Chris' Dinet Binghamton Reviews
Go almost everyday for breakfast and I always love it. It was my late wife's favorite place to eat.
Have so many Happy memories 💓 The food is great never had any problems, plus it's Worth the money, a portion size is the best always have takehold. Love this place. 😀
Chris’ diner was a pleasant surprise. We came here on the recommendation from a friend. We were looking for a simple inexpensive place and this diner fit the bill perfectly. It’s an old casual diner; a little worn and dated, but comfy. The three things that stood out was how reasonable the prices were, how large the portions were and how extremely attentive and friendly the service was. This was in spite of it being extremely busy. We came around noon and our group ordered breakfast and lunch. The food was very good. It was fresh and tasty. What really left a good impression was just how wonderful our waitress was. Just always friendly and checking to see that everything was OK and we had what we wanted. This is one of the rare times where I actually felt good tipping extra. These days I find that the service at restaurants are adequate at best and not worth a 20% tip, but not here. I’ll definitely be making this one of my regular spots. Highly recommended👍
The best bacon I have ever tasted in my life! Perfectly cooked large portion Everything about this place was perfect! The waitress was top notch Even though the dinning room was packed you were treated like you were the only one there Definitely my only "Breakfast Place" to go!!!! I had made a mistake and had written this same review for the Greek House Diner But I had eaten at Chris' Dinner not The Greek House Thank you for a very enjoyable dinning experience!
We had a waitress named Kerry . Our drinks came out quickly and as well as our breakfast. Could not believe how much home fries we got. Excellent breakfast and Kerry kepted my husband's coffee cup filled. Kerry had very friendly attitude. Prices are very reasonable, will go back and try lunch sometime. Family run restaurants. Pleasant atmosphere to eat. Husband remarked how clean restroom was.
If you wanna wholesome atmosphere, that is perfect for the family easy on the budget with wonderful Home-cooked meals As well as traditional Greek specialty items you can't go wrong when you choose Chris Diner! Believe me, you will not leave hungry!
The best diner in the town. The service is pretty good. I love the foods here. They are always delicious. You have to wait too long but above all, pretty good.
This is the greatest diner I have been to in a long time. Have to say, that lamb gyros with ziki with everything, is my all time go to. Has never disappointed me. I look @ the menu, order that when asked....lol... sorry, no photos this time, will try to get one, some....
In town for college visit and found this gem. Not sure if this is downtown but it's close to some gallery. The street looks fun and colorful. The diner has a blue and white outside. It's a tad older when u walk inside...but everything else made up for it. We were greeted and was told to sit anywhere we like. There were 2 rooms. We found a booth in the next room. Our wait staff came by right away and took our drink order. Menus were already on the table. It's moving swiftly. The food was so good and the price so reasonable and our wait staff was so sweet and courteous. She was working the room by herself and she did it with a great smile. Will def be back again for more breakfast/brunch or even lunch
Chris' Diner is a family-owned and operated Greek Diner and it is a refreshing change from the chain restaurants. Delicious breakfast and value meals prepared with love and pride coupled with awesome and friendly customer service. Upon entering the establishment, we were immediately greeted by the wife/co-owner, Nikki is also the very friendly host. She immediately seated us and we both started our brunch with bold, hot cups of coffee. Just the way it should be to start your day! We both had spinach, feta cheese and tomato omelettes accompanied with seasoned and crispy home fries, bacon and rye toast. We are always properly attended to throughout our visit. The diner is medium-sized, family oriented and cozy. The diner gets very busy on the weekends, so arrive early to enjoy without the crowd. The husband, Chris and co-owner is also very nice. They have the best bang for dollar in the Binghamton area! Try them... You will not be disappointed! 04/16/2024 My wife and I went there for breakfast and Jasmyne our Server was OUTSTANDING!
I loved sitting by the window and enjoying my breakfast. I had biscuits and sausage gravy. I had a full order, but next time I will get the smaller order. It was excellent and relatively inexpensive. The coffee was good as well. I was able to park next door in the free parking lot. It was a very short but cold walk to the door.
