88 Burgers Amador County Reviews
Food is basic but don't let the fool you. It is delish. I prefer the cheeseburger and the chilicheese fries. If you order a large fry you get 4 pounds of fries. Ridicilous! Try to stop here often.
My favorite burger ever! I travel a ton and this is seriously the best burger I've ever had. If I lived closed Id eat here all the time. Staff is super kind and do such a great job. Its my favorite place.
They have excellent food. One order of French fries is enough for 3 people. The quality is excellent and the taste in there burgers will keep you coming back. This is an old fashion burger place.
Great place to eat! I used to eat here every month before moving. I am like Ego the critic from ratatouille, ‘I don’t like food, I love it!’ I am so picky about where I eat and live that you can grab anything on their menu which does include healthy options. Thank you for providing an amazing experience and repertoire with me as a customer over the years. Stay amazing! P.s my food was gone before I could take a picture.
$30 for a massive Double Cheeseburger, Hot Dog, and 2 sodas. Not the cheapest, but I'd pay it again. The Hot Dog was nothing special, but how much extra can you for to a Hot Dog, solid. The Double Cheeseburger has 2 massive juicy patties, tons of cheese, lettuce, tomato, and onions. I saw a lot of mixed reviews so if it gets super busy it might be a different experience, but mine was great!
The place to stop after a long day of Skiing/Snowboarding at Kirkwood! Great Hamburgers and when you order small fries you get plenty! Enough for two or three people, make sure you show up at least 15 minutes before they close if you want a milkshakes! Traditional Kirkwood heading home stop for a great Hamburger 🍔
I have heard a lot about these burgers and was finally able to stop by and have a bacon cheese burger, an Oreo shake, and a soda. This place lived up to its reputation. It was fantastic. The burger was juicy, and the shake was very well mixed with Oreo cookies. I definitely recommend 88 Giant Burgers To Go for anyone who is in the area!
I ordered the double cheeseburger with a large order of fries, which is an understatement, and received a bag full of potatoes goodness, perfectly crispy, not grease yummy, double burger with cheeses so delicious, with traditional topping, onion tomatoes, lettice and mayo. Over the Top. The shakes looked amazing This is a must when in the pine grove area.
Omg! One of the best burgers I've had in a long time. I recommend ordering small order of french fries. They're small order will feed four people. It was great that the food was prepared right in front of us. I've been told it's extremely busy on Sunday afternoons. I look forward to my next visit.
What a great find! Stopped here for dinner on my way over the mountain. Hamburgers were fantastic! We ordered a small fry which amply fed 3 people with some leftover. It was also not expensive. Cheaper than the Mcdonalds crap. Will be my go to when going to my friends cabin. I highly suggest this place!
Burger are big thick patties, nice staff. Fries were not cooked Enough i would recommend asking for them to be cooked longer, good size options. Downfalls, no seating, no restrooms, sometimes long wait
This place had to be good as the locals say, so we drove up to Pine Grove to check this place out. Simple, classic, juice cheeseburger 🍔 which is "rare" for me order. No occasion needed, and NO1 mentioned the huge bag of fries! Not sure if theirs a place to sit inside, but sat out and enjoyed watching the clouds roll in... Go check them out...
Slow. So very sloooowwww. 30+ minutes but only one of three customers there. They used to have fast sufficient employees. And no large drinks? What has happened to the good ol 88 burger??
Order my food yesterday drove a hour to get home olny to realize they gave me the wrong order call back three separate times (i got hang up on and one call didn't go through) talk to someone said they willing to make my food and save my number for next time i come in decided to come back the next day turned out they didn't save anything and i just wasted my time and money on something i didn't order
30 minute wait but nobody else was there. The chili appears to be canned Hormel chili that they microwaved on my fries when I got there. Nothing comes on the chili fries except chili, even though they told me there was at least cheese. No, There's nothing else. Burger is ok. Dry and overcooked with crispy edges and wilted lettuce, but I think they still use fresh meat. Only one of the kids working was friendly the rest of them have bad attitudes and act like they don't want to be there. 88 burger used to be ALOT better. I only eat here about once a year and every time it's disappointing.
I have never tried 88 burger. I went to check it out and I was standing by the window where it says to order and there are 3 people inside, it is open and the cashier is just doing something at the register (right up against the window where he could clearly see us) and didn’t even acknowledge me and my boyfriend standing there for 10 minutes. I don’t even care to try now. Very rude. Very bad service.
First time trying, lady at window was not friendly, after ordering wanted a tip, put machine in my face, A tip is for good service. She had did nothing, but I went ahead and gave a tip, not even a thank you. Waiting for my order. She came out to go home. No hi, just a dirty look, a bit of a wait. Not busy, good lord $39, milk shake a joke, not much above just milk, nasty. Only good thing at least the hamburger was good. Never stop here again.
Used to come here alot. Now not at all. Last visit it was over $30 for a double burger fries and a shake. What a joke. Locked the door now no indoor seating. Sad to see a classic county favorite fall so hard. Definitely a hard pass.
I live right up the street from this place and I used to eat here all the time , then the burgers got smaller the price higher and the service is atrocious. The last 5 times I've been there I asked for my fries to be golden crispy . Now how hard is it to cook a French fry? Each time they were limp white barely cooked fries . This time I took them back and had them cook them over. Unfortunately quality and service are a thing of the past but hey at least they still want to get tipped for handing food out a window.update I just went back here and my fries weren't done and they had the nerve to tell me those ar e done enough . Well if they were done enough I would t be standing there with a bag full of white half done fries and the burger was absolute crap greasy and tasted like crap . This place is not the same place as 10 years ago AVOID IT LIKE THE PLAGUE. Plus 2 burgers and fries that I couldn't even eat was 45 dollars.
Meh. Heard this was the best burger place in the area, so we paid a visit. My wife got a Slam burger with fries and I got an Italian sausage. The portion size of the fries was impressive. The taste was nothing special. I have never saw an Italian sausage look like the one I had. It looked like a churro almost. Now to the reason we came here; the burger. It was nothing special. Didn't even really taste grilled. I suppose the people in the area never had a great burger, if this is the go-to spot.
