Thai Tai Eatery Albans Reviews
My husband and I went for the first time the other week. The atmosphere was cozy and not overbearing, the decoration had a nice "flow" about it. The place was calm. The waiter was attentive and kind. Our food arrived fast and was quite delicious. I'm not sure, but I think I detected a bit of maple in my tea to sweeten it (yum!). I regret I did not have room for dessert after! Our food was well priced for the portions as well.
It was packed on a Thursday night. There was only one girl seating guests, taking to-go phone calls, and waitressing all by herself but she was so professional, calm and kindhearted. The food was delicious, we took it back to our hotel and scarfed it up. We got the pad see ew for $16.95 and the green curry for $15.95. I believe the girl’s name was Mallory… if you see her tell her she’s the best!
Always amazing. 5 stars for food and service. If I could give more, I would. The staff is humble and warm and the food is always consistently delicious. They never skip a beat when it comes to flavor, spice, and aesthetic. I couldn't praise this establishment any more. They get all of my respect
Great food. Vegan options! Amazing service! Lots of choices and full of flavor.
Small, but clean, with background music that is actually in the *background* so that you can hold a conversation without shouting. Pad Thai was solidly good, but the Honey Duck was fantastic! We live almost two hours away and we'll be making the drive back just to have the Honey Duck. Other reviewers complained about the lack of heat in the spicing, but I appreciate being able to taste my food without it hurting. Then again, I don't order the dishes that are labeled spicy and appreciate the "mild" dishes actually being mild! Service was prompt, attentive and professional.
Really tasty food at sensible prices. The menu is extensive enough to be interesting, but short enough not to be overwhelming.
I have dined at this epic family establishment since they moved to this location in the late 2000's(i think?). Only now have I had the ability to frequent there weekly, as I am employed nearby. Always 5 stars. I've never had an issue, only a fantastic experience. Same with everyone whom knows good food in town. Allow them to adjust spice from 1 to 5 stars perfectly. Inquire about vegetarian options. Their tofu offerings are supreme. I base most curries of theirs. Duck salad if your having a bad day, you won't regret it.
Food was really great - I'm from the greater Boston area and the food here was so much better than the thai food I've gotten around me as of late. Several dishes can be made vegan/vegetarian upon request which was great as my family has dietary restrictions! Definitely stop by if you are in the area!
The food was amazing. The garlic pepper was nice and moist, the vegetables had a nice crunch and the rice was amazing. The server was amazing and so sweet, having small conversations with her was amazing. The mango sticky rice was not too sweet but nice and sticky, the fried banana was delicious as well. 10/10 would come back.
We've eaten there several times. Excellent Thai food. I particularly like the duck special. Good service. Reasonably priced. BYOB. In the restaurant description it says: "Health & safety: Staff required to disinfect surfaces between visits." I strongly doubt that the staff disinfects the tables between diners. They all feel slightly greasy to the touch. Probably fine.
The food is always good. I don't like many fish dishes but the crispy cashew red snapper was amazing! I will definitely be getting this again. The prawn rolls are so good with the sliver of ginger and fresh flavors not hidden under a quarter pound of batter. I absolutely love this place!
The food here is amazing - so flavorful! We tried several dishes including the calimari, Tom Yum soup with shrimp and Honey Duck and were delighted with all of our choices. Even though it's a 50+ mile drive one-way, we will be making that drive happily. Service was efficient and courteous. Exceptional value for price paid.
We've been coming here for years and I wish they would change up the menu. Never anything different. The duck is always delicious, but the house fried rice has changed flavors this past year.
The dining area is cozy and clean. We were seated quickly. The Pad See Ew tasted slightly burned. Pad Thai was sweeter than expected. The seasoning on both dishes was light and not hot at all. Usually a good Thai place brings the heat, at this restaurant you won't have anything spicy unless you request it.
We expect Thai food to be full of flavour- it does not have to be hot but aromatic and interesting - the food we had at the the Thai House did not deliver on either. Bland and salty gravy on the noodles was … also sweet? Would not recommend if you have experienced diverse Thai food.
No taste, pork, cold, tough and like eating cardboard. I ordered #22, it has 2 red peppers 🌶️ 🌶️ indicating very spicy. Not only that it was not spicy at all it had no taste. I told the man server, he said he will not charge me for my meal. The old lady came with my bill and charged me. She likes to argue with customers. My wife’s food was not only tasteless but had a foul smell and tasted weird. Service, 1/10. Food 0/10. Attitude 0/10. Don’t wast your 👎🏼 money. St. Albans has much better food, even Ave Hardware has better snack food. The spring rolls were cooked in very very old oil. Don’t waste your time, health or money. G
How did this restaurant get a Tripadvisor award?!? This is the WORST, I mean WORST Thai food I have ever eaten. It takes a lot for me to give a bad review, but I had to in this case. The people giving a five stars must never have eaten Thai Food. If you have eaten good Thai food is for yourself a favor, stay away from this restaurant! The service was terrible. Ordered the Paradise Fish which was supposed to be a Whole Fish. When I questioned the fish, the older lady told me she took out the head and bones. I didn’t ask you to do that, I know what I’m getting into ordering a whole fish. I was given a fillet! (See picture). If you don’t have a whole fish, just say it and I will order something else. Don’t charge me $18.95 for a fillet. With all the terrible tasting cucumbers, tomatoes and onions on the fish, the fish was cold!! Also ordered spicy drunken noodles with tofu, oh was it as terrible as the fish. Not sure what was claimed to be tofu. Their customer service was terrible, I repeat terrible! When I questioned the food, the older lady started speaking to the young lady by the register, I asked her to stop talking about me because I’m questioning the food I just paid for. Don’t waste your money.
