Rubirosa Albee Square Reviews
Wow this meal was unreal. Everything hit the mark. No joke the pizza has me looking up Rubirosa sauce jars to order because the pizza was that good. Great arugula salad with the tastiest dressing and an absolutely delicious ravioli dish in the butter sauce. I don’t *want* to come back… I NEED to come back. ❤️
After months of trying to get a reservation (yes, it’s that hard), I finally decided to just try going without one. The wait was around 45 minutes but it was worth it because the food was great! I loved the half & half pizza (tie-dye and vodka) and the mini rice balls. Definitely a must try for thin crust, cheesy, NY-style pizza.
I came here with a group of coworkers (who are not gluten free) and was prepared to get a salad and was delighted when they shared an entire gluten free menu with me. Was able to their famous tie dye pizza as gluten free. It was incredible! You definitely need a reservation cause this place gets packed.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Rubirosa is pure comfort, warmth, and excellence from start to finish. From the moment we walked in, the ambiance wrapped us up like being in a beloved grandma’s house — cozy, inviting, nostalgic, and full of heart. It’s the kind of place that instantly makes you relax and feel taken care of. The service was truly exceptional. Our server, Alyssa, was warm, attentive, and wonderful, but honestly the entire team went above and beyond. You can feel how much pride they take in what they do, and that energy carries through the whole experience. And then… the food. Absolutely outstanding. We started with the fried calamari — perfectly crispy and flavorful. The Supreme pizza and Bianca pizza were both phenomenal, each bite better than the last. Even the bread was delicious (which says a lot). We finished with the tiramisu, which was rich, balanced, and the perfect ending. The espresso martinis deserve their own mention — smooth, rich, perfectly balanced, and honestly some of the best I’ve had. The ideal complement to an already incredible meal. But the moment that really sealed it? They brought out a mini pizza box filled with mini chocolate slices. Thoughtful, playful, and unforgettable. Everything was truly delectable. Rubirosa is one of those rare places that gets everything right — atmosphere, service, drinks, and food. I will absolutely be coming back, even if it’s out of my way. Highly, highly recommend.
Good vibes good food. The restaurant was packed and wait time was 45 minutes but we were seated in the back near the pizza making which was better than the front. Very cozy vibes. The food was great! The pizza was so good that I ate more slices than my usual. Mushroom pasta paired perfectly with the pizza and the fried calamari was a great starter. I would definitely recommend Rubirosa if you are around the area. Prepare for a bit of wait and cramped seating, but definitely worth it for the quality of the food here. Recommend maybe a smaller party from 2~4 due to the table size limits. Great experience and willing to visit again!
Stopped by here when visiting from out of town and had a outstanding meal. Made a reservation a week in advance and they were gone in an instant! Tie Dye pizza was one of the better pizzas I've had in a long time. Cesar salad was fresh and well dressed, and the garlic knots were so soft, buttery, and loaded with fresh garlic. Would highly recommend as an absolute gem of a restaurant with outstanding food and charming atmosphere!
Definitely a restaurant geared for a younger crowd. But, we had a delicious dinner. We started with a Caesar salad and asked for A side of anchovies. The salad was generous and lightly dressed. We also started with an order of the eggplant Parmesan. The eggplant was tender and the red sauce was Fresh and tangy. For our entrée, we shared an order of the cavatelli with broccoli rabe and Italian sausage. With that, we ordered a side of the broccoli rabe with garlic. Everything ordered was very good and I am impressed.
Real good food, I know they are known for their pizza but honestly the appetizers were kind of stealing the show. The Tie-dye pizza was ok but the hot honey was soooo so good!!! atmosphere was amazing, little loud but great either way. Their house wine too was nice, have nothing to complain about
My wife and I went here for late dinner. I wanted to make my wife try their famous tie dye pizza. I had the tie dye pizza 5 years ago and so I was excited too. And it did not disappoint. The crust was crunch and pizza sauce was delicious. We also ordered pasta ( spaghetti all chittara) and it tasted really good. We ordered Italian red wine with the pasta and pizza. And at last we tried tiramisu. Again it was delicious, creamy, and light as air in your mouth I recommend doing a reservation. Upon arrival we were seated right away and ambience was cozy with warm lights.
