SoDam Albans Reviews
Very good customer service and food. Very children friendly had a few spills but customer service was amazing. Will go back many times when craving korean food, enjoyed my time here thank you!!
This place is easily one of my favorite restaurants and a 5 star location. I would rate it higher if I could. I ordered the loaded fries and they offered a huge portion for an amazing price. The food was very flavorful, and might have made one of my new favorite foods. I would love to come back here again. There is great service and the staff are super nice. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a nice, calm place to dine in and I can’t wait to come back!
My planned choice for the day was closed so I walked West on Northern until Sodam got my attention. Again, I've only been to a few Korean places and wanted to experiment more with this cuisine. The waiter spoke English and was welcoming. To get his attention, press the button on the table. I ordered Makguksu, cold buckwheat noodles in sweet broth. The meal came with the typical sides such as kimchi. I found the meal tasty and chewy. In fact, I drank all the broth after I finished the noodles. I plan to return.
Brought the family here for lunch and was pleasantly surprised of how delicious the food was. Staff was super nice and seated us 3 minutes before they officially opened. What I highly recommend are: Toppokki Skillet (Toppokki, cheese, kimchi fried rice), Dak Gangjeong (sweet and slightly spicy chicken), and the Sodam Chicken in soy garlic. Everything was really good and hit the spot! Will definitely be back.
BIG SHOUT OUT to this place. The service is the best! I forgot my important belonging and didn't even notice until a whole day and a half after; went back for it and even with no way of contacting me, the staff kept it safe and sound until I came to claim it. Thank you; by the way the food is also delicious. Generous portions good for sharing amongst a few people as well. Many soju flavors, atmosphere is positive and inviting for a meal with friends or family :)
i’ve been going here since i was a freshman in high school. i’m a sophomore in college now. this place still slaps. I usually get the kimchi fries, but recent when i went i got their cheese skillet and cheese corn. everything they make slays so there’s no complaint on the food. i think they were a little not that happy with the fact that me and my friend were sitting there for nearly two hours because we were yapping, but that’s on us. we were just catching up on life.
Came here late on a Monday night and it was nice and quiet. We started with the deep fried dumplings, loaded fries, and the seafood pancake. The seafood pancake is one of the best I've ever had. It was so crispy on the outside and perfectly cooked on the inside. It was fried to perfection. For entrees, we shared the makguksu, seafood soondubu, stir-fried pork rice skillet, and the yukgaejang. They were all so good especially the yukgaejang. However, we did not really enjoy the pork rice skillet. The pork was good but the kimchi rice was kind of sweet. It almost tasted like charred ketchup. The service was really nice too. Our server was attentive and kind. She brought us extra water, napkins, and refilled our bonchans. Highly recommend this place!
Here’s a refined version of your review: I had an amazing dinner at this Korean restaurant! They offer a wonderful mix of authentic Korean street food and traditional dishes, including some unique skillet dishes that I haven’t even seen in Korea—truly a delightful surprise. The overall experience was fantastic, with excellent service and delicious kimchi side dishes that they generously replenish. If you visit, definitely try the spicy beef ribs. We didn’t get a chance to try them this time, but the staff highly recommended them as a must-have new item. We’ll be back for sure, and I can’t wait to give it a try!
Good ribs, plenty of flavor. The chicken was burn your mouth hot so be careful. The chicken flavors are more muted compared to some other kfc, but the texture was very good. The skillet was pretty good as well. Overall great food but if you're going exclusively for the kfc shoot for the coop.
My friends wanted to come here for dinner so I went to try. We started off ordering their honey garlic chicken wing. They make very delicious wings here. The portion of the food are big and filling. Everything is good here except that when it was hot they didn't turn on the AC until near the end when someone mentioned it. It's spacious inside and with outdoor seatings as well with some lights. Coming here was a 15 minutes drive from Tangram Mall in Flushing. And around this area there's also an H Mart and other interesting stores around. This was my first time here and I did enjoy it overall with all the food. What we ordered: 씨크릿 스킬렛 secret skillet 해물파전 hamul pajeon 김치콘치즈 kimchi corn cheese 떡볶이파스타 dduckbokki pasta 닭강정 dak gangjeong marinated 치킨데리야끼 볶음밥 chkn teriyaki fried rice 월남쌀국수 pho 삼계탕 samgyetang
Pretty average Korean street food. The kimchi + cheese fried rice skillet and cheese fries were both good. Nothing spectacular nor was it a good deal in terms of pricing. It was a bit more expensive than I expected but not crazy. The location is convenient as there is a parking lot nearby. I wouldn’t go out of my way to come eat here but if I was in the area and wanted something easy and relatively quick, I would come back here. There’s so many good choices in the area that this place just doesn’t stand out.
Tasty Korean restaurant with delicious bowls. We came as a party of 5 and ordered 3 bowls as well as some sides. The rice bowls are not as large as it seem on the menu but will be quite enough if you don’t wish to take in too much carbs. The secret skillet is definitely their signature and worth a try. The eggs around the rice taste like cheese and when you mix them with the rice it’s amazing. Another recommendation is the beef bowl which is the stewed short ribs in Korean style. Beefs are tender and sweet which are great. However they don’t have much to offer for the spicy foods even with labels of three chili, and I guess that’s because they’ve customized to show the good taste of the food. Service is great but the wait time for dishes are long and we were hungry. Generally a 4/5.
Dinner on a Saturday night, I expected it to be busy. Sodam offers the usual Korean fare, fried chicken or tossed in their sauces, and the like. Service was great. They have a call button on each table to make it easier to order. We ordered their Sodam chicken wings, the secret skillet, and some fries. The menu is pretty pricey but they are larger portions.
Food is decent and services are nice. Good hangout place or for late night snack. Beer selections are limited. We had a good time. The wings are crispy, juicy and big with nice fragrant, but the breading are a little think. Although foods are decent, they don't stand out to get four stars in this neighborhood. Sorry
