Irie Vybez Albany Reviews
IRIE VYBEZ makes food that reminds you of a sunny day at the beach in the Caribbean filled with laughter and a full belly OR a holiday filled with family love and celebration!! The authentic flavors of each meal, served hot and filled with island love adds to the experience. The best Caribbean Food in the Albany area! I had the jerk chicken meal with rice and peace, also the macaroni and cheese, fall off the bone oxtail plate, etc. Every meal was perfect! I high recommend! 10 out of 10! Great place for food for a family or catered event.
Natisha was great, the food and service was good, we highly recommend this place especially if you’re staying at the Flamboyan!
I wish I had taken a picture. The food was beautiful and tasted amazing
This breakfast is absolutely delicious. I got the liver with yams, sweet plantain and green plantain with extra gravy. It comes with dumplings too. Total cost $8.64 and enough food for 2 adults or 3 small children. The Liver Breakfast is only available on the weekends. Budget friendly meal.
This is the second time I’ve used Irie Vybez for special occasions. The first time was in 2018 for my daughter’s high school graduation, and once again in 2026 for my daughter‘s 21st birthday. Overall, the food was very good. I had no problems placing the order, and when it came time to pick up, it was a smooth process. During the second event, several people at the celebration inquired about where the food was made. Overall, I had a wonderful experience with Irie Vybez.Vybez.
I had their curry goat. Perfectly cooked. Not perfectly seasoned. Lots of people have compared this to authentic Jamaican food but Jamaica has much more seasoning. I'd buy it as a quick bite but not a craving. Lacks the expected flavors but the actual cook of the food was great.
Visited on two different weekends. The place is very dirty and needs a team to properly clean it up and paint it. The food is decent however the rice was stuck together and not the usual long grain texture that Jamaican restaurants serve. Both times I visited they were completely out of Oxtails and it was 7:00 in the evening. I got the pepper steak with rice n peas and cabbage with a side of plantains and I can only give it 3 stars because of the rice. This place is very overrated.
When I first tasted the food it was really good. Now the rice and peas is always somewhat soggy, too much water, and the food is more spicy than flavorful. One time we ordered on Door Dash/Uber Eats I cant remember which one, but they sent the wrong item, and when we called the young lady that answered was very nasty, and adamant it was our fault and our loss, luckily the App gave us our money back. I say this to say it can still do better towards the future!
Terrible Service. Place closes at 9pm placed an order online which stated they were still open to take orders for a few more moments. They ran out of they type of meat I wanted totally the restaurants issue and instead of contacting me to inquire whether I’d like a different plate of food since they no longer had the type of meal I ordered they decided to cancel my order. Keep in mind if says online contact me I didn’t opt for a refund. Then when I contacted the establishment the person who answered was so nonchalant when I asked why was my order cancelled. Lacking proper customer service and etiquette skills, just showed up to get a paycheck that’s it. I am disappointed and dissatisfied with the service simply put. Then to tell a customer you’re sorry you guys didn’t think to call because your establishment is busy. So customers aren’t what makes the establishment busy? Please make it make sense. You need customers in order to run a business. Please get proper customer service employees.
The food is never the same. It's like they have 365 chefs cooking with with different recipes. And man, someone really need to teach them how to cook rice.
This is usually a great spot for Jamaican food. Not sure what’s going on in the kitchen today but when I ordered a large peppered steak w/rice & peas and plantains, I got some ish which was definitely NOT steak. Can’t trust their food (steak) anymore and neither should you. Unless you want to dine in.
Food was disgusting mac and cheese lack flavor and it was dry hard and not cheesy at all cabbage was even worst hot and sweat with a overwhelming taste of sugar and spicy chicken was dry and rubbery plantain where hard as card board over all waste of money im surprise they are in bussines would not reco eating here its definitely jamarican food nasty
the worst, dont go there, that lady said it was 1 off experience meaning the rice was uncooked and the chicken was not tasty so she said it was a one off experience, i disagree , just under cook food and service was not good, also 1st time eating there, never will go back,,,,run dont walk when you see irie not a vibe
“Seasoned with what? Regret?” Pulled up expecting flavor, left wondering if my taste buds were broken. Spoiler: they weren’t. The food just didn’t hit!
Review as a delivery driver. Staff can be incredibly rude. As well they will hand out orders without checking causing them to regularly give the wrong orders or just not have your order to pick up and refuse to remake it. They don't answer their phones and they refuse to take accountability for issues when you have doordash, Uber, GrubHub, etc. Reach out to them causing you to loose money and time. If a place isn't equipped for delivery, they should not offer it
ordered online & the food was terrible, rice n peas so bland.. the jerk chicken was dry Mac & cheese was too crispy on top and oily… disappointed
For my personal experience this is not a place I plan to return. Prices posted on menu not accurate food not all the good not enough flavor and coco should be served warm not right out that bag. Out of Scale of 1-10 I’d rate it a 3
Rasta pasta was the worst I tasted n my life she literally put chicken bones n there wasn’t season and I give them extra time to cook since they make u wait Hotspot might not give u as much food but it’s going hit every time .I order 3x here this week CANT believe they didn’t get this right
Got the stew chicken aka "Dry chicken legs" lunch special which doesn't come with rice n peas huhhh! The white rice was mushy like paste and taste like it as well. The chicken was dry with no stew to it or gravy just oil with no flavor. I can say there is no Irie in this dish and the Vybez I'm getting is to not go back..
