Great food, our preferred Raman place, we come all the way from Fairfield due to their variety and the chicken karage.
great food, although the table was a little sticky. the bathroom there is kept nicely and clean.
I work kitty corner from Ramen 101 and have been anxiously waiting for them to open, ate there 9/10/21 and was not disappointed. Absolutely loved my soup, I had and extra egg and mushrooms added, my friend had an extra egg and fried garlic added. Loved the flavor so much that I ordered a bowl to take for my husband, he liked it too.
We recently visited this restaurant and enjoyed its delicious spicy miso ramen, including the homemade chili oil, which added a fun kick of spice to each bite. While the staff was friendly and helpful, we encountered one employee with bleached red hair who was rude and unprofessional. Overall, the experience was satisfying and enjoyable, and we would recommend a visit to this restaurant for its flavorful food.
Absolutely the best beef I’ve ever had. Wish there were more seating inside, but we get quick service and the food is amazing!
Ramen was 10/10 !!! Service was great and the food was amazing !!! Im so glad we gave this place a chance . I usually dont eat my left overs and let me tell you when i heated it up it was soooooo good !
We stopped in yesterday on a whim after Googling “Ramen near me” and I’m so glad we found this place. The service was fast and the ramen was EXCELLENT. I had the black garlic ramen and my partner had the tonkatsu ramen. I can’t wait to go back again. It is a little on the pricey side, but you get really big portions and great quality food in a fast casual setting. There’s not much seating so a few outside tables would be great…and a cold beer would’ve paired so well with the Ramen, but they don’t serve alcohol as far as I noticed. We will be back soon!
I’ve been here four or five times. The food has always been spot on. Delicious and served super quickly. Everyone seems really nice and the food is exceptional.
Located in the Nut Tree Shopping Center, Ramen 101 is a nice place to get a bowl of ramen. Decent service today for takeout. It was only 4pm on a Friday, so it was not busy. There are plenty of empty tables for dining in, but can get busy around dinner time. We got Tonkatsu Ramen and Black Garlic Ramen that were both tasty. The roasted egg is made well. There could be more ingredients in the ramen, but you can opt to add more ingredients for a cost. There is better ramen 20-30 minutes away, but if you are in Vacaville and want to eat some ramen, then try it out. They do offer other items such as appetizers (starters) and rice plates, so if you are not in the mood for ramen, you can order something else. Today’s experience and flavor of the food is a solid 4.5/5.
First time having lunch here. We ordered BBQ chicken and beef. The meet was delicious and very flavor. My Wife and the young one ordered Tonkotsu Ramen and they also enjoy it very much. It is so good I am writing the review while eating. Lol
I have only made 1 visit to Ramen 101. I will definitely be making a lot more. The bowls are a bit pricey. I paid about $15.00 for my chicken ramen, which did not include a drink. (Personally I feel businesses should include drinks with any food purchase over $10.) The bowl was amazing! Very flavorful and more than I could finish in one sitting. The broth comes in different levels of spice. I chose medium. the spicy flavor was exactly a medium flavor. I liked that the chicken was seasoned enough to differentiate the flavors from the chicken and broth, while the broths flavor complimented every bite. The noodles were cooked to perfection. Not too hard or soft. Al dente. the vegetables were fresh and added great flavor to the ramen. My service was basic. which is okay, the restaurant is smaller and modern. Not a traditional Ramen house feel. It's conveniently set up to grab all you need with out a server.
We stopped by for dinner on our way from Tahoe. The restaurant was crowded. If you want to eat at their outside tables you need to order To Go. The ramen was simply amazing from the broth to all the ingredients. The portioning is more than enough. The selection of appetizers was great. We ordered lumping and grilles squid. I would prefer less of sweet sauce over it, but it was delicious.
Wanted to try this place out and so glad we did. We ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen, Agedashi Tofu and Kaki Fry. Everything was delicious. The broth was perfect, not too salty. I chose mild for the heat level and it was just a perfect kick to my broth.
Went to soft opening which opened an hour and a couple minutes after it was supposed to which annoyed and confused some hungry people who were already lined up even earlier. Having the online ordering available on soft opening wasn't a good idea for that reason. They looked nervous and a little under prepared, however, it is a soft opening. I'm sure once they get their groove, things will be fine. Everyone got in a better mood after they got to eating lol. Food was pricey but delicious, especially the Black Garlic Ramen. The Takoyaki was delicious as well as the Chicken Katsu. Hopefully they will add a side of curry dipping or something for the Katsu. I like the numbering system they have on the tables so that your guaranteed a table if you dine in and there's a table available. However, there was only like 7 tables. They should have some more tables outdoors since it's a small place that is bound to get super popular and busy. Maybe 3-6 more tables outside lol. Hope they have condiments like sriracha and napkins next time too. But I get it; soft opening. Imagine a grand opening LOL. Overall, food was yummy and workers were trying their best. Also, I only got 2 (out of 4) food pictures because we started chowing down on everything else lol. Just order online for now until they get more tables if ever, because it's going to get popular and busy 🍜

