Came here multiple times for the tie dye pizza split with a pepperoni pizza, and every time it was a pleasant tastebud experience— it can get crowded, and pizzas take a while, so at one visit I did takeaway and another visit I sat at the bar. The atmosphere is so lively and vibrant but also cozily lit. Service was excellent and the place is well kept— will definitely be a mainstay New York stop for me from now on.
Rubirosa 235 Mulberry St. New York, NY 10012 Appearance: 10/10 Taste: 10/10 When I entered this Italian restaurant approximately 20 minutes after they opened, the dining area was already packed. I already knew I was going to be in for a treat. The cutlet was pounded thin. The mozzarella cheese was cooked to a perfectly golden color. The sauce was thick with just the right amount of sweetness; the sauce to CP ratio was spot on! The basil added a nice flavor to the entrée. This was on the costlier side, but it was well worth it. Due to the large amount of customers, the server was not as attentive. In the end, the plate was phenomenal and I’d still recommend trying this restaurant. Be sure to arrive early to avoid the crowd. #rubirosa #rubirosanyc #mulberryst #soho #chickenparmreview
Great NYC pizzeria not to be missed over the social media hot spots. Thin crust pizza with wonderful flavor. We had 14" with vodka sauce with mozzarella and added a couple extra toppings. Enough for 2 plus we had leftovers to take home. I would love to try some of the pasta dishes but pizza only this time.😥 Service was attentive and all the staff were friendly!
I had a great meal here on the 24th February 2026. Sat at the bar where the vibes were great thanks to the bartender in the beanie! Food & drinks were brilliant too, as was the overall atmosphere. Will be back 🙏
I decided to walk in on a whim since I was in the area and was feeling a little hungry. The staff were great and were able to sit me at the bar by myself right away. Keep in mind this was at around 2pm so the lunch rush is dying down a little. But it was still extremely crowded when I came in! I ordered the Garlic Knots and Rubirosa. Both were extremely good and tasty. The restaurant is loud but you don't really feel the noise as much since it is at a based line level!
Had been hearing about here for a long time and even put my name down a couple of times but the wait was so long so I finally got to try it out and it didn’t disappoint at all. The pizza was so good and one of the best thin crusted pizzas in NYC for sure. We had the arugula and Caesar salad too and they were good. In the end we had the bread pudding desert and that was average in our opinion. The pizza we got were the ones in the picture. Tie dye was my favorite.
It was our first time here, and we loved it! The pizza so good! Loved the tie die pizza - it was recommended on socials and it did not disappoint. Very lovely and kind staff. And we really appreciated how they asked about allergies and food sensitivities, wich was very nice.
Located on Nolita, Rubirosa has developed into a much loved Italian restaurant known for their pizza. Wafer thin crusts make it tasty to eat. Beverly and I had lunch here recently for yet another birthday celebration. We had one pizza. One half was the Arugula with tomato sauce, red onion, parmigiana and balsamic and the other half was the “Tie Dye” with a topping of vodka, tomatoes, mozzarella and pesto. We shared a arugula salad anointed with a refredhing lemon vinaigrette that was quite large. The arrival of the pizza was heralded with joy! We ate well and the one slice left I took home. Star, our server, gave me a cookie lit with a candle as we skipped dessert being too full. One can get a reservation on Resy for Rubirosa but as it has become so popular it is at times difficult to snag a reservation. I have been having pizza here for decades and in those days walking in to eat was easy. Aurpita and Michelle, the two charming hostesses, made us feel welcome and gave me hope that I would be able to enjoy lunch here once again.
One of my favorite pizzas in NYC, hands down! I bring all my out-of-town family and friends here. Their pizza is to die for. I particularly love their tie-dye and pepperoni, but you can’t go wrong with any of them. Also, DO NOT sleep on their mozzarella sticks. They are absolutely heavenly and the best I’ve ever had. I dream of them often. Highly recommend Rubirosa to everyone in NYC!
