome! 😉
This was a great time at CPK. We did a party for an 8-year-old boy where all the children got to make their own pizza's and have cake it was really fun and a great idea for a birthday party.
Kids love going here. I do miss their dodger win free pizza deal, but all good. Food still great and reasonably priced.
I went here for lunch with my fiancee. We noticed immediately that they seemed to be short staffed for the time; We only saw two servers despite the restaurant being full. Normally that comprises prompt service, but our waiter was on top of things and seemed great at juggling multiple tables at once. The food was brought out quickly and was delicious. We never had a chance to see the bottom of our glasses. Our first time here for lunch, but with a great experience like this we'll be back!
This is a classic California Cafe with all the greatest hits that you'd expect. Stone hearth oven pizza, huge salads and LA style pastas. We live just up the street, so this place is in regular rotation for us. We know several of the servers by name, they know what our regular orders are, it's that kind of place. I'm glad this place has continued to modernize and update, and that they're still around.
Great experience 🙌🏽 Food was Great and our server was Fantastic 👌🏽 Definitely recommend 💯
Always the best place for a quick bite.
Very cool atmosphere and open-air dining room surrounded by beautiful glass windows. Food's fabulous as always, especially the bread. Very reasonably priced lunch specials. Highly recommended on all fronts!
We went on Valentines Day, and their service and food was amazing! Our server Tania is a wonderful human being! She was so attentive and her hospitality skills are just what we need more of in this world. I’m so glad we decided to have dinner there, since my husband and I normally avoid eating out on busy days like Valentines Day. Thank you to the manager as well for being kind. We order takeout from this location at least once a month, and they have never messed up an order. I’m happy with this CPK location and their staff! Keep up the great work! 😌
Cpk is one of my favorite restaurants to go to. The food is amazing and reasonably priced. They are very consistent with their food and never let me down, not to mention the staff is very nice and make you feel welcome. Not to mention their store bought frozen pizzas are great also. Well deserved 5/5!
Great service and food. Ordered late the night of the long world series game. Was greeted by several smiles, food was hot and delicious.
Lunch was great. we really enjoyed the service (fast!!) and the food. price is great as well.
Service was awesome, these guys went above and beyond. Pizza was great too!
listen, we came here for my birthday and I’m a student and I always love to walk to this place. This place is held many memories for me and a man who has made this place really memorable for me was named Lee. Leah is an amazing worker and he has definitely made my birthday really memorable. He is really sweet to my friends. He make sure they feel included and he’s really accepting. I really would appreciate him.
I have been ordering and foi g ro this location since, well forever in LA terms. I lived in Tarzana for 23 years and it has been a staple since than. It's not the best food in the Valley, but it is consistent and just tastes really good...
Plenty of parking and easy access. Fantastic Pea and Barley Soup. The bowl is a generous portion. The Cheese Pizza is a classic masterpiece! Add a classic Caesar Salad it’s a perfect match. The Service was very very good!
This CPK is great - Kyle is the best server and we always request him!! The manager Alex is excellent. I can’t recommend it more. I never miss a Sunday evening at this spot!!
My wife and I have been visiting regularly for years. The staff is amazing, like Kyle who remembers or names, and always has an awesome attitude, and his service is the best, super knowledgeable about the menu items, and great personality, always makes the food taste that much better!
There's a reason we drive past our local CPK to go to the one in Tarzana--and it's because of their consistently great service! Today was especially amazing because we hosted our son's birthday party there and yes, they have a birthday party deal! The initial setup was handled by Andy, who was great about answering all my questions, giving further insight, and really caring about our event. So, naturally, I was nervous when I heard she would be transferring locations before the party. But she reassured me that all the information would be passed on to Magean. Just as she promised, everything was arranged and set up. Amanda even showed up before the party started at 9 a.m. to make sure everything was ready, and to support the manager eho hadn't experienced the birthday party before. We had the restaurant to ourselves until they opened at 11 a.m., and even after that, we were allowed to stay as long as we needed and just to consolidate our group. Each kid got to make their own pizza, which was entertaining to watch! While the pizzas baked, we all got a tour of the kitchen and the fridge/freezer. The kids loved how cold it was inside and were screaming while inside the freezer! Shortly after, the pizzas were ready to eat. The staff was super nice and didn't mind the rambunctious, excited kids. Afterward, we sang "Happy Birthday," ate cake, and the party was a success. Everyone had a great time. Party Highlights: $15 per child Only charged for kids who show up on the day You can bring your own decorations No cake cutting fee Easy parking since the restaurant isn't open yet No hard end time A server is provided Free embroidered chef jacket Stress-free and flexibility beyond belief!!
