Best burgers in town! Super friendly staff and the food is delicious. We have had the breakfast wraps, burgers (veggie, pork, and salmon) and yam fries. All were amazing. Organic and made from scratch. Highly recommend Kongs
If you're wanting a burger, def upgrade and get the king kong. I got mine with spicy pork - not spicy (i cannot handle hot cheetos, so trust me on this). my partner got his with chicken. Both were delicious! We also tried their coffee. Mocha was not sweet, caramel was sweet - so whatever is to your liking 😊 fries are fries nothing special. if i didn't live so far, I'd definitely come more often to try the whole menu!
AMAZING food! Came in and got King Kong Burger and the CheeseSteak Sandwich and it did not disappoint. Burger was like a good old fashion on the grill type burger. DELICIOUS
Best burger ever. The tasted is way better than you expect. You may feel the burger different from other hand-made burgers. It is FRESH, not greasy at all. So my advice is that you ask more sauce for better taste. Definitely recommend. So nice and kind people will serve you.
Me and my husband tried their bibimbap and wow absolutely delicious. Owners were lovely very kind and welcoming. We also tried their iced coffee and they were delicious and smooth. We will be returning to try their burgers.
The owner and his wife are super nice! The Spicy Pork King Kong Burger was absolutely amazing. Not only was it made with organic meats and veggies, it was also super fresh. The burger just melts in your mouth. Even the bun was savory and light. The onion rings were crispy and not oily at all. Don’t be deterred by the wait time for your food. If you want fresh, quality, and nicely priced food, just wait an extra minute and you won’t be disappointed. This establishment is a great nan-and-pop shop! They deserve the 5 stars for sure.
First time here and I'm already in love with this place. The service was friendly and welcoming. As the owner went into detail about the menu, I could tell they take pride and put love into what they make here. I ended up ordering a King Kong burger with spicy pork , and I was blown away by the taste of this burger. All fresh ingredients. Tears were shed for sure.
Loved this place! We stopped in after apple picking and I would make the drive again just for Kong's. You know a place is excellent when you can eat a plain burger that is so flavorful, you don't miss the ketchup. 😊. We had the spicy pork BiBM bowl, a plain burger, a Kong beef burger and fries. Delicious! We ate our food so fast that I didn't get to post pictures... but it s yummy looking as well as tasting. The food is truly homemade and fresh! From the spinach to the egg on my bowl to the lettuce on the burger. All fresh!! Plus every element in each dish is well seasoned and not just ingredients tossed together. I really appreciate that spicy meant spicy and the portions were generous. So so glad we went exploring today!
Simple well executed homemade menu that has a lot of love cooked into it! Owner is the strong homie! Love the vegetarian options and can’t wait to go back!
I'm attending Cabrillo and I was looking for somewhere to eat after my classes and I found this place nearby. The food is so delicious, they have burgers, breakfast, and Korean food! It was my first time trying bibimbap and I enjoyed it. They also have vegetarian choices like a tofu burger and my favorite sweet potato burger, which I've never seen anywhere else. Both the shop owners are very kind and polite and they are very friendly. I come here to dine in and do homework often.
Fantastic food and friendly owners! Definitely worth the hype! Breakfast burritos, croissant breakfast sandwich, all burgers, and their Philly are amazing. I’ve basically tried everything! Check them out!
Met the owner on our first time here, he was so friendly and helpful. Went over the menu and told us all about the menu and ingredients, it was awesome. Ordered the hamburgers and the yam fries - everything was tasty, but the yam fries stole the show! Everything hot, made to order, and top notch ingredients. The owner made sure to check on us during the meal as well. Wish every place had this kind of service, very impressive.
This was one of the best spots I've been to in a long time. Very friendly staff, prices were good and the food was phenomenal. I had the cheese steak sandwich and fries, no joke this was probably the best and most unique steak sandwiches I've ever had, very tasty. They have a big drink selection as well.
I recently started coming to Kong Burger for breakfast, The owners are super nice. I get the breakfast wrap burrito with iced coffee, the food is super delicious 10/10, and the coffee is 3.99 for 24oz! Cant not beat the price. Highly recommend trying this place out.
Definitely one the best burgers of my life! Full of flavor and cooked to perfection. If you are in the area and want a burger that will make you cry this is the place! I will definitely be going back for more!
We had the King Kong burger and the BiBimBhap both were delicious. Great meats, super fresh veggies and all house made sauces. The flavors were well balanced. Everything is house made, organic and high quality. Yes, this is the same Kong's you knew and loved in Santa Cruz.