We had a great meal here! I ordered the Chicken Al Limone, which was absolutely delicious. The chicken was tender, juicy, and full of flavor from the lemon, white wine, and cippolini onions. My husband had the Rubirosa Supreme pizza, and it was equally tasty with its perfect blend of tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella, pepperoni, mini meatballs, and roasted garlic. The Chicken Al Limone was definitely the standout for me and my husband. Highly recommend arriving right when they open—lines get long later in the day, and they don’t always take reservations until a certain time, which can be a bit frustrating. But once you’re in, it’s worth it! Great service and overall experience
We just had our second visit to Rubirosa, and the food is definitely worth the wait. We didn’t have reservations and waited in line at 5:00 for the chance to nab a walk-in table. We grabbed a 6:30 table and were thrilled. The smells coming from the kitchen alone are worth the wait for admission. Add to it the fact that Rubirosa is truly Celiac-friendly, and we will be back each and every time we are in the neighborhood. My Celiac kid was so excited that she actually had OPTIONS for dinner and not just a Caesar salad with no croutons and an overdone piece of chicken breast. She over-ordered specifically so she would have leftovers, and she refused to share. Mozzarella sticks, meatballs and a Detroit-style pizza with two flavors were ALL GF and delicious. The mushroom pasta might have been the best pasta dish I have had all year. It was so good that my youngest about finished her carbonara and then grabbed my half-full plate of mushroom pasta (I was saving it for lunch) and proceeded to eat it all. Save room for the tiramisu- Rubirosa’s is light, airy and flavorful. Our waiter, Trevor, was awesome. He was the perfect combination of casual, honest, chill, and attentive. You have to love a calm waiter in chaos that never looks unnerved.
OMG, the food here was amazing! We came across this place by accident — we couldn’t find anything interesting in the main part of Little Italy, and this spot caught our eye on the map. I'm so glad we decided to check it out. The drinks were great and strong, the pizza was superb, and the Cacio e Pepe pasta was absolutely delicious! The cheesecake was nice too! The restaurant itself has a lot of character, though it is a bit tight in there...
A very friendly and traditional atmosphere, it's somehow both very comfortable and classy here. The food is fantastic- you'll eat some of the best pizza here with soft thin crust, the lightest crunch, and warm sweet plum tomato sauce. Their clam pasta with pancetta is incredible with a buttery garlic sauce, and what I assume to be fried garlic on top.
The food came out quick. And we ate it quick. Very tasty. Thin crispy crust on every pizza. Exceptional. The cacio pepe tasted good but they did not use a thick enough spaghetti noodle. That’s my only complaint. The carbonara pasta was also great.
Rubirosa is one of my favorite pies in the city. I got the half supreme and half tie dye - DELISH!!! Their chili oil is top tier and service is awesome. Tight space but they can’t help that. Ingredients seem fresh and pizza was served piping hot. I wish I could eat here everyday!!! Recommend making a reservation a couple days in advance.
Rubirosa is NYC Italian at its best—thin-crust pizza perfection in Nolita! The Tie Dye pie (vodka sauce, pesto, marinara swirl with fresh mozz) was insanely flavorful and crispy, Vodka pasta rich and creamy, meatballs tender in killer sauce. Portions generous, everything hits. Service was warm, efficient, and spot-on—staff handled the rush like pros. Atmosphere is cozy and energetic (dim lighting, tight seating, fun neighborhood buzz), though it gets packed and a bit loud—classic NYC charm. Worth every wait. Go-to spot!
Wow what can I say about this place that nobody else has! The service was incredible, from spot on recommendations, attentive (and meaningful) check ins, to even just being able to get me a great spot to eat (slight glitch on my part with reservation for two but I was only one). Those who complain about the pizza being like a cracker… that’s because it is, it’s super thin and crispy. I actually think the style is named such and that you can find recipes online. It is amazing! I nearly ate the entire pie myself, on top of the most delicious pasta I’ve ever had. Short rib… and wow, if it’s on the specials list - get it. Cheers and happy eating.
