Very good food! Order the polo la brass!
We received a large portion of food at a reasonable price. It was delicious we had the chicken a la brasa and arroz chaufa. If you like Peruvian food you will not be dissappointed.
It was so good! They were a little busy so our food was kinda late but they solved it and gave us an amazing service!
Wow the food was great! The staff was a bit slow and it wasn’t busy when we went but over all the food made up for it
Went to dine, waitress was very friendly owner too.Had a Jaleah familiar that plate feeds 4 people easily.Jaleah is a mix of fried breaded sea food with a onion salad and cassava chunks.Food was delish
Great food, good pricing and very generous portions well worth your money.

I have gone couple of times and they are the BEST. Lo mejor de los mejor. Excellent customer service. The food everything is special.
We had a fried rice chicken dish and a chy, beef and shrimp with rice. Everything was fresh, flavorful and delicious.
Andrea is amazing and very good waitress we love her ❤️
Warm enviroment. Quiet, good service, amazing food. Fresh. Owner is super friendly. Try the jalea familiar. Is huge!!!!
Food was amazing!! For the dollar amount they really fill the plates!! Alot of leftovers for lunch next Day!!!
You have to taste the rotisserie chicken 🐔 it's delicious.
Very delicious. Staff was very friendly. I'll be back. Mucho Gracias.
They have good food, great service. Definitely recommend.
My first time trying Peruvian food, and it was amazing! Taste, portion and service were on point!
Super good food A+ 💯 % recommend this place!
Excellent
Excellent authenic Peruvian restaurant. Highly recommended and will definitely visit again 👍
First time having Peruvian food fantastic my wife said the people at the restaurant were very friendly
The greeter/ server was super friendly and helpful. She recommended some options I'd never tried before and they did NOT disappoint. The food was excellent! Seasoned well, authentic and flavorful. Worth the wait and portions are large. We will be enjoying these leftovers! Will definitely be back soon. Enjoy!
I am a fiend for Peruvian chicken and this place did not disappoint! I still think my local chicken shop in VA is my favorite but we had a wonderful experience here. Andrea is so lovely and everything came out so hot and fresh and flavorful!! Highly recommend for a fantastic Peruvian chicken experience :)
This was my first time at the restaurant and it was amazing! The staff are super friendly and make you feel welcome from the moment you walk in. The food is authentic and absolutely delicious- you can tell they put a lot of care and love into the dishes.
I ordered take-out; half chicken, french fries, yellow rice, beans, and papa rellena. The chicken tasted delicious; it arrived hot , was moist, and seasoned perfectly to my taste so I didn't need any sauce over my chicken to make it enjoyable to eat. Yellow rice had carrots and peas in it, and I had beans to eat along with it ; it was hot and seasoned well enough for me to enjoy. The papa rellena taste delicious; it was a good portion size and arrived hot and with the onions on the side as a compliment it was a tasty combination that I will come back to order again. I definitely recommend trying this place.
Very very good food. Food came out very quick and tasted fresh and delicious. huge portion of food definitely worth the prices.Very authentic good Peruvian food. Definitely recommend
The food was wonderful and filling I had the fish and it was fresh. I do didn't want to stop eating so we took the rest home for dinner. Great not having to cook sometimes.
menú! was just passing through and stopped nearby to charge my car. I took a walk and found this "tasty" restaurant. The patatas relleno was delicious. I cannot wait to explore the rest of the menu!
Very good, food was better than most Peruvian restaurants we have tried so far. The roasted chicken, Lomo Centavo and calamari were all tasty. We will be back to try their civiche.
Coming from NY we were looking for place to eat and we decided to try and we made a great choice, I am personally tired of going to restaurants and pay so much money for an ok food. This restaurant was great.
Nice place with good ambiance. The service was fast and the staff very polite. As for the food, the portions were very generous and the taste quite good. I'll definitely be going back.
Excellent food. And great Peruvian experience. Price is fair. But food is another level.
The food was so so good. My favorite is there ensalada de cebolla it’s so fresh and it’s made with what taste like a ceviche dressing. They have such great prices and are always super sweet. The papa rellena was good and crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. For the papa rellena and large salad it was only $12.88 and I had left overs for the next day. Highly recommend this spot.
