Frankie's Since 1988

My partner and I dined in last night and enjoyed it so much I convinced him to get takeout with me tonight. He ordered the classic sausage and I ordered the gnocchi stuffed with ricotta in vodka sauce aka ‘pillows of heaven’. When I arrived the food was ready, I took it to my car and opened the pizza to take a photo when I noticed I had been handed a Margherita. I walked back in and the kind man at the front, Nina’s son, told me I could keep the Margherita and he would go have the classic sausage made… what a sweetie! I had actually been trying to convince my partner to order the Margherita, because I like traditional italian pizza, but he wanted to try a classic. So, it worked out even better than anticipated. I’m actually grateful they made a mistake. :) truly, thank you, bc now I know how delicious your Margherita is, and so does my partner. Haha! I think it converted him! The pillows of heaven are just that, absolutely heavenly. If you haven’t tried them, I highly recommend. They are soft and Uber tasty. Next time I wanna try them in the marinara, although the vodka is scrumptious. Wonderful food and people. Thank you. The place is beautiful inside, the only thing I took one star off for is that last night it was so loud my partner and I could barely hear each other from across the table. Is that a bad thing? Probably not for some people, haha. But the noise was actually because the place is so busy, which is a testament to the quality of the food! So, loud isn’t necessarily bad, and in this case is a good sign. But I wish I had been able to hear my partner and vise-versa. Nonetheless, I highly recommend this place.

We have booked a few private events at this restaurant they are always perfectly accommodating with excellent food at great prices and a wonderful setting. Updated review: The new updated/renewed Frankie’s is upbeat and fresh. The new menu has many options to satisfy everyone in your party. The place was packed we ate at the bar and the food was still fast and amazing. 5/5 for sure. Brought my family back… so damn good! Best restaurant in the south suburbs by far!

Our server Alex was amazing and made the best recommendations. Our table was right next to the pizza oven so we started with a pizza as an app-perfection. Risotto and sausage wrapped pork loin was absolutely amazing. We will be back with our kids to order the Nutella/strawberry desert pizza. Thanks!

Great service from Travis and Alex The Host was also very welcoming. Reservations are needed this gets packed pretty quickly. Everytime time we have gone as a walk-in they never had availability . Delicious food the drinks were good although our second martini was not as good as the first .

I'm back on our yearly vacation from the humidity in Florida. We were here on 6.14.23. This is our second time here and all I can say is "THIS PLACE IS BEYOND OUTSTANDING". For starters, we don't like Chicago pizza at all. Sorry Chicago but East Coast has you beat over and over. BUT, this place would come in second place with their WOODSTOVE PIZZA, EXCELLENT! My husband and I felt like we were back in Jersey the moment we bit into the appetizer portion of their 12" pizza. It was spot on!! If I had known this before I would have ordered several pies!! This is the ONLY place in ALL of Illinois where I'll ever have pizza!! Now, there Italian dishes are "OMG" just as outstanding. I'm actually getting hungry just thinking about their food. The owner Franky and his sister do a phenomenal job at making certain that everyone is tended to, you always have a drink and that your food is thoroughly loved. We ordered a chicken soup, Chicken Parmesan with Penne and Vodka Sauce, a Fat Franky, Gnocchi aka pillows in a Vodka Sauce and the Lasagna. OMG OMG OMG. No EXAGGERATION HERE! Their food is EXACTLY how I described earlier BEYOND OUTSTANDING!! Make a reservation and if your able to request a server ask for Travis's section. He was our server both times and he definitely likes where he works and he loves his job. I believe the owners treat their employees extremely well because there is no way a place can run this smoothly if they didn't. They are our #1 restaurant in CHICAGO!! BTW, YES, it's super clean and we will return year after year.

Absolute class act. Truly a gem on the south suburbs. Everything from the apps to the Antipasti to the main course was amazing start to finish. The remodel was so modern and exquisite. Additionally Frankie himself thanked everyone for coming. What a wonderful experience!

Frankie, Angela, and their family run the best restaurant in Tinley Park. I met up with a bunch of girlfriends for an early birthday celebration and they couldn’t have been more accommodating. The staff took excellent care of us and everything tasted wonderful as always. I finally had the burrata pizza and it was out of this world. Service, food, drinks, and ambiance all are top notch here.

Delicious food complimented with great quick service! Grilled octopus was so tender and the pizza transports me back to Italy.

We got a catered meal from here for a small family gathering. It was our first time trying Frankie's and we were intrigued by their good reviews. The food was delicious...everyone loved it. We can't wait to try more from their menu.

