Ambrosia Garden Astoria Reviews
What an incredible evening. From the moment you walk in, it feels like you’ve been transported into a stunning garden alleyway, intimate, charming, and beautifully designed. As you make your way toward the back bar and seating, you’re welcomed by the loveliest staff who instantly make you feel at home. From start to finish, cocktails, appetizers, and main courses, everything was top tier. Fresh, vibrant, full of flavor, and perfectly satisfying. We were treated so warmly, as if we were regulars who had known the owner for years. I truly can’t say enough about this place. Highly recommend.
Wanted to start out by saying the venue is romantic and a great date night restaurant. Had great ambiance and charm. First time trying Greek food and it was fantastic. Our server Pavlos was attentive, informative, and patient while I figured out what everything was. He recommended the youvetsi which was fantastic. My date is vegan and she had the Briam, which she said was delicious. I also had a dish that was literally a fried block of cheese and I loved it. The drinks were also great. I dont live in astoria but id go back to this restaurant.
This has become my go to spot. You’re always guarantee a delicious meal, great customer service and a relaxed atmosphere. I bring all my friends and family here and they all fall in love! My personal favorite is the Dakos salad, if a place is making a salad this incredible you can only imagine how great everything else is on the menu!
10/10 - ambiance, food, service! You can tell all profit is fresh! We will definitely come back. The backyard garden is so cozy and cute
Astoria is known for their great Greek food, and Ambrosia Garden makes great honor of that. Food was amazing, and the back patio looks perfect for date or a good time with family and friends. Definitely coming back
SIMPLY WOW! Feels like you are transported to a little restaurant in Greece. All of the food was to DIE FOR! The waiter was very attentive and professional and gave wonderful recommendations to my group who had no clue what any of the food was. Wonderful experience.
Amazing experience! The food was absolutely incredible, fresh and truly authentic, and the modern space has such a warm and welcoming vibe. One of my favorite dishes was the youvetsi, which Pablos recommended, and it was honestly amazing with so much flavor. Pablos, our waiter, was really professional and knew exactly what he was doing. He suggested the best dishes without us even looking at the menu, and every recommendation was perfect. I was honestly impressed. 100% recommend this place in Astoria!
Ambrosia Garden is truly a little gem — a hidden standout even among the many wonderful Greek restaurants in Astoria. Nico, the owner, together with his father, built this labor of love from the ground up — literally sourcing beautiful reclaimed wood and handcrafting the tables themselves. The space feels like stepping into a magical Aegean garden, intimate and transportive from the moment you walk in. That’s just the beginning. We were welcomed so warmly by a genuinely gracious staff who guided us through an incredible tasting experience featuring many of Nico’s grandmother’s cherished recipes. From the warm, homemade olive and sun-dried tomato bread that started the evening, to the unique and authentic starters, to perfectly executed mains — every dish felt thoughtful and deeply rooted in tradition. The wine and cocktail selections were fabulous, complementing the meal beautifully. And just when we thought it couldn’t get better, the team surprised us with a stunning assortment of their favorite desserts “on them.” They were all outstanding, especially a decadent chocolate pudding/mousse creation topped with nuts — we’re still talking about it. What makes Ambrosia Garden truly special is the feeling behind it all. The staff seemed genuinely happy and proud to help bring Nico’s dream to life, and that joy carries through the entire experience. It feels like a little vacation in the middle of Queens — perfect for family, friends, date night, or even a private celebration. We will absolutely be back.
We celebrated our dad's birthday there. The servers are very friendly and attentive... they even refrigerated the cake that we brought. The foods were delicious especially the branzino fish. Food portions are good. Atmospehere is kinda romantic with dim light and candles. Highly recommended 👌
Pretty backyard garden setting. The service was good. Food didn’t take long to be prepared. We ordered shareable plates and enjoyed the different flavours. Each dish had its unique taste. Highly recommend trying their Lemon Potatoes and Mavromatika!!! Portion size is a bit small, we ordered 8 items between 4 people. Did not take pictures of all the food we ate. The meal ended with a complimentary orange cake.