I came to CPK to get out of the heat to eat a light salad, some sourdough bread, and a refreshing drink. Today, it was a 1/2 Barbequed Chicken Chopped Salad, sourdough pieces with balsamic vinegar and olive oil, and a strawberry lime cooler. The drink has fresh strawberries, sprite soda, and lime slices. It was perfectly flavored and refreshing. The salad is just the right portion for one, and it is quite filling. The salad consists of chopped salad, cilantro, jicama pieces, corn, black beans, tomatoes, and fried tortilla strips on top. You can choose grilled chicken as a topping or avocado slices for an additional cost. Definitely come to eat here. The food is excellent tasting and freshly made as you wait. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and local crowd to feel right at home.
The menu is extensive, lots of items to choose from and almost all of their dishes are great for sharing. My mom and I like to come here because we can split a pizza and salad or pasta, so we don't have to face the difficult task of choosing just one item off of their menu, in which everything looks delicious! The service has always been A+ every time I've visited this location - the servers treat the guests like friends/ family and take the time to talk to us even when the place is super busy, which it has been pretty much every time I've been here. I know what it's like to work in a busy restaurant where there doesn't seem to be a second to spare, and this is no easy task, so kudos to those that work here and always manage to find the time to do so! The only reason I didn't give this location 5 stars was that it feels nearly impossible to have a conversation at your table! The insanely busy atmosphere on EVERY night of the week definitely factors into the reason for this frustrating situation, but I understand that's not the restaurant's fault, in fact it's something they should be proud of! However, the blasting music is, in my opinion, totally unnecessary, when it's already hard enough to hear your dinner companion(s), and because it's a family restaurant, so I don't exactly see the point. The last time I visited this CPK, it was so bad, it definitely affected my desire to visit again in the future and my overall opinion of the restaurant in a negative way. I left the place with a headache from attempting to have a conversation with my mom during our meal, straining both to hear what she was saying and to say anything over the noise in return. I will most likely give this CPK another try in the future for lunch or during slower business, but if it were my choice, I'd probably choose a different location or a different restaurant altogether if it was as busy as it has been the last few times I've visited.
We had dinner with my 85 year old father. He loves the BBQ chicken pizza while my husband loves the chicken Milanese, something for everyone. I got the chicken salad and draft beer. Service was good, we took a table for 3 hours and they were attentive. Butter cake for dessert was, as the server said, a slice of heaven.
The chicken was small & overcooked but their Mac n cheese was great … and the Strawberry drink was amazing. But most importantly - the service was fantastic …
Came here for lunch and had the lunch duo. Ordered the guacamole and chips for an appetizer and it had more corn than avocado. Never had guacamole with corn before. We had to wait a bit for service but our server Adrian came to the rescue. I got the sausage and mushroom with cauliflower crust and the Thai salad. The food was excellent. Outdoor tables were weathered. I hope they replace them.
Although it was busy and crowded we had wonderful, friendly service. Parking attendant found us a space, one of the hosts opened the front doors for us, they accommodated our seating request. The waiter was attentive and helpful and the food and drinks came faster than expected. We enjoyed all of our order except one bar drink, and they deleted it from the bill. Portions were plentiful and we were provided containers and bags to take home. They have redecorated somewhat since we were last there and it has a fresh look. Menu has some changes as well. It is lively and a little loud at dinner time, but the atmosphere is friendly.
This CPK boasts good service. Nice clean interior. Good beer and wine selection. Food quality is consistently good. There's always something on the menu for everyone in my party. Takes reservations - and is a convenient choice for a late dinner.
Food is good, though the prices are very high for being a casual eatery. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. The staff are wearing masks and gloves. The hand sanitizer was empty though. Our waiter was nice and attentive.
The service was amazing and everyone was so kind and helpful. Always positive and smiling. In my opinion the food is great when you have it fresh on the spot, not as good when taken to go. Kind of pricy too, but the service really made me happy.
