Yogurt Story Bartonville Reviews
Owners welcomed us coming in. Had a whole conversation with them about raising kids while we were there. Really friendly people.
I do not remember her name, but the young lady with the pretty hair and the badass tattoos always takes excellent care of me! This is the only place I go to treat myself to froyo!
Great experience! The location is clean both the seating, yogurt machines, and toppings bar. All of the machines worked and had a variety of flavors. The owner was working was extremely nice as well. He was very personable and made my children feel special. My 2 children and I got (3) 16oz cups fully loaded. It was $32 which I think is completely reasonable!
Owners were very friendly, many different flavors and toppings to choose from. We had a great experience, we will definitely be back!
The best husband and wife duo serving up frozen yogurt in the DFW!!! They are too kind and a pleasure to speak with. This is the ONLY frozen yogurt spot my husband and I frequent. My favorite flavor is cookies and cream, of course! While my husband's favorite is cake batter. It's the flavor variety and endless toppings, clean and friendly environment for me! We love it here! 🍨Go check them out!😊
Always a blast coming here! I feel like I can indulge in all the toppings without being judged, haha. Owners keep the place nice and clean!
I had a great experience at this location. We arrived around 15 minutes before they closed and both employees working were very nice and helpful. They have more flavors at this location also. The price isn't at a set rate, it's by weight. So if you get a lot of fruit that is bulky, the price is going to go up. I paid $12 for 2 which was completely okay with me
this is my favorite yogurt place! i have always loved the staff, they are so sweet every time and genuinely want to make conversation with you, definitely the treat everyone like family type!!
This is my absolute favorite yogurt shop! They have the best selection of flavors and toppings and the owners are super friendly.

I have been coming to this yogurt story for about ten years with my kids and will never take them to any other yogurt place! We love the owners! They make us feel like family every time we go! The store is always so clean and thd selection of yogurt is amazing! I could go on and on about how we love this place! I would highly recommend!
I haven't been to a Yogurt Story in a few years, the Roanoke and other Denton locations shut down a little while ago. This was a nostalgic look back into my young childhood. The owners were very nice and the food was great! Will be returning soon!
Not sure why there are bad reviews…I had a phenomenal experience at yogurt story. The yogurt is SO good and there are SO many toppings. We watched on of the workers continuously put the toppings out so they were full and fresh. The workers were really nice and polite. I live 30 minutes away, but I would drive 30 minutes again for this yogurt!

نكهات مختلفه في كل مناسبه وخدمة ممتازه ومريحه والموظفين جداً مرحيين وطيبين وهو المحل المفضل عندي ولكن افتقد وجود نكهة القهوه جداً Different flavors for every occasion, excellent and comfortable service, and the staff are very comfortable and kind, and it's my favorite store, but I miss the coffee flavor too. The other shop on University Street is staffed by employees I think from the state of India in fact I did not like their treatment at all, they are watching everyone entering what he does and we do not take them from the cups of taste easily and even spoons ask what color you want and when we tell them that we have a school card they force us to take it out because they do not trust
The owner of this establishment came up to me while I was sitting on their couch and suggested that I should move from a couch to a stool because I was sitting there for awhile and family’s may want to sit down. The store was almost empty when she came up to me to suggest this. I don’t believe my presence on one cushion would stop anyone from sitting down. It was inappropriate and made me fell very uncomfortable because it wasn’t necessary to do. Was a nice environment but due to this I will no longer be returning. If there was a sign that said there was a minimum seating time for smaller parties or more couches that would be better then telling a customer to just get up.
This Yogurt Story is run by a very very uptight couple who act extremely rude and suspicious of everyone who comes in the store. They have a lot of "rules" for the store. I came to this location fairly often since I lived pretty close by, and eventually they got to know me and would actually smile at me. I feel like they have a "customer EARNS the customer service" attitude. There was even a time I used the bathroom and it shares a wall with their "employee only" closet, and heard what was unmistakably things being thrown and male and female screaming at each other. The attitude problems and the screaming are very off putting. I recommend the 288 location, those employees offer excellent service and great yogurt selection.
I've got no problem with COVID safety. I have a problem being lied to. We were told they'd suspended tasting flavors because somehow you'd get more germs on the handles using a small, tasting cup than a big cup (exactly the same process unless people are eating it with their fingers). Anyway, it wouldn't have been a big deal if there weren't a trashcan full of dirty tasting cups (see picture). So, which is it? We're they lying about allowing tastes or have they not cleaned up around their toppings since before COVID protocols? Either way, go to the one on Loop 288 (10 minutes south), instead. So much cleaner and friendlier! Also, the flavor combinations are better (unless you LIKE pina colada/cinnamon roll).