We decided as a family to celebrate the 4th of July out at my favorite restaurant- Frankie’s! This place never disappoints. You always see the owner working alongside his team on Holidays which I find so amazing. You know this place is great when you see the effort throughout. The wait staff, the lovely hostess on July 3rd evening and our outstanding waitress Alex who made our evening extra special. You have something great going on here and I love coming every so often to see the magic. Thanks for making my July 3rd evening dinner so delicious! Food is excellent, but me and my girlfriend go to see Alex. She is the best! The food is great but it is really refreshing to have a server who has personality and actually talks to you instead of acting like a mindless robot. She is awesome! My only criticism of Frankies is I wish they would add a lions tail (the cocktail) to the menu and ALWAYS have the apple tart dessert. It was so good; I was devastated to find it wasn't there the next time I had returned. Overall one of my favorite places still!

I ordered catering from Frankie’s Est 1988 for my daughter’s baptism/birthday last weekend, and everything was absolutely amazing! We had about 78 adults and 30 kids, and we chose Package 5( and added 5 more people) which included Italian Beef, Frankie’s Famous Meatballs, Char-Broiled Italian Marinated Chicken Breast sautéed in butter sauce with white wine, Italian Sausage, Pasta Primavera, Cold Pasta Salad, Rigatoni with Vodka Sauce, and a fresh salad. For the kids, we added chicken fingers and Rigatoni with Marinara Sauce — which they loved! There was plenty of food for everyone, and the portions were generous. Delivery was right on time, and the whole process went smoothly and pricing always very reasonable. I received so many compliments from our guests about how delicious everything was. I highly recommend Frankie’s for any catering needs — they truly delivered an excellent experience from start to finish!

Amazing experience here. Carly is a fantastic host. I called in explaining that we cannot have anything made with alcohol or pork and she ensured everything we got followed those guidelines. The chicken Alfredo was incredible. The portions are huge, I would say 2 people to each entree. Pricing is very fair factoring that in. Met the owner as well and he was very kind. Again, I really want to shout out Carly, she is an incredible host. Thank you, we will be back!

I absolutely LOVE this place. The staff is wonderful and the owner, Frankie, is an amazing host. We try to get here at least once a month. Everything is made from scratch and is amazing. It is my absolute favorite Italian restaurant. If you have not tried it yet, you are missing out.

I cannot say enough good things about Frankie’s. Their staff is absolutely amazing! I usually sit at the bar and every single bartender makes me feel so at home and welcomed. Frankie himself is an absolute delight. I have never met such a gracious, caring, and hospitable owner. It is an absolute joy being there surrounded by their entire team. They really treat you like family. The food and drinks are ALWAYS top notch. I cannot recommend this place enough. My absolute favorite!

We had a great dinner at Frankies, our first time as well! Alexandra was amazing, not pushing us out the door as so many restaurants do nowadays. Fabulous cocktails, good pour - but not overpowering. Our food was great & we will definitely be returning!

We celebrated my mom’s birthday here last night and it was fabulous! Great food as always and our waitress was very attentive! Great pumpkin martini and a fantastic happy hour. I love the fancy bar. Highly recommend.

Frankie's never disappoints. We celebrated my 14-year-old granddaughter's birthday because her favorite thing there is the grilled octopus which we all loved! Two of us had the sea bass and shrimp special and it was amazing. Especially the shrimp was cooked perfection. Cocktails are always a hit and apparently so are the mocktails! We'll be back again and again. Frankie's makes you feel like you're home.

Tonight was our 1st visit and we will definitely be back! Food and Service were exceptional! I love a good outdoor patio and Frankie's did not disappoint! Inside looked fantastic also. Lots of nice place to wait while your table is getting ready and the bar area looked nice. Good selection of drinks and food!

A delightful discovery-on par with restaurants in Little Italys in Baltimore and Providence. Carly quickly found us a table and Karen our server was outstanding. The olive oil used at this restaurant is some of the best. Our appetizer of grilled calamari and shrimp was made to perfection. So was the frutti de mare! Great cannoli too. We shall return when we come back to Chicago.

Frankie’s Is the best in our area! Beautiful restaurant delicious Italian food service is amazing. It really is so cozy and good vibes! We are obsessed with their vodka pasta sauce.

Been going to Frankie's for years and every time I'm there I think "wow, this is one of the best things I've eaten." And on top of that the drinks are delicious, the atmosphere is fantastic, and the staff make you feel like family.