I ordered from California Pizza Kitchen on a Tuesday night around 6 p.m. the ordering process was really easy, and I was pleasantly surprised that just based on my phone number my previous order was saved and all I had to do was tell the computer to reorder the same thing. When I walked in it was quite busy oh, and I had to wait outside because there were too many people inside. However once I got in they were able to help me right away and my order was ready for me to take. The tostada pizza was great, but I did ask for extra Ranch and I didn't really get any extra. Also as you can see from the photo seems like there was more crust and less toppings on my pizza all around.
The classic bbq chicken pizza is very good. However, since it debuted and even today, there's better pizza dough. Service was perfect and the atmosphere, slightly dark with plenty of televisions to keep you entertained, if necessary, at this location is great. Plus they have their own parking lot with plenty of wide stalls. There is no reason to not visit this location!.
We had a delicious meal. They seemed to be understaffed, but the manager (Vlad) was helping everywhere. He was super attentive and really wanted us to have a good experience. We don’t see that much these days so it was very refreshing. The tables are looking a little tired…they may want to invest in refinishing them.
6 years I've been passing this location and I finally went in. Really hard to get parking just because the lot is little and tight. Ultimately the food was good but gotta say it's the service where they shine
So my waiter was great, the wait was not bad, my grandsons food was fabulous. He ordered a specialty Burger and wedge fries and enjoyed it. Unfortunately my food was terrible, I ordered the chicken piccata which was overly salted and the sauce was dry on the noodles like there was no sauce. I think the quality overall has changed but the prices have increased.
Hear that? Do you feel the ground shaking? That's hundreds of hoves pounding the forest floor responding to Tarzan's call. Tarzana was the location for the jungle found in the Tarzan movie series (1932-1948) starring the Olympican, Johnny Weissmuller. His famous recorded call was used by every actor playing Tarzan, except, perhaps, Carol Burnett, whose comedic interpretation brought Tarzan to her CBS comedy program. Edgar Rice Burroughs (1875-1950), Tarzan creator, lived nearby in Encino California. He was laid to rest in his creation, Tarzana. Tarzana's post office has a collection of Burroughs' memorabilia on display. The CALIFORNIA PIZZA KITCHEN at Tarzana (CPK), part of the national chain, offers a unique interpretation of international dishes. CPK offers almost two dozen "international" pizzas. Their various toppings include barbecued chicken, Thai chicken, pepperoni, roasted artichoke, and wild mushroom. All are built on thin wheat or califlower crust. This very busy eatery provides excellent, attentive service. Our server, Edgar, is knowledgeable and friendly. Sliced French bread is accompanied with an oil and balsamic vinegar dip. Our meals at CPK came out quickly. Instead of pizza, which we have had several times, I ordered the (vegan) Bolognese Spaghetti sans the cheese. The pasta was served Al dente, with a fresh tomato garlic sauce. My partner's Chicken Milanese, is topped with arugula, house made checca sauce, finished with olive oil, and shaved Parmesan cheese. Servings are large. My partner also ordered a slice of key lime pie on a graham cracker crust, topped with whipped cream. (Several desserts are available.) On another visit to CPK, I ordered an off menu vegan "Guacamole Pizza." Two menu items are required. First order a small, baked, wheat pizza crust. The kitchen will divide it into four wedges. Also, add an order of spicy, white corn guacamole. Spread about half of the chilled, jalapeno, white corn guacamole onto the warm pizza crust. And enjoy. Take home the extra guacamole and chips. STUFF: This is a good, busy eatery. Everything is ADA compliant. Parking is free in their lot. The restrooms are near the front, just past the bar.
Visited this location many time Jennifer the manager was very nice and friendly food was ok, the place is very loud
Drinks and food are good with good portions. Usually service is good as well. Today it was busy and service was slow.
I go here a lot, at least once a month. I usually get their Fettuccine pasta with white sauce, garlic parmesan or the chicken tequila, Ceasar salad, Artichoke dip and chips, & butter cake.
So I ordered takeout tonight , and I usually order from this place all the time and never have an issue. When I dine in here the staff is always friendly there’s never really a long wait and the service is good, but particularly for my order tonight for takeout It was not good. I ordered the sesame chicken dumplings, which are always good never have an issue with those a Caesar salad and the Barbecue chicken mac & cheese and there was nothing mac & cheese about this dish. It was very dry there was NO cheese and my noodles were really hard and to add to it I barely had any chicken in my dish . I’ve seen this dish on the menu before and really wanted to try it, but have been hesitant too, and this really proved why I was. I was so disappointed when I got home and revealed what was in the dish . Sad to say I will not be ordering that dish again . There is nothing more dissatisfying than getting home from a long day sitting down to eat, and the dish is a disappointment.