We love to find a local diner when we’re on the road. This one was a great choice. The place bubbles with energy both at the counter & in the 2 dining rooms. The staff seems to know at least a third of the customers. Another third are college students and the test are traveling riff raff like us. The menu is extensive: from hot dogs, hamburgers to meat loaf, meat balls & pasta. Breakfast is served all day. We shared a scrumptious Reuben & a lamb gyro. Both were stuffed & juicy and the best we’ve eaten in a long while. Fries were hot & tasty. We shared a coconut pie that was darned good. There is parking on the street and in an adjacent lot. Easy access from the highway. You won’t be disappointed!
They know how to treat customers well. The lady who served us and the owner were very warm and friendly. We felt right at home. My kids got free lollies too! We ordered a pancake, gyro and burger and we were so amazed at their generous servings. My chicken gyro was cooked well - bread was warm and soft, chicken cooked just right and the tzatziki sauce was yum! The burger was also cooked so well and had abundant cheese and mushrooms. The pancake was bigger than my daughter’s hand! Definitely worth a stop next time we are in the area!
I went with my son for a special daddy day and he had a great time. The food variety is typical for a small New York diner, but delicious and the helping were very generous. The servers were exceptionally friendly and attentive and the food came within 10 minutes of ordering. This is a CASH ONLY establishment so be prepared. If you do forget to bring cash there is a restaurant owned ATM available which charges a fee of $2.75 for all transactions. There is a small parking lot available but the restaurant is busy and the alternative is street parking which you can pay through credit cards or the Flowbird App.
The food portions are huge!! Definitely delicious! Bring your appetite! The fluffy chocolate chip pancakes are perfect for a hungry kid!! The liverwurst sandwich was good!! The service was very friendly! I without a doubt highly recommend this place when you are in the Binghamton area! Excellent place!!
I can see why this joint is always packed with hungry BU students-inexpensive, stout portions, good quality food, personable waitresses, and ample parking. My go-to is a Western omelet, well done home fries, and wheat toast. Chris's nails the details; the home fries were perfectly well done, the wheat toast finished on the grill and buttered to the crust, and the omelet tender and flavorful. Bottomless coffee, hot and strong.
First timer at Chris'. Really enjoyed it!! Probably one of the best turkey clubs, French fries were fresh out of the fryer and cooked perfectly!! Sat up at the counter, like I've always wanted to do, to watch the cook and it was really fun to watch. Food was filling and really good, daughter had 3 eggs home fries and bacon also really good and she's glad she ordered no toast because she wouldn't have been able to eat it! Waited was attentive and good!! I'm definitely going back
First time at Chris’ this morning and glad we popped in. It’s an old school diner, it’s no frills, some rips in the seats in the booths but if you’re looking for good, honest, well portioned food, with great service. This is the place to go. It’s cash only but then again, most diners are anyway. Food is very well priced. 3 eggs, 5 pieces of bacon, toast and huge portion of home fries for $9.50! Enjoyable experience.
I used to love going to this place but rarely ever have cash. Finally, on Sunday, I had some cash and wanted to take my son there for lunch. But AFTER we ordered our drinks, they told us they were only serving breakfast. I then had to pay for a coffee and a soda for no reason.Because we did not stay as my son did not want breakfast. THERE SHOULD DEFINITELY BE A SIGN IN THE WINDOW THAT THE ONLY SERVE BREAKFAST ON SUNDAYS
Standard diner decor. Quaint. Nice. Long wait for server. She had a pleasant demeanor and seemed to want to give good service. I prefer hash browns over home fries, which they don't have so I went to my backup order, fried chicken, only to be informed they do not have that either, and haven't for a long time. They didn't bother to take it off the menu, though. I asked for another minute because I needed to look at the menu again. For the next 10 min. She passed my table several times and engaged heavily with some acquaintances at a table next to ours before hugging each one of them, leaving and coming back to take our order. My meat loaf was hot and served promptly. The quality was medium, and the taste experience was good. The food was NOT "the best around" as stated in some other reviews (some people need to get out more). We have eaten at dozens of diners in the surrounding area and other states. This was just what I would describe as fine. There was no room to get out of our booth because it was too close to the table next to us. We had to make the other people move. We will not go back. (Special note- very good prices)