I went in for a water because it’s Texas and people get thirsty, which was a great price of $1 and very cold! I had to meet the card minimum of $3 so I ordered a milk tea bubble tea. The service was terrible through the whole experience - from a rude older couple I’m assuming to be the owners. My milk tea was terrible. The few bobas there were had a gritty consistency, with rock hard centers. I don’t know how long these had been sitting out, but they definitely shouldn’t have been serving boba in this condition. When I voiced my concern about the quality of the boba I was responded to rudely and made to feel stupid because I was told I just shouldn’t have ordered the boba if I didn’t want it. So I left frustrated and threw the tea away in the nearest trash can because it was undrinkable. Terrible experience, great water though.
Rude couple running this Yogurt Story on University in Denton, Tx. We (3 of us) asked for taster cups. Literally one cup given to us... not one each. One cup. We asked again, two more were given and man said "No more". So one taster cup among the different flavors to try. Woman mocked me as I spoke to a family member; Man watched us with his arms crossed like he was a body guard... The vibe I felt was 'we may "steal" fro-yo'. That's the best way I can explain it. Woman asked that we not drop yogurt on the catch tray below the yogurt. ?? She was visibly irritated as she cleaned it. Other catch trays were visibly dirty with yogurt... She cleaned the ONE we spilled on and left the others dirty. We felt unwelcome and disrespected. Their demeanor was unpleasant. I sought to do this review on purpose. Me and my family will not revisit this establishment. (Saturday, July 1, 2018 evening)
rude staff and unkempt atmosphere, the lady at the counter was more worried about video chatting on her phone than taking care of customers and then I couldn’t even eat my yogurt comfortably in there because she was práctica yelling on the phone. She disappeared to the back and left me waiting to pay at the front for a long time while another man (maybe her husband) who obviously worked there sat at a table also on his phone. I also thought it was more expensive than the other yogurt story at almost 7$ for a cup that wasn’t full and had a splash of graham cracker crumbs and nuts on top.
Great yogurt and toppings but I won’t be back! They gauge you with their prices. SO expensive and difficult to communicate with. I seriously think they weigh it and then round up when it’s already expensive. I’ll go to the store and buy ice cream. Owners park right outside the door entrance every time. Clearly not about the customers.
When I asked for sample cups, they told me no, which I thought was unreasonable. Why should I spend my money on yogurt without knowing how it tastes and possibly not liking it? Practically every yogurt place offers sample cups. If they're concerned about germs, they should reconsider being in the food business, as this situation is bound to happen. Furthermore, I've never encountered a frozen yogurt place where they scold you for spilling a little bit under the levers. Working in a restaurant myself, I understand that cleaning up after customers, including sweeping up crumbs, is part of the job. However, I would never yell at them for a minor spill, as the owner of this place did for just a drop. To top it off, when I finally selected my yogurt, it came out watery, so I decided to discard my cup and leave. None of the other flavors appealed to me, and the previous incident of being yelled at still bothered me. As I walked out, the owner yelled at me once again, instructing me to never do that again. This was a terrible customer service experience and a disappointing yogurt selection. I would recommend going to the other frozen yogurt place near Chipotle, where the staff is much friendlier and accommodating. I'd rate this experience 0 out of 10.
I never write reviews but I had to for this. Me and my boyfriend were yelled at by the owner for pouring out a little yogurt after tasting it since we saw they had no sample cups and had no idea that you get charged for tasting a small amount. She demanded that we pay even though it was an honest mistake. Policy or not didn’t need to chase us down and scream at us. Overall awful experience.
Bad atmosphere, no restroom, no tasting cups, and owners who watch you like a hawk. Terrible pricing ($20 for two small cups is insane) the choices are limited (all sweet, candy ones like oreo, reese's, etc - no fruit flavors, unfortunately) i do like their toppings selection. Would not recommend
Talk about not feeling welcome. The second you walk in, they don't say hello, they just stare at you. Awkward. The surveillance cameras everywhere really add to the experience.
Definitely don’t recommend. Staff was not welcoming. They don’t have much of selection of yogurt to choose from expect candy flavor (which is all artificial)They also don’t provide sample cups. **We ended up going to BRAUM’S, it’s VERY good, nice staff, just down the street , it’s cheaper, they have ALOT of ice cream flavors , and all of the ice cream is made in a family farm. (they DO provide samples)** ***RESPONSE TO OWNER*** This has NOTHING to do with the sample cups. And how DARE you accuse me of writing a “FALSE” review this was my honest and true experience. But by the looks of your reviews, you should probably work on FIXING the issues with your business instead of arguing with customers. It’s so sad that you don’t get much business and can remember a customer and also kinda creepy because I didn’t even introduce myself. This business is getting a bad review every other day. So GLAD I took my business elsewhere !!! ***ANY POTENTIAL FUTURE CUSTOMER*** Listen to the reviews & save yourself a trip.