This was our 1st time at Frankie’s and the food was delicious and our waitress Alex was very friendly and inviting. We will definitely be back and request her.

I would highly suggest trying for a seat at the bar. Bri will take care of you like no other. If seated, Travis is your man! Can’t say enough how much we have enjoyed this place over the years!

Delicious food and intimate ambiance. We have always had great service as well. Price point really depends on what you get, but I didn't find it overly expensive.

Excellent service! Food was absolutely delicious and spot on with taste and presentation. We had the broiled calamari and shrimp as our appetizer…WOW! Our server was Alex and she was simply amazing. Her attention to detail, service, recommendations and personality was a delight. Thank you for the wonderful Italian experience right here in Tinley Park. We are looking forward to coming back soon to experience the outdoor seating/vibe. Beautiful place!

Absolutely exceptional service. Our server, Karen, was amazing. Very attentive and was a joy to be around. The food was just as amazing. Our table had the rigatoni vodka and the chicken limone and it was amazing. Our table also tried a variety of drinks including a dirty martini, strawberry lemon martini, and s’mores martini. All of the drinks were amazing. The owner is very involved and walked up to check on our table to make sure everything was good. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone! Absolutely amazing service, food, and drinks. Ambiance is amazing. 5 stars all around.

I love the fact when I made the reservation, it prompted me if there was any kind of special occasion that says a lot about a place. From the moment we arrived we were warmly greeted. The outside seating is very nice And I love the fact that it’s shaded. The entire staff is incredibly tentative. I feel like everyone there treated you as if they were the owner themselves. When I was looking for a place for dinner I googled brick oven pizza in the area. The menu is phenomenal and I’m very excited to go back and try another dish. I definitely got the impression. There’s a lot of regulars in there as the owner was making rounds and saying hello to everybody. And the desserts were out of this world. I could definitely see this place becoming one of my favorite Italian spots in terms of fine dining. I wish the staff and owner of this business continued success.

Honestly, 10/10. Lives in Orland my whole life and passed by this place a million times, decided to give it a try and my mind was blown. Perfect service and all the food was made to perfection. Great job Frankie!

This was our first time here. The service was great- Alex was our server, she was very attentive and has a great personality. Angela was super sweet for saving our seats at the bar. The food is fabulous. We'll definitely be coming back soon!

Frankie’s was absolutely perfect! I’m not sure how there isn’t a rating higher than 5 for this amazing restaurant and staff. Valentine’s Day dinner with the wife and they were completely full, yet we never wanted or waited for anything. The food was perfect in every way. The owners were mingling with customers and staff while serving everyone as well. Thank you for the best dining experience we’ve had in this state. It was beyond what I expected for sure.

Was looking for place for vday. Everywhere was booked. Called Frankie's they were booked, but got a call back that someone cancelled. Glad we went. First time there. Food was delicious, drinks even better and bartenders real made the night fun with great conversation. They were working their tails off. Will be back soon to try that oven pizza.

Based on our phenomenal experience a few months ago, we decided to hold our company Christmas party at Frankie's. My partner is from Southern Italy and a strict critic of Italian food. Frankie's is absolutely fantastic. Not only is the food truly authentic, fresh and delicious, but ultimately was a crowd pleaser for our company and friends. We ordered 4 appetizers and it was absolutely appreciated and devoured by our staff. The drinks were pouring, made to perfection, and the entrées were as good as it gets for fine Italian cuisine. The restaurant staff and servers were impeccable, working like fine synchronized swimmers. The owner Frankie is hustling and making sure everything runs smoothly. His homemade limoncello is truly the bomb - fresh, delicious, and packs a delicate punch. In a nutshell, there is no better Italian restaurant in the suburbs, and I would put this against the finest Italian restaurants in the city. We like to thank Frankie and the staff for providing an outstanding event for our Christmas party! Highly recommend Frankie's!

Came to this restaurant with high expectations and they were completely exceeded. I love the atmosphere and the food is more than delicious. Our waitress Alex is one of the best servers we have had. Always on top of things and very kind. If you’re looking for great Italian food this is the place to come to!!

#157 on my visited pizza list. Comes in at a respectable #19. Finally, a great neopolitan pizza on the southwest side. Crispy and chewy perfection. Tossed perfectly thin in the middle with crispy pockets of air on the edges make for a great crust. Better than average and not your typical crumble sausge is very good. The light San Marzano sauce gives this pie great proportions. Too many places over sauce their pizzas but Frankie's gets it right. Tried the light, pillowy, ricotta-filled gnocchi as well. Wife said it was the best gnocchi she's ever had.

