Rosie's Albee Square Reviews
Alex made an already great experience better. Food was delicious and fresh, tortillas hand rolled, juices squeezed in the back. Awesome!
Warm and kind staff across the board. Great food, creative drinks and generously fair portions/prices for the city. They had Lengua tacos as a special, best I’ve had. Our server Rosie went out of their way to make the night special. Will return!
Rosie’s is always amazing the hosts are so kind and the food is great. But also our serve RYAN was the kindest most best human EVER. We will be coming back!! Just got him ❤️❤️ my friend had a nut allergy and he made her feel so cared for and loved with his attention to detail and awareness!! He is the best and the food and drinks and happy hour deal are amazing.
I came for dinner and had an amazing time! I ordered the enchiladas suizas, not spicy at all and portion was fare, I had the guacamole with salsa and chips too, very good as well. And for drinks I had the guava paloma. It was really good too! Place is kind of big,so perfect for big parties and they have in the middle this nice tortilla maker.
Rosie's is my very very very favourite restaurant. The people who work there are so lovely: smart, gracious, knowledgeable, patient. The food is exquisite. The margaritas are delicious. The ambience is perfect. The music is at the right volume. The space is beautiful. And all of this is consistent, no matter what day of the week or what time of year. 12/10! A true gem!
Went here on a cold Saturday night after seeing Pozole Verde on the menu which is very difficult to find in NYC. Had reservations so was seated very quickly despite it being quite busy. We had a round of cocktails which were all very tasty and ordered a few items to share and each got our own individual green pozoles. The Pozole Verde was good but thought there was a bit too much star anise flavoring and not enough cilantro and jalapeño/serrano peppers (I was hoping for a bit of a spicy kick). The tlayuda was the other highlight which people descrive as a Mexican pizza where a tortilla is the dough. Overall, really enjoyed the meal here and would definitely come back to try other menu items.
My colleagues and manager and I come here every holiday for a celebration and had the best time, especially because of the salt decor. They will write anything you want in salt when you order shots. Also, Alex was the BEST waiter I have ever had at this establishment. Highly recommend going to Rosie’s. NaCl am I right? If you know you know?
Came here for dinner on a Friday night and sat at the bar to order. The vibe is on point. It was lively and crowded but the food still felt authentic. I’ve traveled a lot in Mexico and this food is on par. I ordered chicken tacos, black beans, and a few sides. Everything was fresh and the salsas were spicy and delicious. Great spot with a strong social scene in a prime part of Manhattan.
My friend and I loved it here. The food and the drinks were great, also not too expensive. Miguel, our waiter, was so kind and helpful. I had a taco al pastor and a small soup, called "pozole verde". Perfect for this cold, rainy winter day! I had a delicious classic margarita too. My friend had a quesadilla de calabaza which she said was delicious, and a glass of red wine. This is real Mexican food, just not as highly spiced, says Miguel. Mexican food like I have never eaten in a "Mexican" restaurant. This place is definitely worth coming too.
We were in the East Village and looking for a place to have drinks and dinner. We stumbled upon Rosie's on 2nd Ave. What a fun time! Place was hopping (at 2pm on a Sunday!) It was a nice day so all the outdoor tables were taken but their glass doors were all open. Modern interior with colorful decorative touches was bright and cheery. They make a great margarita (I recommend Rosie's margarita - mezcal, tequila, dry curacao & serrano lime). Alex was a delight as our server. I ordered the huevos tirados from the brunch menu (scrambled eggs, black beans, salsa, queso fresco & tortillas) that were amazingly fresh and delicious. As an appetizer, the pechuga rostizada (grilled chicken breast with avocado, tomatillo salsa) was super tender. We finished with the Mexican sundae (mini churros, caramel gelato, chocolate sauce) that capped off a wonderful, fun casual meal.
This restaurant delivers quality consistently. The employees made a great first impression. Pleasant atmosphere with staff who care and simple but nice decor. The dishes impress with taste, quality ingredients, and beautiful arrangement. Rosie's improves even my worst days.
