Figure 8 Coffee Purveyors Austin Reviews
I’m a coffee snob and after going to 15+ coffee shops in Austin, this is my go-to spot for cappuccinos. Would highly recommend. Vibe is great for reading or some laptop work (just need to get there early). 10/10 would highly recommend.
This place got packed right after we came in and you can see why! I'm a coffee snob and the picks for iced and espresso were approachable, but great! Not a burnt bean in sight! The staff are kind and knowledgeable. They make you want to come back. The vibe is vintage but chic. Everything is quality made and serves a purpose which gives the room a great flow and the coziness of a well-designed living room. There is seating for about 10 inside and a patio to seat about 15 outside. Parking is street parking, but it's a cute neighborhood. Keep an eye out for the neighborhood cats! I loved that you could see the grinding process right as you walked in, the merch is tasteful and highly wearable, and the music choice was fabulous. I see why everyone here seems like a regular - it makes you want to come back. It's by far our new favorite. Our reccs: try the *hot* matcha with whole milk, the espresso, the iced coffee, and grab a t-shirt (We didn't get a chance to grab a breakfast taco, but we will next time!)
While I didn’t have any of their food, I did have a fantastic hot latte. Not only did it taste great, it was beautifully presented. The shop was busy, but the service was friendly, efficient and speedy. The atmosphere is great too, inside and out. There’s decent seating inside and plenty of outdoor seating. Overall, great experience and look forward to getting another coffee there soon.
Absolutely phenomenal. This is craft coffee, unlike so many other Austin area shops that don’t come close. Figure 8 knows how to throw ‘spro. Beans are roasted in-house as well, which judging by the quality of the drinks they also excel at. I tried a pile of other shops in Austin before messaging my home town go-to (Lemma in D/FW), figuring Big Lemma himself might know where to go in A-Town. He suggested Figure 8, which was a home run. The aesthetic is also prime. Compact but with seating inside and out, dark tones… walking in you can tell it’s going to be 🔥.
I honestly dont know how this place stacks up to other coffee shops/roasters in the area because I couldn't peel myself away from here my entire visit to Austin. The coffee is excellent. Perfect, even. I haven't had an americano this good in a long, long time. And the tacos are really good too.
Figure 8 Coffee Purveyors has that unmistakable hipster charm, instantly reminding us of coffee spots in California. It feels deeply local—almost everyone inside seems like a regular, with no random foot traffic, which adds to its character. The interior is old-school in the best way possible. It looks like nothing has changed since the place first opened, possibly 30 years ago. This isn’t a flaw—it gives the space a relaxed, cozy atmosphere that makes you want to stay a while. Coffee bags and a massive, monolithic coffee roaster dominate the space, reinforcing the serious approach to coffee. The espresso setup is also impressive, with two different options to choose from—something you rarely see, as most cafés only offer one. It’s a small shop with a limited but well-curated selection of desserts. The service is friendly and welcoming, making the experience even better. They also seem to have a strong wine selection, suggesting that this isn’t just a morning café but a place that transitions into an evening spot as well. The presence of greenery throughout the space adds to the overall warmth and comfort. Figure 8 isn’t just a coffee shop—it’s a place with a soul, where every detail contributes to a laid-back yet high-quality experience. Highly recommended for coffee lovers who appreciate authenticity and a true local vibe.
This coffee shop is a tiny one, with amazing coffee and roughly 7 2-person tables located very close to one another. There’s also a bar and outdoors sitting area. There was WiFi and parking available. I ordered a regular hot latte. Loved the beans! The music was a bit too loud and the tables were too close, but it was palatable for a coffee shop of that size. If you need to work on your laptop for a short assignment and enjoy a good coffee, then this spot is great.
We all know Autin is known for its delicious food but Austin also has an amazing coffee culture. We went to Austin for a long weekend and went to Figure 8 on two of the three mornings we were there. I loved how they had 2 different types of espresso so when I ordered my iced americano, I talked with the barista about which espresso bean they recommended (I've never been to a coffee shop that had multiple espresso bean options). I also tried their iced coffee and that was strong and delicious! We enjoyed sitting out in front of the shop (it's fully shaded). The team was fantastic!! So friendly and enjoyable to chat with. A great coffee shop that LOVES and makes GREAT coffee.
Very cute place with limited inside setting. They grind their own beans as you can see in the video. They do have free WiFi and outdoor seating! Value - fair Ambiance - it’s a small sitting area Service - helpful and very fast service but it’s not a sit down service Taste - good and very fresh Overall - I recommend ♥️
“Only visit coffee shops that begin with the letter F,” was the sage advice I received before checking out Figure 8 coffee Purveyors in Austin, Texas. I normally get Americanos, and for this trip I had two I got to choose from. My Ethiopian deflection had a soft raspberry notes with a wonderful cacao finish. The space was modern while welcoming. Others around me seemed comfortable for better there while they meet with friends or worked on their things they need to work on. I would have gone more if it was more central, but that maybe way it had a local feel to it. So I wouldn’t change that.
They display what coffees/origins they are serving. They have iced coffee rather than just cold brew, which I personally prefer. Coffee itself was flavorful, though my partner's iced latte lacked some flavor. Service was fast and atmosphere is youthful and fun.
This spot is very small with limited work spaces with charging ports indoors. I think it’s pricier for what it’s worth but wanted to try something new. The ambience is a cute little hipster store and they have decent options. Not my favorite coffee shop but worth trying at least once!
Really cute coffee shop! Lots of people were here sipping coffee and enjoying their Sunday mornings. I came by for a decaf cappuccino with oat milk. Truthfully, it wasn’t good but I rarely find places that nail a decaf. So I knocked a star off. I saw they had chocolate chip cookies so I also gave it a try. It was pretty good! A little salted on the top, good quality chocolate chips, and cooked well. The staff is really friendly and there’s plenty of seating inside and outside. The shop itself is just really cool too with their wine selections, various sacks of coffee beans and their giant grinder in the back.
The coffee was honestly disappointing. I got an iced americano with oat milk and their seasonal pumpkin miso syrup and the coffee was incredibly watered down and not even full to the top. I was hoping to see a nitro or regular cold brew on tap, or a seasonal menu but there weren’t any.
