recently visited La Esquina Del Sabor in Winthrop and honestly had a really comforting and flavorful experience. The restaurant has a warm, casual atmosphere that feels very family-oriented and authentic, with the kind of food that tastes homemade rather than overly commercialized. Colombian cuisine is all about bold flavors, crispy textures, and hearty portions — and this place delivered exactly that. One of the highlights of the meal was the ceviche chicharrón combination. The freshness and acidity of the ceviche balanced perfectly with the crispy, rich pork belly. The contrast of textures made every bite exciting — crunchy, juicy, salty, and refreshing all at once. It felt like comfort food with personality. The plate with plantains, pork, chicken, beans, and rice was incredibly filling and satisfying. The sweet plantains added a soft caramelized flavor that paired beautifully with the savory meats. The pork was crispy and flavorful, while the chicken stayed juicy and well-seasoned. The beans and rice tied everything together in a classic Latin comfort-food way. Portions were generous enough to share, but honestly it was hard to stop eating. Another standout was the triple corn cake meal, which added a delicious traditional touch to the experience. The corn cakes were slightly sweet, soft inside, and comforting alongside the meats and beans. They gave the meal an authentic homemade feeling that made everything even more enjoyable. Overall, La Esquina Del Sabor is a great addition to Winthrop for anyone craving authentic Colombian food with generous portions and comforting flavors. First time to the Esquina. Very much like the set up and decor. The staff were welcoming and friendly. The food was excellent. I ordered a Colombian style picahña and I’m so tasty. The cook got it right. My friend ordered a whole fried fish and it was very good according to him. The menu was easy and simple. Full of flavorful choices. Really cool location with plenty of public parking. Definitely going back. Muchísimas sabores.

La comida estaba espectacular y el servicio muy bien. Todos fueron muy amables. Pero la música estaba en muy alto volumen, mucho ruido. (Hicimos la sugerencia en repetidas ocasiones para hicieron caso omiso). Para la hora del almuerzo deberían poner música más suave y con bajo volumen. Gracias.

Todo está espectacular, desde la decoración hasta el ambiente. El calentado está delicioso y Andrés en la barra me dio un servicio excelente. Definitivamente volveré y lo recomiendo al 100%.

So excited to have Colombian food here in Winthrop! We’ve been ordering take-out from La Esquina in Beachmont for years but it’s a treat to have a nice sit-down version in Winthrop. We made our first visit last night and service was fantastic, the decor of the new space is very pretty and the food was delicious. We started with the Empanadas Parroquiales, which had 4 small chicken empanadas, a perfect starter for our family of 4. The kids shared the smaller Plato Montañero, I had the Pollo con Champiñones, and my husband had the Mondongo soup. Our meals were delicious. I personally think La Esquina serves the tastiest beans of any Colombian restaurant around. Chef’s kiss! We will be back on a Sunday to try the Ajiaco!

The food is always amazing; the picada for two and fried cheese are our favorites. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming.The service is outstanding, especially Angie and Angelina, who are always kind, attentive, and make you feel right at home. This place is amazing. El lugar está muy bonito, grande, espacioso. La atención de los meseros y el personal en general MARAVILLOSO, amabilidad pura! En cuanto al sabor de la comida distó mucho de lo que recordábamos de La Esquina del Sabor de Beachmont pero se entienden que apenas abrieron y se están acomodando. Como comensales apreciamos muchísimo el feedback que el restaurante recibió por parte de nosotros en cuanto a lo que se debe mejorar porque en todo momento nos preguntaron que tal iba todo así que estoy segura que las recomendaciones serán tenidas en cuenta.

When I called to ask why, I was told you were too busy—which I completely understand. However, while I was in the middle of translating the conversation for my mom, the staff member hung up on me before I was finished speaking. That felt extremely rude and dismissive. I wasn’t being difficult—I just wanted clarification. Being hung up on mid-conversation is not okay, especially when I was still actively engaged in the call. This also isn’t the first time I’ve experienced an attitude issue here, which makes this situation more frustrating. I want to emphasize that I really do love the food, which is why this is so disappointing. I hope this feedback is taken seriously, because customer service like this takes away from an otherwise great place. Thank you for your time.

Quisiera expresar mi inconformidad respecto a mi visita reciente a su restaurante. Pedí una mazamorra, y al recibirla noté que tenía muchísima leche y muy poco maíz. Amablemente le pedí a la mesera si sería posible agregar más maíz, pero la respuesta fue poco profesional: me dijo que la única solución era pedir otra mazamorra pequeña, lo cual considero injusto, ya que el error no fue mío sino de quien preparó el plato. Además, me parece inapropiado que la propina del 20% ya estuviera incluida automáticamente, considerando que el servicio no cumplió con lo esperado. Espero que tomen en cuenta esta situación para mejorar la calidad de la comida y la atención al cliente, y que se considere una solución justa para los clientes que enfrentan este tipo de inconvenientes.