Parking underground and it gets validated, but you will still have the pay. Food is always great here and we love the plaza around it. Our service is hit or miss
Not as good as it used to be. They no longer have the tacos on the menu. The service was not that good although the place wasn't packed. Generally pretty noisy. I'd say it's a solid three star place to eat.
3/5 because for the price of the food was it pretty bland and simple. We ordered some drinks and they were awesome about accommodating us but the pizza we ordered (we got the California Club) looked like a sad little barely baked dough that someone dropped a salad on. Not appetizing and not really worth the $20 Side note: the $5 Take-and-Bake deal is a steal and totally worth it if you’re already there for a meal. Good for 2 days in the fridge before you have to bake it and comes with all the instructions on the box.
The pizzas are great, and so are some of the other dishes, but they don't seem to quality check on the salads. The lettuce is usually half going bad, with some leaves even showing dark brown/black edges, and the leaves don't seem washed. For such an expensive salad, I expect a well washed, fresh set of lettuce leaves. Also, I ordered their red velvet cake. It was good, but it looked like the individual slice had been in the fridge longer than it should. It did not feel fresh.
Went for “Happy Hour “ , it’s adult beverages only, there’s no food happening. Had a couple of the lunch “duo’s” , nothing spectacular, 1/2 sandwich w/ salad and 7” Hawaiian pizza w/ salad. Mediocre at best in my opinion. I really just am not a fan of CPK , especially for pizza, so many better pizza options abound. Cocktails were very weak … they do allow doggies on the patio which is nice. The service was good and accommodating.
Me and my wife used to love this place, but during the pandemic their staff changed and it all want down. We waited for 10 min just to get silverware they forgot while the food was getting cold. I really hope they will figure up how to level up their game. I will try this place one more time in a few month, and if they fix their service level I will post another review.
When you order your food ask for specials
Food was good, service was not the best
I went during covid so they only had outside seating but no hostess to greet us so we had to figure out where to sit on our own. Then i ordered lettuce cups and a southwestern salad and my dad ordered the spaghetti bolognese. The food came out with 5 spoons but not a single fork and knife. I had to go chasing the waiters down for the cutlery and then the food was ok except for the salad which came out ice cold because it’s probably frozen and not fresh and that was disappointing.
Its ok. Pretty pricey. I got chicken caesar salad. Ordered an extra caesar sauce which still was not enough - the sauce is more of a cream than a liquid so it doesn't cover all the ingredients. Chicken was pretty good. There was nothing special about that salad - tastes like the one from Vons for $5 Service - takes forever . Have been waiting for my salad for 15 minutes. Bottom line - should ve been better for the price they charge
I've been a big fan of CPK and have eaten at several locations around the LA county area, and was very disappointed with my last vist to this Tarzana/Encino location. I came on a Wednesday with my 2 friends around 3:30-3:40, just in time to order the lunch duos. It took a us a while to get seated despite half of the tables being full. When we are seated, it takes our server about 10 minutes to come and take our order. We wait for a cool minute for our appetizer to come out, and a bit longer for our food. When it arrives, there are a lot of things wrong. My order came out okay, but the salad was a little dry on the dressing, and so was my friend's who got the same salad as me. That same friend got a pasta that also looked lacking in pasta sauce, and my other friend's whole order came out wrong. She ordered a tomato basil soup and a BBQ chicken salad and got handed a BBQ chicken pizza and BBQ chicken salad. We immediately sent back the order and asked for it to be corrected and asked for butter for our bread that we received late, extra salad dressing and pasta sauce. The GM came and brought the fixed order and sides. We wanted to order drinks too, and he had our server come and take our order again, and she came after another 5-10 minutes. We get our drinks, one espresso martini and 2 Cadillac margs and those come out fine, so worries there. We leave a bit quickly cuz we were under a time crunch, so we ask for the check and containers. The bill had the order we didnt order, so we had to ask to get that taken off as we didnt accept it. When we pay, and are leaving, all eyes are on us watching us leave, as were the only colored people in the restaurant. Felt so awkward and degrading.
