Have wanted to learn wheel throwing for years and am so excited we have a studio in Alameda now! As a total beginner, I find this studio to be welcoming, kind, and collegial. It's full of great people doing a wide variety of creative projects, so it's just a fun, aspirational space to be in.

A relaxing and airy studio with beautiful high ceilings / Easy Parking and right near the tunnel for easy access / a great addition to Webster St! Highly recommend, we all had a wonderful class, with 100% of the time spent on the wheel. In one evening everyone was able to make 2 to 3 items , bowls/plates/cups/ or whatever your heart desires! Dave is patient and knowledgeable, you will learn some great techniques. I look forward to going back!

What a beautiful, serene space to be creative. It was my first time and Dave was a patient and calm teacher who gave clear guidance on what to do. It’s hard to believe the shop is on a popular street because once inside, it’s feels like you’re in an art gallery with the high ceilings and airy feel. I’ll be back!

Alameda pots was such a fun experience! As a newbie to pottery, Dave was a fantastic, patient teacher. It is the perfect location right in the middle of downtown Alameda, great for a date night out or a just a relaxing hour away from your cellphone. 10/10

Highly recommend! At first I was nervous because I have zero pottery experience but Dave was so warm and welcoming. He walked us through setting up our stations and gave us a demo on the wheel. Then we all got started with our own clay creations on the wheel. I made 2 bowls that I feel proud of during my first class! It was so relaxing and inspiring to use my hands to create something. The space is bright and airy in an excellent location. Easy parking and good vibes. So happy that Alameda Pots is now open. Such a great addition to Alameda!

Had a great time with my teacher Carmen during a 6 week course. Unfortunately, my work was not ready at the end, as the kiln was clearly backed up. During my last week, the owner insisted I buy a $300 membership just to pick up my work from the course, despite the teacher and studio emails saying otherwise. Was I singled out for a shakedown? Not sure. But I won't be back.
