Fool's Errand Alameda Reviews
I have to say the lamb salad came out much better than expected, especially for a local wine bar. The garlic fries were equally delicious and washed it down with a smooth glass of Sauvy B. Will definitely be back for the rotisserie chicken !
Always enjoyed this place! On nice days there’s outdoor seating available. Several big tables good for groups or sharing with small groups. Unique wines to try. Recently introduced a non-alcoholic drink selection and the sparkling rose was one of the best I’ve had. Free popcorn during happy hour.
We had to check out this place that wad formerly known as Mojo. They serve wine and beer as well as food. The inside is covered with wood panels that makes you feel as if you're at an après-ski bar in the Alps. It was mellow when we went. Shared tables is the norm. It also seemed as if it is the place to take a date as we were surrounded by couples giving each other googly eyes and holding hands. We sat towards the front and I did get a whiff of folks smoking in the parklet when the wind was blowing a certain way. Overall it's a great chill place to kick back a few drinks.
Friendly staff, amazing wine list and people. If you are into wine, specially natural, you sould not miss this place

One of the city’s best wine bars. Thoughtful selection from niche European producers, with a staff and owner who make exploring them a joy. Excellent cheese, too
The wines are really good. Some exceptional Rieslings. Go here if you’re a wine lover and connoisseur.
Fun place. Good place to have a glass of wine or a beer before hitting one of the nearby restaurants
Finally found my new go-to spot in NoPa! Fool's Errand is that perfect neighborhood gem where you can geek out over natural wines or sip on local craft beers without any pretense. The wine list is seriously impressive - they've clearly put in the work to curate interesting bottles you won't find at your standard SF wine bar. Major props for keeping a solid rotating tap list too - loved seeing fantastic Bay Area breweries represented. The space hits that sweet spot between cozy and polished - perfect for both date night or catching up with friends. Their snack menu is on point (exactly what you want with good wine and beer), and it's clear they've thought about the pairings. But what really sets this place apart is the staff. These folks know their stuff and are genuinely stoked to chat about what they're pouring. No wine snobbery here - just passionate people who want to help you find something you'll love, whether you're a total newbie or a seasoned wine savant. Honestly, it's refreshing to find a spot that does both wine and beer this well. This is exactly the kind of place that makes me love living in SF - will certainly be a regular moving forward!
A cozy spot! Very comfortable for someone drinking solo, or with a small group of friends. The outdoor seating, facing Divisadero, is perfect for people watching and feeling "connected" even if sitting alone. The chill ambience is nice! Music isn't overly loud, easy to hear conversation.
Stumbled upon this NoPa gem and can't stop raving about it. Fool's Errand nails both the wine and beer game - their carefully curated wine list features some incredible finds, while the rotating taps showcase the best of Bay Area craft brewing. The space is warm, cozy and inviting. What really makes this place special though is the staff - incredibly knowledgeable without any pretense. They'll guide you to your next favorite pour whether you're a total novice or a certified wine nerd. Also, they’re super friendly people who are fun to talk to! The snack menu perfectly complements whatever's in your glass, making it dangerously easy to lose track of time here. This is exactly the kind of neighborhood spot that makes SF's food and drink scene so special. Already added it to my regular rotation!

Visiting from out of town, our host took us here since it is a favorite. It's easy to see why. A reasonable beer selection, interesting wines, and pet friendly outdoor seating were a highlight. There is a dark interior leading to a room with a wine cellar vibe and more drink selections. Service was fine, efficient and friendly enough. . The exterior suggests it's a dive bar, but the experience is better.
Loved having tinned fish as tapas when I visited Portugal, and this is the closest I've found in SF. Their "snack" menu is aptly named, since it's not huge. But, we enjoyed the smoked mushrooms and the mackerel in olive oil. If anything, could have used a little more bread. But, the service was fast, the they have a good beer selection, and I would definitely go back. #localspot #drinkoutside
Cozy wine bar with lots of options. Visited on a Friday night so was pretty busy and took 15 minutes to claim a table. Would visit again, better for date night/small groups

Friendly service, great ambiance, and great selection of local craft beers. Knocked off a star due to overly-expensive prices though ($9-$12 for a pour of beer).
Someone was able to put drinks on my tab, and the bar didn't end up refunding us when we mentioned it. Super disappointing experience and I wouldn't return. A bit overrated and definitely overpriced. Many other better options nearby. Update: The business did contact us after we reached out and refunded our tab. I appreciate them making things right.

I went here on a first date with my same-sex partner. Everything was fine at first (had a lovely bartender that attended to us, she was so nice). After our second drink my date and I ended up kissing and shortly after a staff member told us “alright, that’s enough, boys” and made us feel extremely uncomfortable. This was a first date but it made both of us feel very awkward, uncomfortable, and out of place especially in a city like SF. I felt the bartender’s response was very out of line for a later Saturday afternoon/early evening drink. We were not making our or doing anything a man or woman wouldn’t have done after a successful first date. My date and I spoke about it for many hours after. Noting how uncomfortable we both felt. Queers be aware!
Pretty strange experience here. Upon arriving, I asked a couple simple questions and was met with coldness and a “holier-than-thou” attitude from the guy behind the bar. The place was nearly empty, so it’s not like they were too busy to greet a new customer or even make eye contact, at a minimum. They also charge a 3% “Credit Card Surcharge Fee” which is just lame and borderline offensive for a beer that already costs $10. Lastly, the bathroom (or one of them if there are multiple) is borderline creepy inside.

Owner super rude. I like this place but the owner was there last time I went. I came in with my dog and he tells me dogs aren’t actually allowed. I said no worries, I can go outside to the patio after that get my drink. I go to get my drink and my dog jumps on the bar bc he is friendly and owner freaks out. All the bartenders look so embarrassed. Meanwhile there are two other dogs chilling inside. Thanks for ruining my experience and I won’t be back
Avoid this place. Bartenders are super rude. refusing to serve us at 11pm because they close at midnight.