We went for a quick lunch, and the food was terrific. The service was excellent, although the waiter struggled a little with the English language. However, she pushed through and went above and beyond to take our order and even gave us some valuable insights into the menu and their offerings. The only thing they need to improve is the volume of the music. It was way too loud for a lunch or even a dinner experience. After-hours party time is okay, but not during a meal, during which you would like to have a conversation at the table.
I got Pollada Peruana, Chicago Morada and Churrasco Peruano. I had an amazing dining experience at this restaurant! There was no wait time, which was a pleasant surprise. Andrea, my server, was exceptional—friendly, attentive, and incredibly helpful throughout my visit. The environment was clean, inviting, and comfortable, making it a great place to relax and enjoy a meal. The food portions were generous and well worth the price. I highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for great service, a welcoming atmosphere, and excellent value for their money!"
Great place. New to us. Parking on the street and behind the grocery store. It's nice to find Peruvian comfort food. For those trying to venture out but wanting to play it safe, take heart they have roasted chicken. Pretty tame, well spiced, and typically served with French fries. However, if you want to try classic Peruvian comfort food, this place is pretty good. They have a trio, not quite a pre fix menu, but a sampling of different dishes. You can pick from a variety of dishes from the menu. We tried the following- papa renella, cau cau, carapulca, tamale, seco de res, and Lomo Saltado. Mom's cooking is always best, but man this was good. I can say that because mom was with me and agreed. Would definitely go back to try the other offerings including their chicken. Service was attentive and efficient. Glad we tried this place.
I enjoyed my 3-fish dish: Trio Marino (Ceviche, Arroz con Mariscos, Chicharron de Calamar). The fried calamaries where a bit loose in their jacket often falling apart, but tasted fine. Good value at $18. Enough rice leftover for lunch tomorrow. Salad was boring, as they often are, with minimal dressing - no choice offered. No alcoholic beverages - which is fine, but just so you know.
Food are great and lots, the only improvement needed is the service.
Love their shrimp fried rice with the green sauce
The food is good but the prices are a little bit too high the service is great
Nice place to find your pollito a la brasa, good service!
Lovely place, the food is good, price is okay. Their pollo a la brasa was well seasoned, it really has that Lima flavor going on and makes you want to come back for more! Their Lomo saltado is very good. It has taste, texture and it definitely makes you want to order another one to go.
The place is clean and they have hand sanitizer on tables! But the prices are on the expensive side for small portions. The food is good and friendly staff
Upon entering I was completely ignored for service by all 3 employees on the floor. After a long wait, the woman (staff) at the counter refused to speak English to me. She'd laugh with a friend but wouldn't crack a smile for me, the customer. Food is decent but customer service is unsatisfactory
First time visiting. I tried the lomo saltado. Portion size 10. Freshness 10. Lomo classic taste 5. The dish lacked that classic smoky/soy taste that let you know you were eating lomo when your eyes were closed. The closed eye taste test lead me to believe I was eating just plain strips of beef. Nothing that made me want to lick the plate. Price was great. One of the best around for lomo. Just that they lost it on the flavor. Recommendation to the chef. Try it before you serve it. If it doesn't instantly make you want to make a second batch for yourself, fix the taste. Don't use family as your food critics. Everything is great to them. Fix the taste issue and you will be one of the top few that actually makes good lomo.
I called in a to go order and the gentleman that picked up was very polite and kind. I ordered a shrimp chaufa, lomo saltado and flan to go. By the time we got home (10 mins commute) the food was still very warm. Diving into the chaufa: it was a bit dry and lacked the flavor we are used to tasting in the Peruvian cuisine. It came with two small containers of the green sauce, which did not compliment the dish at all. The lomo saltado was overcooked but had some flavor. I think if I would of ate at the restaurant perhaps it would of tasted better. The flan was bitter and overly drenched in melted sugar. Did not taste homemade either. I do think that having the food to go might of influenced the flavoring. I will be going back to see if the food tastes better when served fresh on a plate rather than on a to go container.