We had big expectations for this meal and they were definitely met. LOVED the carbonara, tricolor pizza and the hot honey pizza. They also had a fantastic creamy Caesar that I will definitely get again. If you come on a Sunday they have a very classic Sunday red sauce that’s great with a little red pepper or chili oil. Overall a great meal and great service!!
Bryan is the best. Incredible service and helped us make great choices during our first dine in meal here. We did a half and half pie - the tye dye and honey pie was the ultimate move. Paired with a couple of great cocktails and it was a great time. They also offer a number of other great Italian dishes too. Prices are a bit on the steeper side but it's worth.
Rubieosa is deserving of its reputation for good food. We were promised a 95 minute wait for a table. However a table came available in 30 minutes. Service friendly and attentive. Restaurant very busy and pretty loud. Menu has a good selection of Italian fare. Pizza crust could not be thinner without becoming a crepe. This adds some real crunch at the edge. Desserts are good. Both gluten free desserts available have a lot of chocolate
I don't think this place is worth the hype or cost but it's fine. Their tie-dye pizza with pesto, vodka, and tomato sauces is worth a try, but it's not winning any awards. The pizza was solid, but the pasta was disappointing. The Lumache with Vodka sauce was lacking any real standout flavor, and vodka sauce amount was fairly meager. The pasta itself was unremarkable.
I strongly recommend this restaurant for Italian-American food near little Italy that isn’t a tourist trap. I got the black and white tagliatelle and the supreme pizza. The tagliatelle was very tasty and had a very generous amount of seafood. The pizza was fantastic - great thin crust and the best pepperoni I’ve had in my life. Despite it being crazy busy, the staff was attentive and friendly. Great meal!
Last visit - 2017 Whoever rate it less than five, should visit the doctor. :) It is one of the best Italian restaurants I have ever been to, and I have probably been to no less than 100. The pizza is superb! The service was good! The prices are very affordable (NYC after all). I took the signature dish - chicken. WOW!!! Definitely will visit again and again.
Update: Julio, thanks for taking the time to write me back. I now appreciate the complexity that goes into running a restaurant with fantastic food, great value, huge demand, and limited seating. I have revised my review to 5 stars. Thank you Good spot in the heart of downtown. Wish they weren't so crazy about the reservation system. It seems the only way to get a table is to show up and get on the list, then wait 30 mins. The irony of it all is that there are always a ton of tables empty inside. Such is the allure, seems they are just trying to make people wait to increase anticipation. They also wouldn't switch our table as we were right under the AC - they claimed they had "another reservation" but I thought they don't take reservations? Strange. That all said, the food is excellent. Pizza is perfect. Very well priced.
Great experience. Didn’t have a reservation, got seated in 10 minutes for lunch on a Sunday. Had the tie-dye pizza with sausage - one of the best pizzas I’ve had in NYC. Rachel provided awesome service. Will be back
Very good experience here. We had a large party of 15 and they accommodated us with a limited family style menu. All the food was really good, especially the tie dye pizza. Mozzarella sticks were a nice surprise. The zeppole was so so, i thought the zeppole at the Astoria carnival was better 😁. This might have been the loudest restaurant ever, screaming at people who are across the table, but it’s a small place. I would recommend coming here definitely to try the pizza. Wait staff was friendly as well.
Rubirosa was an amazing dining experience from start to finish! The place has a warm, authentic vibe, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. We started with the fried mozzarella—perfectly crisp on the outside, fresh inside, and served with a marinara sauce that had just the right spicy kick. The tie-dye pizza was outstanding—thin, crispy crust, flavorful sauce, gooey cheese, and tasty pepperoni that all came together beautifully. To top it off, the cheesecake was incredible—light, creamy, and perfectly complemented by a sweet strawberry sauce. Truly a match made in heaven. Highly recommend Rubirosa if you’re looking for delicious food and a great atmosphere in the city!
