I'm ashamed I haven't reviewed yet. I did in my head but apparently I stalled at that step. It's Coco's. As a native Angeleno, major nostalgia. Still has the bran muffin, cinnamon roll french toast, smooth as silk coffee, and the delicious Pacific omelet. But the best thing about this place is Ed. He's psychic, superhuman, and I'm pretty sure he lives here because I've been here three separate times and he's always here. In fact, I'm always in his section. Is he the only server? At any rate, he's everything you need and want when you're in the mood for a classic diner experience, and so much more. Even if the food wasn't classic and comforting, I'd say go for Ed. He's a gem. But yeah, the breakfast are solid. Haven't made it for lunch or dinner, but I would bet it's also great.
Coco’s Restaurant came in clutch on Christmas Eve; warm, welcoming, and fully stocked with pies when a lot of places are picked clean. It’s the kind of spot that quietly saves the holiday: solid comfort food vibes, friendly service, and that magical moment of seeing a whole lineup of pies ready to go when you’re on a festive time crunch. Pro tip: If you want a Coco’s pie for Thanksgiving, order ahead. Thanksgiving is their pie Super Bowl and they rarely have many left day of. Christmas, though? They usually have plenty available, so it’s a way safer “walk-in and grab one” holiday.
I havent been to cocos in years!!! Our hostess and server DIANA was the most generous, thoughtful, and outstanding person. I am so thankful she is here i will definitely be back because of her
Very clean restaurant with great service. Waitress was very nice and had a lovely personality.
On our visit to Coco's we met up with a longtime friend for breakfast. Our waitress was great, but the food was bland. No flavor in the breakfast burrito, oatmeal was too thick and lukewarm and the Lumberjack breakfast, well, the bacon wasn't fully cooked and the eggs were runny/watery. Maybe on our next visit breakfast foods will better. One could only hope.
I had lunch with 8 of my friends. My meal (country fried steak) was delicious! Our server, Ed, was so personable, friendly, and efficient that our lunch became a dining experience. We all thoroughly enjoyed our slice of pie for dessert, which is their special on Wednesdays. I highly recommend this Coco's on Euclid in Upland!
Such a pleasant Coco's. I think its the last one to exist, yet I may be severely incorrect. The chocolate cream pie was amazing as it always has been. Rosa was a fantastic server, and she deserved that +30% tip. Hope this shoppe stays around to serve pie forever.
I had a take out dinner consisting of chicken friend steak, the small plate. It was absolutely delicious! The steak was scrumptious, the vegetables were tender and tasty, and the mashed potatoes were extremely tasty!! I walked in and ordered it and within 12-15 minutes it was ready. All of the utensils wee in the bag, napkins too, and the salt and pepper! All in all, it was an excellent meal, especially for the price!! I also gave a tip!
I went to eat here with a friend and it was lovely. Rosa, our server was sweet, enthusiastic, and informative. Excellent service. Also the pasta was great!!!! My favorite. What's not in the picture is some biscuits and gravy that my friend ordered after. They were freaking delicious. Fresh baked biscuits and what seemed like home made country gravy. Suggestions from a satisfied customer: (1) streamline the amount of "menus" you give the customers. I was handed 4 different pieces of paper to read. Management, please make it easy for your customers to order. 1 main menu and if need be a specials menu would be best. (2) play some good music. Music makes people feel good, and feel good people eat! It also makes the restaurant more inviting. Take a book from johnny casinos they always play dean Martin or something like that. Doent have to be old music, but something nice. Months ago I went there and the manager was playing classic music. COME ON! HAHA. don't scare away your customers:) (3) your cashiers and waiters should be offering pie to customers after each meal and when they check out. This might boost sales! Don't be pushy, but make it sound delicious 😋. (4) the tvs look tacky. Ditch them. Or have a designated are where people can sit and watch likea bar area. (5) reprint and laminate your menus. The resolution on the menus is low at best. The pictures should look sharp and clear. Make them see the food and get your customers mouths watering!!! (5) a manager should at least once visit each active table to check in with guests and make sure everything is satisfactory. This looks good for cocos and makes the customers feel like you care. (6) upsell appetizers!!!!! Make money! (7) get your outdoor sign redone. It looks faded. Come on! Look inviting. I have more suggestions but it's a lot. stay open I love cocos! Don't you dare close this restaurant 😤.
We Coco's decided to try another place for our lunch. We decided on Coco's. Coco's was my family's favorite for a long time. We used to go to the one in Pasadena on Colorado and Michillinda. Today I had their chicken, avocado bacon cheese sandwich with fries. The sandwich was fresh including the potatoe bread. My honey had their mushroom burger. Everything was delicious. The lady server was very attentive. She kept on filling my ice tea drink. The server was polite, friendly and courteous. I would recommend this place. P.S. they serve prime rib on Fridays after 4 p.m. and weekends from 12 p.m. I am coming back to try their prime rib dinner.
The food was cool. Nothing spectacular but it was good. But our waiter he was actually really really good. Took care of every thing we needed and was really quick with it. Atmosphere was cool until somebody brought their little babies in and couldn't control them.