From the start the experience was awful. This was our first time here. I already had a weird feeling going into to store. We weighed and paid for our items and once we got into the car my boyfriend found a hair in his food. He went inside to see what they can do and the manager wouldn’t even apologize and blamed us. We didn’t even want a refund or a replacement, we just wanted to bring it to his attention and he would no give us the time of day. I honestly believe it was because we look young and are people of color.
I got yelled at by some man for dumping my yogurt. The policy for dumping the yogurt is like 10 ft up so how would I know the policy upon walking in? I also couldn’t find the sample cups so how am I supposed to know if I’m gonna like it? Yeah this was terrible I’m never returning.
$60 for 4 frozen yogurts!!! Their price is ridiculous. NO WONDER ITS EMPTY. To top it off their fruits are frozen and can fruit. It was NO for my kids they end up throwing away. Definitely not coming back highly recommend going somewhere else.
would NOT recommend to anyone! the environment of the store was horrible. we were stared down by the lady and her husband as soon as we walked in and the entire time we were there. this was our first time being there, and was just trying to grab a late night treat. my boyfriend was choosing his toppings and he ate a gummy bear off his froyo - then the lady proceeded to tell him not to until he paid which he apologized for and continued to try to pay for his and my item. i didn’t put all the toppings i wanted on mine which i was waiting in line to do - she proceeded to say his cup alone was 15 dollars which not only was the smallest cup in the store, honestly a small amount of ice cream and a reasonable amount of toppings (which we have gotten two small froyo cups at another place for $14, but at this point it’s not even about money) but we obviously thought it was unreasonable. my boyfriend said no thanks and proceeded to try to throw his cup away (which the lady tried to stop him) - it wasn’t something he wanted to pay for ONE froyo cup - on top of mine. which IM SURE isn’t what they charged anyone else in the store while we were in there. she proceeded to scream at him in front of everyone to which caused a scene which honestly was embarrassing and at that point we felt he was being discriminated against. i defended him & said it wasn’t cool she was acting like that towards us. i threw mine away as well and we proceed to leave while they’re still screaming at us. they threatened to cal the police on us, which they did end up calling security i guess lol. the security guard was a white man on the bigger side had ended up walking towards my car, asked what happened which i tried to explain which got us no where. he started making petty remarks and was honestly harassed by him. with seeing other reviews honestly this place is an horrible establishment, has horrible hospitality, and horrible “security”. don’t waste your time here.
Prices are ridiculous… we paid $30 for two cups. The owners are so pushy and love to push the spoons or lids on while the cups are on the scales to make the prices higher. RESPONSE TO OWNER'S REPLY BELOW: Y'all just love to argue with consumers huh??? It wasn't a misunderstanding if I was there and had a witness. I didn't ask for a lid yet I was STILL given one AT THE EXACT MOMENT I PUT MY CUP ON THE SCALE. This isn't an isolated incident as it has happened to me twice before but I tried to give the lady the benefit of the doubt and say nothing until now that the prices keep going up for the same thing I get every time. This response is disgusting and I hope other customers see this. There's a reason there are so many other people that have left 1 star reviews.
This location is totally different from the Loop 288 location. There are no disposable cups for tasting. This location seems terrified of germs. The owners are very rude. No restroom to wash your hands. Which seems odd for a food place. I see why their business is slow. Maybe they should not be in the business of serving food items if they are so scared of germs. I will not spend my money there again. The response from the owner was a bold faced lie. SMH!
Been here multiple times and just put my head down and didn’t pay attention to the workers/owners. But can honestly say that I’ve never been a fan after eating it every time. Also, after reading how the owner responds to negative reviews, I will never be returning and advise most people to do the same.
We walked in and asked for sample cups and the owner refused even though there were sample cups in the trash from other people. We were dressed nicely and we were very polite. The owner was very rude and off-putting so we left.
Expensive, no sample cups, out of multiple toppings and flavors
It used to be better when I was a kid. I came back when I moved up here [for the nostalgia, you know], but it’s lost its glow. The staff isn’t really that friendly & the atmosphere is just... not magical anymore. The staff also looks at you like you’re an animal if you ask for a sample cup. The fruit toppings are made for giants instead of reasonably sliced, so they trick you into spending much more than you need to.
There are no discounts here, they don't want you to taste "too much" frozen yogurt and limit taster cups to one per person. If you'll ask for more, they will give you a weird look. Customer service is poor. I rate this place negative 10 frozen yogurts out of 10. I would prefer the location by loop 288. Do not go here!

I should have read the reviews prior to coming here. I was charged $36 for me and my two kids….$36!!!!