I asked my cousin to take me to a yummy New York Pizza. This place was amazing! The house made sauce was so flavorful, and the thin crust had the perfect crunch. We came in hungry so we ordered the Heirloom Tomato Caprese as an appetizer and that was a great. We also ordered a pasta dish plus the amazing Pizza! Everything was so delicious that we left full and no leftovers! We ate it all :-) The atmosphere is amazing, with a rustic vibe that’s both cozy and comfortable. The service was equally impressive, very attentive and friendly staff, always making sure we were enjoying our meal and keeping our water glasses full. If you’re looking for a spot for an amazing NYC Pizza with fantastic food and a welcoming ambiance, this is the place to go. Highly recommend!
WORTH THE HYPE!! Went to Rubirosa for a very early dinner and were lucky enough to get a walk in table. It is a very nicely done restaurant, the servers are very warm and the food is outstanding. We only tried the Pizzas and ordered 3 different options. They have a very limited selection of drinks, but good enough to go with the food. Would highly recommend making a reservation in advance.
Worth the wait and the slightly cramped space. Everything we ordered here was surprisingly great. The pictures alone look great - but they taste even better than they appear. But the highlight for me was the Tie-Dye Pie. It doesn't make sense how good it is. It is super light and crisp, yet the vodka sauce gives it a richness. It is so well balanced - probably my favorite thin crust pie anywhere.
Good vibes good food. The restaurant was packed and wait time was 45 minutes but we were seated in the back near the pizza making which was better than the front. Very cozy vibes. The food was great! The pizza was so good that I ate more slices than my usual. Mushroom pasta paired perfectly with the pizza and the fried calamari was a great starter. I would definitely recommend Rubirosa if you are around the area. Prepare for a bit of wait and cramped seating, but definitely worth it for the quality of the food here. Recommend maybe a smaller party from 2~4 due to the table size limits. Great experience and willing to visit again!
Hands down, Rubirosa is the best pizza in NYC! There’s always a wait, but trust me, it’s worth it. The crispiness of the dough and the superb ingredients make for one of the most delicious pizzas ever. The tie-die pizza is a must-try! Go there, put your name on the waitlist, and wait at one of the nearby bars. It’s so worth it!
Stopped by here when visiting from out of town and had a outstanding meal. Made a reservation a week in advance and they were gone in an instant! Tie Dye pizza was one of the better pizzas I've had in a long time. Cesar salad was fresh and well dressed, and the garlic knots were so soft, buttery, and loaded with fresh garlic. Would highly recommend as an absolute gem of a restaurant with outstanding food and charming atmosphere!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Rubirosa is pure comfort, warmth, and excellence from start to finish. From the moment we walked in, the ambiance wrapped us up like being in a beloved grandma’s house — cozy, inviting, nostalgic, and full of heart. It’s the kind of place that instantly makes you relax and feel taken care of. The service was truly exceptional. Our server, Alyssa, was warm, attentive, and wonderful, but honestly the entire team went above and beyond. You can feel how much pride they take in what they do, and that energy carries through the whole experience. And then… the food. Absolutely outstanding. We started with the fried calamari — perfectly crispy and flavorful. The Supreme pizza and Bianca pizza were both phenomenal, each bite better than the last. Even the bread was delicious (which says a lot). We finished with the tiramisu, which was rich, balanced, and the perfect ending. The espresso martinis deserve their own mention — smooth, rich, perfectly balanced, and honestly some of the best I’ve had. The ideal complement to an already incredible meal. But the moment that really sealed it? They brought out a mini pizza box filled with mini chocolate slices. Thoughtful, playful, and unforgettable. Everything was truly delectable. Rubirosa is one of those rare places that gets everything right — atmosphere, service, drinks, and food. I will absolutely be coming back, even if it’s out of my way. Highly, highly recommend.
I came here with a group of coworkers (who are not gluten free) and was prepared to get a salad and was delighted when they shared an entire gluten free menu with me. Was able to their famous tie dye pizza as gluten free. It was incredible! You definitely need a reservation cause this place gets packed.