You can’t be sad when in Rosie’s. Intimate personalized service at the bar! Christian and Herme are truly the representation of what hospitality is! Loved talking to Steven about the menu and their creativity for the drinks! I can’t even pass by without having some chicharrones, queso fundido and chips! No comments on their drinks….. because we’re speechless! Love love love Rosie’s 🤍
I took my boyfriend Marcelo here for his birthday on Saturday night and we had the best time. Our waiter Chris was attentive and fun, ready to explain and answer any questions. The food was amazing, hanger steak was cooked perfectly medium and the quesobirria tacos with the consume were absolutely delicious. My boyfriend wanted to try some Tequila and Chris described several to try, even bringing out the bottle so he could take a picture for reference. A nice touch was bringing out his drink on a tray with a candle for his birthday. We will definitely be returning!
One of the very few awesome authentic restaurants in New York City. The ambience was great and felt very authentic. The service was impeccable. We received it right away. The food was legitimately incredible got the fish tacos and the passionfruit margarita which was highly recommended. Anyone who hasn’t been here is missing out
From the moment we arrived, we were greeted promptly and from a friendly host. We arrived early and sat right away. Our waitress came over and took drink and appetizer orders as we waited for the rest of our party. Once everyone arrived, we officially ordered. The food was exceptional and different than typical fast food Mexican cuisine. So much flavor into the dishes! Truly authentic and detail given to each dish. Appetizers, main meals, desserts and drinks all wonderful! I didn’t take that many photos my husband who is very particular, loved the tres leches and flan- even my picky 11yo son enjoyed it!! Thank you! We will be back when we visit again next year! Bonus surprise- our waitress turned out to be “Rosie”! *very family friendly ❤️
Alex our server was excellent and very patient as we had a baby with us and did not order in the timeliest of fashions. He answered all our questions and was very friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is buzzing and lively, the food is solid (really enjoyed the short rib quesabirria, chicken tacos, and the guac and salsas). Drinks were excellent! Overall great spot that won’t break the bank and deliver good food and friendly service.
Me and friends were craving a marg for taquilla day. We were able to get a seat very easily here last min. The space is huge. Great indoor and outdoor seating. They make the tacos right in the middle of the room which is super cute and fun However. The drinks were lacking. They didn’t taste strong at all and were expensive. I would have gotten more or a pitcher but were underwhelming. Which was sad The food is a diff story. The tacos were perfect. The chips and salsa and quac were also amazing. Many places in nyc don’t do chips and salsa right. Rosie’s does I would go back for the food. I would not go for the drinks
Lively spot with plenty of outdoor seatings. The open air layout makes it a nice experience to sit at an outside table with friends to have a social conversation when the weather is good - which is what the table next to us was about. They were loud (absorbed by the streets) and looked joyful. Service was fine, food was generally tasty. Not worth it to come for just the food though, there’s definitely things to criticize. Tuna was a bit too sour, plantains were not evenly cooked. Wait time was reasonable, around 15-20min. Clean restrooms.
I came here on a Friday night in mid May with two other people for dinner at 7:45pm. It was a gorgeous evening and the restaurant had a very open air experience indoor. The restaurant was packed and quite lively. We ordered appetizers, drinks, and entrees. The food was all on the high end of fine. I've never been very impressed with the Mexican food I've had in Manhattan and this was no exception. The main call out from this experience is that our server was THE Rosie the restaurant is named after. Despite how busy the restaurant was, Rosie was amazing. She is a real pro. She deserves the namesake and way more. I would go back here if invited, but I wouldn't seek out another reservation.
This place is always packed on Friday and Saturday evenings. We tried a several dishes here: guac and chips, quesadillas, taquitos, enchiladas, gelato, and churros. Pretty disappointed at the flavor of the dishes. The only good ones were the quesadillas and the churros. However, the margs here were delicious. The coco loco (coconut and banana) was a great balance of sweetness and bite. Go to this restaurant for the drinks, not the food.