Second time I've been here I'm not the type of person who goes to a place that only serves pies. I love good pizza, but it's tough for me to justify a whole pie and I'm gonna be honest. I don't really have people to go and explore different pizza restaurants with but this one I was like you know what I need to try this place and I don't regret it. They are focused on the ingredients And in my opinion the tie-dye pizza is a Perfect pizza I'm sure they're original is good too cause the sauce is good. This time around I put prosciutto on it and it was money the saltines and the sauce paired perfectly. Their pizza is high-quality for sure. It is about the right ingredients not about quantity of ingredients. It's not flooded with cheese and dough. If you're into football pizza, this will be disappointing. This is the type of pizza that in my opinion, you eat slow slowly and enjoy. God, I sound like a snob, but it's good pizza By the way, I ordered for pick The place is quite crowded and packed and hard to get a table I think at certain times. Just order a pick up and go eat in the park
Our server was fantastic! I was overwhelmed with the menu and they made amazing recommendations that allowed the table to share and sample the most. Will be back!

Great pizza but very expensive. Good service, small restaurant. In little Italy on mullberry street. Pizza is pricey if good!

Fun, quintessential little Italy vibes of an established New York City restaurant. Great service, and menu is much brighter than just pizza. Braised beef braciole and short rib anglotti were favorites for our table. Reservations took extensive planning and setting a timer at midnight to jump on it, but totally worth it. We went on a cold day where wait times were short, but I don’t think this is typical. Waiter was particularly attentive to our food, allergies, and double checked with the kitchen on ingredients. The menu is not overwhelming and there’s a focused list of desserts and beverages. The kind of place where options have been carefully honed over years of service. We also tried the tie-dye and honey pie pizzas. Crust was exceptionally thin. This is what New York style pizza is traditionally known for. If this is your thing, you’ll love it. They have it down to a science. A definite repeat. Would rate 7.5/10 for the pizza experience, but all else was a solid 9+.
The food was yummy and I adored our server, but everything (including the salad) was borderline greasy. Worth trying, because how could you not!? But since this is such a trendy place it’s become more about turning tables than somewhere you can sit and truly enjoy the food and company. In short, go for the pizza experience at least once if you can get a reservation—if not, there are plenty of other pizza spots with amazing pizza and even better ambiance.
It is a rustic yet homey restaurant serving traditional Italian fares. Their thin crust pizza is crispy and chewy, and pasta is fresh with rich garlic savory pasta sauce. Their zappoli is perfectly fried crispy outside and doughy soft inside 🙂, and cocktails are delicious! It is a popular go to place and is crowded. So, you should make a reservation to avoid the long wait
When in New York you have to get pizza right… well I think they need to clarify when they say that and tell you to get Rubirosa’s pizza. Came here on a recommendation, risked the long wait, and man was it worth it. We sat at the bar and were helped by Sergio! Ordered two pizzas. One was a traditional fresco. And the other a half and half gluten free with honey pie and tie dye. The gluten free was phenomenal. They don’t make their crust in house but it is from a local establishment. The vodka sauce on their tie dye is impeccable. I loved that the crust was crispy! I devoured it all. The half and half is the way to go!!! All of that said, when in New York get pizza. But make sure it is Rubirosa’s!! Knocking it down and star because of cost- gluten free is smaller than non but still same cost if not more…
Highly recommend making reservations, especially over the weekends. If not, be prepared to wait OR quick to order for pick-up and see whatever gets to you faster: your pizza to go or your seat. We arrived with no reservations ima Saturday evening and the wait for either bar or table seating was expected to be just over 1 hour, which we expected. We ordered pizza via DoorDash for pick-up of the small half classic and half hot honey pizza. The hostess was friendly and placed us on the waitlist via text system. Our pizza for pick-up arrived first and it was easy to remove yourself from the waitlist. Now the pizza was good to share between two people. Nice thin crust, nice char, loved the cheese/sauce ratio (more cheese), now the hot honey pizza I wasn’t a fan of the soppresatta and should have subbed it for pepperoni. Overall great pie and would come back, but only with reservations or for pick-up. Not able to comment on service as we picked-up but the hostess was friendly.
The food at Rubirosa is absolutely delicious and lives up to its hype! I loved everything, and the sauce on the pizza is tangy and unique. Service was good, however I made a reservation and chose a time that specifically stated we would receive a regular table rather than bar or elevated table seating. When we arrived, we were seated at an elevated table with no alternate choice. I wish that our reservation selection was honored as we booked in advance and came on time. For me, it wasn't a big issue but it may be good to keep in mind when booking!