Amazing environment, inside of the restaurant feels like you took a step into Greece with an outdoor Greek ally style! They also have a large dining section in the back that is cute as well with similar vibes! All the food was extremely fresh! Trio dips were so good and the salad was fantastic! Great spot for friends or a date! No wait but snagged the last table at 7:30, so make reservations
Great meal. Walked by and decided to see if we could walk in and there was luckily a table available. Very nice atmosphere. The staff were all very kind and attentive, also enthusiastic. The waiter was helpful in giving us the highlights on the menu and steering us in the right direction for quantity to order. Everything was very good. We got the branzino, gigante beans, spinach pie, baked feta dip, and the star was the dakos salad. Would definitely recommend and return!
What a hidden gem!! The decor, atmosphere, service and the food here is 10/10!! Our server Omo was great. My party decided to get several sides and dishes to share. Every single thing was delicious !!! The enclosed garden area where we sat as stunning as well as the interior space. I highly recommended the following dishes: Tzatziki and spicy feta dips, Garides Saganaki, Sofrito, Papoutsakia and the Dakos salad If I’m ever in the area I’m coming back for sure !!!
Hands down best Greek restaurant in Astoria. And one of my all time favorites. You can feel the love and care that goes into this place. We ate at the bar and it was great experience. Everything was phenomenal, from the food, the atmosphere, the drinks, and the hospitality. This is now our go to spot.
This might be my favorite restaurant I've been to this year. My parents and I came here as an early birthday lunch for me, and I know we all like Greek / Mediterranean food, so I knew it would be good - but it honestly blew my expectations completely out of the water. We made a reservation, which was not necessary in hindsight, for Saturday lunch in the indoor garden. It was super picturesque and a total vibe on this chill fall day. Everything was such a vibe, you can tell they really put a lot of effort into making the space seem as tropical and comfortable as possible. They came out with free bread and a spicy olive oil, which was unlimited as well. We got the shrimp with feta and tomato sauce as an appetizer and oh my god - I am still thinking about that sauce today. It was addictive, I was literally eating it by itself, it was that good. For our mains, I got the Arni - a braised lamb dish with lemon coated potatoes. The lamb was great, not the best I've ever had but still pretty juicy and flavorful. The potatoes however, those were the star of the show. Super soft and the lemon flavor really stood out to me. At the end, they gave each of us a complimentary orange dessert, super tart and the vanilla cream on top perfectly complimented the sweet orange flavor of the dessert itself. They do this for every customer as a way of saying thank you. Truly incredible hospitality, this is how you keep customers coming back and becoming a part of the community. A true gem in Astoria, please come check them out if you haven't already.
Ambrosia is a Greek restaurant that I highly recommend. The food is exceptional and has a interesting twist on Greek cuisine. You will not be disappointed with your dining experience .Having a meal at ambrosia will make you feel so good that you are gonna highly recommend it to all your friends especially the ones you like. Niko, the owner is an exceptional person that loves what he is doing, it really shows in the decor ,service and of course the quality of the food. Be sure to make reservations because ambrosia really fills up fast
From the entrance to the cute and cozy garden seating area in the back that made you feel like you were actually in Greece, to the homemade slow cooked dishes, to the drinks and dessert, to the fresh and (actually flavored) fresh tomatoes in the salad, this place is an authentic secret Greek garden gem, loved everything about this place, can't wait to come back!
My friend and I went out for some drinks and ordered a cocktail that just wasn’t our vibe — nothing wrong with it, just not our taste. We were ready to pay and leave politely… but then the owner showed up. And let me tell you — there was no way he was letting us walk out unhappy! He insisted on making us a new drink tailored to what we like. The level of hospitality, care, and genuine kindness was something you don’t see every day. The interior is so beautiful — and the owner? A true gentleman. 10/10 energy. I never leave reviews, bad nor good, but this deserves a review 😊 Thank you again, we’ll definitely be back! 🥂💛
What a gem 💎!! A foodie friend of mind highly recommended this place and I’m glad I took her advice! Walking into the intimate space, one is immediately transported back to Greece. I felt like I was back in my beloved Crete- one of the best places I have ever visited. From the food to the atmosphere to the staff, it was theatre for the senses. Will definitely be back!! Yamas!! 🇬🇷
The food is absolutely delicious, the service is great, and the atmosphere is really nice! I love the way the restaurant is laid out to look like a narrow street in Greece. We ordered slow cooked beef and braised lamb, and both dishes were excellent. There was a complimentary dessert at the end of the meal that was also very tasty. It was a great spot for a date and we were very impressed. We are sure to return!
