Good, friendly service. Enjoyable food and food friendly. We were having a family get together and it was all the special because of the. Wheatsheaf's staff and food.

Stopped by The Wheatsheaf for a bite to eat and had a lovely time. The menu has some great options, and the vibe is spot on. I particularly want to mention Mike who served us. He was brilliant—super helpful and made us feel right at home. Thanks, Mike, for making our lunch so enjoyable!

9 of us had a lovely lunch. Good menu catering for vegans as well as full on carnivores. Dogs are welcome so 2 dogs and hence their whole family were able to join us. Great atmosphere, nice and relaxed for a post Christmas family lunch. Service was a bit slow as they were very busy but we didn't mind as we were happy chatting and it was great not to be rushed. We all hope to meet again at the Wheatsheaf for the next family gathering.

Great stop for a pint and lunch. Many choices on the menu. We had the pork belly, which was excellent! Casear salad, fish and chips, and chicken also good choices. Nice space inside with lots of seating. Plenty of outdoor seating. The servers were very friendly.

Venetia was lovely and friendly. Always attentive throughout our meal. Have had her as a server most times I’ve come to the Wheatsheaf and she never disappoints!

I met the restaurant during the holidays and could not be more satisfied. We arrived without reservation quite late but were immediately greeted with a lot of sympathy. The food was wonderful and the service was amazing. The restaurant has a rustic decor and very welcoming. Toilet perfectly clean. Thank you to the whole team for the excellent experience they provided to me and my family

Found looking for food after visiting Stonehenge. Cozy nice pub. We got Sunday Roast (3 type to choose from) and it was great. Good beer selections too.

We came as a group of 10 for Saturday lunch and had a nice time. The food was good and the service (by Bev) was extremely efficient, friendly and attentive. I shared the beef croquettes (good) and had the chargrilled steak frites with nduja butter. The steak was perfectly cooked medium rare and the nduja butter gave a nice kick. I also shared the apple tart which was delicious.

I absolutely loved the atmosphere, food, and service. The food was phenomenal - I had the nourish salad bowl and I wasn't in the least disappointed. The waitress was super accommodating as well to my vegetarian needs. I highly recommend this gem in the Salisbury countryside.

This is a great place to.hang out with friends families and loved ones. There is ample parking available on site for everyone. The staff are friendly courteous and helpful and smiling too 😄😄. The food is great and the outside seating is a wonderful place. Very green quiet and tranquil with only the sounds of different birds on the distance. This place caters for everyone and anyone. Definitely recommended for anyone who wants to have a great time 👍🌟. Thank you and have a great time.

Service and food was outstanding! Came for a stress free Christmas and that is what we got, Bev was amazing and catered to all our requests! Will be coming back in 2024. Dani handled my booking and she was so patient and helpful, The rest of the staff were amazing too I just unfortunately didn’t get their names but thank you everyone at the Wheatsheaf!

Sam delivered an absolutely sterling experience from start to finish. His service was flawless, attentive without being intrusive, warm, and genuinely welcoming. He struck the perfect balance between professionalism and personality, making us feel completely at ease throughout the evening. The food and drinks he presented were exceptional. Every dish was beautifully described, thoughtfully served, and perfectly timed. His knowledge and enthusiasm truly elevated the meal, and his recommendations were spot on. Thanks to Sam, what could have been just a meal became a very enjoyable and memorable dining experience. He is a real credit to the team, and we look forward to returning soon.

We shared a birthday meal here and were pleasantly surprised by the hand written card and balloons at the table from the staff! Such a thoughtful touch. Food was very tasty, we've also been during the summer and the food was amazing then too with a lovely big garden. A nice atmosphere both times too being mid week.

