Milkflower Astoria Reviews
Astoria for the win again. Milkflower was absolutely delicious and the service was immaculate. Staff was so attentive, despite it being extremely busy and the food came out so quickly. Don't sleep on that grilled octopus because it will change your life. And the squid ink pasta is a can't miss as well. Leftovers barely even make it into the fridge.
This was a great pizza place in Astoria. They made our dough fresh which took a bit of a wait but we ordered pasta and appetizers. There octopus and tiger prawns were good, although the shrimp were a bit small. The Caesar was good. Of the pastas, we liked the rigatoni but the other two I wouldn't order again. The pizza was great and i would definitely come back for it. The wood burning pizza oven makes a big difference
This is an easy five star wood fired pizzeria. Every pie made fresh and with top quality ingredients. There’s not a wrong choice on their entire menu. Awesome selection of wines and beers however, I do wish they had a full bar because that will elevate Milkflower to a six star review. Staff is super cool and the vibe is next level.
LOVE the pizza!! The place is kinda hard to get into but it is sooooo worth it! First the atmosphere and staff are great and amazing! And then food. First the meatballs in the appetizer were amazing! Then the signature margarita slice the queen was really good. Also tried their version of prosciutto(forgot the name) and that was also amazing!!! Would recommend.
Hidden gem in Astoria, NY. Walked in on a Friday night and seated immediately. Rustic vibes, felt like you were in a cabin of sorts, cool art and taxidermy on the walls. For starters we ordered the ricotta cheese with fig and honey served with a warm fruit & nut bread as well as some oven roasted vegetables (eggplant and zucchini). Both were awesome, I liked the veggies more - they were served over a bed of crème fresh & this lemon dressing. For pizza, we ordered the Queen (margherita) and the Stun Dunn (caramelized onions, scallions, gruyere cheese). Both were wood-fired and cooked to perfection. Wood fired pizza > any other style in my opinion. To close out our meal we ordered a Basque cheesecake topped with a blueberry compote and it was a 10/10 dessert 😮💨 Overall: 8/10
I tried Milk Flower for the first time, and now I understand why it’s so popular in Astoria. A friend and I ordered three pizzas just for the two of us… and we finished every slice! We paired them with a bottle of wine at her apartment — it was the perfect combo. The pizzas are artisanal Neapolitan-style, with a very original and well-balanced flavor. You can tell they use quality ingredients and really care about how each pizza is made. My friend says it’s the best pizza spot in Astoria, and my husband also mentioned it’s a well-known and highly regarded place in the area. For me, it was a great discovery, and I’d definitely go back. A great option for takeout and sharing with someone who truly appreciates good pizza. Update: also had dinner with friends twice. Everything was amazing!
Great pizza and meatballs. Grilled shrimp were tasty. And the Cabernet Franc was so good. The server was kind and helpful and the ambiance and decor were pleasant. Will definitely return.
The pizza here is AMAZING! The pizza dough is to die for! The dough is soft and chewy! We all loved it! We had the Stun Dunn, The Ghost, and The Queen with extra cheese. Our favorite was The Queen probably because we added extra cheese to that pie. All of them were delicious though. For dessert we had the basque cheesecake, chocolate budino and chocolate gelato. The basque cheesecake was FANTASTIC! I’d definitely order that again! The chocolate budino and chocolate gelato were good, but not good enough for me to order more than once. I highly recommend Milkfower in Astoria!
This place is an absolute gem! A favorite of mine for sure. The pizza options are fantastic and hard to choose from. Always deliciously crisp, yet soft dough with rich, balanced flavors for toppings. The seafood is always fresh and beautifully prepared, the meatballs are pretty traditional like nonna would make. Every dish, from the small bites to the big plates, are portioned just right. You can really taste the quality and care in every bite. The wine selection is excellent and paired perfectly with our meals. The service was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The atmosphere ties it all together; cozy and casual yet vibrant, with the perfect mix of energy and comfort.
Delicious brick-oven pizza in Astoria! Love this place but it gets packed so go during downtime! Food: Absolutely delicious. We get their pizzas and all are great, especially the spicy soppressata pizza. Their salads are plentiful and good as well. I would beware of their other appetizers though- some are quite small on portion sizes. Service: Consistently fast and efficient. Waters are always filled without promoting. Good comes out fast. Space: Quaint place, good for dates! We like bringing friends here and I know friends who like early dates here. Good vibes but does get packed quick.
I love this restaurant in our community. It’s cozy, warm, and inviting. Every dish we’ve tried are delicious. The margarita pizza stands out with its fresh tomato flavor, and the small plates are just as impressive, both in presentation and taste. Recommend! If the pasta could be fresh made then it would be perfect!
An unique pizza place with their own tastes and aesthetics. The food overall I’ll say 4ish⭐️ but 5 eventually considering the services and prices. No dishes over $25! We got the clam pizza which is a white flavor, no tomato. It tasted really special. Please remember to squeeze some lemon juice on the top! The did feel missing something without it. After adding it, the whole thing made sense..! Another one, classic pasta with tomato sauce. It was good but just a classic. My favorite.. goes to 🍫chocolate mousse! It was so rich, creamy, and well done! I would visit again for it✨
I've been meaning to come here for a long time and finally made it. Truly authentic brick oven pizza. Is all we came here for. Ne t time, I'll try the rest of the menu for sure. Pizzas were super yummy, and since we are in NY, pizza must be really good at all cost. And yes, we loved them. The service was good, and the location is very cozy. Def give it a try
4/5 - Picks below LOVE the honey addition to it! Everyone in the entire restaurant had pizza on their table Spicy Soppressata Pizza Tomato, mozzarella, basil, honey. Roasted Meatballs = OKAY Tomato, garlic confit, grana padano, and basil. Wood Roasted Octopus = PASS Wood Fired Octopus, Russet Potatoes, Kalamata Olives, Dill Haricot Vert = OKAY Radicchio, cara cara orange, ricotta salata, almonds, and citrus vinaigrette. Lumache pasta = OKAY pork ragu, chili, parmigiano-reggiano 4/5 - Service Service was smooth and all staff members were friendly throughout the entire experience. 4/5 - Ambience Cool spot that's very busy - clean, tidy without any issues.
We had a variety of pizzas, 1 pasta, 1 salad, 1 calzone, 1 panna cotta & 1 butter scotch. The calzone is very thin, which will preserve the crunchy crust. You must eat it quickly as it gets soggy rather quickly. The pizzas are very much like those you'll find in Italy. The pasta is good too, but I'll refrain from comparing it with pasta from Rome. Thin crust with very fresh & quality ingredients. Both the desserts are not too sweet. I like the Panna cotta best.
Food: pizzas were pretty good. Didn't love the side dishes as much. Felt like the octopus was not cooked enough or needed more of a grill on it. The meatballs were pretty good. And the broccoli rabe was nothing special. Service: waiter was attentive, gave suggestions, and water/wine was always refilled without any issues Ambiance: decor and music was nice. Walk in restaurant and came on a Wednesday night around dinner time with no issues getting seated.