After months of trying to get a reservation (yes, it’s that hard), I finally decided to just try going without one. The wait was around 45 minutes but it was worth it because the food was great! I loved the half & half pizza (tie-dye and vodka) and the mini rice balls. Definitely a must try for thin crust, cheesy, NY-style pizza.
Wow this meal was unreal. Everything hit the mark. No joke the pizza has me looking up Rubirosa sauce jars to order because the pizza was that good. Great arugula salad with the tastiest dressing and an absolutely delicious ravioli dish in the butter sauce. I don’t *want* to come back… I NEED to come back. ❤️
Definitely a restaurant geared for a younger crowd. But, we had a delicious dinner. We started with a Caesar salad and asked for A side of anchovies. The salad was generous and lightly dressed. We also started with an order of the eggplant Parmesan. The eggplant was tender and the red sauce was Fresh and tangy. For our entrée, we shared an order of the cavatelli with broccoli rabe and Italian sausage. With that, we ordered a side of the broccoli rabe with garlic. Everything ordered was very good and I am impressed.
Real good food, I know they are known for their pizza but honestly the appetizers were kind of stealing the show. The Tie-dye pizza was ok but the hot honey was soooo so good!!! atmosphere was amazing, little loud but great either way. Their house wine too was nice, have nothing to complain about
My wife and I went here for late dinner. I wanted to make my wife try their famous tie dye pizza. I had the tie dye pizza 5 years ago and so I was excited too. And it did not disappoint. The crust was crunch and pizza sauce was delicious. We also ordered pasta ( spaghetti all chittara) and it tasted really good. We ordered Italian red wine with the pasta and pizza. And at last we tried tiramisu. Again it was delicious, creamy, and light as air in your mouth I recommend doing a reservation. Upon arrival we were seated right away and ambience was cozy with warm lights.
Second time I've been here I'm not the type of person who goes to a place that only serves pies. I love good pizza, but it's tough for me to justify a whole pie and I'm gonna be honest. I don't really have people to go and explore different pizza restaurants with but this one I was like you know what I need to try this place and I don't regret it. They are focused on the ingredients And in my opinion the tie-dye pizza is a Perfect pizza I'm sure they're original is good too cause the sauce is good. This time around I put prosciutto on it and it was money the saltines and the sauce paired perfectly. Their pizza is high-quality for sure. It is about the right ingredients not about quantity of ingredients. It's not flooded with cheese and dough. If you're into football pizza, this will be disappointing. This is the type of pizza that in my opinion, you eat slow slowly and enjoy. God, I sound like a snob, but it's good pizza By the way, I ordered for pick The place is quite crowded and packed and hard to get a table I think at certain times. Just order a pick up and go eat in the park
Our server was fantastic! I was overwhelmed with the menu and they made amazing recommendations that allowed the table to share and sample the most. Will be back!

The best Carbonara pasta ive ever had, and i lived in Rome for a period. The pizza is thin, crispy beyond belief and tasty AF. Highly recommend.

This is THE spot for authentic, mouth-watering pizza in Midtown New York! Thin slices, but bursting with flavor and packed with herbs and spices. And don't even get me started on the spaghetti and meatballs - perfection! Plus, an amazing selection of wine to wash it all down. Rubirosa is the real deal, and with great staff and a cool vibe, you'll feel right at home. Price? No problem! You get what you pay for, and here, you're getting great food! However, to take it to the next level, I'd suggest a few tweaks: - Providing WiFi access would be a huge plus, especially for international visitors without a data plan. - The space can get a bit cozy, but that's part of its rustic charm! Perhaps some strategic seating arrangements could help optimize the layout. - While the location and setup have a delightful authentic feel, some minor modern touches could enhance the ambiance for aesthetic lovers. Rubirosa is a gem, and with a few small adjustments, it will truly shine brighter!
We enjoyed ourselves here. The atmosphere is very old school and quaint; friendly and accommodating staff. However, the prices and the online "hype" create extremely high expectations for the food. Although it was not bad by any means, it was nothing to write home about when compared to other Italian restaurants which serve very similar, if not the same dishes.