Very good Ramen for the United States. Pleasantly surprised with the flavor and quality of the pork rib ramen. The service from Milo was excellent. Thank you
The food is absolutely delicious! The only issue that I have consistently had with my take out orders is the forgetting of add-ons to their ramens. I have had multiple orders that are either missing the eggs or the garlic pieces or bamboo shoots etc. Again, delicious food, but I am constantly leery about my order's accuracy when ordering take out.
First day open, looks consistently busy! They are working hard to keep tables clean and getting food out. Not many places to sit, we got our food and good thing we found a table because 2 items were left out, had we gotten all the way home would have been a bummer… the Masubi was Delish!
Had a nice lunch here at a new restaurant in town. I went for a beef and chicken dish, served with rice. Meats were both cooked, prepared well, were tasty, fresh and the rice was delicious. Coworkers both also enjoyed their lunches, and had no complaints. We placed an order to go / pick up, because we had a working lunch session. Didn't get to go see the new restaurant, but heard it was busy and nice. If in the area give them a try, they have a large menu selection, prices were decent, portions we all three received were very generous and food was good. If in the area, stop in, give em try. I will definitely go back and expierience their restaurant, and leave an update then. So until next time, remain safe, healthy, and as always Bon Appetit......
Most restaurants here seem like a deli in the food court, serving international fast food, but they were pretty popular. In fact, we were quite impressed by the quality of Ramen 101. The tonkotsu broth tasted right, though a little too spicy. The seafood ramen wasn't traditional, but it tasted good. So I would say the ramens were in general safe to order. However, the side dishes like agetofu was quite disappointing. It was more like plain fried tofu than the very flavorful tofu in Japanese restaurants. The menu seems to be a mix of Hawaiian and Japanese dishes. Overall, it's a pretty good option for a quick meal.
Today was a Ramen kind of day. We had our dog so we sat outside. They don’t allow dogs inside the restaurant which we understand. When you sit outside, you have to order ‘to-go’. The inside is not big…probably had 12 tables. Service was good and got our orders fairly quickly. We had the Chasu Rice, Tonkatsu Ramen, Black Garlic Ramen and Karaage Chicken. All were good. I’m not a fan of the star anise ingredient which they use in the Karaage Chicken but my family is ok with it. Overall, it’s a good place for Ramen.
It was raining and I just got a haircut nearby. Ramen struck a cord with me when I stepped out of the nearby Sports Clips. Going in, I smelled the Ramen goodness. The place is a bit casual in it's setup. When ordering at the counter, the price is a little on the steep side for a bowl of soup in a casual atmosphere. Otherwise, the service was prompt and Ramen was very good in hitting the spot for something warm and wholesome on a rainy day. I ordered the seafood Ramen with extra bean sprouts. Flavor and texture were there on my expectations, but I think the extra bean sprouts cooled the broth and the soup to a more luke warm temperature. Whoops.
We heard about this place via word of mouth from co-workers and decided to check it out. We were going togo at night but heard they didnt have many tables and sometimes there is a wait for the dinner rush. We waited and went the next day for lunch at 3 p.m. no wait time. Was very good! Portions were good and the broth was very flavorful. Service was excellent. Food came out of the kitchen in a timely manner and the whole family enjoyed it! Will definitely be going back! I want to try some of the Hawaiian dishes
Good ramen. Not authentic Japanese cuisine but it's delicious. The employees are kind. I had the Tonkotsu ramen and shrimo tempura. Both were good choices. If you like spicy, ask for them to make your ramen extra spicy as regular spicy might not be enough. By the way, you have to order and pay at the front counter before sitting down.
Good Ramen for the area, but then again there's not a lot of spots in Vacaville that specialize in Ramen. Ever since I tried Baka Umai in Oregon its really hard to find a place that comes close. My wife and I ordered the Geso fry to start and it was great. Lightly battery, super crispy, and the squid legs were not chewy at all, perfectly cooked. The orange sauce goes well with it. Its the same sauce you would find on any sushi roll, nothing special. We also ordered the chicken Ramen, and the Tonkatsu Ramen and they were good as well. Nothing special to rave about tho. You can get it spicy, but all it is is that they add chilli oil which you can get on the side. Its nothing compared to the Habanero miso mash or Carolina reaper garlic mash that I've tried in other places. Ramen 101 needs more variety of sauces to spice up the ramen. And different dips for the appetizer then I would gladly pay the $13 price per Ramen bowl. Don't get me wrong, I will be back to try their Black garlic Ramen which is supposed to be their staple, but its going to be hard to come back once I've tried everything on the menu.