I had been here before, long time ago - bad service, service this time was much improved. Breakfast was good fresher than some places, but no white toast - strange, the bacon was good didn't taste like it had been sitting for ages, was actually made to order. But it gets a five for "Cherry Pie" 🥧. Very few restaurants carry pie, much less Cherry 🍒 Pie 🥧 😋. Definitely a turn for the better. Decor could use some updating. Last thing, to the owner, TURN ON THE A/C!! It is HOT inside.
I had eggs Benedict. Very good. We llearned that Wednesday is FREE PIE day. So I'll go back on a Wednesday. I went there for lunch in the past, with a friend. They appear to be strongest in breakfast items. They also had a good variety of lunch choices. I also saw their strength in pies. So I selected a combination order of steak and vegetables that also included a choice of pie. They were out of the baked potato so they substituted soup. Everything was delicious .
Came here with my daughters and my mom. after buying my first Black 2020 Mercedes. The food was great . I came here another time with my childern. and my key to my blue nissan was taken by the waiter staff playing g.a.m.e.s. After searching for the Key , the waiter staff magically return the key which had a yellow and black tag. I believe. Staff at this location started playing games
I live right around the corner from the restaurant have been ordering from this place for over 15 years and I called twice and was put on hold for over 30 minutes both times and never answered again so I had to come into the restaurant and talked to the manager and a hostess and said no worries like it wasn't a big deal and kid of brushed me off. I will not be back. I hope Corporate reads this review
Cold food and obnoxious music 😔 I was really disappointed to see how Coco’s has gone downhill. I worked at this location as one of my first jobs, 27 years ago. I guess things change over time, right? I ordered the prime rib, medium rare. It came out just a few bites into my salad. It seemed too fast, both for my dinner flow, but I also wondered how they’d cooked it so fast. The first bit was luke warm. I was hungry so I continued. But as I took the next few bites, I realized the other side was cold. Like, actually COLD to the touch on more than half of slab of meat. I asked for a box and let her know I’d take it home and heat it up cause it was cold. The waitress was polite enough to say she was sorry, and would let them know. But didn’t offer to make it right. I did very much enjoy the loaded potato, and I finished my blue cheese salad, which wasn’t great, but whatever. They don’t have their amazing “house” dressing anymore, or the garlic butter and rolls. Also ordered a piece of cherry pie to go but didn’t try it cause I felt SICK to my stomach on the way home. And all that evening. And the next day. If only the food were the worst part, I may return, but the music was too much. It sounded like something coming from an ice cream truck, or maybe Chuck-E-Cheese, or a Christmas album for toddlers. Super annoying, repetitive drum machine, and just random music to hear in a regular diner for grownups. It was more like music I’d expect to see a 3 yr old watching on his moms iphone to preoccupy him while she grocery shops. The waitress was understanding of my request and had it changed to some classic Christmas music. They have WiFi and I had planned to hang there for a while and work on my laptop, but after putting my headphones on to drown out the noise, then realizing my food was cold, and my stomach started to feel funny, I decided it was better to get home. I don’t know who decides on the music here but yikes, that was the deal breaker for me 😭
Veronica, the supervisor hit the pen with an object attached to it that the server had in her hand and it hit me on forehead near my right eye. Neither apologized. When I asked Veronica why the server was so quiet, not talking to us she said her workers just woke up and came straight to work. It was about 5:45 p.m. Then I got served 2 cups of coffee that were nearly cold. Then they added an extra 2.50 to my bill that wasn't on the menu. Then Veronica said she didn't say what me and my friend heard her say about her workers barely waking up and coming to work. So in essence she was calling us liars. She then said the general manager would review the video footage that has audio but he isn't here and won't be until Wednesday.
I would like to start off ny saying that I've always come to this restaurant in Upland. So far I've never had an experience as I did today. My son and I walked in to cool off and get a decent meal. That didn't happen. It was 97 or so outside, and I expected it to be much cooler inside. It wasn't. Granted I was walking but I expected it to be a much noticeable difference in the air. It was like there was no air conditioning at all. And I was surprised that people in there didn't notice it. We were seated after they saw us, and we still had to wait for a waitress to walk over to ask if we wanted a drink. I think the manager finally asked us if we wanted something to drink. After receiving our drinks, she didn't say your server will be with you . Nothing. After looking at the menu, we noticed that noone even came to us. The waitress walked over to a couple not too far from us. She could have easily tuned around and acknowledge us. But nothing. We realized that we were actually being IGNORED purposely. It was the most awful experience ever in a restaurant. After being ghosted in a restaurant, which had only a few people actually eating, I was fed up and got up and walked away. Told my son let's go. I walked up to the manager, or whoever she was, told her that nobody acknowledged us, and the restaurant was too hot. I would pay for my drinks, but she said its ok. We could go. We left gladly. I don't know what happened to Cocos. But I will never step foot in that restaurant ever again. They must pick and choose who they cater to Apparently it wasn't my son and myself. Funny, but we are as people like to put it Hispanic. I personally don't like that category. Just remember all, those cooks in the back room are Mexican (Latino). We were the only Hispanics waiting to be served. Apparently we can't eat in a restaurant, only work in the BACKROOM. Maybe that waitress didn't feel we deserved to eat in there. Just saying all. As my father who by the way served in WW11, used to say becareful who you give your money too. Thank God they didn't get any of MINE!!