I'm new to the area, trying different restaurants each week. This place has Great food ! Got the King Kong burger great taste. And Also got Philly cheese steak very delicious sandwich. Very customer service friendly there very Nice people. Good experience overall.
It was my first time visiting, and the experience exceeded my expectations. The food was excellent, and I thoroughly enjoyed the meal, particularly the burger I had for lunch. Based on my experience, I would rate the restaurant 10/10 and would definitely dine there again. Of course, opinions may vary, but I personally found the food to be delicious. On my next visit, I look forward to trying their café drinks.
Omg these burgers are soooo good! We stopped here on a whim and so glad we did! They have Bibim Bop too that is really good!. And a Cheese Steak sandwich that it probably the best I have ever had. It's like the burger and steak sandwich have a Korean spin, but that actually makes it better! And the owner that was there said it's made to order, so if are boring and want boring, you can order it how you want. He so roasts his own coffee beans and we got some coffee too. That was also really good. Onion rings were BOSS! Beer battered and really crispy. We are making special trips back for this place FOR SURE! Really good pricing when you consider how much things cost now. Location is easy to get to, but street parking, which we had great luck on a Saturday snagging a spot in front.
This might be the first review I’ve ever written. I love food it’s my love language and as much as I love a good review I don’t tend to leave them. But I have to make an exception here. Kongs burger was my Favorite burger in Santa Cruz and when they shut down 10 years ago I was so bummed. Today I found that they reopened in Watsonville and had to come in. Turns out time changes all things except for the quality and deliciousness of the food at Kongs. From the Breakfast burrito, King Kong burger with spicy pork to the iced coffee you can’t go wrong. So happy to have found this family owned burger joint up and running again. Will be back asap. Enjoy.
Every aspect of going where was phenomenal. The food was great (I had the cheesesteak, my friend had the Kong burger). The food was great, it was twice as cheap as everything else in the area, and the service / environment was great. We couldn't manage to bring the food home because we ended up just gorging and eating it on our way back. I'd fully recommend the spot, and I'll try to hit it up on my way through from now on.
Our first time here, Mr. Ahn gave us a hard time and proceeded to be the utmost gentleman, emphasizing the lack of chemicals and MSG used in his delicious food!! Can't wait to come back, the plaza it's hidden is why we missed it for the last six years. There's always next time for the breakfast rolls and the actual Korean dish, I had the salmon burger and it was so killer that I told him with my mouth full - when he came outside to check on us and how the food was!! The King Kong Burger got a five star rating too!! We got caramel and mocha coffee too, they also matched in deliciousness. Like I said, can't wait to come back for breakfast rolls!! Thanks Mr. Ahn!!! EDIT: Our breakfast roll experience was CHEF'S KISS - I never really inhaled my breakfast before this. It was so difficult to not bite my fingers while enjoying the wraps, we have been missing out on this place so much. I'm so glad we can catch up!!
After a brief hyping up of the food they serve and their prices, I had very high expectations for my beef king kong burger, and my friends potato veggie burger. But they delivered with delicious homemade, and fresh burgers. Juicy patties with fresh veggies and delicious cheese. The fries were nothing special, but could be worse. As far as pricing goes, it is priced reasonably well but once you order fries it’s pretty average for California. No bathroom.
I love this place - food is delicious and fresh with the best ingredients and the owners are so nice. Burger, bibimbop, or breakfast burritos - you can’t go wrong! Their homemade sauces are bomb 💣🔥⚡️ pro tip, get the sweet potato patty on the bibimbop.
Great spot for bibimbap! The homemade kimchi is the bomb. Next time I will probably throw down for extra spicy pork just to make it a bit more filling, but still totally worth it as-is. It is a mom and pop shop, though, so if you're in a hurry it's best to call in your order ahead of time.
The owner was very welcoming and super sweet! All the food is organic and fresh, you can literally taste the quality. Even In n Out doesn't compare to this, it's amazing!! 100/10 you should definitely check this place out at least once in your life. Pic is of the aftermath, we tore those burgers up after the first bite
We had a king Kong burger with spicy pork, steakcheese sandwich and onion rings. The burger was moist, delicious and I could also taste Korean style pork. The sandwich had alot of cheese, yummy!!, and just melted in my mouth. There was a terrace also, so I would come again with my dog♥️
We drive from Santa Cruz to Watsonville just for Kong's. The spicy pork burger and their onion rings are incredible. Beats most American burger places. Bibimbap and kimchi is also amazing if you're in the mood for something lighter.