Store owner is so rude. We asked politely for sample cups which we were told they didn’t have any. We used the regular cup to sample and didn’t like the flavor so threw the cup away. The owner proceeded to dig in the trash for our cup and slam it on the table saying it was “unacceptable” and yelled at us. Over very bad experience would not recommend this place by any means.
I read the reviews but wanted frozen yogurt. Maybe they want to go broke here. Lol. This place smelled bad and I could tell in 10 steps the owner was going to try and Hawkeye us & be super stingy about every half ounce of frozen yogurt. This company will be gone soon bc they don’t value customers.
I'm glad others mentioned that it smells terrible. It honestly grossed me out. Poor customer service as well. Just go to Pooky's Famous Yogurt or regret coming here. Pooky's is the best fro-yo in Denton.
no customer service. the place smelled and they have no sample cups at all. why would i pay for something if i can’t taste the flavor beforehand? the lady at the counter wasn’t the most welcoming either. better places out there!
DISGUSTING AND DIRTY!!!!! Walked out. The coconut looks like it had been handled by 50 million people and never wiped down. So gross!
I was here last Friday, but the owner just kept staring at me… it just makes everything so uncomfortable. About the food… the yogurt itself was normal BUT the gummies… they were way beyond rancid! They were impossible to chew, I’m pretty sure they were expired. Also, $20 for two bowls with barely any toppings it’s just too much. I don’t recommend this place.
Do not support this business. I’m not one to ever post negative reviews, but I’m not sure how this place is still in business. The negative reviews don’t surprise me as the owner is in fact rude. My toddler wasn’t allowed to eat her kids meal from another restaurant although my mother and I were going to buy yogurt here. Place was completely empty too. Not sure how they make their money or if they even make any. Places like this don’t need to be in business.
Not that my review will be any different than the many others listed here BUT - incredibly rude owner. My 13 year old daughter dumped some yogurt out of her cup that she didn’t like and was border line harassed by the owner for doing so. She made such a show about us having to pay for it, which we said multiple times we would, she even WEIGHED IT in front of us and then they didn’t even charge us for it. It took everything in me not to walk out without paying for the over priced 4 bowls of frozen yogurt our family came for. To make it worse, we were there to celebrate our younger daughter’s birthday. She made my daughter cry, absolutely terrible experience and it is no surprise why the store is completely empty.
Very empty and unwelcoming, the owners are always on their phone when I come in and have always been rude and watched me right over my shoulder. Nobody stays in to enjoy the yogurt due to how uncomfortable the owners make it. The prices are ridiculous and they do not allow you to test flavors due to “COVID” (3 years later guys really?) it seems as though they are pinching pennies. Not a good experience when they berated my younger cousin for dumping out a small amount of yogurt when she accidentally got the wrong one. It took me months to go back, and when I did the anxiety I had walking in was high. It is sad for a yogurt shop in a great area that should be a fun welcoming environment. No music either. Very odd.
Avoid this place. Interior didn’t look clean and they refuse to offer sample cups. For a place with 3 stars, being unable to sample their flavors is a red flag.
Nasty bathrooms, seating area looks like it hasn’t been cleaned properly in ages. Angrily irate when I asked about sample spoons. Poor attitude, inflated prices and neglected cleaning. This place is about as trash as the owners attitude.
My partner and I came to celebrate our anniversary and we didn’t have a good experience at all. It was almost $25 for two cups of yogurt and the owners all sat in the lobby staring at us. No sample cups allowed and the environment was empty, cold, and unwelcoming. One of the owners also parked his Porsche in the fire lane illegally… very strange situation overall if you ask me….
I never leave bad reviews but the situation at YogurtLand was ridiculous. We had never been here before and when we arrived we asked for sample cups. They said they don't do that anymore so I tried a bit of yogurt from my cup to ensure I liked the flavor. My partner got his flavor and did not like it so he dumped it out in the grates which we thought was okay to do if we did not like a flavor. The owner snuck up and stood behind my partner waiting for him to turn around. When he did the owner rudely said in a loud stern voice "What is this?" and told us we had to pay for what was dumped out. He pointed to rules that are way too high that state you will be charged for yogurt you waste. It would have been reasonable if the signage was at eye level or those rules had been clearly expressed as we entered but they were not. Alternatively, they could've given us a warning as we had never been here before but the owner spoke to us as though we had ill intentions in what we did. If we did not already have yogurt in our hands we would've walked out but we knew most likely the owner would make us pay for those too. Not wanting conflict we said we would pay for it and watched the owner as he put the yogurt into a cup to weigh to charge us. He ended up dropping the yogurt on the floor and we attempted to help him clean it up but he objected and seemed very angry still. We finished and paid for our yogurt which was ridiculously expensive. There are many other reviews where the owner has yelled over this rule and I suggest you avoid this place. The owner's negative attitude made us very upset when we were just trying to have a nice time getting frozen yogurt.
