Nasha Austin Reviews
Kind staff, delicious and unique food! We enjoyed all the flavors. We got the tikka con queso, Aloo Gobi enchiladas, Biryani chicken and Nan. We’ll definitely return. Sizable portions too.
Been wanting this try this one for a while, and it did not disappoint. Great fries, nachos, chili relano, and chimichungas
What a great little gem just east of downtown Austin. I have never had chicken tandoori tacos and I am glad I tried these ones. Great place to trying something a little different in a good way. 👍 Service was exceptional as well.
I’m not an Indian food connoisseur but I thought my food was amazing. So much so, that I looked forward to eating my leftovers the next day. I moved to Austin about two months ago and this is one of my best meals. I had the Tikka Changa, Garlic Naan, and the Summer Lemonade (Vodka). It was great!
Austin staple that continually impresses. I could not be more grateful for this restaurant they're creative cuisine as well as their traditional quality values and decoration. A perfect place to catch up with an old friend and keep ordering. Thank you for continuing to impress me. I hope you stay an Austin staple for many years to come.
This is an excellent Indian-Tex-Mex fusion restaurant with an interesting range of options of my favorites: from meat or veggie Tikka Masala to meat or veggie Tandoori Tacos. All are excellent. A great place to dine alone or with friends and family. Has the common Austin problem of a small parking lot. Sometimes I crave their food but they're crazy busy and there's nowhere to park. Pretty reasonably priced compared to their competition.
We loved their week night happy hour with discounts on appetizers and drinks. The pomegranate margarita was great and all the appetizers we tried were delicious, especially the queso. It has several indoor and outdoor tables and a bar. There's a small parking lot and free parking on nearby streets. We look forward to going back!
Wow! I had the most amazing experience tonight! I placed a takeout order and was pleasantly surprised. The ambiance is stunning and the aroma is simply mouth-watering while you wait for your food! You can't help but wonder if someone's mom is back making homemade samosas and more. I have my order and I can't stop devouring it. I ordered the tiki masala, I might be spelling it wrong. I didn't expect to love it so much since I thought I've tried them all before. But let me tell you, as a food critic, this is hands down the best item on the menu for me! I am genuinely amazed by it, especially knowing it's made from cashews that they import themselves. I picked to have lamb with my order and it is so delicious! It's truly out of this world! I'm absolutely in love. I'm already looking forward to going back tomorrow! Haha, this is definitely the best restaurant Indian -Spanish vibe in ATX.
This place is one of those special Austin gems! While we want it to succeed, we hope it doesn't get too crowded. That said, Nasha arrived in East Austin in 2014 a couple years after we did. Ever since, it's been our go to place for really solidly good Indian food. We love the homey, colorful atmosphere too and have celebrated birthdays and other fun times here. It's a great place for romance too. The beverages are refreshingly different. My fav is the cardamom margarita. Phil's is the curry margarita. Sometimes we order the Mexican Martini with a little added cardamom. Food: The Tika Masala is hands down one of our favorites; rich, creamy spicy sauce, but not too spicy, over rice definitely activates the endorphins. The Biryani is also a favorite and perfect to bring home for leftovers. The garlic hot nan (bread) is to die for. And we love ordering papadam (crunchy lentil wafers) with the green chili sauce that seems to contain both cilantro and possibly mint. One cannot forget the samosas-little fried empanadas, stuffed with goodness, which are served steaming hot. We've come here so much, we've gotten to know the owners who are just wonderful people! Overall this is a true Austin gem, friendly and warm, and with amazing Indian fare.
I’ve been to Nasha soooo many times and have never been dissatisfied! I often bring friends and family from out of town here and everyone always begs to go back on subsequent visits, it’s that good. They have one of the best patios in town, and such a sweet ambiance. I’ve never had an unfriendly interaction with the staff, everyone here is always so kind and helpful. The food is a well balanced menu of Indo-Tex-Mex Fusion. My non-negotiables are a pitcher of pomegranate margaritas (they have an insanely good bar menu) and orders of veg samosas, Tikka con queso, and garlic naan for the table! Dinner-wise I usually get an order of medium spicy Chana masala with paneer, it’s a boring order but so so good. This is also a great spot for share plates with friends, and I’ve tried the tikka enchiladas, paneer quesadillas, onion pakoda, and a variety of their (very robust) curries selection this way. Pricing wise I’ve spent anywhere from 20-50 per person, and for a sit down vibe like this and the healthy portions I don’t think that’s a stretch at all! And if I remember correctly, they have some pretty decent happy hour deals. Nasha is an insanely good East 7th option that is almost sure to have something for everyone at your table!
Nasha is a hidden gem offering a creative Tex-Mex twist served Indian-style, and it completely lived up to our expectations! With a warm and inviting vibe, it’s the perfect place for a late-night meal, staying open until 11 PM. After landing in Austin late in the evening, our craving for Indian flavors brought us here, and we couldn’t have made a better choice. The experience started with a thoughtful touch—they served papad (roasted chips) accompanied by salsa and green sauce. This appetizer sets the perfect tone for the meal. While the papad is flavorful, it can be a bit spicy for some, so starting with a small piece is a good idea to gauge your tolerance. Our host, Jorge, was exceptional—attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to ensure everything was to our liking. For the main course, we ordered from the curries section, which comes with basmati rice. We tried: - Paneer Shahi Korma: A rich and creamy curry with a subtle sweetness that made it luxurious yet comforting. - Paneer Tikka Masala: Classic and flavorful, with perfectly cooked paneer and a tomato-based gravy that hit all the right notes. For one of the orders, we substituted white rice with brown rice, a welcome option for those looking for something lighter. We also added a couple of garlic naans, which were soft, buttery, and complemented the curries beautifully. They took our spice level preferences into account and nailed it, delivering dishes that were perfectly balanced and flavorful. The food was exceptional—fresh ingredients, bold flavors, and expertly cooked curries. The texture of the paneer was impeccable—soft, fresh, and delicious. From the roasted papad starter to the main courses, everything was delightful. Nasha delivers an excellent dining experience with a unique Indian-Tex-Mex flair. It’s a must-visit spot in Austin for Indian food lovers. Highly recommended, and we’re already looking forward to returning!
Vibe- Very nice restaurant with plenty of seating inside and outside under a nice patio like space. Customer service- Great! Food/drinks- Tofu vegan taco plate (I wish the tofu had more seasoning but it was alright) + Momma’s Summa Lemonade Parking- There’s a few spaces in the lot and some street parking near by
One word… IMPECCABLE 👌 the food reminds me of my friends mom’s homemade Indian food…Very traditional with fresh onions on top of the salsa (chefs kiss!). And with the infusion of the Mexican culture meals as well was mind blowing 🤯!!! Highly recommend this spot! Oh and the happy hour is until 7 & is 🔥
Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious! Everyone was super friendly and the vibe inside is super cute and cozy. Highly recommend :)