Good food but be expected to pay 25% gratuity automaticcally no matter the party size!
I really wanted to love this place. I love Peruvian food, and I’ve even been to Peru, so I came in with high hopes. The restaurant is a small storefront, and street parking was easy. We were the first customers of the day. When we walked in, festive Spanish music was playing quite loudly. The dining room had red tables with vases of artificial red flowers—simple and colorful. I was starving, which always raises expectations. I ordered the snapper with tostones for $30. The portion was generous, and the fish itself was well cooked. Unfortunately, everything was extremely salty. The rice was hard and undercooked, and the tostones were also heavily salted. Overall, the flavors were good, but the salt overwhelmed the dish. I tried to explain this to the waitress as best I could. My Spanish is very basic, and she didn’t speak any English. She explained (in Spanish) that the person who speaks English wasn’t there that day. While I don’t expect people in Peru to speak English, it would be helpful in an English-speaking country—especially for things like food preferences or allergies. A little extra seasoning never hurt anyone, unless you do have food sensitivities. For my husband, I pointed to a photo of a seafood stir fry, but what arrived was chicken and beef instead. He didn’t enjoy it and barely touched the plate. To their credit, she didn’t charge us for his meal. The water was Dasani, which I personally don’t drink, but that’s just preference. We paid, left a generous tip, and headed out. Despite the issues, the waitress was genuinely sweet, and the music added a fun energy. Once more customers arrived and conversations filled the room, the music volume felt more appropriate. I would go back—with the plan to kindly ask for less salt if possible. I truly want mom-and-pop businesses like this to succeed. I’d encourage you to check it out for yourself and form your own opinion.
The rostisery chicken looked and tasted days old. No paper of any kind in the bathroom.
Who charges $5 for beans? This is ridiculous amount of money. The staff doesn't explain the menu properly so I ended spending more money than necessary. They expect a tip for takeout and when I said no tip then the staff smiled at each other. Now I'm worried about eating my food
The food was good, the service wasn't that good. Be careful if you pay with credit card, they will charge a service fee of 15%. The explanation "people don't leave tips"; therefore the restaurant will charge you a service fee.
Let's just say any ceviche style dish is always made by the use of whitefish NOT freshwater fish!! Any experienced would tell you that!!
Not recomended food taste awfull and the time so long
Cau cau was loaded with potatoes...hardly any meat at all. So disappointed.
Terrible serves they only had 1 waitress running around sad
Order a full chicken with rice & salad received a half of RAW bloody of what appears to be a pigeon. Called restaurant & the person told me thats what I get. Thats not what I ordered, $40 & couldn't feed my family tonight.. Wont recommend these CROOKS taking advantage of inflation & all of us.
Food was very disgusting, the guy who took my order hardly speak English and The food was just very awful I’m really upset this place can’t ever get my money again.
Walk in the door to sit down n eat the bad odor inside the restaurant was so bad I really want it to throw up didn't even invited my party to go inside ..will never try going there again😳😱
Horrible service. Walked out after 15 minutes of no service. Other customers who arrived after me were served. I guess my money is no good here.
Stopped at this restaurant for lunch. The place was clean and looked like a good place to get a solid inexpensive meal. I was given two menus; the regular menu, and one that displayed photographs of several dishes which I assumed were the day's specials. Entrees on the regular menu ranged between $15-$18, but the entrees on the specials page did not have a price printed on the menu. I decided to go for one of the specials that showed fried pork belly with several sides. I ordered the pork with rice, fried plantains and a salad. The meal took a bit longer than I expected, but I convinced myself that this was a sign that the food would be fresh and good. I was served a plate that consisted of five chunks of deep fried pork that was either fried twice, or left in there too long; whatever little meat was in the pork was charred and hard. The rice and plantains were fine. The salad, which I was told was lettuce, tomato, and onions was a bowl of julienne red onions with a couple of tomato cubes drenched in lime juice. No lettuce. I ate what I could of the pork and decided to leave, thinking I could at least save the rice and plantains for a later meal. Upon asking for the bill I was asked if it was cash or card, I said card and was told it was $35 and change. I was surprised and the attendant must've seen my face because she informed me that the gratuity was already included (20%). The breakdown of the bill showed they charged me $25 for 1 pound of pork belly with sides (even if it was really a pound of meat, most of it was inedible), and they also included a $7+ tip without my consent or previous knowledge (I understand this is standard for big groups dinning at a restaurant, not for a single person having lunch). I will not be eating at this restaurant again, and I would not recommend it based on my experience.
