The line was down the street and around the corner but I knew I had to try at least once. It went by much quicker than expected and the food it was worth the wait. Definitely recommend waiting in the line at least once. I'm sure there are less busy times to go so try to plan out your visit around those times.

Pastrami on Rye w/ Mustard was really good. The bread was ripping apart, other than that it was solid. No line and I had my sandwich in less than 5 mins on a sunday.

How does this only have a 3.8? It's Katz deli without a line?? I still think about this sandwich. It was everything that people say it is. It's worth the hype. 100% get in line and get a Katz deli sandwich. It's an experience.

The brisket was really good , juicy not dry , $28 per sandwich but it will feed 2 people easily

I LOVE Katz. I finally had an opportunity to go back after a year as I donot get to NYC and have time when I am there. I always get table service, since most people don't know about it and the counter lines are long. I went at 11am and walked right in. When I left at 1200 there was a line starting to form. I had the Cornned beef Ruben this time. It was love at first bite. I love the pickles that come with the meal as well. This place is well.worth the price. I look forward to my next trip.

I’ve seen this place on TV for years and was excited to finally try it for myself. The food was flavorful—exactly what you’d want and expect. The place was packed, which wasn’t a surprise. One thing that could’ve made the experience better: the guy making the sandwich could’ve explained the options instead of just staring at us like we should know what to do. Again, kind of what you’d expect at a busy NYC spot. Overall, a great experience. If I lived in New York, I’d probably be here a couple of times a month.

Never knew of this location. The customer service is unmatched and for as long as I can remember Katz has been that place to get a good sandwich, hotdog, fries or coleslaw. Give grace for this establishment. They’ve been around longer than I’ve been on this Earth. Thanks for having that flavor as usual.

It's almost a tradition of mine that every time I visit New York I have to visit this place! Don't regret the extra hour... it's really worth spending more time for this pastrami! In my opinion, it is a must-see on the culinary map, not only of NY City but also of the whole world. It is not without reason that the specialty of this place is called the best pastrami in the world!

This place is an experience! The meat is absolutely amazing, super soft tons of flavor and they stack it high. Sandwiches are between 20 and 30 bucks but you are getting about five sandwiches worth of meat with each one of these orders. One sandwich feeds two people easily. Definitely worth a visit and I will certainly be back myself to check it out. Amazing!

Unfortunately the original Katz’s over in Manhattan had a super long line and I didn’t want to wait so I was trying to find alternatives so I settled on A Taste of Katz’s and then I drove across the river to Brooklyn to try this. I really enjoyed the pastrami, it was very tender and juicy with plenty of condiments such as mustard, gravy, etc. The sandwich is loaded with pastrami meat and the portion is huge. Tastes just as good as the original. The prices were a bit expensive (I paid $20 for a single sandwich) but it was definitely worth it because of the amazing taste. Portion size makes up for it though. Perfect place if you want to try an iconic food of NYC without the long line!

Fast. Simple. Good. Go for the pastrami. Its gigantic so you might wanna think of sharing. Any doubts talk to your counterparts at the counter before asking that will help you all throughout the journey. Walls are filled with celebrities are a nice entertainment.

Have been meaning to visit the original Katz for our last 2 trips to NY but have never been near enough so thought I’d try here instead as we were in the area. Went for the pastrami sandwich which was plentiful as you’d expect but not good enough for me to want to order it again

I got their signature pastrami sandwich, it was alright. Huge sandwich, meat tastes alright, I feel like the bread could use some work or other options. The mustard provides most of the flavor, and could have some more mayonnaise. Really fills you up though. The cucumber really washes away the grease from eating so much meat. Very good packing, everything in its own place.

I think this is worth trying for the NY deli sandwich experience. I went and grabbed a take out corned beef sandwich - should have paid the extra dollar for pastrami just to go for the classic since this is more of an experience/name recognition stop. The sandwich was good, but didn’t win any awards in my book. Plus, it was quite messy, especially since I did take-out. I ate it at my hotel less than a block away, so not too much time for the bread to get too soggy. I’m glad they gave me utensils and plenty of napkins because I needed them to eat all that meaty goodness that fell out of the sandwich and all over my hands. Not the original Katz obviously, but the DeKalb Market Town hall is really cool. Reminiscent of one of my other favorite food halls - Reading Terminal Market in Philadelphia. Worth a stop if you are in the area.