Food was great, service - not so much. We arrived as a party of 4 with a reservation, we were seated in a very cramped area and waiters kept bumping into us. We shared a pizza, a pasta and a salad. We were waiting for 40 minutes and the food was yet to arrive, we asked our waiter and he said it takes time (although customers that got in after us already had their food, and they ordered the same dishes..) After another 20 minutes our food arrived, it seems like the waiter forgot to put in our order but never owned this fact unfortunately.. I will say that the food was delicious. Also please note - there’s only 1 bathroom in the restaurant, and queueing for it takes a few minutes…
We were happy to get a reservation at Rubirosa which was hard to come from on a snowy day in February 2024. The famous half-and-half pizza with vodka sauce was absolutely incredible and completely lived up to the hype! While our starter the mozzarella sticks arrived still frozen, the team was on it immediately and handled it perfectly. That small issue didn't impact our overall experience at all. If you're in Soho and want some truly fantastic pizza, this is the place to go. We'd highly recommend it but with this slight issue with a starter, I’m giving it a 4 star.
Went on a hot date Saturday night to celebrate my birthday. I love pizza so I was really excited. Ambiance was nice but this place was super packed...Wait time was two hours, even to sit at the bar you need a reservation! We got lucky and got seated after a few minutes 😁 service was great, calamari was amazing ! It's a must, hot and crispy with a hint of spicy. Marinara sauce was perfect. The pizza was okay, it was super thin (not my fave) my friend tried to fold it, the way we true new yorkers eat pizza but it cracked from being so crispy and thin, at least it was really flavorful, we enjoyed it. The drinks were really good and strong. I had the Irish mule and I was happy with it. The server gave me a tiny pizza box with chocolate for being the birthday girl, I thought that was really nice. Overall had a great time and I would go back🙂
I found the place to be kinda small but I guess space is at a premium New York. But we were seated and serviced quickly. The wait staff was exceptionally nice and tye food was delicious. We ordered a half and half. 1 side was tie and I forgot what the other was, and the taste was ok, I prefer a thicker crust. But to me the star of the meal was the meatballs in the spaghetti! Mama Mia! It was delicious! Order the pizza if you like real thin crust but don't sleep on the spaghetti and meat balls.
We stopped by for lunch and my wife was super excited to finally try some vodka pasta from NYC. She had also heard that the tie-die pizza was a great choice from here so we ordered both plus some garlic knots. The garlic knots were a 10/10 - super fluffy and warm. The vodka pasta was a 7/10 - not as creamy as we were expecting. The flavor was okay, but wouldn’t have us coming back. The tie-die pizza was impressively thin and the crust was crispy, but could have maybe used more pesto and quickly got soggy as a leftover. The service on the other hand was amazing. super attentive and polite. The restaurant had a nice ambiance as well, we were sat in the back by the pizza kitchen which smelled amazing.
Rubirosa offers a lively dining experience with flavorful dishes that mostly hit the mark. The Tie-Dye Pizza was absolutely delicious, though the crust was a bit saggy. The Carbonara was rich and satisfying but had a bit too much garlic for my taste. The ambiance was warm and inviting, but the tables were crammed close together, making the space feel tight. Despite these minor issues, the overall experience was enjoyable, especially for the excellent pizza.
The tie dye pizza was very thin which I enjoyed and the three different sauces were rich in flavor. Worth to get but the wait takes 20-30 min to receive it after ordering and I went at like 4pm. Didn’t make me feel like going to sleep right away or make me want to unbutton my pants which was good.
Highly recommend making reservations, especially over the weekends. If not, be prepared to wait OR quick to order for pick-up and see whatever gets to you faster: your pizza to go or your seat. We arrived with no reservations ima Saturday evening and the wait for either bar or table seating was expected to be just over 1 hour, which we expected. We ordered pizza via DoorDash for pick-up of the small half classic and half hot honey pizza. The hostess was friendly and placed us on the waitlist via text system. Our pizza for pick-up arrived first and it was easy to remove yourself from the waitlist. Now the pizza was good to share between two people. Nice thin crust, nice char, loved the cheese/sauce ratio (more cheese), now the hot honey pizza I wasn’t a fan of the soppresatta and should have subbed it for pepperoni. Overall great pie and would come back, but only with reservations or for pick-up. Not able to comment on service as we picked-up but the hostess was friendly.