The food is tasty and unique. The staff is so friendly. It pretty much checks all of my boxes, but the music could use some variety. Top 40 pop is usually playing. The general vibe is chill, but Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift coming through the speakers really takes me out of it.
Everything was good. The food was certainly Indian, but had less flavor than I expected having had food from many other local Indian joints. Adjustable spice levels are always nice. If you're a spice fan like myself, desi hot is where you want to be. They also have spice shakers so you can adjust it yourself which is a game changer! Service is casual, but accurate, if not attentive. Ambience is casual and artistic, and unpretentious. Give this place a shot!

Lots of great vegetarian options. Food is unsurprisingly spicy. We really enjoyed our meal especially the tostadas. Only issue is that is on the higher end of prices.
We were a group of five and ended up here, last night — mainly because it was the closest Indian restaurant in the area. Honestly, we didn’t have high expectations, but the positive online reviews convinced us to give it a try. Food : We started with a quick appetizer – Onion Pakoda, followed by Millionaires Curry, Ghati masala dal and a mix of Jalapeño Naan and Garlic Naan. We also tried their Paneer Burrito and Tacos, both of which were decently prepared and satisfying. However, the Millionaires Curry was a letdown —made with canned tomato purée and loaded with cauliflower and potato stuffing. The flavor felt too sweet and lacked authentic spice balance, making it one of the weaker dishes we tried. The gravy quantity also felt on the smaller side for a main entrée. Service & Ambience: The service was quick and efficient, which we really appreciated. But the ambience could use a refresh — the restaurant has an old-building charm with vintage-colored walls and dated furniture, which might not appeal to everyone. Though they have both indoor and outdoor seating, the outdoor section was closed when we arrived, which was disappointing since we were hoping to sit outside on a summer night. The restrooms were decently maintained, but overall, the space would benefit from a little modern uplift to enhance the dining vibe. Final Verdict Score: 6/10 A reasonable option for a quick Indian meal if you’re in the area, but the flavors and ambience need a stronger comeback.

We visited Nasha, excited to see a menu inspired by gaon (village-style) foods. However, the experience didn’t quite meet our expectations. While the concept intrigued us, the staff lacked warmth, which slightly dampened the ambiance. We ordered onion pakoda, Koliwada shrimp, teesre (clams), daal, and bhakri. Unfortunately, the flavors were underwhelming, and the dishes didn’t stand out as we had hoped. While the idea is promising, the execution left much to be desired. Hoping for better in the future!

Food is bad: small portions, ingredients felt like "out of a jar", overall food was like something your friend would scrape together in a college dorm. Menu had "fusion" but nothing was fusing together. Tables outside were terrible: they were tilted and the metal plates (if you can call them that) just slid right off. Had to use one hand to hold plate in place and use other hand for silverware. Service was whatever. Definitely better restaurants for cheaper prices available
Food was mid, but what was worse was their blatant disrespect of the Hindu religion and culture. There was an idol of a god, Ganesha, placed amidst liquor bottles. There were multiple other locations present that the idol could've been kept very respectfully, such as on a floating shelf across the room. It was really disturbing to see they chose to go with such a disrespectful location. It's really not kitchsy or fun to do that with idols that hold such significance to other people.