I feel bad writing this review but there’s only so many times i can put up with the same mistake. (This doesn’t apply to sitting in store as every experience we’ve had when we came in was great) but We order delivery from this restaurant a lot. This is at least the 4th time that the whole order comes great except for one thing. They ALWAYS forget the soup. I always give it another shot because it’s my favorite soup but I’m always disappointed. Most of the managers are always very apologetic and try to make up for it and i end up having to place another order and repay the delivery fee again. Todays manager was my worst experience (whoever it was at closing); he didn’t even offer a solution. When i told him what other managers had offered me and said i can reorder it, he said ok do that and I’ll comp your soup (im usually offered to comp the whole meal because this is a recurring issue). I went to order it (before the store closes) and the apps told me that the store was closed. The manager said there’s nothing he can offer. So now i paid for a soup i didn’t get, i offered myself a solution that didn’t happen, and yet again I’m disappointed by this restaurant. If you like CPK, either go in to the store or don’t order at all. Whoever’s on the delivery staff clearly doesn’t care about customer satisfaction.
The food is delicious, especially the pasta. But the service is disgusting! visited this establishment several times and constantly rudeness on the part of the waiters, and a very large inattention. Plates and garbage from the table are not removed until you ask about it several times, they constantly forget to bring something. The last time we were there was to celebrate my daughter's birthday, she was 5 years old and we were promised a small dessert as a gift, but we were deceived and my daughter was very upset. SERVICE IS HORRIBLE!!! You need good attentive waiters! and we had not finished eating yet, we thought to order something else, but suddenly they brought us a bill, but we did not ask for this bill. as if we were kicked out of there! my whole family had a bad experience because of your waiters! 2 adults and 2 children. 120$ :(
We came here on Sunday evening for dinner. There was a wait so they offered us a seat at the bar. We sat down and after about 6 minutes the bartender told us he would be with us in a minute. About 10 minutes later the manager took our drink order and got an appetizer. After about another 15 minutes we just decided to leave. We didn't want to keep waiting. We told the bartender that we were going to leave since we were being ignored. He told us "I'm not ignoring you" but he was since he didn't want to help us. He helped the other people at the bar but for some reason he didn't want to help us. We walked out after that. This is not what I expect from CPK.
The California chopped salad was fantastic (only reason for 2 stars)! That was the only good thing to share about our meal. We did takeout and our pizzas were bland, tough, and dry. The roasted garlic chicken on cauliflower crust (a smaller than normal pizza) was almost $20. I'd rather pay $20 for a hot & ready from Lil Cesar's that sat for half a day in their hot box. The pear & gorgonzola was so tough, my wife almost threw it away. Luckily, we know how to soften a tough crust. Had we received these during a dine in visit, we would have asked for them to be remade. We will never visit this location again.
Very poor service! Very disappointed with our server. Been coming here for many years and never had such a bad experience.
We made reservations for 6.45 we were waiting half an hour for the table. They brought by mistake buffalo cauliflower to our table and took it back to the kitchen. I told them a little complimentary for waiting for so long for the table she said no sorry I can’t give it to you. She said that the bread is complimentary. You’re letting 5 kids starving waiting for half an hour at least bring us something complimentary a soda I didn’t ask for a free pizza. This was very upsetting.
I was at this location yesterday for lunch. I ordered the lunch special pizza and a Caesar salad. The salad had one drop of dressing on it. I asked our waiter for extra dressing. He said that will be 50 cents! Are you kidding! That is horrible customer service. You dripped one drop of dressing on a tasteless salad and ask the customer to pay for the proper amount.
Well a long wait but plenty of table's available. After 25 min. Waiting to be seated we walked out & will never go there again.