The food at Rubirosa is absolutely delicious and lives up to its hype! I loved everything, and the sauce on the pizza is tangy and unique. Service was good, however I made a reservation and chose a time that specifically stated we would receive a regular table rather than bar or elevated table seating. When we arrived, we were seated at an elevated table with no alternate choice. I wish that our reservation selection was honored as we booked in advance and came on time. For me, it wasn't a big issue but it may be good to keep in mind when booking!
$20 tiramisu is absurdly overpriced. It was good, but not $20 good. $40 pizza was also good, but it didn’t blow my socks off. This place is over hyped and over priced. Don’t get me wrong, the food is very good, but not amazing as the stars would indicate. Definitely give it a try at least once.
Fun, quintessential little Italy vibes of an established New York City restaurant. Great service, and menu is much brighter than just pizza. Braised beef braciole and short rib anglotti were favorites for our table. Reservations took extensive planning and setting a timer at midnight to jump on it, but totally worth it. We went on a cold day where wait times were short, but I don’t think this is typical. Waiter was particularly attentive to our food, allergies, and double checked with the kitchen on ingredients. The menu is not overwhelming and there’s a focused list of desserts and beverages. The kind of place where options have been carefully honed over years of service. We also tried the tie-dye and honey pie pizzas. Crust was exceptionally thin. This is what New York style pizza is traditionally known for. If this is your thing, you’ll love it. They have it down to a science. A definite repeat. Would rate 7.5/10 for the pizza experience, but all else was a solid 9+.
It is a rustic yet homey restaurant serving traditional Italian fares. Their thin crust pizza is crispy and chewy, and pasta is fresh with rich garlic savory pasta sauce. Their zappoli is perfectly fried crispy outside and doughy soft inside 🙂, and cocktails are delicious! It is a popular go to place and is crowded. So, you should make a reservation to avoid the long wait
When in New York you have to get pizza right… well I think they need to clarify when they say that and tell you to get Rubirosa’s pizza. Came here on a recommendation, risked the long wait, and man was it worth it. We sat at the bar and were helped by Sergio! Ordered two pizzas. One was a traditional fresco. And the other a half and half gluten free with honey pie and tie dye. The gluten free was phenomenal. They don’t make their crust in house but it is from a local establishment. The vodka sauce on their tie dye is impeccable. I loved that the crust was crispy! I devoured it all. The half and half is the way to go!!! All of that said, when in New York get pizza. But make sure it is Rubirosa’s!! Knocking it down and star because of cost- gluten free is smaller than non but still same cost if not more…
The food was yummy and I adored our server, but everything (including the salad) was borderline greasy. Worth trying, because how could you not!? But since this is such a trendy place it’s become more about turning tables than somewhere you can sit and truly enjoy the food and company. In short, go for the pizza experience at least once if you can get a reservation—if not, there are plenty of other pizza spots with amazing pizza and even better ambiance.

The iconic Tie Dye Pizza is to dye for. Simply delicious. The place is small with great atmosphere so reserve a table. Service was good but not fast. We would gladly return.

Great Italian food with mediocre service. Absolutely loved everything we ordered. Braciole and mushroom campanelle were particularly excellent. But service on the other hand was not up to standard. Dismissive and inattentive. The atmosphere is nice - tight spot with homey decor (however they were playing loud club pop music which was off putting). Overall I would recommend because the food really was fantastic.
A very cozy spot! We ordered the tie dye pizza and vodka pasta, and both were fine but not with the hassle of getting a reservation waiting for a walk in. The ambience is fantastic and decor is super cute. Our server Trevor was the best! He was attentive and helpful.