Nice place, great food, OUTSTANDING service. (Thanks Travis!) If you've read my other reviews 4 stars isn't a knock in my book. Even in my amateur, ya gotta be really awesome for that 5th star. That being said, our server Travis (and others) hit it! Was there for a special occasion. We didn't say anything in particular about it but Travis picked up on it and was particularly nice (sincerely) to my Mom. I arrived a few minutes late so I just asked him to recommend something. He did and it was excellent (Fettuccine Bolognese, baked). My first time there and I'll go back for sure. Four stars for the atmosphere was a margin call. Nice place, very comfortable, I'd say upscale for the area. Clearly a popular spot as it was pretty much a full house yet the service 'on it.' I don't mind a busy restaurant. Th3 following comment is more suggestion than complaint, I hope it's received as such... The music was a shade loud for a restaurant that has a bar vs a bar that also serves food. I took notice between songs the volume of the crowd lowered too. To finish on a high note, they have a really nice dining patio out front decorated for fall. If it was a bit warmer... 🙂👍👍

We enjoyed this place but have one important comment. We chose to sit at the bar as we enjoy the show. In this situation the 2 bartenders worked so very hard for the entire restaurant with no support from management. Management not in sight all night on a very busy night. Even the Hostess was glued to the front. Food was phenomenal. Loved the bartenders. Tipped extra hoping to provide a little holiday joy. Shame on management to not ensure a successful evening.

Wine pours were fair. Sangria was light on the alcohol. Lemoncello was dilute. Tasty but diluted. The lemon sorbeto was solid. Too frozen to enjoy. It tasted good but was very hard to eat. The star was taken for these and for the styrofoam take home containers. It's a great place to eat and the service was good but the chef forgot our desserts, Carmel gelato and the rock hard sorbeto. I will go back again.

Small portions for the price. You get poured a quarter of a glass of wine for the price of a whole glass. Weak cocktails. Rush you to order and eat so they can turn the table. Will never go back.

Extremely important review for young couples considering this restaurant. They also removed my reservation on open table so I cannot leave my review there, even though we got drinks and an appetizer. The simple gist for those who don’t want to read: My Fiance and I (mid 20s) were treated with disrespect and contempt by the OWNER. He talked poorly of us aloud to the entire restaurant and falsely blamed us for our long wait to order, claiming it was because we were 15 minutes early when in FACT we were only 4 minutes ahead of reservation. For those who want the details; We had a reservation for 7pm, we arrived at exactly 6:56pm because I have always been raised with “if you’re on time you’re late.” If this was a problem, we would have had absolutely no problem waiting 4 minutes, but we were sat immediately. It wasn’t until 7:07 a random waitress asked if we had been helped- no we had not. We FINALLY got menus and had decided our appetizer and drinks. Our actual waiter came around now at approximately 7:14, we ordered drinks and our appetizer. In my honest opinion, a restaurant that TIMES your table, should not take almost 20 minutes to check in. It wasn’t until about 7:24 we got our appetizer and bread at the same time (even though bread was supposed to be brought immediately). We finished our SMALL appetizer in about 5 minutes which is when the OWNER finally brought our drinks (wine and a mixed drink, approximately 7:30). We politely asked if we could get our waiter so we could order our meals, his response? “WELL you came 15 minutes early so you can’t just expect us to serve you so fast. You ate your appetizer very quickly.” Me and my partner obviously in shock by his overly defensive answer, I responded “we came in 4 minutes early, if that was a problem we would’ve waited. All we asked was if our waiter could be sent over because he hasn’t checked in since we ordered our drinks.” And you would’ve thought I cursed his mothers name… he walked over to our waiter half way across the restaurant, and said for the entire establishment to hear “CAN YOU JUST GO GET THEIR ORDER, THEY'RE GIVING ME A HARD TIME”…… At this point everyone was looking at us, we felt embarrassed and we were never rude nor impatient. Our waiter came over, apologized, we told him it was not on him but we needed our check. We paid for all we had ordered, and walked out with our heads high because the owner’s temper tantrum was not going to ruin our date night. We were half way to our car when the owner FOLLOWED us out and asks “you’re not REALLY gonna leave are you? Seriously??” And my Fiancé replied “have a good night” and we left. The waiters and the owner consistently checked in with all the older couples around us, all while avoiding eye contact with me when we wanted to order. The owner is absolutely an embarrassment for treating paying customers this way. If you’re a younger couple, please avoid this place. Save yourself the headache of waiting and waiting for the service everyone around you will receive.
