This is a little hidden gem. The breakfast is delicious and the burgers as well. There is ample seating inside, small diner. The red chilaquiles are delicious, chorizo burrito was on point and the crepes are delicious.

Don't let the humble appearance of this place fool you. This place is full of small town character and warmth. The food is all comfort food and very appealing. The staff is courteous and attentive. I look forward to many weekend breakfasts in this place.

As a Google Local Guide I find that it's my duty to help people find delicious food especially when it is at reasonable prices. Zig's is my go-to breakfast restaurant in the central San Fernando Valley. The prices are nearly half that of comparable eateries such as Crave Cafe on Ventura. This allows you to leave the waitresses better tips. Typically a large breakfast for two doesn't cost more than $23 + tip vs Crave which will usually be around $40 + tip. The waitresses are friendly and are always willing to get you what you need. The best part about Zig's is that it's a true neighborhood family Diner. Staff remembers repeat customers, even knowing their names and what their favorite meals are. The location isn't the most upscale or well kept but the food makes up for everything. The crepes and breakfast burritos are absolutely delicious. Everything tastes fresh and flavorful.

I love this place I eat here at least once a week since I live so close and love it so much. Everything that I've tried I've loved I definitely recommend a visit. A couple waitresses are a little rude and forgetful but it doesn't take away from the delicious food!

I remember my Dad taking us here after baseball games as a kid. I'm now 40 years old and am working on a house around the corner from Zigs. We've ordered it for lunch every day this week! I just call, they take my order and 15 mins later it's ready for pick-up. My family members are picky and have all kinds of special requests. The ladies at Zigs get it exactly right EVERY SINGLE TIME without fail. The burgers are huge, hand formed, homemade and delicious!! Great fries and breakfast too! The prices are so good, I don't know how they turn a profit. Seriously, legit old-school diner style that never misses. So glad I rediscovered this place. I'll be taking my son here soon to pass the torch. Thanks, Zig's!!

Great portions and very friendly and attentive servers. Great homemade taste. We had breakfast consisting of a country fried steak plate and a Belgian waffle plate. The country fried steak tasted like the best homemade and was above excellent and the Belgian waffle was also above what we would expect, especially at a chain restaurant. Definitely making this a frequent stop for family and friends. Generous portions for the price point just add to the experience.

The food was standard diner fare and it was quite delicious. Staff was wonderful, very attentive and the coffee was hot and tasty. I recommend the eggs with home fries for breakfast. Place is very clean with low seats.

A dive, but inexpensive and really excellent food. Open until about 1330., one table seats 6, so not for large groups. I recommend the rags and pork chops or anything fried.

It feels lived-in in the best way, warm and welcoming, like it’s been holding the neighborhood together for years. And the food absolutely delivers. The cheeseburger was fantastic. Light, perfect bun, super juicy patty, great flavor — it reminded me of a Pie ’n Burger or a classic NYC corner bistro burger. The fries were excellent and hit the spot alongside it. My son loved his Mickey Mouse pancakes, and my husband’s huevos rancheros were hearty and flavorful. No milkshakes. Comfort diner food done right.

This is not a todays review however I still remember how good the food was, as well as the service, friendliness and how cool the place is. And I couldn't find places like this diner if it wasn't for our dear friend Google maps, as I usually tent to check for a new places to try a meal. Long story short now, I went there few times and every time the food was really good and the service was always great. Highly recommend this spot to anyone around, locals or even from other locations to try a meal and enjoy in this old fashion diner, you could either dine in or relax outside the little outdoor table to enjoy the weather. loved it. If I'm ever around I'll definitely have to stop again and try a new dish. Very affordable prices by the way

Zigs! Zigs! Zigs! A staple here in our little community, blocks of homes surrounding it. The food is great honestly, don't think I've ever been disappointed. They use fresh meat for their burgers and boy could you taste it😋. Service can be good or not. This is the reason I didn't give our Zigs a 5 star rating. Providing great customer service needs some work.

Zig's has not changed since Day 1 that I visited. And let me tell you, Day 1 was amazing! My favorite types of dishes there are the breakfast plates. The seating isn't really comfortable but the food makes up for it. Hopefully one day they can fix their seats and benches and then it'd be a 5 star.

What is in the hash brown!? Who knew hash browns could be so tasty; and that's just the begining. Food was great, prices are great, attitudes are great, service is slow but that's not for a lack of trying. Sunday primetime breakfast visit, place was packed and the waitresses were moving as fast as they could.

Like the place but honestly a bit over priced. I'm always reluctant to go because it's to much money. I have spoken to other people about the prices and they completely agreed. By dropping the prices you have more volume so ultimately you make more money. Those people who love the place and can afford after dropping the prices they will become more regulars.

Chili's good, hamburgers are good, kids love the waffles and I had the chili Bowl. It's all good great service friendly waitresses and decent prices. Be careful in the parking lot kind of cramped, but it's all good.

I really want to like Zigs but I've tried twice and I'm just not feeling it. We had dinner there once many years ago - and it was horrible. I can't old that against them though as I've heard there are new owners. So, we tried again and breakfast was pretty blah - but definitely not as bad as the dinner with the previous owners. I've heard the current owners also own Antidote and we really love antidote so maybe we just had an off day. It always looks busy on the weekends so I know others do really like it :)

Seen this place on the movie My Tutor (1983). I've never eaten here but its been around for a long time so they must be good . Maybe I will one day if for some reason I ever go to California. I probably wont though beens its a democratic blue state s--- hole.