Lovely atmosphere and the food was amazing. We had a large group that was easily accommodated and every single thing we ordered was truly enjoyed. We tried several items on the menu and everything was fresh and presented beautifully. Will definitely be back if we’re in the area again

Arrived here after a three hour walk on all trails. We were both in need of something sweet and was pleased to find there’s a selection of coffee and cakes and also a desert menu! We ordered Eton Mess and sticky toffee pudding which was hands down the best we’ve ever tried. Impressed by the delicious sweets we decided to stay and have a light late lunch (available Monday to Friday until 5pm) so ordered a smoked salmon sandwich and a pulled mushroom bagel. The atmosphere in the garden was relaxed with some mellow background music and chat. I would thoroughly recommend a visit here. We loved it and will return.

Fabulous visit for Sunday Lunch. Dog Friendly so lovely to be able to get out for a lovely lunch with the dogs in tow. Really well looked after by all the staff especially Suzie. Menu selection really extensive for a Sunday and was cooked beautifully. Was very busy but service was still great and nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely back when we are in the area again.

stopped here for lunch on a cold, rainy day after a visit to Stonehenge. It could not have been more welcoming, cheery, and warm. we had the beef cheeks with potatoes and the mushroom celeriac risotto. Both redone to perfection It seems like all of the crowd is local; or at least not tourists from the states We could not have been more pleased

Awesome pub with an amazing beer garden. Always a welcome break after a hard morning fishing the chalk streams!! Thanks for the bag of wood - we were kept warm over firelight and stories of old.

Finished here after a walk around the area, lovely food, service and lots of tables inside and out, I will be revisiting.

Popped in this afternoon for a drink and a delicious late lunch after a walk at grovely woods. Made to feel so welcome by the lovely staff, I was allowed inside but I preferred the garden where I could stretch out on the lawn in the shade. They even have a jar of biscuits just for us by the front door and sell ice creams to suit our tummies! Tell all your friends and family to get you down to the Wheatsheaf

Came here for lunch after visiting Stonehenge. It is a lovely and charming place! The food and service are incredible. Tasty beers as well.

It is a good size, well decorated pub with a cozy atmosphere and a garden with picnic tables on the grass as well as patio tables. It is about a 10 mins drive from the Stonehenge. The food was quite good. We had whitebait as starters and they were the tiniest white baits we had and fresh tasting. Their burgers (we tried beef and chicken) were very tasty and satisfying, served with fries. They also have a daily menu with interesting sounding food. Beer options were alright and staff kind.

What a delightful little local pub. The service was friendly, and the food was outstanding. Wish we had a bit more time to chill and try other things, but we were crunch for time. One of the best fish and chips I've had.

Haven’t even finished eating yet and giving this place 5 stars. Great service, solid prices, could honestly get away with being a little pricier if they wanted to. As an American, for what’s that’s worth, I’ve not been impressed much here. But this place was awesome. I had the steak frites, my wife had the pork belly. All great. Finished off with the sticky toffee desert and it made me mad that we don’t have it in the US, it was incredible. Beer and wine were great as well. I’ll likely never have a chance to eat here again but I would make it a specific place to eat if I ever do!

Fantastic to find a pub open all day! Tasty food, attentive staff, plenty of parking, dog friendly, what’s not to like! Great place to meet up with family, we had lunch and stayed til early evening, one of our party was dairy intolerant and nothing was too much trouble! Love all the quotes about the place! Highly recommend, thank you a relaxing time.

A family Christmas reunion was the purpose of our visit today. The pub was very busy and service in all areas was extremely slow. This was ok as it gave us time to chat and catch up. However, the food when it did arrive was delicious and of a good temperature. The waitress was pleasant and helpful. Would totally recommend and will visit again.

Tasty food, timely delivered despite a busy Sunday lunch service. Ollie our server was attentive and well informed about the menu. The corner table was a little dark and suffered from reduced atmosphere. Although that made it easy to talk without a high volume of surrounding conversation. Recommended for a return visit.

We went to try the roast as have eaten from the normal weekly menu several times but we're disappointed with the pricing structure. £21 for a meat roast but then you have to pay extra for the veg, extra for toasties, extra for cauliflower cheese. However we had something else from the menu that we hadn't tried before and as usual was delicious. Hubby had fish and chips, great portions and super tasty 8/10. I had a veggie tart with rosemary new potatoes and a side salad. Absolutely delicious but could of done with the salad being slightly bigger as run out before I had finished the other items 9/10. We love the atmosphere and food at the Wheatsheaf.

