This is my third time at The Roxy Bar and I don't usually leave reviews, but I had to shout out the manager, Annabelle, for making this most recent experience one to remember. Her coolness and presence completely set the tone. She's so welcoming and personable - you can tell she genuinely loves what she does. I really enjoyed the food, drinks, and music on my previous two visits, but this experience really stood out. Thanks Annabelle and the rest of the staff, you make this place truly special.
Everything is always really fun at the Roxy. I did my birthday there and they were very friendly. Especially the older gentleman with glasses that ran the front of house. I wish I knew his name, but I even gave him a piece of my cake because he was very patient and attentive. It’s my second time & the music is great. I want to go back for the pool table maybe on a week day when it’s a bit less busy.
My experience here was a lot better than I thought. Typically when I go to a bar that's in a hotel, its never usually a "great" experience. I would just go in to have a drink or two to kill time. This time at Roxy, it made me want to stay at the hotel because of the atmosphere. From walking into the door to closing my tab, everyone was very pleasant to talk to. The bartender who served me was very easy to talk to and most importantly made me feel welcomed. My wife and I are planning coming back and spend a night at this hotel! Would definitely recommend!
Although my companions arrived after our reservation time on a Saturday night, Roxy Bar was still able to accommodate us. The live music was great and our server was attentive. For drinks, I stuck with the mocktail menu. The flavors were nice and didn’t leave me longing for a “real” drink. For my entree I ordered the $24 half chicken which, to my surprise, came with no sides. For my side I ordered the kale. I was tempted to order the garlic broccoli, but I was told that it can sometimes be a bit bitter. The food was good, but not amazing, to be honest. I made sure to leave room for dessert, which are various cake options provided by Mia’s, one of my favorite Brooklyn bakeries. My companions and I ordered slices of carrot cake and chocolate cake and they were delicious. Oh, and if you love bread, try their delicious rolls.
Five stars for the music! We've been coming here for years, and while the food can be hit or miss, the live music keeps us coming back. The atmosphere is incredible, with a room that perfectly complements the tunes. We love supporting this place because the musical experience is always top-notch, making every visit memorable.
Last night at the Roxy Hotel, I found a slice of New York's finest. I sidled up to the bar, the kind of place that makes you feel like you’re part of something. Ordered a shrimp cocktail—big, succulent shrimp, cold as a winter’s night, with a cocktail sauce that had the right kick. I was nursing a hangover, trying to take it easy, but the night had other plans. Ice cream followed, a smooth, creamy balm for the soul, and a glass of red wine to wash it down. The wine was robust, full of character, a perfect match for the evening's vibe. The crowd? Pure Manhattan magic. Stylish, upscale, but not pretentious. These were people who knew how to have a good time without making a spectacle of it. Laughter mingled with the low hum of conversation, the sound of glasses meeting in toasts to life and its myriad pleasures. Despite my initial intentions to keep things low-key, the Roxy had me hooked. This wasn’t just another night out; it was a reminder of why we love this city. I’ll be back, no doubt. There's more to explore, more to taste, and more of that intoxicating atmosphere to soak in. The Roxy isn’t just a hotel; it’s a state of mind.
A perfect choice for an elevated but not too snobby evening where you can dress up and chat in a live jazzy music ambiance. No cover charge for the music makes it more casual that a focused jazz performance in The Jango downstairs (where you can't really chat). Cocktails were amazing (especially Lola and Down in Mexico) and the french fries were the best I had in the past year. We stayed past midnight, time really flew by. But the service stayed attentive and very welcoming. Will be surely back.
The ambiance is perfect. You feel like you've been transported back to 1930's-40's NYC. The lounge and dinning area is comfy, service is excellent, and the cuisine is superb. The rooms are clean and the mini bar has everything you need. The room service Hamburger, and Mac and Cheese were fantastic. I will be back.
Came here with friends for after brunch shenanigans from File Gumbo for my friends birthday. We were seated in a booth by the bar. It was lightly packed with a live band in the lobby. Bar was full. We ordered drinks. Waiters were attentive. We had a good time catching up. My drink was the Winter Islands which was good. The house house roll was ordered and the girls liked it.
Very good food and live music was great. The place is beautiful but the services is not good, they are nice just don't take care of you, we waited 20 min at the table before asking to a server if we could order , food was delivered quickly , but no salt no making sure things were ok etc, I would still go another time for the live music but knowing this in advance. We were there at 9pm packed restaurant.
Roxy Bar near Soho is a gem that feels both elegant and spacious. The super comfortable leather sofas invite you to relax and unwind. The highlight is the jazz club in the basement, which adds a perfect touch of sophistication and live entertainment. What else can you ask for? It's an ideal spot for a memorable evening out.
I would give the vibe and atmosphere 5/5. The food is okay. I had to add salt and pepper and some lemon to make my bland avocado egg breakfast a bit tastier! I will go back there again, maybe with friends but I wouldn't be too excited about the food. On weekends they have music which was super fun.
I didn't have a card with myself to pay and sat on the bar to pay by tap. The food, music, everything were great however a bartender was keep asking me after every order if I am done which was disturbing. I paid everything after I ordered, but still after every drink he was disturbing me if I am done.
I’ve been coming here and the Django for nearly 10 years, at one point it was my favorite restaurant but I’m done. You know what’s been most consistent all these years? The staff is always annoyed, in a bad mood, makes us feel like a nuisance even though we’re buying every course, drinks, and being polite. For that unpleasant attitude to be consistent for so many years tells me it’s a management problem. You get bad staff attitude when leadership is toxic. Even though it’s a special place with a great experience otherwise, I enjoy and relax much more at less unique restaurants where the staff is just kind. Last visit a waiter spilled another tables beer all over my legs and coat and ran away as fast as he could without a word so as to not deal with the situation. No one brought anything to help me dry off, someone else came with the mop a while later. They’ve had nearly 10 years to fix this, it’s not going to change.
I visited Roxy Bar on Friday night for dinner with my cousins who were visiting from Switzerland. We were seated around 6:30 PM. At about 7:50 PM, when we were about to order drinks, a tall hostess came to our table and told us we had 10 minutes to leave because there was a reservation at 8:00 PM. This was the first time anyone informed us that our table was time-limited. I told her that we should have been notified when we were seated, not when we were ready to order drinks. Her response was extremely rude: “I said what I said. You must leave the table. We will not serve you drinks because my reserved customers are waiting.” There was no explanation of any policy, no apology, and no attempt to handle the situation professionally. I was embarrassed in front of my guests and shocked by how disrespectful the interaction was. This was one of the rudest experiences I’ve ever had at a restaurant. I will not recommend Roxy Bar to anyone and will not be returning.
Upper management should take a serious look at how guest-facing policies are being enforced at the Roxy Lounge. On Sunday, the hostess on duty communicated in a dismissive and openly rude manner that was entirely inconsistent with the standards one expects from a hotel of this caliber. Most troubling was being told that sober guests were required to commit to a two-drink minimum per person simply to sit in what appeared to be the hotel’s lobby/lounge area. If that is truly the policy, it is poorly conceived. If it is not, then staff are misrepresenting it. Either way, the attitude and delivery were unacceptable and reflected poorly on the brand as a whole. Hospitality is not just about rules, it's about how they are communicated. This interaction failed on both counts. Be better Roxy (and the short black-haired hostess who sparkes this review).