The food is good but the service is not some of the lady’s are nice but there was one server that was so rude the table was ready and they told me and my group to sit but then that lady started yelling at us and just gave service with no energy rude and just really badly I don’t know what her name is but she had highlighted hair and piercings.

Went here to try their weekend bbq. We ordered their brisket to go. I felt like it was a little pricey, but the meat itself was ok. Not the best brisket I've ever had. I'd like to come back for their breakfast.

I can't really give a fair review because we happened to arrive at a particularly busy time. Even though we were seated almost immediately and order taken soon after, we saw no food for another 45 minutes at least. I say at least because we had to leave, my elderly father in law simply could not wait any longer. Perhaps they had a staffing problem like do many others lately, but also filling to-go orders at the same time the dining area was nearly full didn't help.

The food is great! They have a large variety menu, so basically whatever you want they have at a cheap price, so a great place to go on a budget. However, the place is dirty and falling apart, literally the roof is caving in. They could use some basic general maintenance and the staff could use some manner school. Pulling out cellphones right in front of customers is not exactly professional. Wouldnt visit again.

I haven't been to this place in like 25 years it used to be pretty good in the eighties but not so much that's not very clean it's not very kept up I had breakfast I should have just made it to come I would have been happier

Eggs Benedict was ok when I had for breakfast but the chili was horrible when I went for dinner. It looked like dog food mixed with beans..and the taste was is what I could imagine what dog food taste like smh.

Decent Food, Terrible Service as of lately. I've been coming here for about a year and a half, I liked it at first, great service, friendly people, good food. But over the past 4 months I've noticed staff changing, Service having a drastic decrease, food becoming less appealing, same friendly customers though. Best advice when coming here: 1. Make sure you check all your food, because there's an 80% chance they forgot something. 2. Although it says it closes at 9pm go at 7pm on weekdays and 6pm on weekends because apparently they're not open at 8/9pm anymore.

Entitled brats think they are owed tips. No one owes you a thing. Earn your money or do without. And don't give good customers attitude. If you're unhappy, keep it to yourself. I don't want to know about it. Fake it 'till you make it!

Place is always dirty. We waited for 30 minutes after we ordered our breakfast. Other people got served before us then I asked the waitress about our food. “We are busy ok, what you want to order”, she said. She took our order but somehow she lost it. I was expecting an apology from the old lady but the situation was escalating. We just left the place avoiding the situation. Customer service skills and cleanliness is missing here.

Very nice old school restaurant. Great service by all the staff. Good food also, and hasn't changed much in 20+ years. Nice selection on the menu and they have outside seating. Small venue with bigger enjoyment. It's hard to find a place left like this in the SFV anymore. EDIT: Lowered rating due to very bad service.Walked in and was ignored by waitress as she was telling stories to customer. When she finally arrived at our table she informed me that they were closed, although OPEN signs were on. She could have notified us as we passed right in front of her but she was infatuated with telling her story. I was very upset but silently left....probably for the last time. Website said they were open until 3 pm and it was only 2 pm. I made change on maps to correct their lack of updating business hours to the correct times. Sadly this place has been declining for years, just look at their ig sign, it’s unreadable now due to decay, much like the service.

The food is delicious, but the place is very disgusting. The owner needs to do something with the seats, everything inside is broke, ripped or dirty. It doesn’t look like a place to eat at all. In the most important thing they have a B in the sanitary enviornment .So the next time think about to go to that place.

This place was excellent the first time the second time was awful the waitresses where in a very bad mood they took our order my wife order a breaded fish dish so she ask for lemon they said sorry we dont have any a few minutes later the give some one limes so i ask can we get some limes since you don't have lemons she said you ask for lemons not limes come on they know limes is the closest substitute for lemon why dont you suggest as a server thats a given instead they showed attitude if a place has a 50/50 on service you should just pass it could be good but it can also be very awful

Waited over 1/2 hr for 3 hamburgers. The milkshake machine was broken as well. The food wasn't worth the wait (very average) and we won't be returning.

Ordered the fish tacos, super fishy and the refried beans were old and congealed with hard lumps. Waitresses could care less, never checked on my table or food. Was unconcerned when I told her my food was uneatable and gross :-(

I showed up at 2:25 (they close at 3), and the woman working there rudely snapped at me that they weren't doing any more to go orders today. I guess over a half hour to prepare a burger and fries isn't enough for them, so factor that in if you want to go here.

Was looking forward to try this place since we live across the street but was nothing but disappointed. They are open during odd hours. Waited over an hour for fried eggs and bacon. Food was not tasty and cold. Asked for bacon to be not too fried but got it crispy still. Served hundreds of to go orders right in front of our face. Silly that they do not have a separate cook for to go orders and separate for customers that come in like every other normal restaurant does. I would understand if it was a huge place but there were barely even 10 tables but they still make everyone make for hours when I could have made this food at home by that time. Fist and last time coming here.

I came to have breakfast, it wasn’t busy at all. after 3rd mug of tea I was trying to explain to waitress that I am little hurry because needed to leave to the hospital where my close relative is i under intensive care, and heard that I can leave if I don’t like something. I was trying to explain that it’s rude to talk to customers like that, so two waitress started just yelling at me. They took picture of me and my minor son, don’t know for what reason… So, if owners reading this, please explain why in your place that is not the cleanest place in town, not in the best place of the town too, so rude waitress? Horrible service. My boyfriend & I were seated for (bfast) we sat at 11am & ordered. It was 11:35 & our food wasn't ready. When we noticed people who got seated after us had their food served. Such a waste of time. Whoever is the OWNER OR MANAGER needs to train their staff properly. When we said something they said we still had to wait. Do not go their. And they had aunts all over the doorstep ugh.