I finally tried Katz’s Delicatessen while in NYC, and I’ve got mixed feelings. The place is iconic and has a cool, old school New York vibe. It’s definitely an experience walking in, grabbing a ticket, and seeing the giant piles of pastrami being sliced behind the counter. That said… it felt very overhyped. I waited close to an hour just to order, and then once you finally get your food, it’s basically a free for all trying to find a table. You’re squeezing past people, hovering over seats, and hoping someone leaves. It’s chaotic. The sandwich itself was good solid pastrami, decent flavor but for the price and the hassle, I didn’t think it lived up to the legendary status. It’s one of those “glad I tried it once” places, but I probably wouldn’t go back unless someone visiting really wanted to check it off their list.

Went there today. It was the most chewy, tough corned beef I ever had. I took a bite of my sandwich and it took me several minutes to chew it enough to start swallowing. Yes, there was a lot of it... but I have never had such a tough sandwich in my life. I could have made some stock corned beef from wal-mart, nothing special, and it would have been better. And for $30? Such a disappointment. The only saving grace was that the service was fast (I barely sat down and my sandwich had been ready) and that there were many other places to ea, just steps away.

Was so excited to try the famous Katz! It was a let down. My guess is this location is just not to par as the OG location. Employees were not polite. Price is insane for not being as good a sandwich as is legended. We will try the other location, but will not go back to this one. (For reference the sandwich pictured was $30 with no sides or drinks)

It was very crowded, very chaotic, and the line for food was completely unorganized. That kind of atmosphere makes me uncomfortable. After waiting in line for a long time, we finally got our sandwiches. But the taste of the meat was not my style at all. And there was just too much meat—meat and barbecue smells everywhere, which was overwhelming for me. I did like their pickles. I went there because it’s a historic place, but would I go again? Is it a taste I would miss? No. Once was enough for me. There’s no parking, so if you go by car, it’s a hassle. However, for those who love meat, it could be a good place.

So the deli is famous, well the people that work there give New York is name for being rude. Not sure if the understand not everyone is as rude as they are. You don’t have a ticket, you can’t pay, you don’t have a person with you in your party you can’t sit down. You sit to long at your table the waiters let you know it. If you try an order something that’s not famous on the menu the waiters let you know it. The food was good but it’s one time thing. The pastrami sandwich is good, too greasy, as you get bread and meat nothing to get the grease. The fries are good, steak fries. The pickles are not bad. The turkey salad should not be on the menu, or just remove the turkey and keep the salad.

My experience was not good, for the first time going to that location The employees seemed like they had all had an attitude. They were not polite, I had to ask for a taste of the pastrami. The worker just threw it on the counter. I had a ask for pickles. She gave me 1 and it wasn't cut. I will never go back to that location. I will also let my friends and family the same know not to go there. Also, I asked for more pickles and she looked at me like I said give me your money. I just walked away. My freedom is everything. Customer Service is very important you will lose lots of business.

I got a pastrami sandwich on 11/28 and pastrami was barely edible. It was extremely chewy and very tough which shouldn’t be the case. Something was totally off. I have had katz sandwiches multiple times in the past, both from this location and the original one in LES and this is the first time something like this happened. I don’t know how is it even possible to cook pastrami like that but I will avoid this location at all costs in the future.

Brought a co worker here bragging about Katz. We went to the one in Brooklyn. What a disappointment this was. Burger King would have been better. Where to start? Workers had no personality, and were too busy on their phones. Portions were fair. Pastrami was cold. Knish was old and cold as well. For the price, it was a huge let down. It was embarrassing for me after talking it up to have that experience. Go to the one in the city, this is a hard pass!!!

Tried the famous pastrami on rye at Katz’s and left underwhelmed. The meat was dry and bland, the rye bread tasted stale, and the sandwich felt more like hype than quality. Add the chaos and the steep price, and honestly, NYC has far better delis. Skip the line — it’s not worth the wait.
