Oh Bar on Lark Albany Reviews
My kind of place! Everyone is happy they are there. Bartender takes care of you. What more does one need?

The only reason I ever come to OH bar is to see the most fabulous JOSH! He is by far the most attentive, courteous, kind bartender I have encountered! #joshisthebest
Great Atmosphere! Great Drinks! A crowd that can stimulate whatever your mood maybe ... or change it if necessary 😉. An absolute face!
The atmosphere here is amazing. I love this place. Open until 4, that's a dream. Only place in Albany that's open late with great service. Kyle, the bartender, lightning quick. It's like Usain Bolt served me a drink. Great guy to talk to too. Always bring the energy and love. I have 3 homes. My college apartment, my actual home with my parents, and Oh Bar. All the bartenders are amazing. Closets thing to perfection in Albany.
Safe place. You tell what you need and don't worry. It doesn't matter who you or the servers are. You are safe. This is the best spot I found for literally no questions asked, this is the, if you need something this is where you need, you go, I have ever found. The owners should be proud of the environment of safety that there is here
Never went into this bar ,and just rebuilt a bar on lark . But I'd like to say as I was driving by had some young girls yell to me some ridiculous comments that where standing in front smoking . Gave the bar 5stars to respect what I've heard about on news . But might be a good idea to have some security outside like bombers does to control the people . If your a patron at a bar would be nice to show some class . No opinion about the bar itself .
Great little place! Really friendly staff and good drinks. They've got a pool table and free popcorn and usually aren't too packed. Good option for a mellow night out (although it can get packed towards the end of the week).
Every bartender is chill, good music, great drinks, lovely patio space! Open in the afternoon so I have somewhere to chill and have a drink outside, open late nights so I can dance, sing, and party. Pool table and darts as a bonus. A staple on Lark street for sure!
I have only just started going to OH Bar, after hearing good things about it for many years. I cannot recommend a more safe environment for all types of people to have a few drinks, and a good time. The Bartenders are excellent and I look forward to going back!

I came on Sat night. It was hopping after 1 AM. Mixed crowd. Bartenders were cool. Fun place. No popcorn is 4 stars haha.
Much love for Oh Bar. It's a mid-sized gay bar that hosts events like karaoke, trivia, etc. Not a dance place, just a spot to get a decent drink, hang out, and maybe play pool. In summer their patio in back is nice. Folks are welcoming there and the bartenders work to keep it a safe space. I've seen folks too drunk/rowdy/harassing be asked to leave. On weekends it gets pretty packed, but has more of an older crowded than Rocks or Waterworks which are more dance spots with college students packed in

I'm sad to give this kind of review for an otherwise interesting fun bar, the guy who works Tuesdays and Sundays I guess was already tense and keyed up about something, he seemed ok serving and tried to be pleasant at first but I can only guess it had been a bad day for him already because noticing a beer sitting for quite a while, I knew if I tasted it, knowing I was of course planning to make all reparations, the beer was likely to be dull and flat after sitting there all that time, which it was, at this point wanting to replace it with a fresh cold beer if or when the patron who left it there came back. I offered to buy a fresh cold beer for whoever left it there and pay for everything else beside planning to stay longer purchasing more for myself; I rarely see the habit in a bartender to not only take his apparent misery out on a customer but refuse purchases, but the bartender refused my money and let rip with one of the worst, nasty tirades I have ever been unfortunate to be at the receiving end of as a customer. I feel bad for the guy cause we all have bad days and I sympathize with him in that respect; stress gets to all of us sometimes and I hope whatever it was gets better for him, but to take it out on me and refuse my spending more money has unfortunately left me with really nasty memory for the bar and I will probably spend my money elsewhere. I hope no one else ever finds themselves at the other end of such an unpleasant experience. Please don't not go there because of my experience, otherwise it is a fun place and interesting patrons. I say it is worth a try for you, Maybe just be aware of the mood of the bartender and tread lightly.

Jukebox was paused. Was told if I tipped well they'd play me a song through their phone. Bouncer told me I couldn't bring water outside while she was drinking a White claw

This bartender (pictured) is absolutely trashy and a piss poor crew member. Walked into this dead bar with my friend (black females) before another patron, bartender left from behind the bar, came back and chose to service the person that walked in before us (a white gentleman). The bartender had a poor attitude and would not meet us where we’re at, near the end of the bar where there was space for us to stand and place our order. In the 45 seconds we were in there I’ve never gotten so pissed off so quickly before. Realistically their drinks are hit or miss and not that great. All the bartenders there lack consistency across the board when it comes to making simple cocktails.

Manager was beyond rude !!!! Bouncer said my ID was fake and began bending my ID instead of using the proper tools to look up my ID to see that it is INDEED REAL!!!! I let the manager know and he kicks me out because his bouncer cant do his actual job! I travel all over the US and other countries due to my job and never received this type of customer service!!! If you're so concerned about fake ID's then invest in ID scanners for your establishment instead of hiring ignorant bouncers who have never been outside of Albany !
Extremely overpriced!!!! The drinks were weak and very expensive! Sad that greedy owners push customers away. This was an amazing place year's ago. Sad Sad
Friday 11/12/21. New bartender with the collar is a complete jack#€^. I hope he eventually ends up happy with life and pours correctly with a smile. Zero stars! He openly makes fun of guests and thinks we all owe him for his presence. His taller Partner in crime isn’t much better, condoning his awful behavior and laughing with him. The shorter guy with the cool haircut is welcoming, faster and he smiles. Thanks for saving my night bruh. 😎
"Big Will" the bouncer said I needed to give him a hug before I went in. I am completely disgusted and I will not be returning to OH bar. Me and my girlfriend felt violated and my girlfriend said she doesn't feel comfortable hugging people in exchange for getting in a bar.
Went to Oh! Bar while in Albany. As I attempted to go in there was a guy being dragged out throwing up drunk. The worker and said person’s friend were arguing with each other. Went in and to the bar. Waited for several minutes before a bar tender even showed up and then was ignored and passed over several times. Don’t know if I’ll try again or not. Disappointed since this was my first LGBT business experience in the city.
This place is a complete dump. It’s dirty and the liquor selection is trash. Sticky dirty floors and deteriorating furniture. I’ve given this place several chances. The only good service I had was from the amazing Kyle. The other bartenders were rude and can’t make a decent mule. They are also not welcoming to straight patrons. And they discriminate on people with disabilities and health issues like narcolepsy. SHUT THIS PLACE DOWN!!!! Albany needs a better dive than this! Never again