We tried this place since it was open. The price is high. 14.99 for a tiny bowl of Ramen. I ordered Tonkatsu Ramen medium spicy but there was no spice. We also ordered Chicken Katsu plate and the flavor was off, and half of the meat was hard and super chewy. The Ramen did not taste bad but the quantity was way too small. I've had cheaper Ramen that tasted 2x better with 3x the quantity in Sacramento.
Overall the experience was okay. Ironically I do not recommend the ramen. Was very mid. Barely any flavor. I do however recommend the the BBQ. That was good. (Also. We ordered the ramen with normal spice but they gave us the order with no spice and told us just to throw the chili oil on the table on it and ended it there.)
The food was ok but not as flavorful as other restaurants. The flavor of the broth was good but the meat and the other ingredients no so great.
The service is fairly friendly, but not a big fan of the food here. I came on a Saturday night. It wasn't too crowded and we were able to find seats. It's an order at the cashier and find a seat type of restaurant. I ordered the Tonkatsu Ramen (medium spice), which came out in <5 minutes, but it was bland compared to ones I had in the Bay. The Vegetable Tempura was okay, but nothing to write home about. The seasoning just didn't seem to exist on either of the dishes so I can't say they complemented each other. Overall, I can't say I'd come back since I don't visit Vacaville often. It could just be a miss for tonight.
My first time trying this place. You order at the counter, the employees were patient and very nice. The food came out quick and it was very tasty. I tried their Ramen and the broth was amazing, the noodles were okay and all the extra items inside really complimented the dish. I do want to say that it doesn’t taste authentic it is more like a quick fix if you craving noodle or soup.
Had a craving for ramen again and stopped by. Not a fan. Should have been alert when I was asked how spicy I wanted my tonkotsu. First restaurant to ever offer that option outside a miso or salt ramen. Medium is barely noticeable on an Eastern scale. The tonkotsu ramen broth flavor was watered-down and only warm. I had to take a mouthful of broth to find the hint of pork, or what I'm used too, and it has no thickness to it. Definitely not a thick bone broth. The egg looks right, but the yoke was cold in the middle. Charsiu was pretty good. Fast service, average size portion for America.
Great food (perfect flavor-see pictures of the food we ordered). Fast service. A bit pricey (then $11, now $14-$15… price jacked up after opening approximately 3mos ago and ordered extra broth but male person-maybe or possible owner behind counter charged me for $5… c’mon). Recommendation: -Bring the appetizer first bfor main course. -Need condiments on side of tables. -Need outdoor chairs/tables set up due to space too small inside.

The food came out really fast, but the ramen was not good. It smelled really strong of mushrooms and when I ate the bamboo shoots it turned my stomach fast. The lumpia was really good and it's only redeeming quality. Cashier refunded one of the two ramens we bought.
After spending six years in japan. I can say the Tonkotsu Ramen is not bad, but it's not good. It tastes weird. Everything had a weird undertone flavor I couldn't put my finger on. And at the same time, the weird flavor was overpowering everything. It's really weird. The pork tasted good, but the ramen egg tasted super bad and weird. I had to stop eating it.
I've always been interested in trying this place because it's so popular and I love ramen. The flavors on everything just seemed a bit watered down, not just the ramen...the side dishes as well. The ramen had an extremely bland taste to it, at least it looked nice. I've tasted far better elsewhere and maybe it's because I really enjoy ramen, but I felt like the flavor just wasn't there. I felt like the pricing really just made how plain everything was stand out a lot more, you can enjoy much better ramen at cheaper prices all over Northern California. Severely disappointed we left after paying, could not even finish the food.
It's hard to say whether it's pre-prepared food.. The noodles are very raw, very salty, the pork chops are hard! super disappointing, look at the picture is what we have left…

This was a disappointment. Ordered two ramens: Tonkotsu and Seafood. The taste was not much better than a 50 cent Top Ramen from Walmart. Meat in the ramen was okay, but eggs had blueish tint, not sure why. Reading some good reviews and looking at the photos, this seems like maybe it was an outlier, but we will not be taking chances and skip the next time we're in the area and hungry. The workers were friendly and the place is okay, but I wish the food were better.

Went here today for an easter sunday lunch. We were the first customer. We came inside and the cashier named Sarah doesnt look like she likes her job. Didnt even greet us when we got inside. Didnt even ask us if what are we going to order. To make it short VERY VERY BAD SERVICE! Food was okay. But the SERVICE IS ACTUALLY ZERO! to whoever the manager or the owner is make sure you guys hire or put the right person in front! Or your restaurant will have a bad reviews because of that kind of service
Was not impressed. My veggie tempura was a not crispy at all. I received about 4 onion rings; I've only ever had 2. The mushrooms were rubbery texture.. broth was ok. The Ramen noodles was very disappointing. I probably could have cooked my own at home and tasted better