First time on the states in the last 12 years, I felt so discriminated and sorry to step in a restaurant! I’ve been Canada, France, Turkey, and this was exceptionally bad! It was busy, so my wife stepped in to reserve a table; then I did, to ask the hostess if we can sit on a table inside because our 85 year old gust who had a very bad back pain and 5 stents in the heart couldn’t wait “25 min” standing upright outside, and waiting benches where occupied. First, I noticed she had put our name down 2 empty spots after the last name! I didn’t say anything. Not very welcomingly she agreed we sat on the first table next to the waiting area and her desk. After waiting about “45 min” my wife went to remind her we where there and she said we where next. Then another 15 min, seeing everybody who came after us already being served, she told my wife “we called your name twice and no response”!!! My wife said “I was just there for a reminder, how’s that possible? Even after an hour waiting, we’d be leaving if not having a dear guest”!! And she says “you should!, we called you twice”! And all this in front of our guest! I finally got upset and went to talk to the manager. He automatically apologized without letting me talk, without listening to me, starting to sweat on forehead! My guest was more important to me, so accepted and no more discussion, like nothing happened! And THIS is why I’m spending so much time writing this essay, 4:30 in the AM, not able yo sleep, thinking how easily our weekend got spoiled! That one star up there and 10% tip I gave (ALWAYS have been 20% and above) are for the waiter and food! I’ve been places and believe that customer service in US, at least in CA, is the best! We have high expectations here, which we pay for. But you who are a manager! Please watch who you are hiring, for what position! Feel your responsibility!
Food is usually good, service not so much. Sunday 10/13/24 Vlad Lazar was argumentative after I proved to him that my order was wrong, instructions weren't followed. I was very disappointed because instead of an apology he was unprofessional, rough and nasty. They screwed up and I ended up without dinner. WON'T ORDER FROM THERE EVER AGAIN
This is by far the worse service I've ever received. They are under staffed and the workers are not trained at all. The table was dirty when we sat down and the waitress would not clean it unless we ask. Had to ask for water 3 times and she still didn't bring it. Ask for napkins twice and she still forgot. Last time I came here they said they can't serve us because they didn't have enough servers. It was a Tuesday at noon. Starting to think they don't like black people here.
From waiting to be seated too long. Until my wife complained to the manager. While employees stood around to a 1/3 filled restaurant , The food was horrible. ( flavor, undercooked, stale & wilted ..etc) it was all bad… I have eating at CPK since my kids where little, they are grown now. This was an all time low. I can see why business are closing nowadays. If this all you have to offer, I hope you close your doors to. We will all be better off!
The place was empty and the waiter gave us bad service. He never ask us if we needed any refills. Or even checked on us at all unless we flagged the waiter down. I would have understood if the place was full. But we were one of the 3 only customers there. Bad service will never go again. The food was cold and the fish was dry and over cooked. You can tell the cooks were not even paying attention to the cooking because they were too busy talking and having long conversations with the waiters for a long period time. They took so long to give us our food. Never again will I visit the Encino /Tarzana location again.
After 3 years of lunch 2-3 times a week, I have paid my last check at CPK. They have consistently removed some of their best dishes from the menu every 3 months or so. It's very disheartening to patronize a place and have all of the things you like on the menu disappear. When asked, the manager just shrugged and said "nothing we can do about it, can i get you something else?"Supposedly a cost cutting measure...why not just raise the price. Staff turnover in the store seems constant. Poor Management style?
Ordered for pickup. The Thai Chicken Pizza was HORRIBLE-hardly any sauce or chicken and the red onions that I paid for were not on the pizza as though the forgot and threw on top afterwards as they were around the but plenty of carrots and the pizza wasn't cooked properly. The BBQ chicken pizza and pea/barley soup were okay. They didn't include bread. When I asked, the woman reluctantly gave me ONE little bag. The food quality and service have dropped but not the price. SMH
We sat there along with our hungry 3 year old, for 20 mins and no one even came to offer water, let alone take our food order. We walked out, and no one bothered to even ask if there was a problem. The restaurant was fairly empty and most of the servers were just chit chatting. People who came after us had drinks coming out already and food orders being taken, while we just sat there looking at servers hoping someone would take our order. I am going to call this racism because only white people seemed to be getting their orders taken. Never going back to any CPK even if there is no other restaurant to go to.
My husband just stop by to order one pizza pineapple and mushrooms… they totally mess up giving us one with corn onions and broccoli!! Calling them to notify we are more than 30 minutes in the phone after we explain they put us on hold and not answer!!! Shame the management there!! You mistake and not get even good CS!! They keep hanging the phone
First of all their ovens were broken and didn't have pizzas..wife asked for no chicken in her salad and got chicken.. i switched to a Kung pao spaghetti and got cling wrap in my food instead.. very bid disappointment for our food but at least they didn't mess up my daughter's butter pasta