Pésima muy mala atención pide una cosa y le salen con otra cosa y otro precio y fuera de eso se enojan y toman por charla siempre compro allá pero lo de hoy se pasaron pedí esto dos churrascos marinado uno well done y otro medium rare y me dice que mi orden cuesta 55 y cuando. Me retiro profundamente triste y decepcionada por la experiencia vivida en este restaurante. Asistí con mi pareja con la intención de disfrutar una buena comida, pero lamentablemente el servicio fue el peor que hemos recibido. Desde el inicio no sentimos atención ni prioridad. La mesera tardó considerablemente en tomar nuestra orden de bebidas y, posteriormente, nunca regresó para tomar nuestra orden de comida. La dueña del restaurante, quien se encontraba en el lugar, notó que no habíamos sido atendidos y finalmente tomó nuestra orden. Nuestro pedido era sencillo: una sopa del día y una bandeja paisa. Sin embargo, el tiempo de espera fue excesivo e inaceptable. Una mesa ubicada frente a nosotros llegó después de que ya habíamos ordenado las bebidas y, transcurridos aproximadamente 45 minutos, ya se encontraban recibiendo el postre. Fue en ese momento cuando decidí llamar a la misma persona que nos tomó el pedido para preguntar si nuestra orden realmente iba a salir. Su respuesta fue que “iba a revisar”. La actitud fue poco empática y nada amable. Cinco minutos después llegó la comida, pero en ningún momento recibimos una disculpa. Ese fue el punto que más indignación nos generó. Después de esperar más de 45 minutos por un pedido sencillo, lo mínimo que uno espera es una explicación y una disculpa sincera. En lugar de eso, percibimos una actitud fría y poco profesional. Al final, la mesera se disculpó argumentando que quien nos tomó la orden era la dueña y la misma había olvidado ingresar la orden. Sin embargo, independientemente de quién haya cometido el error, esa no es la manera adecuada de manejar una situación con los clientes. La falta de responsabilidad, empatía y trato cordial fue lo que realmente arruinó nuestra experiencia. Esperábamos un momento agradable, pero nos llevamos una gran decepción.

Buenas tardes, salgo muy triste, frustrado y sin sabor de la esquima del sabor hoy en el dia de San Valentin cuando deberia ser todo lo contrario. Ordene un churrasco y me llegó una carne en pedazos parecia lomo saltado,Le pregunte a la mesera que creo que era la manager y me dice que asi se veia mas bonito el plato y oh sorpresa,cuando fui a pagar fue excesivamente costoso para un menu en promedio de 30 a 40 Dolares, muy triste con esto. Primera y ultima vez voy a este restaurante

Decidí darle al restaurante una segunda oportunidad, la ultima vez que había estado en el viejo local de Beachman mi experiencia no había sido buena (me sirvieron una paella sin arroz). Fui al local rápidamente me sentaron, y a partir de ese momento ningún integrante del staff se presento a la mesa a atenderme (ofrecerme el menu, tomar mi pedido o al menos decirme "perdón señor por la demora pero estamos ocupados" ). Fue a los 25 minutos de espera que decidimos retirarnos, nadie se entero que lo hicimos. En verdad pésima experiencia, sin ningún tipo de dudas que no volveré.

No soy de hacer este tipo de comentarios, pero paso por la pena de comentarles que pague el 20 % en propina obligada, porque ni me preguntaron cuanto les podía dejar, me costó más la propina que un jugo qué me costó 4 dolares y era más agua que jugo. Osea que si llevas solo lo de comer no vallas porque te sale más caro el caldo qué los huevos . Pague 15 dolares de propina . Malo

the food takes a long time to come out

Walked into restaurant to place a take out order with my 9 and 5 year old. Asked for menu.. Instead of standing in middle of the restaurant I went to grab a seat at bar to sit my 5 year old onto, while I looked at menu just for a few minutes. Bar was empty. Out of 6 seats only one was occupied. I grabbed only 1 stool just for daughter. Was told by bar-tender, who spoke no English that was against the law. I was going to try and tell him just for a few moments and that I had done on quite a few occasions at many USA establishments, but I saw he spoke no English. So would have been pointless. Would have walked right out but had promised wife I would try the place. While standing I asked the waitress a quick question about menu, but she told me to wait while she went by me while not carrying one item in her hands. Will never go back. Ever. Felt went out of way to be rude. Upset I was foolish enough to give them my business when they obviously didn’t want it. The other waitress who took my to go order, not the exceptionally rude one, was polite and did her job well.