The worst food ever, no a/c in the place on top of that we wait more than 35 minutes to get the food.
If i could give this place zero stars I would. its not a welcoming atmosphere, the waiter was rude just because your having a bad day doesnt mean you have to take it out on the customers. Honestly had to throw away the food away the rotisserie chicken lacked in taste had no flavor, fried rice was very bland also the sauces tasted like they had gone bad. save your money you are better off going to another restaurant.
It’s very wrong to charge tip ahead, you never do that.
The waitress stole a 6$ tip from me instead of allowing me to tip her which was too bad because I planned on giving her more than that. She literally blacked out the total with a marker and hand wrote a new total at the top. When I asked about it she created a fake receipt saying I paid a certain amount and the change due from that was the tip. I’m very disappointed they will never see me again that’s for certain
First time here and service is very bad waited 15 minutes to get menu and then another 30 minutes to get bill. And they refuse to substitute anything on your plate even if you're willing to pay. Will not visit again leaving unhappy. Will not and do not recommend thud place and I have worked in the hospitality business. Never have I experienced such poor service specially on a slow night. $100 spent for what? Poor Service ,
I ordered by phone before in English and they mess up my order I order a second time by phone in Spanish and they mess up again I went in person and order for the third time 'the same arroz chaufa NO EGGS veggies only, shrimp rice NO EGGS" and well done french fries and they messed up for the third time . When i clearly asked her before i left , are u sure it doesnt have eggs and she answered that my food dint have any egg on ,it ! THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE ‼️ 😡😡😡😡 All 3 times I ordered the rice had egg in , it and the fries were cold and soggy 🤢 When I called her she APPOLOGIZE but not once offered to exchange my plate . THIS WILL BE THE LAST TIME ! SABROSO IN EAST HARTFORD CT HAS MY SERVICE MY ADVICE IS TO CHECK YOUR FOOD BEFORE YOU LEAVE ! BIGGEST MISTAKE I DID .
The worse pollo a la brasa ever. The alfajores were really good though. They need to inproved the taste of a real pollo a la brasa.Sorry. More the 40 years in Ct and not even once I found a good pollo a la brasa restaurant. ( carbón o leña) thsts how you really make the taste.
I don't know why I'm getting this review I walked past it I've never been inside
Paid $30 for a rotisserie chicken on Thanksgiving Day. It's usually $18. What a scam! Just lost a customer. Another Peruvian restaurant opened up in East Hartford will try that instead.
I use to love this place food was so good. But I think Mama Juana is getting busy and she slacking on her food. Very salty, beef very chewed almost chock on it the wait is forever. You should hire more people to help you if you can not keep up. I will not be ordering from them again for a while I hope they go back to what it use to be, cause the food was good but now its not.
The service here was terrible, my family and I visited the restaurant yesterday after my graduation and the place was empty. I thought since we were the only customers in the restaurant we would get good service and that was not the case we had to ask the server to come take our orders. Utensils weren’t left on the table napkins weren’t given to us. The waiter was on the phone the entire time that we were inside the restaurant she was barely paying attention to us and at the end I wanted to pay some cash and the rest of my card for the bill. The waiter decided that she was going to keep $40 as a tip when she clearly did not deserve it because her service was terrible and gratuity was already included in the bill which also she makes up and doesn’t let you know how much tip she’s giving herself do not recommend that you come here.
Worse place ever !!! I went to try this place for first time with my mom and They didn’t have what they offered for breakfast! They took long to help us(place was empty) I order 1 plate of chicharron and a ceviche and everything was 65.48 !!!! Than she tells me that tip will be included $ 11.55 for 2 people !!! I will def give this place a 0 !!! Don’t go there