Very slow service, waited a long time for drinks and food. Sea bass skin was so salt which left a large portion of the risotto salty. All other food for the party was good and they were attentive for our gluten intolerant person.

My burger was ok however it was over cooked and bun burnt so a tad disappointed but my partners pie and his mother’s gluten free tart meals were really nice. Young tall chap very nice and did most of the work whilst lady and I guess the manager just stood at the till chatting most of the time we were there. Had pint of coke asked for no ice which it came with when said about it lady with shaved head and long ponytail gave attitude when stated I asked for no ice or slice, she went away and came back with the drink but wasn’t a full pint so clearly just removed the ice and slice and considering £4.25 for a pint which you don’t actually get is disgusting. For me just a massive shame. Also a 10% automatic service charge is added. No check back if everything was ok.

Haven’t visited for 1.5 years and was disappointed by the bought in food. We had 2 starters 2 mains and 1 glass of wine and it came to £71. The starters were ok but the mains were disappointing. The pie and mash is bought in including the gravy! It was £21.95 when 5 mins down the road you can get a home made pie with fresh mash for £15.95. The fish and chips had thick batter that wasn’t cooked properly close to the fish and the chips were undercooked. Staff were lovely and the manager was very friendly. It was very busy when we arrived and service was fast considering how busy it was. Used to love coming for fresh food but unfortunately won’t be returning food only drinks.

Lovely ambience in the pub with quick service. Served delicious food but the shin beef portion was too small with one potato and two shavings of carrots. Also the bar staff weren't aware that whisky and port can be served hot making us feel that they weren't experienced.

Food was great. The service could of been better though. Offered items like sauces and bread but these never arrived.

The food was lovely 5 🌟 to the chefs. We arrived 20 minutes before we had the table booked, but we had to wait 40 minutes to get our table. And another 40 minutes waiting time for our food . No one came to apologise for the unnecessary waiting, the pub was half emphty at that time. When I asked the manager about the food he replied sorry sorry sorry.( Protocol) I totally understand dog friendly pubs I like animals, but not in the restaurant site. (The whole pub smelled like dog pee.) Unprofessional customer service.

Have been to this pub a good few times and always had a good time and meal, however this one was a real let down. Choose the Christmas lunch starter was nice however the Turkey was a small portion and not very nice at all. The main complaint was were they sat us right in the middle of tables so once it got a little busy you were almost having a conversation with the next table…. These tables are not normally there just making room we’re there isn’t any to get people in. Why to cramped for the size of the pub. What really annoyed us was they just accepted a family with kids that had not all turned up…yet all the other customers were taken to a quilter part of the pub…. Why we not moved… it was then too late to move us as the screaming kids came mid eating. Otherwise we would have moved. We left with out having desserts as both had headache’s from the kids. They then asked for a 10% tip which normally we give them. Very poor as had the opportunity to move us as one of the first people in the pub, when we left after a hour loads of room in the other part of the pub so no excuses hopefully a one off.

We had a very disappointing experience at The Wheatsheaf today. We visited as a family for dinner and ordered four main courses: a steak, a burger, and fish and chips for the children. After 50 minutes of waiting, we still had not received our food. The pub was almost empty, so there was no obvious reason for such a long delay. During this time, the waitress was unwelcoming and inattentive. We politely asked several times how much longer the food would take, but she made no effort to help us or provide any clear information. The lack of service and care completely ruined what was supposed to be a special dinner for my husband’s birthday. We left feeling frustrated and very disappointed. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this pub. The service and overall customer care were far below expectations.

I went here to meet old friends for lunch. Have been several times before and the food was really good. However this time I had the H&W Fish pie, but unfortunately there was far more boiled potatoes in it than fish. I counted four smalI pieces of fish, which cost me over £17, not very good value I'm afraid to say. was very disappointed and left there still hungry as I do not eat potatoes. Not sure about going there again.