Perfect spicy pork plate! Great food and prices. Burger and fries were also amazing! Definitely worth a detour :)

The Bibim bahp (made vegan: no egg, fried tofu) is delicious!!!! And affordable! I highly recommend!
Delicious king Kong burger!!! The owner, Mr. Sang and his wife, Ann , is kind and happy to commmunicate.
Mr. Sang's restaurant is a noble and desirable place to be. I tried the breakfast wrap (pretty much a breakfast burrito) with Kimchi. It was so fresh and savory, reminding me of quality, home-made food. It even reminded me of my grandma's cooking! Go visit and talk to the owners, they are very nice people who bring a different spice of life to beautiful Watsonville, CA.
The owner is such a sweet guy, takes a lot of pride in his work and has a good sense of humor. The food was excellent, I had a pork king kong burger and my mom (who is picky) had a beef kong burger with some of the toppings removed. Both were delicious and filling, we also shared some fries which were really delightfully light and crispy. Food came out quickly and was fresh and warm. Literally the best burger in the entire county.
First time here just recently moved here and my coworker was telling me how great these burgers are and I just finished eating and it left such a delightful taste in my taste buds and the owner is so sweet and funny! YOU MUST TRY !!
We had the King Kong beef & pork burgers + fries. Both burgers had a Korean twist to it - it was unique and we really enjoyed it! We scarfed it down in less than 5 minutes…. The meat was tender and fresh, the fries were perfectly cooked and crispy and the owner was super nice. The owner and his wife are the only ones working the restaurant and they do a great job of ensuring the food stays high quality, it gets out in time and customers are satisfied. Overall, so happy we dropped by while we were in town!
The Kong burger is excellent and I enjoyed mine at an outdoor table in the shade, but next time I will get the bibimbop. There was a table of people on their lunch break near me enjoying the healthy, filling, delicious bibimbop meal and raving about it to each other. Quality ingredients, organic and fresh.
I recently tried Kong’s Burger and really liked it. While many burger places are delicious, they often taste quite similar. Kong’s Burger stood out with a more distinct flavor, and the slightly crispy bun (maybe intentional, maybe a bit overcooked) added a nice texture that made the burger more memorable.

First time here. This is the guy that used to owns Kong’s market in Santa Cruz. The owner likes to banter and joke with the customers. So good vibes and always good to support hardworking business owners I got the Philly Cheesesteak. And Onion Rings. This would probably be 4.5/5 stars if the portions where bigger or price was lower. Philly was real good. Very tasty. They might put Mayo on it. So make sure you ask or tell them no Mayo Onion rings for 4.99 you only get about 7 rings. Again real good. I’ll be going back to try some other items and to support cool local businesses

Second visit and I really wanted to like this place. But the burrito was again so greasy- even the tofu one- that I won't return. And honestly not very tasty. Breakfast burrito was off the hook huge. the coffee is amazing. I'm told it's all organic and all 100 percent fresh. The burrito was so big I ate it at home for breakfast for 2 more days! Onion rings exceptionally good.

I recently visited Kong's Burgers, a place that had great reviews online, and I was in the area, so I thought I would give it a shot. Unfortunately, it did not live up to my expectations. The burger I ordered, the King Kong Burger, wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. The staff upsold me to the King Kong Burger, claiming it tastes better with more "good stuff." Feeling adventurous, I went for it. To my dismay, the King Kong Burger was underwhelming, and the hype seemed unmerited. Adding to the disappointment, I received a warm can of Coke Zero when I asked for a cold one. The customer service was lackluster, and the overall experience left me with no desire to return. In conclusion, Kong's Burgers was a letdown, as I expected much more from a place with such rave reviews. The food and service were subpar, and I won't be coming back.

Terrible burgers! Owner sold us a song and a dance about how amazing his burgers are, reviews, newspapers, buys the best meat . . . Burger was so thin it was sad. Funky sauce, brown lettuce and burger is served crushed in foil. Fries were good though. Weird that owner waits for you to take a bite of your burger so you can tell him how great it is. We lied, very awkward
We visited the area and saw that this place was highly rated. We ordered veggie burgers and yam fries. The veggie burgers left a lot to be desired. The veggie patties lacked flavor, texture, and substance. The veggie burger price was incorrect on the menu and we we weren’t told until we asked about it after we paid. At $9 per veggie burger, the quality and size do not reflect the price. We left feeling hungry. The owner was nice and we like to support small businesses, yet hope that the recipe for veggie burgers can improve and that the price can reflect quality and portion.
