Asia Roma Albee Square Reviews
Visiting the area and decidex to give this restaurant/bar a try. Fantastic ambience, well stocked bar, and chicken Alfredo linguine was wonderful! Happy hour 3-7 was perfect to grab dinner and a couple drinks...
This is a nice bar with great food. Their Happy Hour is amazing. It is very laid back. The service is good. They are also dog friendly. I would definitely come back.

Fantastic space. We attended a friend's birthday party and sang karaokē until 1am. Very friendly and accommodating staff, fully stocked bar and amenities. Definitely book your next karakokē party or event here!
Friendly neighborhood bar, a lot of locals go here. Nothing too fancy but the drinks, food, and service are all excellent, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
The staff was quick and efficient. There was the cutest pup there that greets you and occasionally comes by. Very sweet pup. The drinks are amazing and always do the job! Very flavorful and happy hour is a must!!
my friends and I came here after dinner and had the most amazing time at their bar + karaoke. expect really homey vibes and to make friends with aunties and uncles from the area. we sang a few songs amongst ourselves and sang with the other folks at the bar — it was a great time. cheap drinks, highly recommend for an intimate and wholesome night out!!!
The happy hour is a excellent value especially for clam and oyster lovers. The drinks are strong and delicious. There’s free Karaoke. Main courses are a limited selection. It’s more a place to snack on tasty affordable appetizers, drink, talk, and even sing. It’s not the best choice for big meals.
Wonderful, wonderful venue. Had some delicious $1 appetizers, which is very accurate in pricing. Also, I had the kindest and most wonderful bartender I had while eating dumplings and drinking too much water. A great venue for karaoke, with picking of songs $1 each for cash. Highly recommend you and your friends check out this place this summer.
A true hidden gem at the heart of Chinatown! Come Fridays after 4pm for a delicious discounted Steak and don't miss on the Salmon dish! Pair it with their amazing Lychee drink and you'll be ready to start the weekend at the right pace 😁😎🤌

The happy hour bar food specials, for just a dollar on select appetizers, Oysters, Clams, Wings, dumplings ,do I need to say more??? And Chase with a cold glass of Sapporo for $5 bucks. Great value , cozy place and I can't wait to go back for the karaoke. The owner is especially welcoming and feels like a place where she always remember her customers name.
Affordable drinks and great food, especially during their happy hour specials. It's a cozy place to stay warm or cool off. Everyone kind of knows each other by face, reputation, or interaction. However, there are a few toxic individuals, like Wenting, who puts their dirty shoes on the stools and yelled at the bartender when they were cut off after a few drinks, very obnoxious behavior. It's a local community bar, so you get the good, the bad, and the ugly. I've met Mei a few times, and she's a nice lady once you get to know her. Great place to sing late night, love karaoke!
The clams casino is a must. We got lucky on the night we showed up. It was 1/2 off on the happy hour menu, ALL DAY. You can karaoke while enjoying snacks and drinks by the bar or have a full sit down dinner. Everyone is friendly there and really big on the neighborhood vibe. You will bump into locals and regulars along with some.tourist trickling in. Highly recommend for the atmosphere.
Went here because of some article saying it was a top destination in Chinatown, but I think it was just because of the happy hour deal. The $1 apps are a good deal if you are a light eater, and they are pretty good too, but if you can eat 30 spring rolls, maybe it's not that great of a meal option. Be aware there is a $6 minimum per order. Recommend this place as a prelude to supper, maybe. Grab a drink and some wontons. They are not expecting tourists, and it's a little obscure to find.

The owner of this place is literally horrible,a racist woman. She stood next to our table as if we couldn’t afford what we were going to order, and I clearly heard her tell the waitress that we didn’t look like the kind of people who usually go to that bar. We had to leave without even eating. The waitress was very apologetic, but the owner basically kicked my family and me out. Never go to this place, especially if you’re a person of color. That woman has serious issues and seemed completely drunk. What a shame.
We’ve been coming to Asia Roma for birthday karaoke every year for the past decade. We booked a reservation for 20 people a month in advance, yet when we arrived they told us to sit upstairs instead of the downstairs section. We tried singing karaoke but the backing track was so quiet. We asked the two staff people and the owner to increase the volume but they didn’t know how to do so, saying that the audio/tech guy wasn’t working that night and made an excuse that the audio levels vary depending on the streaming service. Not sure why they didn’t ensure the audio guy was present when we booked ahead of time. It’s sad, but we won’t be going back to Asia Roma anytime soon. It felt like they didn’t care :(
Well, where do I begin? I've been going to this bar for a couple of years now. I usually frequent the place on Fridays during Happy Hours. My GF is Asian so I feel I have a connection with the community (Chinatown). I always pay my way, I tip generously; usually about 30% and why not? Can't take it with you. I was there recently and I was presented with a bill for $14.85 for a drink that a fellow customer supposedly had bought me the previous week. Keeping calm I walked over the owner and told her that "I was bought this drink and not only will I pay it, but I'm going to leave a tip as well, that's what kind of person I am." She said nothing! Sadly, I wont' be gong back there again...
Extremely disappointing experience. My friend’s pregnant wife was denied access to the restroom despite clearly explaining her urgent need and offering to purchase something. The manager responded with coldness and disregard, showing no empathy or respect. This kind of treatment toward a pregnant woman is unacceptable. I hope this business reflects on their customer service and basic human decency.
This place discriminated against my pregnant wife. We came in politely asking if my visibly pregnant wife could use the restroom due to an urgent need. We even offered to buy something, but the manager (a woman) refused in the most disrespectful and cold manner. She didn’t even look at us—she turned her back and just shook her head “no” without saying a word, with a look of pure hostility. She claimed the restroom was “not available,” yet there were no signs it was out of service. This was not just rude — it was blatant discrimination against a pregnant woman, which is unacceptable in a city like New York. No one deserves to be treated like this, especially not someone in a vulnerable condition. We will never return and strongly discourage others from supporting this kind of inhumane behavior. If you are reading this review, avoid this restaurant!!!!
Update 05/29/2024: After I left a one-star review, the business’s Instagram account DM’d me: “Please be advised, you are ban(ed) permanently.” Honestly, that just confirmed what I already knew—this place isn’t worth the energy. Original Review: I’ve lived in the neighborhood for six years and made a genuine effort to support this bar. During the pandemic, I came often, brought different friends, and always tipped. But the longer I showed up, the clearer it became: this place only feels welcoming if you fit into a certain circle. The owner, Mei, repeatedly acted like she didn’t recognize me—even after years of visits. When I brought it up, she said, “That’s how I treat everyone.” But if you own and hang out at a neighborhood bar, that kind of detachment doesn’t build community. Beyond my personal experience, I’ve seen her yell at staff and escalate arguments with drunk customers instead of de-escalating them. That tells me a lot about how this place is run. There’s also a visible difference in how some people are treated—who gets attention, and who gets ignored. I’m not here to cause a scene. I gave this place time, money, and patience. But I don’t share their values, and I don’t feel respected here. No drama. Just done.
We had booked the room downstairs for karaoke. Although we had booked for 10, once we got there they said they can’t sit us since we’re less than 15. Finally they agreed to charge us for 15 people. Everytime we went upstairs, the lady owner was yelling and cursing at the staff over some broken dish. It seems like a very toxic environment to work at. The karaoke machine kept cutting off and the one mic didn’t work properly. I don’t recommend this place.
The negative reviews are 100% correct. Have never received worse service