Review for Kong Burger – Watsonville Visited on June 10, 2025 I decided to try Kong Burger after seeing good reviews online and reasonable prices on their menu. However, when I arrived, the prices were not updated — the burger cost $10.99, fries were $3.99, and a coffee was $5.99 (and it didn't even taste good). I ended up spending over $24 with taxes without getting the quality I expected. The place was dirty, the environment was unpleasant, and there were no restrooms available for customers. The owner kept repeating “best burger, best burger,” but unfortunately, it was far from it. I’ve had better food at lower prices elsewhere. The burger seemed like it had been reheated in a microwave, and the coffee was overpriced and worse than Starbucks. Overall Rating: Ambience: 1/10 Food: 2/10 Coffee: Overpriced and low quality Service: Poor Comfort: No restrooms, uncomfortable to dine in I wouldn’t recommend it.
Avoid that Angry Man at the Kong's cash register, who is an aggressive, relentless bully. He tried to charge $10 to use the bathroom. He tried to charge $10 for a cold drink. When we decided to go elsewhere, he creepily stalked us around the courtyard, to the public bathrooms, and even inside a different cafe in his attempt to intimidate and shame us. Yikes! The Mister and I were on a road trip and needed cold drinks on a hot day and a bathroom break. We stopped at Kong's Burger. Everything looked fine. First, we asked to use the bathroom before ordering. Kong's Angry Man laughed repeatedly and said it would cost $10 to use the bathroom. We thought it was a joke. We said, of course we'd buy cold drinks in thanks, but was there a bathroom for paying customers? He reluctantly gave us a key and warned us that we MUST order "at least $10" in food." We were confused because he was laughing, so we politely assured him that we would order something after freshening up. We discovered public bathrooms at the far end of a common courtyard. These exterior bathrooms service several businesses inside a shared courtyard and are not inside Kong's. When I returned (my man was still inside the bathroom with the key), the Kong's man ordered me to buy >$10 food. I said I could only choose a cold drink for myself because my man was not back yet. The Kong's man demanded that I return the key. I apologized and said my man had the key on him and would return it soon. I chose one bottled drink for myself. He tried to charge me $10 for the bottle, which I thought was ridiculous, but I felt intimidated, so I did nothing and told myself that I would be supporting his local business which is a good thing. When I tried to pay using ApplePay, he was unhappy, demanding cash. I apologized that I didn't have cash. He demanded that I buy more food and drink, that he was going to charge me $10 for that bottle of tea, and that I must pay in cash. I said Sorry, I don't want a drink anymore. That infuriated him. He demanded the key. I said I would go to get it and be right back with it. I walked quickly to the far end of the courtyard, around the corner to the public restrooms. I knocked loudly on the Men's Room and called out for my husband to come out because we needed to return the key, pronto. That Kong's man shadowed me creepily the entire time, trying to scold and shame me. The bathroom area was pretty deserted, so I wanted to return to where other people were present to feel safer. I walked quickly back to Kong's while Angry Man followed me closely, yelling the entire time. He's a big guy. He pointed aggressively at my face and told other people (strangers) that I was "a very bad, terrible person!" I tried mightily but could not get away from him. I told him several times to stop following me around. Other people heard me and looked alarmed. The man continued to tail me, yelling and pointing. I ducked into Conchita's Ice Cream shop to get away. Angry Man entered Conchita's to point at my face and yell some more how I am a terrible person. I asked him to please leave and I retreated further inside Conchita's. Thankfully my man then entered Conchita's. My man returned the key to Angry Man and tried to calm him down. Angry Man yelled at my husband that "Your wife is such a very terrible person, a very bad, bad person." Angry Man wouldn't leave Conchita's and was blocking our exit. I paid Conchita quickly for two sodas (using ApplePay), thanked her, and we quickly left through a side door (thank goodness for side doors). I told Angry Man to expect a bad review on Yelp and Google. So here it is. We routinely tip well. We support local businesses by avoiding national franchises. We had just come from San Juan Bautista where I was charged $5 for a bottle of cold water and didn't blink because it was from a small merchant who was clearly doing his best to stay in business. But that ANGRY MAN at Kong's is totally unacceptable! I've written FORTY-FIVE 5-star reviews and only FOUR 1-star reviews. I love leaving stellar reviews. Bummer!
